You will be able to see all the reviews of real people who buy the services of Sugarbush Farm (Tourist Attraction) near to the state of Vermont.
Nowadays this firm has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 and that score has been based on 618 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is basically the best one, and it is founded on a very large number of opinions, so we may say that the valuation is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to write feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Tourist Attraction belongs to the category of Tourist attraction.
If you love cheese, maple syrup, free samples and/or animals, Sugarbush Farms is a must visit attraction. The horseradish cheddar is to die for!
The best cheddar I have ever had! This family farm makes their own cheddar and it is a treat. You can tour their farm, taste some samples. They are all very kind people. I am picky with my cheese and I can tell you the bigger Vermont cheese companies don't compare to this family farm.
The grounds and store were very fun and interesting. We were able to try various types of maple syrups and cheese, which were both fantastic. You can also see some of the historic areas of operation where, if you're lucky, you may catch them making a batch of syrup. Many of the products made by the farm are available for sample. Take advantage of the employee's knowledge of the products and enjoy a fanatic history of the products produced there and the hands that made them.
We love this place!
The history and aged cheeses of that farm are my absolute favorite. The 12 year old cheddar I will remember always and nothing store bought could compare. The mini petting zoo with the goats were cute as well.
Small farm. Good for a quick trip if you’re in the area but don’t plan to spend too much time there. The samples were delicious.
Best cheese ever. Maple syrup was great.
Beautiful day for a farm tour
I didn’t do the tour where you can see how the syrup is transferred and how the maple syrup is cooked prior to bottling, but the cheese/maple syrup sample tasting was awesome. They have great products and absolutely amazing and friendly staff.
Be sure to try as many samples as possible. And then purchase your favorite items.
Super friendly! Very informative and give taste samplings as they go over the different cheeses and syrups. Also has a little playground, horses, goats, rabbits, etc. Strongly recommend!
Awesome people, great cheese and maple syrup
Great cheese. Great syrup!
Not worth the drive and the hassle finding this place. If not for the wonderful tasting cheese it would have been a wasted drive. Too far off the beaten path.
You get a "tasting" of various cheeses from mild to extra sharp. The smoked cheese is the best. Then you shop in their store where there are samples of just about everything!
Great chesse. Very nice people.
It's a nice little farm. The cheeses and souvenir are pricier than Cabot. Sue who helped us with the cheese tasting is very helpful and friendly.
Small place, admission is free which is nice! They have a few animals, a simple play ground for kids. They give you cheese samples, and you can taste their maple syrup. The store used to be a house actually which makes it kind of a cute place.
If you like farms a must see, shows how to make cheeses, also can buy those cheeses.
Nice little maple farm that has cheese samples, a few animals and a nice little walk.
Great tourist stop when visiting the area, and easily paired with Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park a few minutes down the road. Sample syrups, learn about the syrup-making process, walk through the maple woods, and visit some friendly cows, all while taking in beautiful views across the hills, especially in autumn. The shop sells bottles small enough to place in carry-on bags for those travelling by air, and products are reasonably priced.
Great outing. Lots to do with young kids, the maple walk is short enough for young ones, and has trivia posted throughout. The staff was super friendly, and the views are gorgeous. Cheeses and syrup are excellent. Totally recommend.
The road to get here is scary and you'll be wondering if it's worth it. It is. Wonderful cheese and maple stuff, and you can taste everything. Reasonable prices too, much less expensive than any of the other store type places. This is like visiting your cool family that makes tasty food stuff.
This place is amazing! You could spend hours here exploring the displays about Maple sugaring, visiting the farm animals, talking to the staff, and tasting various Maple and cheese products. We enjoyed doing all of this- everything was delicious- and we can wait to return during sap collecting season!
Out of the way with pristine views that one think no longer exist. A family farm that works hard to produce cheese and maple syrup among other things that are very tasteful and delicious.
We loved our visit to Sugarbush and can't wait to return! Everyone is kind, welcoming, and you feel like part of the family. Make sure to sample all the cheese and syrups so you know what to purchase. They have thoughtful gift packages for the holiday and amazing, tasty products! Thanks again and make sure to visit and take the time to explore the farm.
Always a great place to visit. Wonderful cheeses and syrup.
Adorable farm, outstanding cheese and syrup! Authentic family-run establishment, nothing fake, no gimmicks. Animals were the cherry on top!
The best cheese!
Samples of their cheeses
Loved it. Very nice place, lots for us to explore and learn. My kids enjoyed this as one of our favorite places we visited so far in Vermont. Gorgeous views. The property is free to explore, you can see inside their maple barn and there is a nice video explaining all the workings of a maple farm and making of syrup, inside the barn you can see the equipment used to make syrup. Then you can walk the forest to the sugarbush (collection of maple trees) that they gather sap from to make their syrup. There are some chickens and bunnies and goats in the little farm yard area as well as two gorgeous draft horses. There is also a small chapel at the top of the hill in the woods. Then at the end of your tour go inside to sample maple syrup and cheeses as well as jams/jellies, sauces and spreads and other wonderful assortment of items. This is a fantastic way to support the business. I prefer this method of a farm. Free to come look and then purchase from the store. We passed over another big farm in the area that was expensive for ea of us to get in just to see around. Then you wouldn’t have extra to spend really in any items in a gift store. I was more willing and able to purchase goods when the free tour is unaccompanied and doesn’t really cost them anything for tour guides or much upkeep etc. We got to spend some $ but come home with some goodies along with our experience. I would surely return or send anyone here. I’m pretty picky about things and if it doesn’t really wow me or completely disappoint me I usually just don’t bother reviewing. But this was worth the time.
The cheese tasting and maple syrup were amazing! Very nice farm!
Very nice people working, great samples and beautiful area
Very nice family. We learned about the syrup process and sampled delicious syrups and cheeses.
Loved it! Great place to visit. Wonderful products!
Wow! This was a surprise side trip recommended by the staff at our resort. The cheese is out of this world however it's not even on the Cheese Map which is shocking. It's known for it's maple syrup but the cheese is a fantastic bonus. It's definitely a trip up the hillside worth taking. Family owned and operated for I believe 74yrs, great staff, free cheese and syrup tasting, small hiking trails to see the tree taps, tour of the boiler room and a well stocked gift shop. We will absolutely go back.
I bought two cheeses! Jack & Smoky. and about 8 bottles of their out standing Maple syrup - don't miss it. but the best part was the lovely people who worked there, sharing information with smile and eager to satisfy - a joy!
A little hard to get to if you have a good size camper trailer, but it's possible. Worth the trip. Very nice people, love the cheese and the syrup.
This was a beautiful place to visit. Great people, great cheese, fantastic maple syrup! Loved going here...
Amazing cheeses and jams that are so delicious and authentic
Honestly come for the cheese and maple syrup, you will not be disapointed. Try all the cheeses, but buy the ones you like. They also have some fantastic salami (try the buffalo), and some delicious preserves. It was too cold for us to explore anything outside, but the tasty treats we're enough to warrant a trip here next time we are in town.
Was amazing to see the sugar boiling!
Great place to stop! Enjoyable staff made you feel like family.
Good signage to help you find your way back to the farm. Very friendly people, beautiful grounds, and yummy cheese and syrup!
Loved it! We arrived just as they were closing but they reopened the gift shop for us and the self-guided tour was very informative. It was great seeing how they make maple syrup!
A great experience for us. The cheese is so yummy and the syrup is not less then perfect.
The people here are passionate and dedicated. Just wonderful!
Though the cheese and maple syrup were delicious, the experience was far from what I expected. The farm is a small set of buildings and very small handmade "exhibit". There were a few animals to look at and an extremely small chapel. The highlight was the syrup and cheese tasting, but even that was rushed and in a small, somewhat rundown house. Overall, glad I went because it was beautiful out there and the syrup and cheese were great, but not something I would go out of my way for.
Loved very friendly staff loved seeing how syrup is made and tried all different condiments
Educational with very kind people!
I wouldn't buy my cheeses from anywhere else. Cute farm, helpful workers.
Wide variety of cheeses, maple syrup, and other products with many samples! Can tour the sugar house and visit the animals as well.
Great place and staff
Great stop. Family farm. 8 month cheddar is fantastic. Friendly, informative people.
I must admit, Sugarbush Farm was a very cool experience. They have complimentary cheese and syrup tastings and then a small gift shop where you can purchase anything you really liked. There is a self guided tour of the syrup boiling room that is filled with fascinating tidbits of information and photos of the operation. The Maple Walk is another nice feature and is a short path through the maple trees that produce the majority of the sap. Overall the experience was authentic, informative, and of great value. The farm itself is beautiful and serene. My favorite part was definitely the chapel in the woods, so be sure to check that out!
Really great products! Really nice people!
So glad we took the short detour to Sugarbush Farm. Amazing cheeses and maple syrups, great educational walks showing the maple harvest process, in a storybook setting. The staff at this family run farm made the experience even better.
Love the ladies here. You can sample different kind of cheese and maple syrup. They do have a gift shop if you want to buy cheese, mple syrup, condiments and souvenir items. You can hike to see maple trees and how they get them. Walking is pretty easy.
What a wonderful place to visit. Off the beaten path, but worth the trip! It is a great shop to buy local syrup and cheeses. Tucked into the mountains, it is so peaceful and serene. I will be making the trip again !
Loved the cheese tasting
This place is so gosh dang amazing. You think oh man this place is the top result for cheese and/or Maple syrup around so it's probably super touristy and commercial. NOPE. It's amazing. I was here six years ago and came into them coating the cheeses in wax right there. I went again this week and STILL AMAZING. They gave samples of everything, there is information about the process and you can talk to the owners right there. Amazing place and would recommend.
Small family run farm that has great cheddar cheeses and Maple syrup. Can't make the trip, or from their website, you will not be disappointed.
Great place to spend a couple of hours, alot
Great people great time. If ever in the area def go
Great experience for all. If you want to see the real deal about cheese and maple syrup this is a must see
Fun stop - definitely for the tourists. They offer maple syrup and cheese tasting, along with trails to the see tapped maple trees and observe the process of making the syrup. Worth a stop if you're in the area.
Really cute! We had a great experience. You can tour the maple trees, sample the syrups and cheeses, and see some cute animals to boot.
Best cheese around!!
Incredible cheese and maple syrup and such nice people. Bet you can't walk in here and spend less than $20 on goodies in the store.
First off this is one darn frendlfr bunch of people that are running the farm. We had a wonderful cheese tasting and I was not expecting that. Cone and find gifts for your loved ones they will thank you. Thanks guys for a really cool farm and store.
sweet love of god. yummy. i didnt want leave. maple syrup and cheese. free to try almost anything.
Just not what I expected. Long way in on dirt road for a quick tour of the cheese room. I was really disappointed to find out they don't make the cheese they sell, just cut, wrap and wax it. Bummer! A gallon of their maple syrup was more than$20 higher than other places. Buy your syrup somewhere else!
I had gone to this place 20 or more years ago, and it was so cool all these years later to bring my wife and 3 young children here, and to see this place still thriving as a local Vermont staple! 3 generations strong! Delicious cheese (we got some extra sharp cheddar and also loved the ones with horseradish and onion) and decadent maple syrup (we got the 3rd one that was darker and from later in the season) after getting to sample as many varieties as we wanted. We also bought lots of other fun things in the gift shop like a magnet, stuffed animal, and maple candy. We met the owners, Betsy and Larry, who were so sweet and answered all our questions. Then we went on a tour, watched an educational video about how they collect and produce the maple syrup, and even got to feed their goats and pet their baby cow. What a fun time! The kids loved it! We'll be back next time we're in the Green Mountain State. : )
Wonderful memories are made with every visit to sugar bear farms. Great cheese and fun for kids
Great cheese and amazing syrup. Loved the signs on the way to the farm. The Road was covered in snow. Made this trip way more fun.
Great cheese, the exhibit for maple not really active. Very good maple syrup :)
It's a good place to find out what cheese you like and maple syrup. It's off the beaten path but crossing the covered bridge on the way is very nice. Great views from the backyard
Beautiful area, fun place. Staff wonderful.
Nice place. The only issue we had that prevented 5 stars was it's allowing of tour busses. We were there when one arrived making it very crowded.
Very neat place to visit and cheese is awesome
The place was busy and the goats are adorable. Maple syrup and cheese, plus gifts.
Dang fine cheese and barn animals
It’s a nice farm. However, didn’t see much farm activities due to it still being Wintery. The weather definitely didn’t take away from the experience. First, it's one heck of a bumpy ride getting here but worth it. The cheese makers were lovely! We got to sample 15! Types of cheeses they make & 4 types of maple syrup. They're all delicious. They informed of of how it's made/ aged/ rated. There's a self tour of the farm/ sugar room where the maple syrup is made. It's a cool experience for a city dude.
I was the only one there. When I pulled up I didnt feel to good about going here. When I walked in it was a bit awkward but the staff was very friendly. So many choices of cheddar cheese. Four type of maple syrup and they are just so good. During the free samples they explain the process of the cheese you pick and then same with the maple syrup. The gift shop and snack shops are awesome. They also have a jam, jelly and spread tasting area.
Excellent place to stop. The owners/employees are very friendly. Plenty of cheese, maple, mustard and relishes to try and no pressure to buy.... We did anyway because they were delicious. Do it. Stop there if you are passing by.
Absolutely love the cheese and fresh maple syrup
Have to go to have the full Vermont syrup experience. The road there is also beautiful.
Fun place to visit
It was a genuine farm experience way up a hill and dirt road. Many great cheeses and syrup to purchase and the display and video in one of the back buildings was interesting. This is not the Disneyland version of a farm, it is authentic.
Great selection of cheeses. Love that you could taste them all. Drove there twice just for cheese. Wish we happened to go there atleast once when it wasn't raining so that we could utilize the different trails.
This family farm was so sweet! They graciously let us sample multiple types of cheese while explaining the aging process and how it affects the flavor/composition. They also walked us through a "maple syrup flight" from light to very dark while explaining the differences. It was all delicious and we left with lots of goodies to bring home.
Amazing place
The farm connects you with the reality and fascination of a family farm. The people working the farm seem like members of the family, and Larry, the patriarch, shares a little of the history that endears you to his family. They have very good cheese and maple syrup, along with some other souvenirs of Vermont. We enjoyed the view, the cheese, syrup, and the stories. Not to mention the “snowfall pole”, which indicates the snowfall totals for about twenty years. 125 inches in the winter of 2017-18, and is the highest since the family has been recording the snowfall. Look them up on the internet for cheese and syrup to be shipped to your home. When you visit, ask Larry if the boys today work as hard as he remembers he had to work back in the day... Great destination!!!
If you are from the city and know nothing of farm life this may be a good stop for you, but we went for the cheese. I was quite disappointed to hear that they don’t MAKE the cheese, they just SMOKE the cheese. Samples were decent but then you basically go into a gift shop and look to buy a bunch of stuff they bought somewhere else. Not authentic nor exciting to me, and though the drive was pretty I would rather have gone elsewhere.
Fun self tour and animals
Best cheese around
Spent time at this enjoyable farm this past week. Loved the drive to get there! We were able to sample several varieties of cheese and maple syrup on an actual working farm. It was hard to choose which ones to bring home. This is a must do if you are in the area!
Great cheeses and maple syrup.
This is some of the best cheese I have ever had, made right on location with their own milk.
What a great place. I will be back.
This place is super cute, I met one of the owners, an amazing hard working older gentleman who was still going strong at 4:30pm after "bailing five or six rolls of hay today before the rain". All the food they sell is so good it should be illegal! It is totally worth the trip if you looking to support a small town farmers and buy some awesome goodies to take home.
Sugarbush does a nice job of offering a lot of Vermont made products at a reasonable price. They have a lot of samples of their products and everyone we talked to was very nice. The Maple syrup and cheese they make is very good. You don't see any of the cheese or maple production but there is a self guided tour of the maple syrup process with a video . We went in August; maybe during sugaring season you can see some of the process live.
Great people, beautiful place, great signage to get you to the farm.
Fun to visit, great cheese and syrup.
Our go-to for amazing maple syrup and fresh Vermont cheeses! We make the trip up every couple of years to stock up on jugs of maple syrup. They will tell you that you can see it in the freezer since the high sugar content won't allow it to freeze. We keep it in a chest freezer and pour out what we need into a small jug in the fridge.
Beautiful farm, welcoming people, delicious cheese and syrup! It was the perfect family-friendly stop!
Loved that the tour was self guided although it could use some sprucing up. The cheese and maple syrup were mind blowing!
A very good place to visit when in Vermont. The quality of their products is very high. Hope to visit again in the future.
Beautiful views and delicious samples! Too many great foods to choose from!
Really cool experience at your own past, would be drop dead gorgeous in the fall colors. Love the tastings of cheeses and syrup. Can't wait to make my order to ship home
Wonderful place to visit. We sampled plenty of cheeses and maple syrup. Super friendly staff. Ended up purchasing maple candy/cheeses/maple syrup, etc from their store. Only wish it hadn't rained the day or two prior. Way too muddy to hike around the farm. And as others have mentioned, not the smoothest road driving to the farm.....
Wonderful place to visit. Samples of the best maple syrup and Vermont cheese on the planet. Very nice staff, see farm animals for the kids, a walking path. Beautiful scenery. And a chance to see how much snow they get. Incredible.
Excellent cheese and syrup.
Made on site cheese & maple syrup w congenial hostess and all the tasting you could ask for with breathtaking scenery.
The road to the farm is not well maintained and you will question whether you are going in the right direction. But persevere and you will arrive at a modest working family farm with friendly people, cheeses and maple syrup. Worth the trip.
Still family owned after nearly 80 years, this is a gem of a place where VT sugaring lives on in full swing, with old fashioned values and pride. They have a tasting room for their cheeses and maple syrups, as well as other locally made jams, dips and other delicious products. Don't forget to take in the sugarhouse tour and don't miss the short walk up the back woods through their sugar grove, and read the informational signs along the way!
Authentic, no frills, working farm.
Wonderful syrup! Great cheese tasting as well!
Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Note that the road to has a very rough unpaved portion. If you have a car with a low clearance or expensive wheels, reconsider.
Staff were friendly and helpful, but the site wasn't what I was expecting. Was surprised the cheese is made elsewhere for the farm and packaged up as sugarbush farm produce. Also the display area was small and didn't feel very hygienic given it was a food handling area.
Great maple and cheese selection. It's a nice little spot in Vermont. Very quaint and pretty basic. This is not a 2 or 3 hour visit; it's a quick hike, tasting and self guided tour of the facility. We spent about 45 minutes and it was mostly shopping and poking around the chapel. It's a nice farm with delicious maple syrup. Horses were beautiful!
This farm is fantastic and what America's all about - honest hard working individuals. I was amazed by how much work it takes to make maple syrup - 40 gallons of sap = 1 gallon of syrup! You can see the whole process it's so interesting. They keep a few beautiful Belgian Draft Horses on the premises as a throwback to an earlier time when ppl went by horse drawn sled to manually collect buckets of sap. The farm is family owned and I had a really interesting conversation with one of the owners about dairy farming in VT. There's cheese and maple syrup samples - we bought both the prices are great. We'll be ordering more online - they ship worldwide. Highly recommend - very educational and informative plus free "admission". Family friendly lots of goats to pet. :)
Great place to visit. Friendly and fun for family. Wonderful cheese, smoky bacon is my favorite.
The road is a bit rough but the farm is lovely. We didn’t get to enjoy it all due to weather but it was fun. Lots of samples of cheese and syrup and a cute gift shop. My son had fun!
A beloved place for maple syrup, great cheeses, and lovely Vermont treats.
We were here during winter so we didn't get to see them boil the maple syrup, but they do collect the sap and make maple syrup at this place, kinda hard to get to this place as you need to drive down long dirt roads (which get very slippery when wet) but you can take a walk through their woods to see the collection process of the sap. They have some animals too although weren't much when we were there, again, due to winter... But very friendly staff there in their shop explaining the process of the maple syrup, they also wrap up I think it was goat cheese in wax, different flavors into different colors of wax, very interesting!
A great scenic drive! When you think it’s just around the bend, you just still keep going! The cheese and syrup tasting was good! Great selections to buy! Also a video on the making of syrup was cool!
You can’t miss coming to Vermont and not come to this place. Sampling of cheeses and syrups are welcomed. I will return another time in the near future!
Enjoyed the drive on beautiful winding roads to Sugarbush Farms. Their cheeses (two are raw milk based) were delicious and rival better known brands. Found two new great flavors — sage and horseradish. Excited to find they ship Christmas baskets full of their wares and signed up for a catalogue. Their four types of maple syrup were also very flavorful. It was educational to see the vats, pipes, other machinery and tools used for the syrup process, the maple walk among the trees, and they had a small petting zoo for the kids. Overall very nice experience with friendly people.
The drive was beautiful, staff friendly and the tours informative. They also make delicious cheese here. 8 min video describes how hard these folks work year round. I have a new appreciation for the trade.
Friendly, beautiful property, yummy maple syrup and cheeses. Lots of other yummy treats as well! It's a must stop every time I'm in Woodstock!
Great experience, very nice and generous family run business. They allowed us to taste a lot of different kinds of cheese, all nice big chunks, would definitely recommend the smoked cheddar, some of the best I've tasted. The maple syrup was awesome, they taught us about a lot of the different kinds. I wish I had come during sugar season to see them make the maple syrup, maybe next time.
Beautiful farm and friendly staff! Free cheese, maple syrup, and jam tasting. Aged cheeses were delicious and their maple syrup was amazing! Beautiful views, you can go on a “maple walk” to see the all trees they tap.
Sooooo delicious!!! If you want AMAZING cheese, spreads, syrup, ect... you NEED to stop here! You will be driving through woods, on a dirt road and question if there really is a place at the end... but there is and it is so yummy!!!
Lovely place and the staff are so nice. You never feel pressured to buy their products. Although you should- their cheddar cheeses are fantastic!
They had 14 types of cheese to try, the blue cheese was to die for. The kicker is 4 types of Maple syrup you can taste and buy. I bought a case of the 4 syrup samplers to take back to Texas!
Absolutely Beautiful!!
So fun and yummy samples. Free, educational fun!!
