REVIEWS OF Capitol Reef National Park IN Utah

Gwen Campbell

The Chimney Rock hike is a good one. Great views, easy switchbacks, no big drop offs if you have a fear of heights, which I do. It's a great hike with great views!

Rebecca Kent

Beautiful park! Must see. No fees for individuals, but educational groups require fee waiver now.

ginny williford

This park is AWESOME! It had the best views of striations in the rocks to help you understand the laying down of sediment and the plates shifting over time. The colors were spectacular. The Capital Gorge hike is breathtaking, and not to be missed. When you're done, don't miss a desert stop at the Gifford House - the home made mini pies are delicious.

Mary Stason

Dramatic views. Loved being able to get right up in these canyons and really explore.

Paula Helmly-Parker

We're live all the national parks. This is a smaller lesser known park. Still beautiful.

Nishal Ram

Beautiful area with the other national parks around.

Dannie Metzger

Don't ever pass up a chance to see a National Park. Capital Reef has so many colors of rock to enjoy and every turn brings awe inspiring views. Lots of places for bathroom breaks with well maintained toilet facilities. Take your time and enjoy all it has to offer. Pack a lunch and lots of water and plan on some serious hiking if you want. Short hikes or long hikes or anything in between.

Donna Smith

What a great park. Lots of wonderful trails and beautiful scenery. The Gifford House is a place you have to go to. They have delicious pies, cinnamon rolls and sourdough bread as well as cookies, ice cream, coffee, etc. There is a great campground as well. We enjoyed picking apricots in the UPick orchards. It only cost $1 for a pound or you can eat them straight off the tree for free! If you haven't thought about this park, you should add it to your list as a must see.

John Vogt

Great park, the drive through alone is pretty incredible. They have some old fruit farms near the visitor center. If you have an off road vehicle theirs a lot to do. Not sure hiking wise how great things are, but still a must see if your nearby.

Joshua Haveman

This is an interesting National Park in that many things can be seen from the car, and the views are spectacular. The visitors center sits on a creek that can be hiked if you are interested in a short walk. Be aware that this park is quite a drive from any sizable town.

Larry Ward

Lots of fun. We hiked Navajo for the sunrise. Amazing view but fairly difficult. Lots of other hiking activities.

Christina Fernandez

Beautiful red rock, a small arch, and definitely less crowded than other national parks. There was a cute little town just outside of the park that had gift shops, a nice deli, and plenty of places to stay the night. I'll definitely go back for a longer stay.

Lynn Ventura

Unbelievably awesome! Those sheer rock walle, deep canyons & vast expanses of rock are just incredible!

Tom Mosher

Beautiful, special place!

thifty bill

One of the less popular UT NPs, a hidden gem for sure. Close to Highway 12, which is the most scenic drive in the USA (IMHO). Also close to Torrey, UT, a nice small town with good restaurants. Camping is first come, first served, so even though its not as popular, getting a campsite is a challenge (small campground).

kelleigh miller

Great lesser known national park. Lots of easy hikes as well as challenging canyoneering for all levels of experience.

Philip McCracken

Geologically interesting place. FYI Stay farther than 30 from the openings of the old Oyler Uranium mines. Radiation at 12 feet is at least 500 CPM.

Mickelle

Love this park!! It's super underrated and it's so fun and so beautiful here. It's also not very busy here and there are lots of orchards around where they actually let you pick your own fruit. I would definitely come back to this beautiful park. I also suggest camping right in the park, there's a fun little campground and the rangers do night-time presentations that are so fun!

Gloria Pasko

A beautiful place you must visit

James Thompson

One of Utah's somewhat secret gems. Somewhat out of the way but worth the trip! Not nearly as choked with people as the more popular Zion and Bryce Canyon but just as beautiful with VERY accessible hiking and sightseeing. You can do everything from a simple 1 mile hike to Hickman Bridge or a short hike down the Great Wash to a more challenging slog up to Navajo Knobs with absolutely killer panoramas.

Andrew Vukich

Such a great park. Remote, yet accessible. An amazing gem no matter what your age or capability.

Joe

Wish we would have more time to stay here, but one of my favorite parks in Utah. We were able to see some of northern half of the park and the southern half off of the Burr Trail. Some unbelievable views for miles!

Cat Warren

Some of the last land to be described in the USA, and you will see why. The landscape is alien and forbidding, and moving a horse through would be very slow going. This and Staircase form an incredible landscape for the adventurous, with lovely hikes through colorful and variable gorges and canyons. Just make sure to bring plenty of water and tell a friend where you're going, and check the weather to be sure the hikes you want to do are safe to attempt that day, with no risk of flash flooding.

Rosie Jones

Although beautiful, it’s like another Arches National Park, but Arches has more to do and it’s more accessible.

Jennessa Piccirilli

Gorgeous park, well maintained. Recommend Sulfer Creek trail for those more adventurous, total of about 9 miles through desert, waterfalls, and creeks.

Melanie Wempe

The pies at the Gifford Homestead are so good. And the scenic drive is a great way to see the landscape from your car.

Elisabeth Lee

Gorgeous! Only got to pass through, but can't wait to go back again!

Jim Weisel

Outstanding park and views. Park Creek road out the back side of park at end oc the scenic drive is definately a 4wd only trail but overall on a dry day a moderate 4wd road. If you have 4wd experience and a solid high clearance 4wd, it is a very reasonable drive and a lot of fun.

Summers Vincent

Whoa! This place is amazing. So much to see. Stop in at the Gifford house for a homemade pie and enjoy the magnificent scenery. Plus no park entry fee

Andrea Carter

We are still talking about our visit to Utah! We hiked in the canyon near the Gifford homestead, it had rained two days before our visit so the cacti were all in flower. A sight to behold.

Mike Privette

The best kept secret in Utah. Absolutely loved this place. Stunning scenery!

rachelle brady

Best place to walk, hike, see petroglyphs. no fee, great hikes.. don't forget the water

sue dunbar

Incredible history and geological formations. Drive the side roads to go into slot canyons

Brandon Prime

Beautiful park. Nice campgrounds.

Lauren Webster

Gorgeous, stunning views of red rock cliffs. Historic fruit orchards you can pick fruit from. Nice visitor center with movie & cute gift shop. Nice hikes. Trail with petroglyphs. Historic homes.

Greg Secrist

Nice little National Park. Plenty of hikes to choose from. Easy to drive and see everything in a day's time.

Kate Gillispie

Gorgeous scenery viewable from the road. Several easy hikes as well as longer ones. Unusual rock formations. Nice ranger staff and small, but good visitor center with a movie. Delicious pies, and great views from the picnic area at the Gifford House. No loop road, though, so be aware you have to do two out-and-back drives to see the best sites. Not a very long distance either way, though. Much of the park can be seen before you get to the toll station. WELL worth stopping for a few hours. I was surprised at how amazing the park is.

Craig Casper

This is my new favorite national Park. It is exactly what a national park should be... Amazing views, solidarity, nature and some great hikes. Drive time... This is the closest park to Salt Lake City, but you would never guess it by how few people were there. We went on the National Park Service birthday, so entrance was free... Still, hardly anyone there. I did not have trouble finding a single parking spot at any trail head or at the visitors center. My one piece of advice would be to start your hikes early, as there is very little shade on any trail we did. Bring lots of water. More than what you think you will need. I can't wait to go back.

Bryce Hamblin

This place is a really cool place to see if you want to get at a less crowded area. The facilities are too small to have the crowd sometimes but you can get away if willing to travel or see some awesome place with only a couple of people in the area.

Richard Cramer

The jaw dropping beauty of this park is amazing. Somewhat similar to Zions Nat'l park but on a larger scale. I recommend taking some of the back country roads. Four wheel drive or high clearance vehicles are a must on some, but not all of the back country roads so choose your route carefully.

Randy Miller

Our group stopped here for a visit and it was simply magnificent! Stunning views from every point you look at. So many opportunities to take post card quality photos! There are boardwalks and plenty of areas to get great vantage points. Be sure to look closely at the walls for writings from the past. The area also is currently offering a plentiful crop of apples and pears that you can pick on your own!! Delicious!!

Wes McCall

Great scenery of Mesozoic Age strata along the escarpment. Rugged geology makes for great views & photos. Scenic road a nice 20 mile round trip bike ride along winding hills with stunning scenery.

Greg Boullin

Mind-blowing how stunning this national park is. Can recommend heading to Gifford House for a locally baked pie for breakfast before working it off and doing Cohab Canyon trail and the viewpoints before enjoying the scenic drive and apple & pear picking in the orchards!

Jason Davis

This place was like a diamond in the rough! So cool to learn about these hidden treasures tucked away in what otherwise looks like a foreboding, inhabitable landscape. It was really neat to be able to pick some fruit and venture down some cool canyon trails.

Eva Eriksen

This is a wonderful park! Take all the side roads that are open. If you're looking for a place to stay, I highly recommend Motel Torrey in the town of Torrey just outside the park. And, they take pets.

Laura Brody

We preferred Capitol Reef to both Bryce and the Grand Canyon! We appreciated that it was less touristy and gave a more secluded feel. Such a beautiful place!

Ian Allen

A beautiful showcase of Utah’s fantastic scenery—Capitol Reef is a great place to visit when touring the state’s national parks. It’s a little less crowded than other parks and so you can enjoy the scenery without the huge crowds. What’s particularly interesting about this park is the way the landscape has changed and evolved over time—I’d recommend stopping in the visitor center to learn more. When we came they weren’t checking for park passes or anything so you could drive right in but unfortunately we didn’t get one of the maps we got at the other parks. We followed the appropriately named “scenic drive” which takes you through a very beautiful section of the parka where you can see a lot of geological variation. This park also has some cute spots for picnics! Highly recommend visiting!

Anna Pelino

Some of the most beautiful rock in America

Sean Porter

This national park is very underrated. It's not crowded and worth just as much time as any other park around it. We took the Monument Valley trail all around and was not dissapointed.

Paul Bramble

Quaint area to visit.

Hilary Neilson

This park is underrated but that means its the least visited of the utah parks. I say its worth a trip! Cool canyon trails and the cassidy arch make this worthwhile. Looks like castles!

Matias Nieves

Such a beautiful place I would recommend to everyone. It's such a historic place to visit and to get to know about the past. It's a very large area to visit and hike around. Except I so have to say that the visitor center is always filled but if your just coming to visit there's many things to learn there. 5/5 would reccomend again.

Chase_Rocks_101

One of my favorite national parks in Utah. Would recommend visiting.

Marca Horn

This was a sacred peaceful place. imagine the history. It was neat to see the petroglyphs

Tomasz Wejman

Great national park with wide varaiety of rocks in terms of their colors and shapes. Amazing petroglyphs are another attraction in this park.

Jennifer McCoy

Absolutely stunning. It was snowing when we visited this time, and then raining, which gave it a completely different vibe than usual.

logan lindeman

Capitol Reef is a great park! There is a wide variety of hikes and a lot to do and see. One of my favorite things about the park is very few crowds. There’s no monster parking lots full of tour buses. The entrance to the park is just a gate. Many of the trails are peaceful and empty. Capitol Reef feels like a National Park should.

Josh Thornton

I feel like this park is underrated, simply because it is surround by other amazing parks. Worth a visit, especially if you want to avoid some of the crowds at other parks.

John Parsons

Awesome and fun for the family! Plenty of hikes to do. Could hike as much or as little as you want and see lots of cool stuff.

Jo Murray

Omg what a beautiful park. Artbyjo Touring America and Canada one small town at a time and National park

Mary Jane Horner

Awesome connection to our past.. amazing how they lived, connecting to earth and natural life as they did.

Roger LaForge

Worth a visit, however after Arches and Canyon Land much the same rocks.

Jane Macpherson

I think this is the prettiest national park in utah

Stephanie Sumulong

This is definitely off the beaten path. You won't find very many crowds which is great. Lots of good hikes for kids, picnic areas and very cool rock formations.

Bruce Calkins

Loved the views and stayed in Drinks Canyon campground. Very nice.

Vicky Ray

Awesome so beautiful,

Nghia Tran

My group stayed 2 nights in the Halls Creek narrows. Really wish the trail had markers to let us know how far we were, but we knew what we were getting ourselves into. The trail is much longer than it says. Beautiful place, though.

Sanjay B Dalal

The surreal structures of this majestic national park make for a most memorable journey. The towering walls, deep canyons, sharp spires, esoteric rock formations, unreal arches, fruit orchards, and rich historical hieroglyphs make this an unforgettable park on your visit to Utah. At first, you may get the impression that there’s not much to see or do. But make no mistake. This park offers so much to explore and do that it requires careful planning and time to see everything. One needs at least two days and then some to truly enjoy the magical scenery this park offers. The best part though is after the sun sets and calls it a night. The incredible night sky brings to life tens of thousands is stars and the one and only, the magnificent Milky Way. Seeing is believing and you are guaranteed to be blown away! One of the best kept secrets in Utah.

Neil Cooper

Wow wow so much to see and do get out and explore Utah is amazing

Nathan Stuart

Great hiking trails! It rained while we were there so many paths were closed off for safety, which is understandable.

Sandra Lundell

Great little park to visit! Not nearly as crowded as the other parks around here. We are really glad we came. (Stay in Torrey at Schoolhouse B&B!)

Mark Johnson

Great np... awesome hike to Hickman bridge ..we saw big horn sheep on the scenic drive today...not as crowded as many other np but so beautiful

Sterling Tucker

Nice place to stay and see red rocks.

Cole Neilson

Capitol Reef is one of my favorite places to go on vacation. Me and my best friends go every year over spring break and it's always a blast. The hikes are extremely fun and always breathtaking.

Jack Marshall

Beautiful without the crowds of some other National Parks in UT.

Jeff Lommel

Great park with well marked trails. Easy to get away from it all.

Cyrious Living

This national park surprised me. It is smaller by acreage than most national parks. But there was some impressive vistas packed into it. We hiked the Canyon trail that allows you to walk down the wash where the water flows at certain times of year, and walk between towering rock walls on either side. The drive to the hike was impressive in and of itself. In the early 1900's it was common for people to chisel their names into the rock walls, so you can see some names from people that were there 100 years ago. The national park encompassed some what was originally orchard farming land. There are orchards that grow apples and apricots. The old farm in the park has been converted to a tourist knick knack shop that also sells some tasty single serving pies. Overall lots to do and see in this gorgeous national park. Definitely worth the trek.

David Forester

A great park with spectacular views of interesting geology and wonderful dark night skies full of stars. There are also orchards where you can pick your own fresh fruit.

Richard Petraski

Spent a short amount of time here but the hikes were worth it. Different from the places before in the same region. The apple and peach orchard were interesting and unexpected.

Stephen Zahradnik

Excellent natty park for the winter. Great trails to hike. If you are there at the right season you can pick fruit from the orchards.

Trudi Borden

Not overly crowded. Such a spectacular place. I suggest going on a guided tour of Cathedral Valley!

Jo S

Makes you feel very small. The beauty is beyond words. A must see.

Logan Bentley

We love it here. The campground is great, the Backcountry is great, the stars are amazing, the canyoneering is great, and it's not as crowded.

Deep Chatterjee

Infrastructure is not as good as bigger parks in Utah, like Arches. But that's why I liked it. You can drive through unpaved roads in between gorges. Having a vehicle with good ground clearance is an advantage. Hikes are beautiful. Remember to bring lots of water.

Big RBTrout

Spectacular scenery! Petroglyphs were way cool. Really neat place to visit. I would have loved to be able to hike around it more.

JJ Kemp

Beautiful. A real gem.

Scott Butler

Beautiful, secluded, quiet. Not many people in February, but still inviting and captivating. A forgotten and overlooked jewel of Utah's public lands.

T J Pfahler

Wish I could hike more. Canyon walls are impressive

Seungjun Baek

It was nice. When we were there, the US government was shut down, so the park was not well managed. But the greatness of nature could not be hidden, and I thought that the more I drive, the more likely I was in the movie. There is definitely a charm here, but I personally like Canyonlands. There is a place in the rock where an old, worn-out picture is drawn. Search well!

Mark Weber

Stunningly beautiful with a fun, historical area of Fruita. Great hiking and scenic drives.

Corinna G

Trails with petroglyphs. Historic homes. The roads wander through canyons and the shadows and colors evolve as the sun moves across. The camp is nice with fruit trees around but make sure you get there at Harvest Time. The scenic drives allows to you see the beauty of the park as a lot of this park is back country. When you're done, don't miss a desert stop at the Gifford House - the home made mini pies are delicious. 5/5 would reccomend again.

Chuck Monroe

Southwest Utah, Capitol Reef National Park is one of a kind of awesome national parks in southwest Utah. Totally worth the effort to get there.

Kelton Jacobsen

Best National Park in Utah. Hands down. Don't have to fight the crowds like Zion and Arches. Hikes are far better than Bryce and Canyonlands. We camped and it was perfect.

Hank Cheng

A very unique national park. It would be awesome if you have an all wheel drive so that you can access more places via the dirt road.

Shafter Johnston

Scenic drive, but not my favorite by far. We visited in late May and the park was extremely busy. Canyonlands is much better, with much more to see & do.

Liliana Grover

The history surrounding this Park is amazing. Learning about it adds a sense of sacredness to the journey. You almost feel like you are walking back in time.

Jack Merkle

Not a lot of paved roads to see the wonders of the park. Wouldn't make a special trip to Capitol Reef but recommend stopping if you are going to Bryce Canyon. Unpaved tours would probably offer a better experience. What we did see was impressive.

Rodney Adams

Great scenery, great trails, loved the petroglyph.

Alex Lopez

Beautiful views. Every angle is perfect for nature photography.

Robert Japikse

Don't tell everyone that this is a great park. The scenic drive is just in and out, but there are also two dirt roads that can be traversed by a normal car that are very interesting. The roads wander through canyons and the shadows and colors evolve as the sun moves across the sky making it worth several trips through the park at different times of the day. Also some interesting stops outside of the parks borders.

Christian Andrew Moulton

Fantastic combo of geology and frontier life. Beautiful campground. No showers.

Michael White

Not at the top of the list of Utah's national parks but still different enough that it's with seeing. We pretty much seen most of it in 2 days.

Christopher Elsberry

While out of the way from everything else, we were there in the summer on a Saturday and it super easy to get around as there was little crowds. The beauty is amazing and offers dramatic views like Zion and Bryce but without the crowds. The scenic drives allows to you see the beauty of the park as a lot of this park is back country. If you time, it's worth stopping to do a couple of the short hikes and walk through the orchards.

D E

Worth a stop if you're crossing the Interstate-70. Stunning views. High temperatures during the summer so have your sunscreen, hat, a cold beverage, sunglasses, and a camera on hand. Not a ton of traffic, which was a plus.

Mark Ahrens

The beauty of this national park is literally indescribable. Pictures simply cannot capture it's essence.

Puneet Gandhi

If you like you can stay on Hwy 24 and skip the 10 mile scenic drive. That road is open with no park fees. Capital dome - some hikes and panorama point are still accessible.

Melva Ferguson

Incredible place! Vast, spectacular views! A must see while in Utah

Kurt Wieland

Really liked this park. Perhaps more than Zion or Bryce. Really family friendly and the pies are freaking nuts... I know that's an odd statement but trust me... the trails are generally moderate all things considered. Oh the campground is top notch with a ton of shade considering you're in the desert...

Nathan May

This is my favorite national park in Utah. It does not have the crowds like the other ones, and the views are spectacular! I recommend the Cassidy Arch and Hickman Bridge trails.

Robin Hibbard

Lots see. Chimney Rock loop and Hickman bridge are great.

S P

Very Beautiful in Sunny Day but at the evening sunset time

Steven Schultz

We only explore a small portion of the park due to our personal time constraints. We stopped by on our way home from a vacation and only had a few hours to explore. We did do the U-Pick fruit and got super ready to eat apricots for a $1 a pound, if we had more time it was $20 for a bushell or 50 lbs. Which comes out to $.40 cents a lb! That is super cheap. And hardly anyone was picking them.

Corby B.

This is a wonderful Park. Plenty of hiking trails to go around. You can see wildlife, petroglyphs, old Pioneer names on the walls. The red rocks are spectacular. You could Venture into small towns to get great food. Camping is wonderful. Go in the fall and pick apples.

Steve Hurd

Lots of beautiful rock formations and other activities to see and do. Not too crowded compared to other national parks, but parking can be tricky as it gets busier.

Holly Morris

It's a geologist's paradise but even if you're not a geologist, this park will boggle your mind in terms of rock formations. Be sure to visit the visitor center and catch a ranger presentation on geology if you can

Loriann Lorik

Great hiking trails for every ability. Unbelievable sites. Breathtakingly beautiful!

Wendy Blanchard

Beautiful destination! Hiking trails for all levels and fruit orchards where you can pick your own fruit.

Amy Hanson

Always live coming to hike and explore Capitol Reef!! The visitor center is a great place to start and make sure to watch the video there! We did most of the hiking trails as well! Our visit was over the 4th of July, so a little warmer weather. But, we did a hike in the early morning and at sunset to combat the warmth. In the afternoon we did the lookouts and historic sites. Great lace for young and old!!

Paul Jongedyk

Capital Reef NP is so beautiful. Really good hiking with unbelievable views and scenery. The hikes around Chimney Rock and Hickman Bridge are fun hikes and well worth the effort. So much to see and do that it will require another visit or two or three.

AJ Dumas

Such a beautiful park! Not crowded at all and everything for miles in the surrounding area is a sight to see!

MIHA DOLER

Nice trails. Beautiful scenery

Jackson Lloyd

Going to Capital Reef was one of my favorite weekends of camping! We went to an outdoor concert just outside the park and then spent the next day hiking and exploring. The park is so beautiful and allows for so much exploring and wandering and hiking. There are so many cool cliff ledges that jut out and make for awesome pictures. I would highly recommend spending a weekend in Capital Reef!

Nikita G

Beautiful park! I just wish there was more signage, especially for trailhead markers! The map didnt give any better help, especially for popular hikes

Rick Nobers

Tend to see this as the step child of the national parks in Utah. Shouldn't be but it seems ovelooked by the others. Less crowded. Beautiful.

Gloria Mayfield

Really beautiful national park with fruit orchards for picking of in season fruit and lots of hiking trails for exploring beyond the roadways.

Gabe Castellanos

Only drive through so didn’t have the time to hike or go off-roading. Visitor center was nice.

monica caraciolo

Beautiful place. Unfortunately not much time to explore. Nice combination of geology and history here!

Michael Briggs

This is an often overlooked park. Great views and hikes. We highly recommend it.

Michelle

Another stunning national park in Utah! Make sure you try the pies from the Gifford house. I am not typically a pie person but it seemed like the thing to do while visiting. Absolutely amazing crust. (And usually I try to pick around the crust instead of eating it. :) )

Doug Glaze

Beautiful park. Well worth the drive out of our way.

Wendy Flanagan

A delight around every turn. Beautiful!

Carolyn Dearden

Capitol Reef is a really pretty park. It's not nearly as crowded as Arches or Zions. There after a lot of shorter hikes, so it's really good for kids. We especially like the Cohab canyon hike. There are fruit orchards which are really pretty in the spring when the trees are blossoming. There is no fee to get in. If you want to stay at the campground make sure to make reservations long beforehand. We tried making reservations about a month before and it was already full. The campground seems nice from what we saw though. It is a dessert and gets hot in the summer, hopefully that's obvious though.

Karen Johnson

After seeing Bryce Canyon, this park just didnt have as much to see and do. Still beautiful!

Dale Eagar

I love road trips in the West. There are so many beautiful places to visit. Mother nature was busy here carving beautiful valleys and canyons. Check out Capital Reef yourself! Get out of your car and hike a trail of you are able. You will not be disappointed.

Chris Guichet

Stunning, a must see! The colors and diversity of this park is worth a week of days! Just incredible and close to Torrey for some great cabins and burgers!

don ventura

Our national park are incredible & this was no exception! And they have fresh pies!!

Nabil Sebbouba

Make sure to stop at least one night at Capitol Reef, this parc is amazing, there’s a scenic drive with a few off road paths and many points of interest and trails to discover! Do not miss Hickman Bridge

Charles bum

Great history and tons to see! Plan an entire day If you can

jodie strohmeyer

Wonderful Sandstone formations with numerous hiking trails. Go early in the morning as the park gets very warm in the afternoon.

Lorenda Hicks

Beautiful, unexpected and unique. Great hiking opportunities. Really peaceful place.

Anne Selbyg

This Park is probably awesome if you're really into geology. If not, unfortunately it pales in comparison to the other national parks like Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Jonathan Wrigley

Great hikes all over. Bring water or a lifestraw to stay hydrated. Loved hidden hike! Started right behind the visitor center on the river and you just follow it up. I thought it was better to hike up steam rather than down stream. Ends at chimney Rock.

Hugo Sykes

The drive North-East from the park is even better

John Sands

The rock formations were amazing, beautiful, colorful. A must see

David Stillman

This park is eye candy for the soul. I find the colors the rock formations the river all fascinating. The individuals working at the ranger station are top-notch. Providing plenty of answers and show True interest We the People that approach them with questions. Is a pleasure going to this park

Ron Rosen

great national park. drive the gorge and stop for pie. the pie is a must have.

Amanda Hunt

Capitol Reef is one of the lesser known national parks in Utah, so this makes it less travelled and not overly crowded. The park is well kept and there are so many hidden gems through out.

Amir Ehsaei

A lesser known national park, with beautiful hikes

J Johnson

Wow. A bit if a drive but very beautiful. What s view. We hiked to the rims edge. 1 mile in and one mile back but great views. Follow the stacked rock markers. Going out after 6pm you'll be in the dark coming back. Not a good idea. Great photo spots along the way.

Blake Hawks

The stars were absolutely amazing!

Bill S

I recommend that you drive slowly through this National Park and stop frequently at the pull offs. The views are spectacular! Multiple trips are needed in both directions to observe the changing landscape, morning, noon and later in the day or night. The natural lighting is slowly changing as the earth rotates.

Jennifer Anderson

Summertime busyness with travelers to be expected. Last time I was there in March and it was not crowded at all. Still a great NP that many don't go to. My favorite is the cherry pie at Gifford House.

Lois Terral

The beauty of the the park. That just says it all, are.

Marie Turner

Beautiful red rock. Great place to hike. Fun for families!

Jennifer Bluemel

So beautiful, full of history, a journey through time, beauty, and picking fruit to take home as added bonus!

Andrew Verdon

One of my favorite places to visit

Ahava Goldwater

There is so much to see in this park, but most of it is not easily accessible. We also had fun harvesting our own apricots.
