My friend and I had the best time on this trip. The rock climbing was amazing!

Friendly staff! Secluded camp sites with the sound of a Brook running nearby as you wonder off into a peaceful tranquil land of green. Many places to see within a 10 mile radius. Many short hikes. Many more long hikes. The weather was perfect for hiking (70's) while my fiance and I were visiting. June 9-11. Little chilly at night (40's) but it was not to cold for us in a tent with a hefty sleeping bag. Overall had a very pleasant stay at this camp ground and would certainly return for another visit.

Beautiful park with forests, lakes and waterfalls. The road over the notch is narrow, so be careful when driving.

Beautiful campground! For such a small campground your site feels cozy and private. Clean bathrooms and great views of the mountains. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend!

(Translated by Google) Beautiful place in nature. Beautiful clean forest and very clean and well maintained campsite. I have a trailer 28 feet and easy to set up. And do not miss the big rocks of Smuggler's Notch ready. And beautiful place for tents.

Camp sites are fairly secluded with a nice fire pit. Running water is pottable and clean. Shower is pay, but nice. Great view of the stars on a clear night. Best of all the staff is friendly and helpful. Be sure to take a minute at the Ranger Station to check out all the Humming birds.

This is a great place with tremendous panoramas and tough trails

Very quiet and EXCEPTIONALLY clean grounds, camp sites, bathrooms and showers! They facilities are cleaned every hour or 2. I have been to many campgrounds and this one is BY FAR the nicest I have been to!!! The views on the drive in/out are exceptional and breathtaking. All of the site's have fire pits with cooking grills attached as well as picnic tables. Firewood and Ice are available at the Ranger station where you check in. If you stay here, be sure to drive the Toll road and go to the top of Mt. Mansfield. The road closes by 5 PM so go early and plan a day of it. Lots of beautiful trails to hike around at the top as well as photo ops. It is one of the few places in the U.S. with true Alpine forest. Also make your way up to Smugglers Notch, which has plenty of trails, large boulders, and nooks and crannies to explore.

We spent four nights here with three linked sites and had a great stay. Kids enjoyed the stream and trails directly behind one of the sites. We had a popup and while some sites won't accommodate them due to size, we had plenty of room. No hook-ups available so you'll have to be self-sufficient. Really nice facilities, only one shower but it's a small cg so if timed well there's minimal wait. Close to everything local. Lean to was easily large enough to accommodate a family with gear. Great fire pit with a rack for cooking. Heavily wooded, private sites. Quiet at night, very peaceful. I can highly recommend.

You will feel closer to God here. Peaceful

Beautiful drive through the area on 108 with several hiking areas along the way and parking area/clean bathrooms at the top. If you're from out of town, the road gets very narrow... tractor trailers and camper drivers don't do it!

Amazing road from Stew to Smugglers Notch. Don't Miss it!

(Translated by Google) I was denied access on the grounds that the sites were reserved for tents while the notices mention that motorized camped there easily. Mine is only 21 feet. Why ? (Original) On m'a refusé l'accès sous prétexte que les emplacements étaient réservés aux tentes alors que les avis mentionnent que des motorisés s'y sont campés facilement. Le mien fait seulement 21 pieds. Pourquoi ?

I was a park attendant aat Smuggler's Notch State Park, and in the eighties I trained many people for that position.Unless the state has sold parts of the park,it borders on Smugglers' Notch. The sides of smugglers' Notch are so steep that trees' roots cannot grow into the ground and hold it steady,so mudslides are comon several times a year, and hikers, espescially groups of hikers, are warned not to go there Of course in the 80's,when I worked as a ski instructor and part of their ski patrol in the winter and a park attendant the rest of the year,Stowe was very small-Mount Mansfield,Smugglers Notch State Park,Smugglers' Notch, the Trapp Family Lodge, and the entrance to Stowe were all one road going east and west, which merged with route 11,which went north and south.7 miles north of Stowe Route 11 would end at Morrisville, and mergie into route 5,which went east and west..5 miles to the west it would go through Johnson, and 11 miles more it would reach Burlington. As a semi-proffesional nature and macro photographer,I will guarantee that all 3 were great for taking scenic pictures. They also were loaded with covered bridges of a New Hampshire style, although with the increase in traffic and population some of them may have had to be torn down.

Excellent campground. Quiet, clean, nice facilities, private, great nearby hiking and dining.

Benjamin Charles

Small, clean and comfortable campground. Just far enough outside of Stowe to be quiet and remote while not too far from the center to be inconvenient. Staff was friendly and helpful. This campground books up quickly, so reserve early.

Strange to rate a location rather than an establishment- just go. We went for foliage and I'm sure it's also amazing in other times of the year. The colors were off the chain. Drive up. Spend a few hours. Hike around. Enjoy. No disappointment here.

Small but spread out. 2 minute drive to the resort. Easy access to hiking.

Ankit Dhaniwala

Don’t miss the drive from Stowe up to the Smugglers Notch State Park. It’s perfect for summer and a dream during fall. Most suitable for foliage viewing and leaf peeping!
