Most delight stay at Rudyard Kipling's home. Remember this a home of the early 20th century. Sit in the study where Kipling wrote some of his most remembered books. See his clay tennis court maybe the first tennis court in the U.S. See the golf clubs brought by his friend Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to Vermont as the hit golf balls in field locals watched on wondering how crazy were these two men. LOL today golf is one of our favourite sports. Also see wooden snow skies thought to be first in Vermont. A must do experience.

The Viking Chef

Beautiful grounds and house though not really enough hiking trails for all those acres.

Marcia Henderson

This is the house Rudyard Kipling built in Brattleboro, VT. I'm doing some gardening at the house

This place is amazing.

For me it is important as the house in which he wrote his great novel KIM which has rightly been called "the greatest novel ever written"/ How he could write KIM in the Vermont countryside nine thousand miles from its native setting in India defeats my imagination. KIM is a work of the highest imagination and genius and its scenes in North India are too far from the West to seem possible a flight of the imagination from nineteenth century British India to America......He was living when he wrote KIM with his father,in Battleboro, and presumably with his wife Carrie Balestier whom he had recently married in 1891.

Indescribably greatly preserved U.S. home of author Rudyard Kipling with many original furniture to be enjoyed as a vacation rental with a beautiful view of Monadnock mountains! The Landmark trust has wonderfully maintained this and many other historic sites that are worth visiting with family and friends!
