REVIEWS OF John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza IN Texas

I've visited this memorial a few times and it's always been nice. (I'd suggest visiting at night, it looks much better with lighting.) I wouldn't quite call this a must see or even a tourist attraction. If you find yourself in the area or are a die-hard history fan than it surely would be worth stopping by.

Catherine Alvey

If you are here, you need to stop and see how the city disappears when you step inside.

Roni Anderson

This is an odd tourist attraction since you are going there to see where someone was shot. (I know. It's history.) We had a nice older man spend about 15 minutes with us telling us about the area and his "theories" of what happened that day. Unfortunately, once he was done, we learned his knowledge came at the price of $10. We did learn things and it was interesting seeing it in person but it isn't something I'd want to go back to.

Margarita Valenzuela

Very educational for both me and my family. Staff was super helpful and museum was well worth every cent

Joshua Selph

A must see historical site in Down town Dallas. Amazing history beautiful art work and amazing sites to see!

Edwin Campbell

Great place for quiet reflection in the middle of the bustling city. This is not interactive other than the ability to step in to a place where the atmosphere changes to a noise-free area where you are surrounded by high walls and a memorial to JFK. You can feel the difference, but you have to take a minute and realize how the atmosphere changes from a few steps outside the memorial to a few steps inside.

Jim Schultz

It was interesting to see where Kennedy was shot. It's one thing to watch on t.v.,but much better to see in person.

Eric O'Dell

Visiting the JFK Memorial is a perfect follow up to your visit to the Sixth Floor Museum. You can have a chance to have a moment of solitude in an otherwise very urban environment. Worth checking out.

ANUP DASH

Its an excellent museum with extensive coverage on JFK. You should have adequate time to explore fully.

Doris Walker

A PLACE IN MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF PRESIDENT J.F. KENNEDY..I WS THERE

Will Chan

Feel like they need a better memorial, a lot of people just walk straight past it or only know of the book repository

Alejandra Arroyo

It was a good tribute, took the kids they didnt really care for it but good history piece

Robert Trent

Beautiful and amazing to see. If you go to the museum, buy tickets online. They do same day same hour tickets. Otherwise you'll be left standing in line while people cut the line online. This is the reason for four stars.

Marc Armstead

It's a must stop for American history buffs or just the curious. You can spend as much time as you want drilling down into one of America's darkest days. The buildings, structures, and museums surrounding the entire area are all first class. I do wish the memorial could have been made out of the intended material though.

Phil Goodman

The JFK Memorial Plaza has a very simple design but the message it sends is strong, memory of one of the United States best Presidents. I have visited this place every time, I have been to Dallas. Any who visit Dallas, I recommend you stop by and read a little about it.

Ahmid Tanray

This was unexpected but welcomed stopped.

Kim Jones

A place to visit for a purpose of history. Saddened by the death of a President though. Such a beautiful Grassy Knoll area with terrible and haunting memories.

Matthew Halpern

Quite underwhelming. Would expect something nicer for an American Icon.

Christopher Evenson

Did not dislike, thought would be more...

Rudolf Tamas

I was passing by and had a couple of minutes to walk around. There’s parking on site which is convenient. Sometimes that could be a challenge in Dallas. Interesting monument, I’m glad that I had the opportunity to stop by and check it out.

Nate Church

The actual memorial is a little different than expected, a very unique structure that was built in honor of the President. The place is definitely a must see know if you are in downtown Dallas!

Aron Baez

Cool place . There should be an x where the shot was fired

Rene Alba

Very sad part of history. You can actually picture it clearly as not much has changed. Street is marked with X at each spot JFK was shot. Must visit if in Dallas

Cait Caitlin

Probably one of the saddest experiences of my life, especially given the state of our country today, but something that has to be seen nonetheless. Really moving. Kept clean and everything is very respectful of the man's life which was taken far, far too soon.

Definatly an amazing part of history that everyone should have the experiance of viewing for there self. I truley miss Dallas Texas and am considering moving back after realizing how much more family oriented events they had to offer. Absolutely amazing!

Chris Nuhn

Busy area, lots of traffic but the walk signals change often so you are not waiting for long, enjoyed all sites and the scenery! Plenty of food options around! Definitely visit the museum! All staff are friendly and polite. Great experience

Toni Tzvetanova

The actual monument is very unusual. I didn't think of it that much. Just 4 concrete walls with a black marble stone in the middle of the walls carrying JFK's name on its sides. What I liked more was the street and the building where the shots were fired from. The street is marked with Xs in both places where the shots hit the President. The street is Elm street further down to the left of the monument.

Esteban Maraboli

Very good historical place. Lot of tourists

Randy Fuller

Amazing to see the spot that you have seen so many times on TV.

inda shade

It's not bad but basically hard to get to without a walk planned to it.

adam Ganser

It's a nice little spot to go visit. Don't recommend going at night as the area gets a sketchy at that point in time.

Chuck Hammond

Was a great place to see why the CIA shot JFK

Richard Hassell

Never thought I would see this exhibit he was assassinated a couple of months after I was born I'm fortunate I'm glad I got to see this

Michael Tuffelmire

Very moving piece of art dedicated to a great President. The artist focused on creating a quiet sanctuary in the middle of the hustle and bustle. This way one can reflect on the magnitude of the historic happenings of Dallas.

Shane Prukop

Just imagine the history, and standing at the exact location. Its a experience I'll never forget.

Don Rubottom

Sad history....a must for young people to see/learn.

Scot Murberger

Amazing place. Solemn. Parking can be a challenge, but all worth it. It's amazing to stand in a place with so much history and so entwined in our hearts.

Cyrus Baty

A truly humbling and somber experience... If you find yourself in the heart of Texas, make sure you take a tour of the JFK Memorial and pay your respects to one of our nations most celebrated presidents and one of the most tragic heartbreaking disasters of our time.Retrace the path of his motorcade as it took its final turn down elm Street in those final moments that have been engrained in our memories since November 22, 1963. Walk the streets and reconstruct the scene of the crime in your own mind as you listen to the stories retold by street venders and historical markings at the grassy knoll. A tragedy still marred by conspiracies, you will leave this memorial with more questions and a stronger desire to uncover the truth about what happened at Houston and Elm...

Kristopher Schlueter

Worth visiting and going "inside". Definitely different as far as memorials go

Andrew Pruett

Strange spot...not knowing what to expect for a JFK memorial, I was rather underwhelmed and dont really understand the meaning of the design. Some additional context or explanation might help make sense of this memorial..but otherwise. It's there for you to see..just sad the true memorial in Dallas is the spot of his murder.

Marlon Alexis Saravia

Great piece of history, a must see. An X marks the spot

Monisha Maitra

Sad beauty but full of history. Must stand on the grassy knoll to fully experience what happened that fateful day in Nov 1963. Recommended for all ages

Jonas Stoddart

Great place for quiet reflection in the middle of the bustling city. This is not interactive other than the ability to step in to a place where the atmosphere changes to a noise-free area where you are surrounded by high walls and a memorial to JFK. You can feel the difference, but you have to take a minute and realize how the atmosphere changes from a few steps outside the memorial to a few steps inside.

Michael James

Very well presented and a step back in history, it’s something special to be at the place where JFK was shot.

Aaron Baca

A cool little monument but nothing very exciting. Read the sign to understand it.

Rahul K

I've visited the memorial multiple times at multiple times of day. Sometimes it can be busy during after office hours. On weekends it is okay. I was there on new years for the countdown and fireworks. It was totally awesome. There is a lot of open space around to walk and explore. It's close to the downtown where you can walk too which is really nice. There is a museum just near or probably adjacent to the memorial which is worth visiting too. I would recommend people to visit the memorial.

Austin Graff

This memorial is near downtown Dallas and is honor of JFK, who was shot near the site of the memorial. It's an interesting memorial that's easy to overlook. If you go, read the plaques and go inside the center of the memorial.

Connie Anyoti

Nice place though not many people pay attention to it.

Rita Wilson

After checking out the memorial we had a good time riding around on the scooters downtown.

Doran Butler

Having seen this sight my whole life, it was a very emotional experience. Park at a meter for $1.50. Plenty of time. Even with the tour. Tours behind the bookstore depostitory.

Mister Grandpa's Bakery

A place that respectfully commemorates the murder of a truly great man. A place to remember!

Stephanie Taylor

Very cool monument. If you read the inscription you will have a true sense of why this was built the way it was.

jesper

Near the place where president John F. Kennedy was shot. The monument is impressive

Mike Berry

Nothing much to see at all... Probably the most boring memorial I've ever seen

Johnpaul Van

Always like to visit there, cus I have great respect for the Kennedy's family what they done for this country.

Tracy Flores

This huge memorial site was beautiful in meaning and stature. It was a somber feeling entering it and reflecting on his life.

Sherakee

Anything having to do with the man who's memory still brings pride, hope and tears to my eyes, is 5 star.

Todd Miller

Look I'm not saying the place was bad, it was just creepy. Idk about you but I could feel the evil and sadness at the site. I would never go back. It was interesting but I want no part of it.

Huma Khan

A quiet place to reflect inside the walls.

Jeremy Norvill

Very easy to get to right in downtown dallas. Took my gf and she had a.great.time.walking around as imtook pictures. Great place sad history.

Stan Adler

Beautiful city. Must go. Ora in the air that is indescribable.

james blount

If you're down with history and historic events definitely have to check this place out. Lots of information around for you to gather. Besides the homeless guy yelling at us from the grassy knoll it was a hell of a experience

jennifer martinez

Great place to walk around just to many pan handlers harrasing you to the point where you feel un easy !!

Bob Orta

This took me back to a day in me senior high Problems or Democracy class. There was an announcement over the OA that the president had been shot.

Matt Hucker

Great place to visit and learn the history behind JFK. My wife and i both throughly enjoyed the tour. The tour is all audio commentary which can be a little clunky at times but the info from the audio is great and the exhibits are worth it. Would recommend booking online in advance as the queue for tickets did get a bit long and you have to the queue for entry at your entry time.

Marilyn Ignacio

Historical event. America lost a highly respected man.

Dave Emery

Sad history and a great remembrance of a great man.

Junaid Channa

Occasion: went to check some local history and of course jfk memorial, etc Pros: Fantastic Clean Historical as hell. Very scenic Makes you think a lot about jfk Cons: Get there early as some parts of the museum etx finish by 4/5pm. You don’t want to hang around this area after sunset Bottom line: Had such a great time visiting the sites and hearing the stories. It’s like you are right there when it happened. Do watch the movie jfk before you go. And wow what a man he was.
