We offer you the reviews of real people who know the products and services of Canyonlands National Park (Tourist Attraction) in the area close to Utah.
Currently the business gets a rating of 4.8 out of 5 and the rating has been based on 4643 reviews.
As you can see its rating is almost the best one, and it is founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the valuation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to give scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Tourist Attraction is classified in the category of National park.
Mind blowing views. You don’t hear much about this park so it was defining a surprise. Even the entrance is incredible.
Amazing sights. Possibly better than Grand Canyon. Overlooking the Colorado River, this park takes you through the history of the area, focusing on the Colorado River and it's developing days.
A short drive from Moab and Arches National Park. Impressive views and less populated than Arches. I highly reccomend scrambling up Whale Rock!
This place is simply spectacular with its vistas and hiking trails. It is kind of remote with limited facilities though, so make sure you bring enough food and water with you if doing any outdoor activities. Also the different "districts" in the park are not connected by paved roads, so it's best to take your time visiting the park. Island of the sky is the busiest one with good vistas, but for a more backcountry experience visit the needles which is around a fifty minute drive from Moab.
Nice to visit not as much to see as the canyon land south. Amazing site's never the less
Beautiful park with expansive canyons, iconic arches, and excellent trails. We were surprised to find that we enjoyed it even more than Arches National Park.
Wow! Great views from every view point. Great elevation views.
Canyonlands is a vast geological marvel. The park offers miles and miles of trails up and down the canyon cliffs, and through the Colorado river basin. We drove a good portion of white rim trail, and even thought there were some narrow trails and steep inclines, our family loved the ride, including our toddlers (they slept for some of it but when awake they enjoyed the bouncy ride).
Was hot but had a great time looking at all the different landscape. Well worth the time. Nice hikes.
Across from Arches NP. Great place to visit without all the traffic.
This place is one of the best reasons to own an off-road vehicle.
This was beautiful and remote. Hardly any other cars, great views, and a pesky raven. I really enjoyed this one. I came back a year later to drive the White Rim Road (Trail). What a wild experience. Highly recommend for those that enjoy going offroading.
Canoeing down the green river is great
Love the views, its such a great experience. I think everyone should take the time to go out there, even if its just to clear your head. There is nothing better then being one with nature.
Huge National Park... great hiking, plenty to see with quick walks from car as well as hiking
It's huge and well I guess its more about what you can see than what you can touch but getting a picture at the Mesa arch is totally worth the entrance fee. I am disappointed I saw no rattlesnakes.
The vistas in this park are amazing. You will never see such incredible sights anywhere else. Make sure you hit them all and do one if the short hikes. Get there before 8am to avoid the crowds.
Amazing trails on foot and off-road 4x4. Take water, maps, and lots of photos!
Breathtaking. This park covers a large area. It can not be seen in one day. Made up of 3 sections and filled with hiking and biking trails, it has to be experienced to get even a small idea of its grandeur.
This is the most underrated national park in the area and gives the grand canyon a run for its money. The 2 mile round trip rim trail off of the grand view point/overlook is easy and well worth it
Awesome park! The views are incredible. Very well maintained too.
Not great for a quick visit. Beautiful scenery but you need more time to appreciate.
Beautiful place , arches national park. We did the mesa arch. 2.7 round trip hike was beautiful, worth it.!!!!!
Amazing landscape. Not as busy as some of the other parks.
Amazing staff and really good hikes! Lanthrop is way underrated!
All is beautiful but a long ride to Needles.
Amazing views and Rick formations. Easy hikes to sites right near the road...
Very interesting place. Didn't stay long but will in the future.
Amazing park with great views. A lot of the points are very easily accessible with a short walk or even by car, however to truly take it in, be prepared to trek a bit. This bit of the park can easily take you a day but if you visit only the main spots half a day should be fine. Be prepared for Mars like views!
Canyonlands national park was amazing. This was an opportunity to see into the canyon for more of an aerial type view. You can really see the different textures in the layers of rock. It was beautiful and breathtaking.
By far my favorite park in Utah. So many great places to hike and the views are unbelievable. Second to Glacier NP, Canyonlands can make you feel like you're the last person on Earth. Take in the amazing views and understand the reason why we are responsible for protecting places like this.
It's a great national park with a lot of different areas to explore. Even when the park is busy and the most popular areas are crowded you can find areas away from other visitors. :)
Wonderful place to hike and enjoy stunning views.
Things to see in Utah far exceeded my expectations. On a cross country trip, I decided to take the advice of the many travelers I came across and the state and national parks are absolutely amazing. Breathtaking views from every angle. Some places were busier than others, but I was always able to find a spot for my camper van with the most incredible views. You can beat the southwestern part of the country!
This place was amazing in it's scale and grandeur. The park was wonderfully maintained and rangers were extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
Such diverse terrain and lots of good hiking
Absolutely beautiful! Wish we had time for the white rim trail. We will definitely make time when we visit again!
Beautiful canyons, arches, and cliffs.
Really amazing. Several great hikes, scenery is out of this world! We rented a Jeep to do the Shafer Trail/Potash Rd. It was great.
Absolutely stunning place to visit. Everything around you looks like a painting, or the backdrop of a high budget western. Will be back for sure!
Need to get in the back country to enjoy this park. Sommer nice overlooks though
Can see most of it the big attractions just driving through, which we did. Took 2-3 hours, then we were on our way to Arches, which was much cooler.
First time visiting. I wish I had 4x4 to explore remote areas of the park, though.
Just beautiful I recommend the Grandview hike. Relatively easy hike, beautiful views, gorgeous sunset location.
Great views, hikes, and other activities. Facilities really need an upgrade, but I can't knock off a star from this amazing park.
Mind-boggling amazing natural beauty! Definitely want to go back and camp and do some of the hikes, but very car friendly, too. Thanks, millions of years of erosion! You made our day!
This place is absolutely incredible and amazing. Words nor pictures can accurately describe the beauty of this park. As my husband said, you get views as if you were in the Land Before time movies. And it's true, so so so gorgeous. If you have to choose between Arches and Canyonlands, choose Canyonlands (although I hope you can go to both). I overheard one person say this place was more beautiful than the Grand Canyon. It's definitely as beautiful, that's for sure. It's a large park so I only got to visit the Island in the Sky district. Orange Cliffs Overlook was a great place to watch the sunset (but check it out regardless of time of day). Mesa Arch was a quick but lovely hike. And Upheaval Dome was really cool. I would suggest stopping at every possible overlook and view you can, they're all breathtaking and they vary too. Excited to go back one day to see the other districts.
Canyonlands is INCREDIBLE. It is a magnificent drive. This may sound exaggerated, but we thought it was even better than the Grand Canyon!
I loved staying here, it was amazing! Especially the Grand View Point overlook and Dead Horse Point we're fascinating. But Green River overlook took my breath. It's just so surreal to stand there and see this canyon formation below. Absolutely worth the drive!
We hiked 3 of the 4 districts! Would recommend the needles and island in the sky. Amazing views and interesting rock formations in each of the districts! We will come back!
Great place to at least spend the day driving around and checking out all of the overlooks if you're in the Moab area . Even better to stay a few nights in the Campground .
Absolutely beautiful at every turn. The wife and i had so much fun
It's a gorgeous national park with a lot of different areas to explore. Even when the park is busy and the most popular sections are crowded you can find quiet areas away from other visitors. The road signs and trail guides were also very informative
Unbelievable views of the canyons. Much less crowded than arches national Park. Scenic drive and multiple hikes in the area.
Camped over night and did an 18 mile day hike the next day. Beautiful views! Loved the slot canyons. Make sure to bring lots of water and pinpoint your campsite on a map beforehand.
Another great National Park and if you have never visited this one, put it on the bucket list.
We did the alcove 11 mile hike and it was awesome. By the time we got to the end a storm rolled up and we had to turn around. But the hike good and the first and last mile were really the hard parts of the out and back. Everything else from there was super easy
Definitely worth visiting. Such a great nature and awesome places to do photography.
Love this place, an annual getaway. So much to explore and do. Be prepared with lots of water respect the delicate ecosystem.
Excellent scenery... Breathtaking views .... 10/10
Absolutely breath taking. One of the more underrated national parks. You will definitely not be disappointed.
Beautiful park. Not overly crowded. The rangers we're wonderful.
Really good place if like to hike
Had some very cool sight seeing options but it was also busier than I would like since it's so popular to stop and see.
Great views and plenty of things to see.
Needles District: there are several easy/moderate trails in this rugged wilderness with exotic formations - Cave Spring, trails around the campground, and the first leg (1.2 mi out) from the Elephant Hill trailhead.
Definitely a must see. Not many services in the park, so make sure to fill your water jugs and use the restroom as soon as you enter near the visitor's center.
Great place for family adventures and trips. Excellent place for and exploring the local sites!
An absolutely spectacular national park!!!
Incredible park, was able to snag a campsite at the Willow flat/ green river overlook site and it was really nice.
One of my favorite national parks. This park is quiet and not filled with the tourists like arches. The scenery is beautiful. Similar to the grand canyon.
The incredible Mesa Arch at Canyonlands National Park is simply breathtaking! It’s a must-see arch on your next visit to Canyonlands. The majestic overlooks include Island in the Sky, Grandview Point, Shafer Trail and many more. A 4x4 drive or bike to the Green River and the White Rim Trail completes the adventure at this awe-inspiring national park in Utah.
Unbelievable scenery. Great views. A must visit.
Definitely worth the trip. Incredible views and formations!
Canyonlands was the best. We stopped by the visitor center to get started. The kids got an activity book to complete to get their Jr. Activity badge. We visited Mesa Arch and Elephant Rock. However the Grand View Point hike was the most scenic and exciting hike at the park by far.
I loved this slow down take time to take in the sites. Everybody is to busy it's beautiful enjoy it. God's handy work mind blowing!!
A lot to see in this park. Jeep trail for the experienced driver and not for the faint of heart. Tricky areas for driving/passing. Only 1 vehicle at a time can pass. Alot of switchbacks going up the canyon. Most pics can only be taken from car, but the views are spectacular. Rock formations are alot of fun. Look for the 3 Kings, elephant, clam, happy face, nd Easter Island head. There are a few flat areas for parking and scenic shots before starting up the canyon. Enjoy!
Awesome, don't just drive through. Rent an off road vehicle, ride a mountain bike, hike and/or take a boat tour. These will immerse you into the true beauty that is Canyonlands NP. Get out there!
I actually liked this place better then Arches and the Grand Canyon. We only visited islands in the sky, and it really feels like you are standing on an island in the sky.
An outstanding park! The views were amazing and Moab is a cool town down the street.
One of the best national parks in the west! Outstanding views and crazy trails. Well worth a visit in any lifetime!
Amazing park to view the wonders of nature. Does get crowded on holidays in the late spring or early summer. Rangers were very helpful!
Canyonlands is huge- there are 2 entrances and you should check both sides out. There is camping at both, even rvs. Great hiking trails, or you can just drive to overlooks and take pictures. Enjoy!
Amazing place plan on spending some time in back country
Beutiful!! I dont know why this park isn't more popular.. maybe because it takes a short hike to see most of the awesome things to view.. but it is absolutely worth it!!
Beautiful. I only gave it 4 because no benches and shade near lookouts
Must see and do if you love to adventure!
Of the big four Zion,Brice,Arches and Canyon Lands it's the least spectacular but offers a great opportunity to go on trails with a street legal 4 wheeler. Check it out. Have Fun
The park is not so well known as others. I do however recommend it highly over arches. Beautiful views and with a 4x4 you can even go in the canyon which we unfortunately were not able to. We went later on the day and therefore did not have much other tourists.
Very cool place! The mesa arch is a must do!!
Big park. Must hike to see it all
Very fun to drive into the Canyonlands with a 4 by 4. Reservation needed!
I think Canyonlands National Park was better than Grand Canyon National Park. Many people don't visit here because of the distance from the big city(My opinion..). If you come here, you can visit the Arches National Park or Dead Horse Point as well. Anyway, I love this place.
This Park is superb. You have to do some miles from the Interstate on, but it is well worth. The Park is great for Hiking and Offroad driving. You need some permits but they are worth it. We had alot of fun in this Park. It wasn't too crowded either, loved it! We stopped on our Roadtrip from Boston to Los Angeles. Greets from Switzerland
Nice park great views everywhere. Great hike into the creator. Doesn't take long to do. Although you could make it a full day if you wanted. We were pressed for time a little.
Absolutely breathtaking views! We went in March and it was not too hot, comfortably warm, and we spent about 3 hours just in the Islands in the Sky district. Hiking was easy, trails were short and not too crowded, and took some amazing photos and made amazing memories. If you love the outdoors this is just something you have to do.
Breathtaking views and some real lovely natural wonders await.
Be ready to hike and see great sights
It was ok because I visited the Arches park first and was amazed. After visiting another park with more interesting canyons and Rock formations kinda burned me out. If you decide to go here first, you might feel differently. Maybe a 4x4 your would have been nice.
I have spent the last week visiting National parks in Utah and surrounding states. Canyonlands is the most breathtaking! Be warned...July and August are very hot.
My wife and I were expecting to go on some pretty stellar hikes but it turns out Canyonlands is just a collection of outstanding overlooks and viewpoints. We went on a small hike at Grand View, but that was it. I'm sure Mountain Biking or Off-roading would be fun. The views were spectacular though. But heads up, there is absolutely NO shade. None. At all. Anywhere. You're literally on top of a canyon.
This was such a beautiful drive! Highly recommend if you have the extra time in your itinerary!
Fun place to explore. We went to the Needles area on the eastern side of the park. The park is very remote. Long drive to get there. Had fun walking on the potholes hike. Beautiful scenery.
You need to plan to spend a lot of time here. This place will blow your mind. The canyons are so impressive!
Beautiful desert national park. We underestimated the size, as this park actually has three separate areas. I recommend having at least two full days to explore.
Wow, amazing. Must see and completely different from Arches, which is very close.
Incredible views, stop here if you're going to be in the Arches /Moab area! I highly recommend getting an annual park pass, makes it very easy to visit all the National Parks in Utah!
Stunningly beautiful, bring LOTS of water and food. None at the park!
The most striking rock formations I saw on a cross country tour of America and many of its national parks was at the Needles section of Canyonlands National Park. Mind blowing.
One of the most beautiful places I ever got to see. I spent one day in the Needles area, which is wonderful! You have hikes for everyone, from a few minutes to several days. Lots of things to see! The island in the sky area is just as beautiful, even if it's very different. The views are breathtaking, it's amazing how they are all different!
Better than the Grand Canyon, however, the Grand Canyon is worth going too. This place is , WOW! Don't wait, go now, this is amazingly spectacular! Stay away from the edges, its deep, stop at the side roads, take a few days to visit. We should have visited sooner, so we could visit again and again.
Great place and worth the visit. Do the white rim trail if you can, booking it advance during the non flooded season takes months in advance
Beautiful. Would definitely recommend visiting if u r near the area. We viewed several scenic points. Easy to get to.
Beautiful place. Tons of hiking to do. Great views even if you don't want to hike much. A lot of cool 4x4 trails that I will have to return to do someday! Loved both the Island in the Sky and Needles districts of Canyonlands.
I just came from Arches and I really enjoyed that this park was less crowded and had even bigger, open country scenery. Pull offs were great for viewing the landscape. Visitors center for island in the sky was great and informative. I will hopefully come back in the future.
I cannot say enough about how beautiful Canyonlands is. Highly recommend Murphy's Point. It'sa relatively easy hike with spectacular views. My only regret is not staying longer.
Google creates more interesting to travel. If you feel bore let's move somewhere, enjoy the life.
Fabulous scenery, fascinating geology. Wide open spaces. You can tour it by car and-or you can do a number of short or long hikes. You can also do a 100 mile off- road trail which takes 2 days. Not as crowded as its neighbor Arches, but just as impressive in a different way.
Not sure why this place doesn't have the title "Grand Canyon". Plan to spend a whole day if you like to stop and see all the overlooks. The rim hike is not very difficult and offers spectacular views at a relaxed pace.
Beautiful place. Lots of driving though to access all sorts of hikes. Too bad each part of canyonlands isn't connected. Still worth it. My kids ages 7 and 10 enjoyed Arches a little more.
Beautiful park! Visited both sides, and I have to say I loved the Needles. The hikes there were quite interesting and fun, and the rock formations were incredible! Of course, both side of the park have amazing views. I'd recommend visiting and giving yourself at least a full day.
Spectacular vistas all through the park. Could use a few more picnic tables with pavilions.
This is one of southern Utah's beautiful popular National Parks. It is very old in geologic time. It has 3 major areas: Island in the Sky (Mesa formations), the Needles (pointed Hoodoos) and the Maze (the most remote of all the park regions, it is a long winding area bordered by rock walls on both sides.
We only spent one day in the park, but with the help of the guide CD we picked up from the gift shop we were able to learn a bit about the area, and which hikes would fit best with our schedule. I hope to get back when the weather is a bit cooler and spend some more time exploring. Admission to the park is good for 7 days, so it nice to be able to break up the time in the park over a week long stay.
In my top 5 of national parks. Underrated. Rock formations are cool.
This park is full of amazing natural beauty. Rock might sound boring but it is breathtaking in it's unique landscapes. I'd love to go back.
Not worth the $30 to get in. It is pretty, but I wouldn't pay that much to go again.
Canyonlands National Park was--is--one of the more magical and mystical, awe-inspiring places that I've been blessed to have visited here on God's Green earth! It was winter and we were a bunch of dudes cavotinin' (in the words of Frank Kappa [Thing-Fish]) across the desert. There were times--several of them, truth be told--that we weren't sure we were going to survive...the desert, each other! We did...We loved it!!!
My new favorite park by far .... no comparison! Best views and not nearly the crowds of Zion or Grand Canyon
The most impressively epic views!! Canyons, mesas, buttes, and mountains as far as the eye can see. Best place I've ever been! Better than Grand Canyon by far.
Vast and beautiful! Great adventure driving down into the canyon then out along the river back to Moab, Utah
Beautiful landscapes and remarkable canyons seen along the drive through the valley. Remarkable. Words just don't do the area justice.
Gorgeous views in every direction!
Beautiful driving trails and many stops to get out and hike.
Incredible place. This is a must see. Not necessarily for the faint of heart tho.
Consistently beautiful, stunning scenery... very friendly and helpful park rangers. Endless possibilities for walking and hiking trails.
Phenomenal views and great park
Amazing sights both on the road and on the trails. Less crowded than nearby Arches National Park.
Incredible! Rangers are great, very helpful and the views are amazing. The park is huge. So many great hiking trails.
We hiked the Grand View. It was well marked. We hiked with 4 kids ranging from 5-12. Take water
One of my two daughters,Debbie, and our only son Bobby, and I went on a family trip in 1974, to Fun Valley, CO. My husband and our middle daughter Cindy stayed there and we wanted to go exploring that day. We went too far and ended up in Canyonlands. It was closed right before we got to the entrance but we could go in. We had the most wonderful and exciting time exploring the arches and canyons! Our son was in a fatal accident in September of ‘76 so it was an especially poignant place for us. We have been there many times and love it! PLEASE keep our NP’s free of litter, graffiti and oil well drilling.
Breathtaking. Amazing. Stunning. Just absolutely beautiful what nature has in her yard.
Beautiful views and it was not crowded when we were there. Pictures do not do it justice, but here you go!
Very helpful park staff. Stunning geography on splendidly maintained trails.
Canyonlands National Park is a beautiful place to enjoy nature at it's best. Canyons formed by rushing water from the Colorado River. You can hike the many trails, learn interesting facts at the ranger talks, go river rafting, and so much more.
Beautiful scenes! If you're up for some off roading, take the Colorado River Overlook road by the visitors center but for the love of God, make sure you have 4 wheel drive! It took us probably an hour to get back there and the road is ROUGH but worth it.
Super.....just incredible. If you hike out to the point. And you go after 6pm. You'll be at risk of a safe return. Great photo spots along the way....
Wow, what a park! When you go to the visitor center, you are up on top. The views are very nice of the canyons below. I found a good spot for watching the sunset. In mid-sept, it was not crowded. It would be great if you could go down into the canyon to get a complete experience when you visit.
This place is one of the best kept secrets of all the parks. There’s barely anyone there year-round and yet it’s one of the largest and most extensive parks with many many miles of trail and lots of campsites available. I spent four days here and compared to all the other national parks I’ve been to, this one is my favourite. The terrain is so varied and the scenery changes with every ridge and valley. I have nothing bad to say about Canyonlands.
We stayed in the needles campground. It is beautiful but it was in July and 101 when we were there. The bugs were biting, we have also gone in the fall when it was cooler. Well worth the trip out there. Amazing rock formations and not many tourists. Some of the clearest night skies in the world. It was a full moon so didn't get to see the milky way but I have never seen such a beautiful moon! Next time we go when it's not so hot and a dark sky! Plan well.
Gorgeous views. Come prepared with water and a full tank of gas. Lots of driving from viewpoint to viewpoint. A little hiking at some stops. All is totally worth it. If the weather is nice, pack a picnic lunch and take advantage of the views and beautiful day.
Gorgeous views, amazing landscape. Avoid crowds and go early. 11am 80 degrees in June. Wear good solid shoes, bring lots of water.
We went to Canyonlands for vacation and it was the most amazing experience. What a lovely view this National Park has.
Stunning ... get there early / spend the whole day there so you can enjoy the full beauty of Canyonlands National Park
This canyon have everything.....great views and some more. News paper rock is amazing!!! And keep going, because it's is beautiful!!!
Amazing in the spring time. All the dessert flowers were blooming and it was gorgeous. The doll house was hard to get to but nothing a novice off roader can't handle.
Breathtaking desolation, one of the most rugged of the National Parks. Take care to not step or drive on the delicate desert soil crusts when you visit--one shoeprint can erase decades of life!
Amazing views and hiking. I would recommend the needles district. It is like nothing else you have seen before and has amazing hikes!
