You will see the feddbacks of real people who are consuming the services and products of Fort Ticonderoga (Tourist Attraction) in the state of Vermont.
At present the firm has a score of 4.7 over 5 and that score has been based on 1113 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is virtually the highest, and it's based on a high number of scores, so we can say that the assessment is very reliable. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they are satisfied with the service, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to put feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Tourist Attraction is included in the category of Historical landmark.
Amazing history! People are in character and period costume doing the jobs that were done at that time. They are extremely knowledgeable. Educational and enlightening. The view is amazing up there as well.
Excellent place to visit and learn past history
A nice place with great views but way too much walking for an older person like me. We were only able to stay a while as I needed to rest. Some more comfortable seating options would have made a great difference. A great place for the younger generation.
Been many times since my kids were little but now go with the grandchildren. There are many events you can choose to go to at the fort as well as just a regular visit. I learn or see something new every time. Love to walk down to the king's garden! Make sure you visit there! They have really improved it and it is even more beautiful to see now. I can't wait to see the renovated hotel they are processing on. Going back again this summer for sure. I was on a kids field trip and didn't have enough time to leisurely walk around.
The presentation were inspiring and the staff were very engaging. Every patriot should visit this hallowed site an remember that freedom isn't free.
Our visit to this important historic site was enhanced by the people in costume sharing history in such a way that made it come to life. An excellent family activity.
Amazing views. Great history.
It amazing how they build every thing here the people are a on point and perfect so I have to give it 5 stars
Everything about this place is done perfectly. The actors take their roles very seriously, though they are all incredibly friendly and willing to answer any questions you might have. We did not do the guided tour, choosing instead to walk the grounds and take everything in. There is more to do here than you may realize. We were under a time constraint on a road trip and I wish we'd had more time to explore and be patient with everything that was there. If you're planning a trip make sure to give yourself at least three to four hours of exploration time, plus a trip to Mount Defiance afterwards - the last tour goes up at 4:30pm - we missed that part. When you're done check out the surrounding area too, lots of stuff to see and do in the little town.
Fort Ticonderoga is a great place to go and spend the day! Corn Maze, and other activities BESIDES just the fort! The fort alone is an awesome adventure with musket demonstrations, real cooking with dirt stoves and of course an awesome gift store and little eatery! This was plenty of fun for our two families for the day! I only wish we didn't have to leave earlier than we wanted. Plenty of stuff for the whole family!
As always, the fort was great and always learn something new.
Wish there were more people giving details of life in that period. It's such an important part of history. Been to other forts that were more interesting.
Amazing historical site with lots to learn from. It really makes you feel like your back in the 17th century, very well preserved.
Very cool to see. I am a big US history person so to actually see the fort was awesome. The staff was great and had characters dressed for re enactments. Battle reenactments too. Very cool.
Great displays and very well put together demonstrations
Its a full fun day. The fort has so much to see and do. The reenactors really helped by making it feel like you were back in time. They did a drum parade and they shot off a old cannon. The king's garden is always a great way to end your visit. At then of the day we went up Mt. Defiance for the lecture and saw the fort from a different angle. It was a nice way to bring everything together. This is a nice, beautiful place to come and visit.
A wonderful place to visit. You can spend the whole day if you choose. The staff are friendly, helpful & well versed on the history of the area.
Great history and lunch was delicious.
Great piece of History. Hands on stuff for the kids.
The fort is very interesting. The reenactors are knowledgeable and enjoy telling the story. The BAD: 45 minutes to get a turkey sandwich and fries at the cafe in the gift shop. Plenty of people working, but clueless about how to run a restaurant. People were walking out.
A fun trip through time to learn about the founding of the U.S. and earlier.
The best Revolutionary Era fort. Complete, big, programs, cannon and musket firing and plenty of other educational programs.
Very historical and informative. A place to relax and enjoy with family and friends.
Ive been coming to almost every Fort Ti event for the past 3-4 years, and theres always something new and exciting happening. If you haven't checked it out, I highly recommend visiting. Its a great place for all ages, not to mention how beautiful it is there.
Fantastic experience in so many ways. Even the snack bar food was great and reasonably priced.
Great place for fascinating history lesson.
As a child I spent many Summers and weekends in Ti. I don't remember the fort being so cool. We had a great time today wandering the grounds, learning and enjoying the beautiful views. The reenactors are knowledgeable, great storytellers, and obviously truly love what they do. Everyone loved the cannons bring fired off.. So cool. Gardens, gift shop, and Cafe are all pluses. Five stars all the way.
this place is awesome bin trying to get up here for years although the original Fort has been destroyed for the most part and rebuild it still awesome to be in such a historical site
So much history and fun. A museum that immerses you in the life and history.
Educational and fun planned on spending 2 hrs. Ended up staying for 5
If you like history and/or nature this is definitely a place to visit. We were there on a reenactment day, so there was quite a bit to do. The staff was really friendly and the demonstrations were very informative. Beautiful views throughout the fort. We chose to do the boat ride which was 75 minutes and also very informative. The cafe had great prices, $12 for a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Would not recommend the chicken and waffle cone appetizer. My husband ordered it and was disappointed because the waffle was more like a large sugar cone. There were also covered picnic tables in the front of the fort and I believe there were some in the garden, so you could definitely bring your own food.
Great place to visit and my 4 yr. old loved it.
First off, know that the fort is a reconstruction. It's not original, but it's a convincing replica, like Colonial Williamsburg (minus all the slavery). You will find plenty of reenactors doing daily chores around the fort, such as cooking, cleaning muskets, and making shoes. Some stay in character, some don't - I think you learn more from the latter. There is a collection of artifacts inside to peruse. Walk down the hill to check out a formal garden. Admission is fairly expensive, but allows you two days' access and includes a token to drive up Mt. Defiance nearby.
Had a great time. Cast was great, did a great job. Soeactaclur views and lots of history as well as artifacts.
Great to see my junior high school textbook come to life. You really get a feel for how it must have been hundreds of years ago.
Awesome place. Rich history and all the staff was very helpful and very knowledgeable.
Excellent 8nterpretive presentation by the volunteer tour leader. Huge place. We enjoyed walking through the facility.
Very good tour guides!
Good history place, recommended.
Was there may 27,had a great time. It's very educational. Will go again in the summer. Nice to go visit in all seasons. Everyone must visit at least once. Love, love, love the grounds.
Fort Ticonderoga is a great place to learn about early American history, with exhibits and demonstrations.
It is a long walking tour. You could spend 4 hours there. Just to see all the demonstrations they put on. I was tired and very sore. But, I enjoyed it!
A bit touristy, but a good place to visit for people who like history.
Always a great fort to see, kids love it, cannon fire, people dressed in period costume, lots of information and very well kept buildings. Parents be aware price is up there but it is worth it if you don't get to forts very often.
The Fort is in its second restoration and looking better than ever. Come and see it, know it's history and help contribute to it's saving. And visit Mount Defiance and see it's incredible views.
Had planned to spend 3 or 4 hours, spent all day to closing...time well spent..
Great piece of history with a lot of moving parts. The folks dressed as the French this year are a wealth of knowledge super friendly and helpful for all of your historical needs.
Amazing fort with a great museum collection, beautiful gardens, and occasional reenactment performances! Really cute cafe overlooking the water. Beware- check the fee before you go; the fee took me by surprise!
I highly recommend attending one of their special events. We went to their Living History Event: The Sound of 1776. It was very informative and educational. They were all very friendly and engaging. They do a wonderful job keeping our history alive and relevant.
Great engaging staff, world class collection and wonderful scenery. A must to visit!
My family had a great experience here today! The musket firing and cannon firing demonstrations were the best we've seen with engaging explanations and reenactments. We also very much enjoyed the hands-on activities for kids that give them a glimpse of what life what like in 1758. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!
Fun place to visit if you love history. Picturesque incredible views especially mount defiance
absolutely awesome experience. I wish the guy giving our tour was my history teacher. I would have learned a lot more than I did.
Great to see a site so important for the Revolutionary War, learned a lot about cannon and fort construction. Guides presented historic roles well! See the cannon firing demonstration for sure!
Phenomenal experience for children and adults alike!
Love history it needs updating
Great way to find information on history and the demonstrations were true to time.
Such an awesome experience. The history at Fort Ticonderoga is remarkable and will leave you in awe. The staff are all great and if you need anything they will help. I do wish they would expand the dining area. There was quite a wait this past weekend (as expected for July 4th), but they only had two waitresses with a busy rush. All in all great experience and the sights are gorgeous.
This is a big fort that would take a few hours to see. There are a few tours and the price is $24 per person. Its pretty big well worth the visit and more importantly to see the view. There is some confusion because when you get the map you think the boat tour is included. It is not and its $20 per person. Its an hour from town but its worth a visit if you are near.
Fort Ticonderoga is rich in history. There's so many displays to see and employees in era correct dress that tell you all about the fort. They even have live oxen pulling carts and cannons. It also has a nice souvenir shop and a place to dine. It was well worth the trip.
I had the pleasure of visiting this place this past Tuesday and spent the whole day there. The staff is extremely professional, knowledgeable and they take their job seriously. They love their job and it shows! I appreciate how during the musket drill they were speaking in some French and going over French terms. Keep up the great work!
Best fort we have visited
Very informative. I learned a lot. The boat ride and the cannon firing and the museum tour and the Mt. Defiance talk were all cool.
Great afternoon getaway. Lots of good historical elements and a garden to walk and talk with your partner.
Great owned by a private group very historical great for kids
Very interesting and historical fort. I recommend watching the cannon demonstration.
Nice piece of history. Not great for small kids. All I do is run around and not pay attention and make noise while the prisoners are trying to present. This is a good place for middle school or high school students and above
Lovely grounds and lots of history. Great for families.
Very educational and historical. I would have given it 5 stars, but the fort is falling into some disrepair. I just learned during my visit that they had earned a federal historical preservation grant to do extensive maintenance and repairs. That process is scheduled to start in early 2020. The reenactors are excellent and very knowledgeable. Nice rustic cafe/restaurant on premises.
The tour and demo's were awesome.
Spent the better part of a day there. Nice guides.
4th of July visit. King's Garden was beautiful, tour guides excellent, great views.
The place is awesome. The knowledgeable and friendly staff make it better than awesome. Demonstrations and lectures were very informative.
Fort Ticonderoga is a great place for a day trip. Its teeming with history and artifacts. The staff does a wonderful job recreating some of the jobs people would have had on the fort back when it was still in use. Every part of the fort is restored authentically to how it used to look and I cant recommend visiting it enough!
Great! Though I will I didn't die of small pox waiting for relief. 5 scalps!
We had a very interesting time here. Don't underestimate the amount of time you might spend. There are many exhibits and the costumed "reenactors" are happy to interact and answer questions. There is still much of the fort that is in disrepair and off-limits to visitors. Note to motorcyclists: the parking lot is not paved and can be a little tricky, especially when crowded. Admission included a token to get through the gate leading to Mount Defiance.
Big part of American history. Must see for all New Yorkers. Staff is very friendly and works hard to entertain. Dog friendly. Some tree shade would be very nice for hot summer months.
So much hístory here. Tour was awesome!
Very interesting, everyone there was very into character of the times down to making the shoes they wore and eating the food they ate. Would have liked to have gotten more information at different aspects but overall great time spent
I had never been before, enjoyed the day and learned a lot of history.
If you are interested in history this is a must see. I only wish it was a New York state park instead of nonprofit park.
I give this a 3 because I was very bored well being there, my grandmother wanted to do somthing with my family so we went there. There was some cool interesting things, but it was very boring. Dont Judge off of my rating,If you like history, go!! Edit: Okay so they responded to me promoting their place. Therefor I am now giving it a 1.
The fort was great and the staff even better. All the staff we met knew plenty of interesting facts about the period they were enacting. Apparently every year they pick a different period. It was very interesting and very worth it. Bathrooms are easily accessible. It is child friendly, and stroller and wheelchair accessible for the most part (elevator in the exhibit building and a steep ramp to the upper rampart). The exhibit building is nicely air conditioned and has water fountains. The barracks exhibit is only accessible by staircase and has no AC. The lower floors with staff are set up in period. The tailor room (at the time we were there) was in an upper room with stairs but the second floor windows are accessible from the upper rampart.
Amazing bit of American history. Alive every day. Cool to walk where George Washington, Ethan Allen and others went before
Nice place allot to see. Wish there was more of a guided tour then just walk around and look for yourself. Boat tour was fun. Gardens we're beautiful. Really wore out my 5 and 7 year old. They really liked it and had allot of questions. We Went to defiant point it is an amazing view it's a must see.
It's eerie, beautiful and deeply steeped in history re: the American Revolutionary War. There ARE a few things that go bump in the night (and day) there. However, a great historical site to visit and a good conversation piece afterwards!
I love history!
Spent a day and a half here. So interesting. Many things to see.
Excellent boat tour, $40.00 including admission.
Amazing history, worth the trip and tour
This is a fun spot with lots going on. It's a very free feeling place where a lot can be learned about French and Revolutionary History. You are given the liberty to wander and explore and will find yourself immersed in the time period that the curators spare no expense to reenact. Would recommend to anyone!
Good view back to the late 1700s good cheap for New York food
Wonderful! We are fort people and whenever we can, try and see history through forts. The staff are all great. From the time we purchased our ticket to all the presentations and tours, the staff was amazing. The fort is in great shape and has a lot to offer. We also took time to go through the corn maze and the king's garden. The king's garden was a sight that cannot be missed. BEAUTIFUL flowers, veggies and history. Three thumbs up.
Great day trip for all ages.
Great place to visit. Good narration by employees
Great reenactment and preservation of American history.
This was one of the many places my grandparents took me as a child I remember clearly the smell of death there .. I'm 41 now probably 5 at the time I went ,but I've never forgotten that ....wondering if anyone else has had that experience.
Did the night time Canon Expo was excellent
The place is ok and the fort is not too big or fancy. Their price tag of $24 is definitely not justified.
Great historical fort and surrounding park. Definitely worth a visit when in the area.
Very nice, people very informative about the fort, had a good time
Fascinating piece of American history. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. Fun to see the fifes and drums and the cannon shots.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The scenery is fantastic. You can either join a guided tour or go off on your own. You can interact with people from that time period and ask them questions.
A must see for people of all ages. The historical significance, exhibits, and the beauty of the place are without compare. Excellent staff who care deeply about history and education.
We were so excited to visit Fort Ticonderoga, after all the fort played a important part in the revolutionary war. After the battle of Concord and Lexington the Green Mountain Boys captured Fort Ticonderoga. It was here that Henry Knox got the artillery that General Washington needed for the siege of Boston. During the Saratoga Campaign, British General Burgoyne recaptured Fort Ticonderoga. After the war the fort was abandoned and fell into disrepair. The fort was purchased in the early 19th century and restored in the 20th century. It is now operated as a private museum. This is where the problem is, the entry fee is $24.00 for adults and $12.00 for children. Kind of pricey for a fort.
What an incredible historical place . Cannon demonstration was a very fun part to see . Great way to spend a beautiful afternoon
The fort was beautifully maintained and well worth the money we spent. The educated period actors lent even more authenticity to the experience. Don't miss the King's garden. There is even a cafe in the gift shop that served a yummy lunch!
I'm a history buff, and love places like this. Beautiful grounds and the owners maintain the historical authenticity. Keep history alive!
Fun place to learn interesting history.
What a great place to learn a bit more about the history of this country and to see some gorgeous views up and down Lake Champlain. Bring your kids. They'llll love it
Very informative guide, loved the cannons and show
.Great camp hosts.
Beautiful site. I almost didn't go because I wasn't in the mood for a battle site. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The fort was well presented and the views are amazing. I had lunch there also which was decent food at a decent price. Mt Defiance is included in the price, so I drove there as well. Even on a rainy day, it was worth it. So glad I went.
Great place to Learn some history and spend a couple hours.
Must see place!!! Fascinating history of America's formative years.
Absolutely a fantastic place to visit. The staff were so friendly in the restaurant, as well as the information desk, and store. I spent the day there on Saturday 5/25 and Sunday 5/26. I was so incredibly impressed with the actors, it was like being teleported back in time. The guy (sorry don't know his name, short guy with blond hair) who explained the artillery shoot, the musket firing, and who instructed drill on the parade deck was an absolute professional expert. I can't express completely how impressed I was.
Excellent presentation of history.
A bit costly but worth it! They have plenty of artifacts and very nicely presented guided tours!
Remarkable museum & reenactments! You need a whole day or more.
Great place to visit and learn some history. Have been here many times, never boring. Took the boat ride for the first time and learned more history and seen a train and what was left if a bridge von sonar, absolutely awesome.
It was neat, just a typical on location museum/history lesson
You can spend all day really Interesting history
Great family attraction away from crowded beaches.
A must visit in the Lake George area. Absolutely amazing.
Great place will be going back
Lots to see here. We had a great time. Took the tour and learned a lot. Huge collection of firearms.
Very beautiful fort that looks down from above onto lake Champlain. Entry price a bit too high in my opinion as it cost my family of 5 over $60 for our visit. They had a kids program which was a neat idea and my kids really wanted to complete it, though it wasn't overly well laid out. Two of the tasks you needed to complete were down in the Kings Garden and boat buidling shed which we visited upon entry to the site as they are geographically located closest to the entry gate. Tasks also took a lot of time as there was a line of older guests asking a million questions. Some of the workers also seemed annoyed by having to do the monotonous tasks over and over and thus didn't even explain to the kids what they were doing. In retrospect if I had to do it again I might have skipped this site and opted to do a national park service site like Saratoga instead as we didn't have enough time to do both. Saratoga is free and the NPS tends to always do a top notch job.
Great place to see history come alive
Excellent site of historical interest. The King's Garden was well maintained.
Great views of Lake. Fun fort
So immersive!! There are rooms that show what simple things like doing wash were like back in the day. Each room has a person in uniform completing the task that was to be completed in that room back in the 1700s. So many different things to do and see. Definitely one of the best forts I've ever seen.
My daughter will be learning about the American Revolution this year in school, and bringing her here has really brought the whole thing to life for her! We all enjoyed it!
The staff, the staff, the staff. That's what makes this such a good experience. We made it a point to speak at length with the staff, who went out of their way to educate and answer questions. We also enjoyed the World War I exhibit in the basement as well as the overall grounds during our visit July 5, 2019. Highly recommended. Perhaps I'm prejudiced towards this period; I served in the US Army as a member of the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps for five years; I wore a colonial uniform when performing for the public, and so I have a great amount of respect for those who wear hot uniforms in the summer heat!
There was a lot of swords and other cool stuff. A beautiful place but the difference tours said basically the same things. Service was ok
Great History and the staff know how to play their parts and are full of history of the fort and area.
Great place to visit, my wife and I spent hours there touring the Fort and grounds.
Great museum, great restoration of a historical site, excellent guides and beautiful grounds in a gorgeous location.
Visited here on our way back from Burlington VT to Rochester. Great place! Definitely look ahead of time at the scheduled events. We got to see the cannon shoot but didn’t have time for the tour so we self-guided, which was easy to do. Amazing history here and incredible artifacts. The view is also gorgeous!! Definitely plan to spend the day.
Excellent historic display and reenactors. They live as authentic soldiers did, carry out authentic activities, demonstrate arms, and interact and answer questions along the way. Well done!
Great bit of history and to know that the Fort, gardens and Mount Defiance are privately run and kept so we'll is amazing. The guides within the Fort and Kings garden were terrific and very knowledgeable. The state parks should take notice. The entrance fee was steep as many of the State run historical parks are free but the presentation and re-anactments made the fee worth while. A definite busy for anyone wanting to connect with the history of colonization, indepence and USA/Canada/British/France relationships
Very interesting and kept the kids attention
Very well preserved. Beautiful garden.
Great exhibit of American history!
Fun and very informative. The guides were very well versed in their knowledge of the Fort and era. Totally impressed they make they're own period shoes and clothes on site. We had a wonderful day. Don't miss the souvenir shop and restaurant. Delicious. Everyone was so nice.
Great young historical interpreters brought the place to life!
Its clean, authentic, fun and educational. It is really a good place to go if your looking for a historical place.
I had very high hopes for Fort Ti. This was supposed to be the Cadillac of forts. My wife and I came out fairly disappointed. The promise of so much to do, reenactments, period workers, and all were sorely lacking. We went on a Thursday, but shouldn't matter. The only people we saw dressed were drummers and flute players, and maybe three laborers, but that's it. No soldiers, no reenactments. Of the 2000 acres, there's a garden that's nice, but signage is fading as they cheaped out with the material. A boat ride is 1.5hrs, but tells little to history of the fort. The fort itself is okay, but its got a lot of rehab work to go, and top floor of one of the buildings was closed off. There were also a lot of hornets or wasps nested around that should have been addressed. The rest of the grounds are pretty much useless unless theres some reenactments going on, which there weren't that day. As a result, we got bored quick because after the gardens and buildings, there was little to see or do. Unfortunately 3 stars due to this. (EDIT: **To respond to the response from Fort Ti**): There was only one guided tour we saw, headed by the gentleman that was originally leading the drummers. There were no weapon firing demonstrations through the few hours we were there. We visited the exhibit space, but it doesn't take too long. As mentioned before, the "staff" inside the soldiers & officers barracks were literally three volunteers. One in each of the rooms, and very unenthusiastic. Mount Defiance was okay, but aside from the view, it was kind of disappointing with little to no relevance from Fort Ti. Few signs or plaques to learn the significance of Defiance. There honestly was not much to do if you go on a Thursday, little to nothing was going on. We counted two oxen, and the corn maze doesn't begin until August. Still disappointed.
Loved it great place to go and learn about the USA history I actually got to sleep and eat there with my Boy scout troop and had a great overall experience please go there with your family when you go to upstate New York to have a great overall experience
