Great tour friendly staff a little pricey for ice cream and merchandise.
Delicious samples will make you want to buy one of each
I don't really recommend driving out of your way to visit as they no longer have tours. The video was educational, but a poor substitute for seeing the action live. The good thing is the large number of cheese samples and the gift shop.
Huge selection of free samples, also really cheap high quality cheese
Cheese cheese cheese. Couldn't ask for more. Friendly informative staff and lots choices.
Need to go. Great place. Gone multiple times
Cheap tour and nice little shop. Is a bit small, however, can't complain!!
Stopped and enjoyed the out door museum. Went in and bought some tummies. Wonderful people in the gift shop and the tourist who were out side
Lovely place, great cheese. Interesting lecture on how cheese is produced.
Cheese samples were nice, but we weren't able to tour. They were expecting a bus and wouldn't let us tour unless we waited around with our 3 little kids for an hour. Yeah, 3 kids with nothing to do for an hour sounds like fun.
Nice small gift shop with a tasting area for their harder-to-find varieties. No longer give tours. Very friendly and helpful staff.
My husband is from VT but we have been in NC for 20 years and have never stopped by the visitors center. I am glad we did - the video was great to watch and we learned a lot about Cabot. The sampling of cheese was also great and the gift shop had a lot of nice Cabot and VT inspired items. I am glad we can get some of the cheese here in NC because we will continue to support Cabot for sure!
Enjoyed tasting a variety of flavored cheeses.
We love the cheddar, in all varieties! Gift shop is nice, but can get crowded fast when there's a tour bus there.
Nice place, very kid friendly. Excellent cheese and free samples!
They stopped giving tours:-( The educational video could be better
The tour was very cool! Hannah did a great job of explaining the processes. I love that it is a true co-op. There were so many cheeses to sample! The town of Cabot, VT is very quaint as well!
Great place to purchase cheese great service
Great place. Miss the tours. But great visit
One of fun places to go. You can see one fine products being made my wife and I had a good tme.
A wonderful tour and cheese tasting experience.
Cheese tastings! Very interesting cheese factor tour. They are now recycling all the whey liquid by pulling out the water and using it to wash down the equipment. As a nerd, this was pretty cool to see.
They no longer do tours of the creamery due to federal regulations but offer many delicious samples and an informative video.
While in Vermont on my honeymoon, my wife and I made it a priority to stop here, and we were not disappointed. The campus was beautiful rural farmland, and the facility was clean and orderly once we were inside. Guided tours are offered, which we paid to take part in - and they show you the entire cheese making process and answer all your question. Cameras are not allowed inside. Aside from that, they offer free recipes, cheese samples, and they sell cheese and other dairy products at low prices. Do yourselves a favor and visit.
Best cheese collection! You can also indulge on a large collection of samples.
My favorite cheese stop! A nice variety of unique gifts to for those "hard to buy for" folks can be found. The nicest and friendliest people work there! It is always a pleasure to shop at the creamery visiting center and WE LOVE CHEESE
It's sad they no longer have the walking tours inside the factory.
Is the tour anything that amazing? Not really. You watch a semi boring video, but afterwards you get to walk through the plant and if you're lucky there's some cheese being made. The best part? Is the tasting room. Technically you don't need to do the tour to taste the cheese, but for 2 bucks, you might as well. Love all the local other goodies they have in the shop.
I had a great time there they were so hospitable I would definitely suggest for others to go
Outstanding! I never thought I would find a cheddar cheese better than the old Red wax covered hoop cheese. Cabot's cheeses are the most perfect I have ever had the pleasure of partaking. I only wish I had purchased more than I already have. If you are a cheddar cheese lover as I am....treat yourself to the best! Cabot's is the best I have ever had! Happy Anniversary to your 100 years in the business. Your Texas Cheeses lovers, Yellow or White.....its all the same greatness!
They have a great tour available to see how their cheeses are made but call ahead to make sure that tours are happening on the day you want to visit. Lots of free samples too!
Nice place and fun little tour. Makes you feel good about the brand and the work that goes into making organic hormone free cheeses. The samples at the end make you want to buy all the cheeses!
The cheese is very good. And they let you taste all the different kinds they make. Their store has cheeses you might not be able to find where your from and the prices aren't too bad. Disappointed to find out they no longer do the tours of the factory anymore.
Great place to tour and plentiful samples. Recommended for any Vermont visitors.
Staff very friendly... cheese whats not to love. Watch the video and learn something new.
Friendly staff, educational and interesting tour. Oh yeah, great cheeses! Kids loved it too
One word describes that place YUMMY CHEESE
Great tour, love the cheese. Try the one with Meadows in the name, it's superb.
Good cheeses but tour wasn't much. Wouldn't go out of the way to visit
Loved the different type of cheese
I loved the amount of free samples that they offer to you. As for the tour itself, the video is really the only interesting part. It was very cute and informative. However, in terms of the actual factory "tour" it was less than impressive. It was about a 5-10 minute walk down a hall where you could look through windows at the workers doing their jobs. However, since we went early they wasn't really anything happening.
informative tour, and lots of free cheese samples!
I mean its Cabot, the best dairy producer in the US!
Factory tour was great for the family. Informative and they were running on the weekend. Samples were delicious.
I went with my grandson Kevin’s field trip to Cabot this morning. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed the tour. I tried several types of cheese and my favorite was Vermont Sharp. I bought a coffee cup and a T-Shirt from the gift shop. The cashier was very friendly and asked if I needed the cup wrapped in bubble wrap which I did. I would recommend this tour to anyone traveling through Cabot VT.
Nice place to visit on the way to other places in Vermont. Lot of cheese tasting, no more factory tours. Items on sale are worth the buy
Would be better if they still done the tours instead of the video but was nice
You acn no longer go on a tour, but it does not mean you cannot learn about the process or taste some wonderful cheeses!
Very nice, but small visitors center. Eat as many samples as you like! Unfortunately, the creamery does not give tours anymore due to federal health regulations, but the do show a nice video and hold a short question and answer session afterwards. The staff was friendly and very proud of their products. Plan on spending 1 to 2 hours here.
Great tour and great cheese. Only thing that could have been better is the prices in the store. Able to pick up the same cheese for a little less at my local store.
Given that it's a giant commercial for Cabot products, its actually pretty good. Lots of samples, and of course products for sale. Download the area maps, no cell service in the area.
I got to take one of the last tours. It was really cool to see how the cheese is made and learn how the cooperative farmers make this such a success. That said, it is worth a visit for the film and most of all for the cheese tasting. I bought a lot of cheese on my visit.
Yummy samples and cute shop
Excellent tour showing their cheese making process in an actual working cheese plant. The gift shop is nice as well with dozens of cheese samples available to try before you buy and a bunch of cute local Vermont products.
low cost option for a good family outing. We like visiting companies willing to offer tours. It was about an hour long, they have great cheese and many other products.
Visited here once before & look forward to many more visits. I helped on the Cabot Roadshow years ago, in east TN & was hooked on Cabot cheese since. Incredible cheese & an incredible company - what more could one ask for?!
While the staff seemed friendly and pushy at the same time, we really enjoyed our visit and the cheese samples. It was a shame that we we're not able to go on a factory tour due to new food security regulations, the free video tour was informative and worth the watch.b my favorite was the habenaro cheddar.
Construction work that's being held there is working out immaculate.....
I loved the cheese sampling and the video about their company and their products.
Loved it!!! You learn a lot about the cheese making process and what's not to love about free cheese samples. I even discovered my new favorite cheddar: Cabot Alpine Cheddar.
Favorite stop when I visit Vermont
Absolutely loved our first time visit, selection is massive, amazing prices/ the samples are great! We ended buying a ton of cheese, great shelf life 10 months!
This place had some awesome stuff in the gift shop and our tour guide knew her stuff. Very interesting place to go visit and very close to Montpelier.
Great selections of cheese
Good time to go. Yearly sale November 3-11th. 20% off Cabot brands.
Interesting place to visit and awesome cheddar!
Cute
definitely worth the visit. Many, many cheeses to sample. much more than what one sees in any grocery store. the history of the coop is good with very knowledgeable staff.
Hard to believe all the goodness which comes from this tiny little town. 100 years old! All kinda samples of cheese. Very informative video in the info room. It's easy to tell the staff really cares and believes in the mission.
If you love Cabot products then this is the spot! Awesome cheese tasting room that makes buying that much easier, plus the staff is friendly and helpful.
Free cheese tastings, reasonable prices, and we got to watch a video and learn about Cabot and it's history, would recommend if you are in central Vermont
Warm cheese. No tour, waste of time!!!
Here several years ago. Had full plant tour. Unfortunately, now just a video. But, still a great VT experience. Cheese shop, what's not to love!
Really good cheese and icecream was big
Awesome visit! They have all their cheeses you can sample and a variety of different food items. Everything Cabot made they have! If you love cheese go....and bring a cooler!
Was part of our Taste Vermont day. We were going to take the tour which they no longer offer. So unless you just want to sample/buy really good cheese no real reason to go. Luckily for us it was 30%off day and the lovely lady working there that day offered too make us a cheese and jelly plate so we could try the jellies. Not only delicious but we bought the onion jelly. If you are in the area worth the stop.
Many cheese samplers. Short movie about the business. Lots of edibles to buy. There were no tours but I didn't ask why. Could be just bad timing.
Great products!
Give me all the cheese! What a great place. Highly recommend for tourists and locals. We used to go do the tours with family that came to town but we still go to buy/taste cheese even now that the tours are no longer happening. seriously have been here 5+ times within the last year and keep returning.
Excellent creamery to visit. Love the cheese. Best cheese in the universe
Great service and products!!
Fantastic selection and sampling smorgasbord with excellent service.
Cool place
Thanks. Great facility. We purchase your products weekly. As a kid I milked 45 - 65 cow every morning before school. Be well...
They have simple little factory store. A lot of cheas. Nothing else to do in Cabot
Great tours. Free samples
Nice but the tour was so short and didn't get to take pictures.
Awesome place. They have a gift shop as you enter and you can watch an informational video on how the cheese is made, the different Cabot locations as well as how much dairy they go through daily. After the video (which is optional) you can try samples of a variety of different cheeses
I would have given it 5 stars if they still offered factory tours. There was a tasting area and you could purchase varieties that I hadn't seen at home.
Cabot Farms Pepper Jack Cheese, 2.5 pound, Price Farms, Sold at Costco, The only cheese I will ever need. All my neighbors love it also. Stop in and ask customer service to stock it. Costco customer Item Number: 171942.
Nice tour that was cheaply priced (a bonus!) and a cute little gift shop. They also offer special cheese not sold anywhere else (another bonus!). Staff is nice and friendly.
You can taste 26 varieties of Cabot cheeses. Excellent!
If you've never visited Cabot Cheese you must go. They give a great tour of the cheese factory and the have a sample station to taste all the cheese they make. I've been several times.
Such a fun tour. Great quick stop if you're in the area.
crowded, free cheese samples, very nice & knowledgeable employees. Quick tour but if you like cheese .....
Friendly staff.... but they changed the recipe of there old school aged cheddar...... its just not the same.
Well done tour of the cheese making facilities.
Great video and shop, just wished the tour was on!
Loved the tour and cheese samples. After visiting I found myself purchasing Cabot cheese locally. Try the different flavors!
we love this factory tour/outlet/shop. Friendly service, lots of yummy samples, easy parking for our camping trailer. We've probably been here 5 times (every time we visit Vermont)
best cheese in th world!!
Absolutely love Cabot cheese. I would definitely recommend trying their Alpine cheddar if you like more sharp and aged cheese.
fun place to visit and try great cheese
Good place for a tour if you are out and about... Just call ahead and ask if they are making cheese that day, so you can see the operation. The store is decent, with lots of samples, giving you the ability to compare different cheese's that they make/sell. Do be advised that one of the popular Google maps routes in does take you on a dirt/gravel road, it it ok, and has signs letting you know it is the correct way. Yes...This location is pretty remote, but when combined with a stop at Ben & Jerry's see the ice cream factory, it can be a good day.
Our 2nd vacation to Vermont and our 2nd trip to Cabot. We always stop by as we enjoy all the extra cheeses you can get that you can't find at your local retailer. Staff is friendly and personable. Stop by and I'm sure you'll find a flavor of cheese that's for you.
No trip is complete without a stop at Cabot. Come and sample just about every cheese Cabot sells for no charge and pick up gems you can't find in your local store like cave aged cheeses and five year aged cheddar. Plenty of non cheese goodies including craft beers, syrups, and more. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing through, or make a trip of it and visit the Apple orchard down the road and Ben and Jerry's factory. Yum
Awesome selection of cheddars to sample, short video of the company story, no tour but there’s a lookout window to the plant. Located in a beautiful village. Not busy when we came so they let us sample some of the preserve pairings. Everything was delicious.
Well organized tour of the original Cabot plant which makes a variety of cheeses and related products including collaborations with Jasper Hill and others.
This is a fun outing to see how cheese is made and has great free samples
Fun place. Cheese samples were awesome. Not too pricey either. Super friendly. The Seriously sharp cheddar rocks!
With the exception of the guide abandoning us for 15 minutes, the tour ended up being very informative and delightful. It definitely gave me a new appreciation for cheese and Cabot's products. If you're in the area, Cabot is worth a visit.
Short tour but nice clean facility, knowledgeable staff, and if you love cheddar you need to go at least once.
If you love cheese, you should stop by.
Unlimited cheese samples. Tour is interesting and you go into the actual factory part.
Decent tour. Lots of samples and nice gift shop. Worth a trip out of the way to visit
Very informative tour. Wonderful tasting room. Lots of VT products. Best cheese on the planet!
No tours anymore but their short video in their theater was interesting. the cheese sampling was nice, and there was a wide variety. nice gift shop - took home a handmade cutting board made of recycled marble. expected it to be upwards of $100 and it was only $30 - very good price! The jam and cheese pairing was a very nice addition (after watching the video they give you a sampler on a plate)
Sad they don't do the factory tours anymore but the video was very informative. Great selection of cheese samples. The store had a lot of wonderful items to buy
They have a lot of samples. You can buy the cheese you want with out guessing if you like it or not. They also have a ton of other locally farmed products.
Great visit. Decent tour. Lots of cheeses to sample.
I have been to here 5 times over the years..I love it here !!!
We went there 5or6 years ago, it hasn't changed except for the fact that there is no tour. It's a very small store with a good selection of Cabot cheese and a small selection of Vermont products
Nice facility where you can find a huge variety of Cabot cheese products as well as some other local food products. They have a large selection of cheeses you can sample which is nice. The tour itself was a bit of a letdown. You watch a short film about the Cabot Farmers and then spend about ten minutes walking around the plant. Our guide, while knowledgeable, didn't seem very friendly. If you are in need of a way to kill some time or really love cheese, this may be worth a visit, otherwise I'd take a pass on this one.
Cabot makes the best cheese. Worth the trip through the countryside.
Loved the place, I was confused why we had to put those blue things on and the tour guid didn't. I loved it
Nice little gift shop, the video was informative but very disappointed that there wasn't a factory tour. Cheese prices were less here than at some of the other stores in the area. Probably won't make the extra trip to go this far into VT again, will visit other factory stores closer to us in NY.
The tours used to be great. No tours prevents a 5.
We come from Massachusetts, so we know all about Cabot cheese, but we love to stop here to get the unusual varieties that we can't get around us.
I'm sad they are ending the tours, but it's understandable. Their visitors center has a great selection of local Vermont items as well as all of the Cabot product line. If you are in the area it is worth stopping by, the prices are 10-25% cheaper than the supermarket!
Small tour, small gift shop, but neat if you are nearby. Great staff!
Sarah and Skylar made our visit such a positive experience. They treated us so kindly and with such good energy. They invited us to try all the samples that caught our fancy, and they explained how the cheeses changed as they aged. They even encouraged us to watch the centennial video even though it meant they would be staying after closing time. They left us with even better feelings about Cabot than we came with. Bravo!
If your within an hour of Cabot you have to make the trip for the tour alone... never mind the cheese shop that will have you chasing "that" cheese you can't get at home. The history of the dairy farmers coming together to support each other was amazing. A hidden gem of New England.
Great stop for cheese and a host of other Vermont products. Very friendly staff.
The tour is very interesting, as is learning about the co-op. And of course they have a huge selection of the world's best cheddars plus samples!
This place should get ten stars. Always helpful and the best cheeses in the world. Cheese should be white not Orange.
The tour is interesting but not very long. There is also a huge selection of different Cabot cheeses to sample as well as to buy. We enjoyed ourselves and I'd recommend it. The whole experience took us about 30 minutes.
They aren't doing any more tours but it's a fun place to try different cheeses that you don't have to pay for that's how I found I like the Alpine cheese
Sample their variety of cheeses here! It's a quick and convenient stop. The drive there is peaceful and enjoyable as well.
I'm sad they don't do tours, but at least there's a video that explains their sources and processes. The staff were real friendly. The place was clean. They even had a nice selection of gifts, and different soup mixes, cheese cutting tools and cutting boards. Cabot has always been my favorite dairy. Whether it's for butter, cottage cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, American cheese, cheddar cheese, or anything else dairy, Cabot is simply the best. I love the orne meadow original farmer's blend. They're all good cheeses. You can sample them all after you watch the video. Good times
Best cheese on the planet. I love that you can try out all of the different types.
The best cheese.
Nice small place
The tour was well done and all of the staff very nice. The cheese tasting has a great variety to try as well!
Loved the tour and the way this co op is run. Very friendly staff and the cheese is so delicious.
Was sad no tours. Gift shop was pleasant and samples were yummy.
Old School Cheddar is the best! Lots of samples and friendly staff.
Good place to buy cheese
No yours anymore. Just a long and tiring video
Cheese, cheese, and more cheese!!! It was fantastic. Very nice staff and SO many goodies. Definitely worth the side trip.
Neat, lots of cheese samples and chachkis to buy. Take the Max Gray Rd. scenic detour to get there from Barre/Montpelier.
Great samples and the prices arent bad
They don't offer tours anymore due to changes in food sensation laws but they do have about a 10 minute video you can watch that explains the history. They offer lots of samples and the staff is extremely friendly.
Definitely not worth going out of your way for (and it is out of the way from anywhere as there is nothing else around)
The people that work there are very rude and impolite
This is the actual factory that makes the Cabot cheese. They also had cheese samples to try. I really enjoyed this place. Another must see place if you ever get to Vermont.
Not worth the trip hours out of the way, no longer has a tour, a 10 minute video you can watch on YouTube
A great place to visit. At the retail store, pick up a package of Old School- delicious sharp cheddar that is available nowhere else.
Always a pleasure to visit and try delicious cheese. Staff was friendly and helpful.
