How could anyone dislike a place like this? It's so beautiful. Be careful around edges. Wear sunscreen. Take pictures or please bring a painting canvas if you are an artist. The contrast of color is breathtaking.
One of my favorite National Parks/Monuments. Though it's small, there is plenty to see. A few different hikes for different landscapes and difficulties. Nice little visitor center with fun monument specific merchandise to purchase. Viewing the breaks from Spectra Point is awesome. Great sweeping views with some fun terrain to traverse. The Alpine Pond Loop was nice for a calm hike in the shade. Not a lot of traffic, no crazy crowds to fight like surrounding National Parks. Overall, an amazing place to visit.
Beautiful drive up. We hiked around the rim and the lower alpine pond trail with kids ages 7 and 9 and my parents. The trail on the rim has lots of loose gravel/sand and no rail or fence. It’s perfectly fine as long as you stay on the trail but kids not paying attention or people with balance may want to exercise caution. The lower pond trail was really pretty and not very long but was harder than advertised. My mother who isn’t in the best health anymore did the trail but it was Struggle for her. I enjoyed this park over Zion!
Spectacular views and diverse flora and fauna.
Very good place to visit. There is a 1 mile and 2 mile trail next to visitors center. Did the 1 mile trail it was good some elevation gain due to being 10k above sea level the air is thin. It is a good thing to do with family.
Beautiful view! Not to mention the amazing suprise of snow in JULY!
The view was amazing! 100% recommend.
Beautiful hikes. Not many people. Really feels undiscovered.
Mother earth at its finest.
So easy to see with ease. With a bad leg this week only did one hike, then drove to all other sites. Had no traffic or lines anywhere. Absolutely beautiful...everyone should see the unbelievable views.
Beauty unparalleled! Cold up there. Take a sweatshirt!
Nice hike to see wild flowers in the summer.
I think Cedar Breaks is very underrated. There are short hikes as well as backpacking hikes. You can camp or just drive through. It does cost to get in but the National Parks pass will cover it. Gorgeous scenery from Red Rock to Pines the scenery has plenty of variety for everyone. Only about a 20 minute drive from Cedar City to the park up SR14
Amazing! Simply amazing! No other destination can compete with what GOD & "Mother Nature" have created. Beautiful!
The National Paul was beautiful to visit in the winter. I would highly recommend wearing a heavy duty jacket. I will definitely be coming back to visit.
Spectacular views within a short distance from the parking lot.
Just completely beautiful. Easily accessed.
Breathtaking views - dog friendly hikes. I've lived in Utah almost 30 years and had never checked this place out - I wish I'd known about it sooner!!
Cost is $7 a person but free if you have a National Parks Pass. Beautiful drive and outlook view.
An amazing view and a great place to watch the sunset, this place is amazing!
Very high altitude. Stunning views. Near cedar breaks resort.
Gorgeous scenary of the red cliffs and hoodoos, plus beautiful alpine meadows. Peak wildflower bloom too!
Wonderful small hike to breathtaking views. You don't even have to hike the whole mile to see these views!!!
A wonderful Monument, very scenic and a great place to visit for a day. The campground is well run with beautiful views.
Beautiful park, less crowded than Zion and Bryce
Absolutely awesome views, unless you expected to see them after making the scenic road climb by bike! We rescued a cyclist and his riding buddy in Escante, and hoicked them over Bike Route 70 into Cedar City for a wheel repair, stopping at the scenic overlook for pictures.
So peaceful and the beauty is relaxing.
Cedar breaks is like a mini Bryce. With cooler temperatures, fantastic wildflowers and views; as well as ranger led activities.
I did not realize the elevation of this park at over 10k! It was really interesting to hear from the rangers about why this park is so similar to Bryce yet looks so different based on elevation and the variant weather and precipitation levels. Wildflowers really added a special nuance to the beauty here as well.
Pretty views. Some of the trails are more difficult so please read the suggestions on the visitor center on the difficulty. Enjoy!
Stunning views from the overlook. Summer temperatures are nice and cool up there.
Beautiful God's hand...
Beautiful views and they were working a fire the day we were there. Watched helicopters deliver water to the fire, which was cool to see.
It is so beautiful!! My girls loved the spectacular selfies they could take Lol!my husband loved the views & read the facts as we drove around the wonderfull National Park. The overlooks are paved ¬ to far from parking. See Cedar Breaks first, then drive an hour to Bryce Canyon. Absolutely Amazing!
Love coming home and spending time in the areas you really didn't appreciate when you live so close. Love e the views and the amazing temps above 10,000 feet.
Beautiful view and wildlife. Easy access and trails.
Mini Bryce Canyon without the crowds. If in the Zion Bryce area do not miss Cedar Breaks.
Not crowded. A mini Bryce Canyon.
Beautiful park. Nice and cool at higher elevation. They even have a paved hiking trail for the disabled.
Beautiful spot. Great hiking trails
Best place to see the milky way and stargazing
We arrived in Cedar City around 5:30 after a LONG day of travel and wanted to stretch our legs. The guy at the hotel check in recommend the Sunset hike at Cedar Breaks and after just 25 minutes in the car we arrived at the trail head. It is an ADA accessable paved trail which made for an easy one mile walk to the sunset overlook. Cedar Breaks features several drastically different looking landscapes. Fantastic way to end a travel day.
Went to Saturday Night Stargazing. It was very informational and absolutely breathtaking!! We viewed Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon from an Astrologist's telescope. Laser lights were used to point out constellations. Brilliant job by Cedar Breaks Park Rangers!!!
Stop along the way and get great views!
Under rated park. This place is awesome!
Small monument with minimal hiking trails. Due to snow they were closed but still a beautiful place to walk around and take pictures. Will definitely come back for wildflowers and night sky programs.
We attended the stargazing evening and we're amazed at the brightness of the Milky Way from Cedar Breaks. We also enjoyed hiking in the area.
It was just amazing, but go at sunset
Fantastic view. Breathtaking.
This is one of my favorite places in the world and a place that I take visitors whenever they come into town. The scenery is amazing all the way up the canyon - whether you hike to the overlook points or not, you still get amazing views. I would recommend visiting here to anybody - you’ll never see anything like it. In my opinion, the best time to go is summer-fall just before sunset to watch the sun go down. There’s also campsites and picnic spots not too far. It’s fairly close the Brian Head Ski Resort as well as Navajo Lake.
Must see if your traveling thru or near by. So breath taking!
Cannot find a more scenic spot! Meadows surrounding the campground and breathtaking canyon views a half mile stroll away!
Beautiful place to watch a sunset, only a few minutes detour of the highway.
This area offers a beautiful overlook to classic southern Utah scenery. They're also a few hikes nearby inside the monument that have wonderful scenery and are well kept
Absolutely worth the price and the drive. Don't miss out.
I can't wait to get back and go exploring. It was a bit too chilly when we went so we didn't really get out. There are different overlooks and trails to walk around and enjoy the view.
Just as great as Bryce Canyon,. Only on a smaller scale.
Cedar Breaks is a fun, easy hike to a lovely overlook. My kids love it. I highly recommend including as part of your visit to Cedar City.
What a beautiful place to visit. But why are you charging for entry? Some people pay some just walk on by. What is the point?
It is a great place for a day trip. The hike out Ramparts Trail had great views, though it is an upward climb on the way back. Keep in mind that you are also at 10,000 feet. Bring plenty of water.
Beautiful area and not nearly as crowded as the other ones in the area. Well worth a visit.
How can you rate a natural wonder less than 5 stars? :)
Visit the location during Spring break. When we got to Cedar breaks the snow was still coming down but not sticking it made for beautiful scenery. The road to the monument was open but the pathway was closed. I parked and we had to walk through 3' of snow to get to the overlook. Once we got there the views were stunning. Definitely a place to visit when there's snow on the ground.
Another fabulous national monument. The visitor center is situated right next to a gorgeous overlook. We took our family on the two miles round-trip Sunset Loop. It was easy, with a completely paved walkway all the way. There's even a water station where you can fill up your water bottles. Since the park is higher than 10,000 feet in elevation it's a great place to escape the heat and it's an easy 30 minute drive from Cedar City, Utah. Highly recommend!
The sunset here is absolutely breathtaking. It is one of my favorite places to go see. If you go when the office is closed it is free to go onto the paved part. Of course its also good to pay and give money to the national parks. The campgrounds have running water.
Incredible scenery. Incredible colors. The high elevation is a great way to beat the heat.
Love to sit a hear the wind through the trees
Very beautiful. Nature at it's finest.
It was breath taking but really dress in layers really cold at 10,000 ft. Elevation. But just gorgeous.
If you are in the area for Zion definitely check out the views here! And go for the 4 mile hike. Tough hills at the elevation but the views are worth it!
The Alpine meadow was almost as spectacular.
We ent for the star party, it was great we got to see Jupiter and four of its moons, Saturn and it rings and many other celestial bodies.
If you dont feel insignificant in the whole scheme after visiting here then youve missed the point. 90 mil yrs ago the seas were lapping at the base of the lookouts. Check out the sun scopes to while ur there.
Friendly staff and amazing nature.
Amazing view and hike it was less crowded than Bryce and I enjoyed that there where less people here.
This place is as beautiful as Bryce with a fraction of the popularity. This means if you go at the right time of year you get it all to yourself. Well I say yourself, go morning or night you have to share with the local deer.
This place is awesome. A lesser known tourist area that you need to visit. Beautiful!
What a secret. Few crowds and able to look around and see some really cool canyons.
Loved it. Not many crowds. Good temp.
This is one of many absolutely gorgeous places I have been to in my life. In the winter the place is hopping with skiiers,ATVriders, Snowboarders, Hikers and All around Lookie Loo's. If you love beautiful places, Cedar Breaks should definitely be near the top of your Bucket List.
Beautiful! With the Wildflower Festival going on, extra NPS volunteers were available. Some trails were closed, but inadequately signed.
This is a close drive from cedar city. There is construction in cedar canyon and if your going up, check to see if they are still doing construction as that added another 45 minutes. Since it’s a national park now, you have to pay to go into the parking lot and see the overlook. We just drive by and go to one of the overlooks after the main area as you can just drive by and don’t have to pay to drive through. There are three overlooks and the picture are from the last overlook on the way to Brian head.
It was beautiful. Great hiking and scenery.
Unexpected & beautiful. So much to see in southern Utah!
Stunning views!! Lucky to live in Southern Utah!
It's a bit like a baby Bryce Canyon! Smaller, but with less people. Nice escape from the city heat, in the middle of June the trails and forests are still covered in snow. The ranger was friendly, showed us the telescope and told us about the night sky program. Visitor center was a little bit busy, but the view points along the road were mostly empty.
Gorgeous! Definitely do the mile hike by the visitor center.
Great viewpoint with fresh water fill up! Little shop on the way.
A national monument with spectacular views and most hiking trails are family friendly and relatively short, around 1 to 2 miles each. Staff is friendly and informative. Since it's a national monument it doesn't get crowded like Zion or Arches National Parks.
Absolutely stunning views. Just a short and very scenic drive up from Cedar City!
Nice place. Did not get to see much. Only the main road was open due to the large amount of snow fall. We only saw one overlook. Might give it more stars if I could have seen more.
Great Scenic stop. If you're visiting Brian Head Resort anyways.
Great views and star gazing.
Great place to stop if you're driving through
Absolutely breathtaking! There was still a fair amount of snow, so wasn't really able to complete the hike I wanted to but the lookouts were truly amazing.
Beautiful view. It is like a mini Bryce.
Not too many people here! Still lots of snow here in June most wet years. Freezing! Fresh air! Perfect for beating the summer heat!
Beautiful views. And a great ride on the Harley
Amazing views! Definitely check it out if you're in the area!
Phenomenal views and the staff were very friendly.
Beautiful can't wait to go again
Beautiful place to stop.
Easy access to beautiful vistas overlooking the amphitheater. Great presentation by the park ranger on the geological history of the area. We visited Cedar Breaks in the last week of June but unfortunately, all the trails were still closed due to snow!
Highest point of the grand staircase. In early June, fantastic snow-filled red canyons 10,000 feet above sea level!
Can you say STUNNING! Don't skip this place, it's a treasure! Don't miss the star gazing parties in the summer!
Interesting way out there
10,000 feet and wow. Need to see this to appreciate the true beauty of this place. Worth the time to visit.
A very cool little place to stop and check out.
Yet another amazing view...we love it here!
Some of the most beautiful scenery in the world!
Beautiful place! You will not be disappointed
Very pretty place. Looks a lot like Bryce Canyon. Several hiking trails.
It's a beautiful view and the sunset is amazing.
Beautiful place to stop and view and take pictures.
Red rock beauty with a panarama view and very easy access for the view overlooking the canyon..ie... Handicap access.
Well kept, great trails, star parties, dark sky site, beautiful in every respect.
Wonderful park, there are hikes of all difficulty levels and most of the views are even accessible without hiking if you just want to see the sights. There are some great programs as well - I recommend the star parties they do during the summer. They do great presentations about space and the constellations, and have telescopes to look at planets. It's a great place!
Of all creatures to see this far inland, 4 Condors were perched just off of Spectral point as we hiked into the area! Breathtaking is all I could say! What a sight to see the wingspan on these birds as they flew across the canyon. The hike was fun with visiting with people from around the world as well as the United States. Very much recommended for a must see!
Amazing. Less crowded than the nearby national parks and the scenery is jaw dropping. Wildflowers plentiful in mid-August at this high elevation.
Breath taking views everywhere. Well groomed trails, plenty of parking, beautiful drive up there. An absolute must for anyone in the area. If you love the outdoors then you simply must go. Ramparts trail is excellent, and the views from the end are stunning to say the least.
Absolutely Beautiful! Worth stopping and taking a look!
Breath taking views! This area starting here, over to Zions, Bryce, further..., and ending with the Grand Canyon is all cut from the same gorgeous (rocky!) cloth. High red rocks, white rock tops, and green forest all around is truly beautiful and so amazing. We visited Chessman Ridge Overlook and the Visitor Center in their 1930's historic log cabin. Both were fantastic! Month of June and still 6 feet of snow in places and cut back from along the road, but at 10,400ft really not surprising. Unfortunately because of the snow trails were snowed over and closed. Que sera. Still so must to see. Visitor center is not real big, but park rangers there are exceptionally nice and helpful. Plus we all left with souvenirs. Must see!
It's a really nice place to be. Extremely breathtaking. Trails are nice too. Also the flowers are cool.
Went here for the Wild at Heart Men's Retreat. Loved the colors and natural beauty of the geography. Didn't realize that there would be no cell phone service. No way to let my wife know.
One of the most incredible places I have been in my life situated at about 11 thousand feet with snow on the ground in July and beautiful surroundings. There are even volcanic eruptions all around the area.
Gorgeous place, the park have a good infrastructure and the rangers treat us very well
Spectacular views, great place for hiking, camping and enjoy nature.
Disappointed that we visited too early in the season when there was so much snow on the ground. Kids enjoyed the snow! Beautiful area and scenic views.
Spectacular view although limited. Nothing in comparison to Bryce, Zion and the Grand Canyon. There are some good trails.
Stunning landscape. The pictures do no do it justice
Small but quaint park. But winter is still hanging on and no trails were open. Can see the hoodoos without the crowds!
Seriously underrated park! Breathtaking and so worth the drive.
Spectacular views. Be sure you can handle the altitude though as you will be driving up to 10,000 feet.
This is one of the most beautiful national parks in Utah. The altitude is over 10,000 feet. After viewing Cedar Breaks, we went to Aunt Sue Chalet for lunch. It was good as usual.
Just enough off the beaten path, but still accessible easily. See cascade falls!!!!
Beautiful. Take all my guests there.
A breathtaking view of some marvelous geological formations. This national park will not disappoint. There was even a little ground squirrel which entertained use while eating some roots and tree bark. If you don't have the money to purchase the entrance fee, drive another .5 miles up the road and will see a very similar view which was just as breathtaking.
One of the coolest places I have been! Definitely put it on your trip plans in Utah.
This is the second time I seen this beautiful mountains beautiful green colors what's nature best got to see deers close up and chipmunks playing hide and seek with me good to see people smiling off their cell phones enjoy what life is all about nature thank you for all that you do my eyes have seen the glory
We come here almost everytime we travel to southern Utah! It's a family fave! We also did a hike nearby which was lots of fun and good for all levels
Easy access. Breathtakingly beautiful!
Highly recommend! Makr camping reservations. Easy to get to view points of the beautiful Cedar Breaksb especially at sunset.
The night skies here are stunning, and there are lots of wonderful vistas.
High, wacky geology, awesome views from top, friendly staff.
Absolutely beautiful. Keep in mind the elevation when going for hikes.
I love Cedar Breaks National Monument. I love taking the Rampart trail home early in the morning.
it's an amazing place to share with Family.
Breathtaking scenery, well maintained pathways... next time we're camping here!
