You know that we don't usually bother to put feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction corresponds to the category of Wax museum.
It is a great place for an older crowd. If you have young children they may not enjoy it. It was fun to hear the information about the presidents!
Fantastic, helpful, accommodating staff. Very informative yet concise historical information on the presidents. Self paced tour with each visitor given a wand which plays a recorded presentation for each president's tenure. Listen in any order, repeat if wanted.
While there are some pretty good sculptures, other sculptures look nothing like if not a frightening likeness of the president's. The information provided about certain president's seems very biased and the gift shop is full of mockery of our current president. Regardless of your views this place should be non-partisan and respectful to our country.
Very cool spot. It's a great attraction for adults and kids. We have three kiddos under 7 years and they did surprisingly well. The wax figures are very impressive and the walk through experience was smooth and fast. The gift shop had a lot of fun items and the tickets included free access to the put put golf course behind the building. Also, with our stay at the nearby KOA Campground, the entire thing was free. If you're staying at the KOA, just ask the receptionists there for more about it.
Pretty amazing seeing all the presidents I recommend this
GREATEST GIFT SHOP EVER. The museum is free if you're staying at a KOA and provide your receipt. Exibits are great and educational BUT, even if you don't go through, the gift shop is the best in town. Prices are great, selection is huge and t-shirt designs aren't cheesey, touristy kind. At $9 a shirt, we bought them ALL! We even stopped in later just to shop once we realized the prices were the best around.
I went with my 18 year old daughter. We both enjoyed it.
Probably would not have done this but we got a free pass with stay at KOA. Turned out to be really cool and I'm very glad we went!
Loved the stories but not all figures looked like the president.
The detail of the statues and displays are really nice, the audio narration was nice. The narrative devices were hard to hold for that long of a period, and they need more seating.
Pretty unbeatable for the price, and it was the only place in SD that I bought a souvenir. Info wands are provided and quite informative, albeit sounded like it was straight from a highschool textbook. Took about 2 hours. A must do if your trying to keep up a US history kinda mood while your in the Rushmore area!
I loved the museum. Great information on Presidents. It was at the gift shop that I gave only a one star. You displayed harsh things about our current President. Whether you like him or not , you showed so much disrespect for President Trump. My family and I refused to buy anything from your gift shop. We usually spend money when we do an activity when traveling. Shame on you for the disrespect. But museum was awesome
Really cool place to visit. A great opportunity to learn history!
Staff was friendly and helpful displays were well done and informative
This place was super cool. I'm glad we went. The only thing I would have liked to take selfies with the wax figures this isn't possible with the way the displays are set up. Not a big deal though.
Each President is represented in this museum. You're given a handheld device which allows you to choose which audio you want to listen to based on the display you're currently looking at. I actually listened to all the audio so I was in there a while. If all you do is look at the displays, youll be there a pretty short time. Most of the displays looked like the real deal, and the audio was very informative. There's a great gift shop with some funny gifts and the usual stuff. I accidentally left my purse there and didn't realize it until the next day (I had taken my wallet out to pay) and the manager sent it to my home. Cool museum run by GREAT people. Shoutouts to the Presidential Wax Museum!
Different but very informative! Learned alot and my husband who loves the presidents really enjoyed this museum.
Learn interesting things about all the presidents you've probably not heard before!
Great place to visit in south Dakota. The wax president's look great and fact and information about each one too.
Great very educational
Our daughter really wanted to do the tour and I was reluctant; however I am glad we did it. It was neat to see and both our kids (11&9) were engaged and enjoyed it! Nice gift shop also.
Is very interesting and the staff very nice
We stumbled on this by accident while camping outside of Keystone. For a history buff like myself it was an awesome experience. The closest you can get to meeting all of our presidents face to face! It is a self guided tour, so you can go through at your own pace. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable!
Cool to learn what goes into the making of a Wax head of the Presidents. Self guided so you take as long you to to see all that the Museum has to offer. Nice gift shop
We had a great time here. Taking pics with presidents was more fun than you'd imagine.
Beautiful replication of Presidents and known associates. Educational with recorded historical stories with each exhibit. Clean, well maintained ed facility. Employees were upbeat and made us feel welcome . Sincere thanks also given at payment as well as a parting greet while exiting Overall, so happy we visited and will tell family and friends to check out this site.
American history is very important, educate yourself and your children, make it fun by visiting things spot!
Great place to visit and see the great wax works so life like.
Very cool!! Family had a great time, informative audio tour as you go through, very lifelike!
Awesome place.
Ok nothing to great
Good audio, wax people&President figures realistically potrayed.
Delivers on its promise. Some figures are very well made and accurate. Some are hilariously off. Overall worth a stop.
Very good Life Details. Wonderful history of our Presidents. Make sure to plan plenty of time for the visit. Really love the true period Clothing.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and all the attention that went into the statues, the scenes in which the characters were displayed, and the amount of history I learned from the wand/number system. Why I'm giving this place 2 stars is because I thought I was coming to a place that would be impartial to the garbage that is happening in politics, but it's very clear the family who own this are Democrats. Their glowing story of Obama and the lying bologna on Trumps, saying he spent the majority of time in his early Presidential career focusing on his family's business, lies. Also they sold many anti-Trump toys and even a doll of Trump that would be used as a anti-stress tool by hitting it against something, a clock counting down Trumps last day in office and a Trump troll doll. They only sold Democrat pins and in no way sold anything mocking or making fun of any other president. Really disappointing.
Fun and informative visit!
If you're into this kind of thing, it's pretty cool. If not, it's just weird. Wax figures are fairly representative of the real people, but slightly creepy too.
Many of the figures looked almost nothing like the real thing: Obama, Carter, Bush senior, Reagan. Even trump didn't look as good up close as one would hope.
Awesome place. Really informative. There are other historical scenes as well! Including important figures. My favorite scene was the swearing in of LBJ. A great stop if you are heading up to Mount Rushmore!
Very interesting, but some of the waxed people did not resemble the person.
That's not even how Ronald Reagan looked or did his hair at all.
Not worth the money you pay in the entrance. Also, you cannot take pictures inside.
So realistic looking. Good learning experience for the kiddos and myself.
Very nice displays, cool info. We did the kids scavenger hunt and it was really engaging for us adults too
Very neat place with a lot of history. It is the official Presidential Wax Museum in the country.
This place was both creepy and cool. Some of the wax figures look real and we were waiting for them to blink or move haha. The lady working was awesome and had some fun stories for us after we went thru the museum. If you listen to every booth's story, you'll spend a long time here!
Lots of fun, and great historical tidbits along the way!
Fun and educational
Very interesting visit. We learned A LOT about our nation's presidents. Each audio clip that the wand had was very informative and included fun facts about each president. We spent about an hour and a half here, and we listened to probably 85% of the clips. Awesome museum! Only place with a wax figure of every president, and they look very life-like!
What a great place to visit! Very educational and moving.
Great place to visit. Awe inspiring displays. Very moving! Can't recommend enough!
Good learning experience for the kiddos! Although I head a preteen boy ask about what happened at 911 repeatedly and the dad just kept ignoring him.
Everything was so life like. Customer service was great. All in all a great experience!
Just Wax Museum of the presidents and the Constitution being signed and Alexander Graham Bell such an educational too late for the children to keep them excited about history they had a game where they would write down certain items and they get school at the end of it you seem to change a whole attitude about them Museum but you seem Keystone South Dakota I enjoyed it very much took lots of pictures and you must as well.
Good price. A lot of history. Nice staff. Souveniers decently priced.
Neat experience and informative
I would give this a one star, but they do have good information. Now let’s move on to the sculptures, for one, they ALL have the same hairstyle strayed back, when most of them don’t have them! It makes them look so odd. Now I know your like omg that’s just hair but the sculptures itself, most of them don’t even look like them. For Obama, he has almost white skin. And George Busch has just pale white skin, making him look almost disturbing. And Ronald, omg. It looks like it could be in a haunted house. If you’re coming here for info, sure, great place for info! But if you’re coming here for the sculptures, all you’re gonna do is complain. We should have listened to the reviews, but we didn’t. Not coming back.
Amazing detail!
Good gift shop but nothing interesting, unless you are enthusiastic about US presidents. Barack Obama’s face looked like caricature.
Very cool place!
Cool place with great displays and information
It'd be perfect if it opened not only in the summer
Cool tour! All the US Presidents featured here. Audio tour and self-paced.
This is a great place to visit.
I would have personally liked the presidents to be in order. Some were out of order but overall I enjoyed it.
we visited the museum yesterday. enjoyed it, but was a little disappointed that the president seems to be made fun of. You seemed to be very biased. he was very sloppily dressed. his shirt was not tucked and he was the ONLY president with his jacket unbuttoned. He is a very neatly dressed man, and one to be honored.
Awesome and amazing
This place is amazing.... better than I expected. Julie was very helpful and I enjoyed the tour and gift shop! Stop next door to the coffee shop Grapes and Grinds. Best freshly made frappe I have ever had!
Pros: 1. Nice staff 2. Clean location 3. Interesting and if you are into this stuff you should give it a try! The experience cool Cons: 1. Not a lot of parking 2. Building show area is small causing crowding - anxiety stricken and claustrophobic beware
Ehhh, the lady working there was nice enough, but all the president are where you can't take photos with them and several of them didn't look anything like the president they were portraying. Some looked just like who they were portraying, though.
Interesting how they tell how they make Wax figures
Short video explains the process of how the wax figures were made. Museum is interesting. The wax figures are well done. The audio tour is on ends with adjustable volume. Brief history of each president. .if you listen to every one, expect it to take several hours. But most people we saw selectively listed and we're finished in about 45-60 minutes. Well stocked and interesting gift shop. Parking is free and plentiful. Staff was very friendly. Clean restroom.
This was actually way cooler than I anticipated and souviner shop was 50% off
The National Presidential Wax Museum is pretty awesome! Most of the wax exhibits are shockingly realistic! Recommend anyone and everyone make a stop and check out the place!
Love looking at the presidential wax, they were nice to look at, very wonderful people there.
A lot of places to sit which was needed. We have a lot of past presidents. It was fun to give a presidential speech.
My 3 and 4 year old loved it! They're obsessed with their Presidents flashcards. Definitely recommend if you're into U.S history.
Lifelike figures and great learning experience. Friendly service also
Entry price was good. 2 dollars off for military and vets. Some of the wax figures were life like others so so. The only problem my group had was Jackie Kennedy looked liked a dude in drag.
Pretty cool place! Realistic life sized models of the presidents going in order though out history. Each of them is put in an iconic situation in their presidency and they give you a handset that tells you facts about each one. It's definitely worth going at least once.
Loved the self-guided tour!
It was very educational and fun when you donthe scavenger hunt
I couldn't get past the first presentation... Obama!
Very interesting time well spent. Price was good
Interesting museum! Some of the presidents are not very life like. We did learn a lot about them though.
Good experience! Lots of great information.
Wonderful museum with all presidents. Loved that they were presented in on of their remarkable/best/difficult situation. Highly recommended!
I believe it was $11 per person. Decided not to go, but they do have a gift shop with some really cool stuff.
You can tell that this was put together by people with a labor of Love. It's a self guided tour with audio 'wands' they give you.
My family and I stopped by the museum, after visiting Mt Rushmore. We thought it would be fun to learn more about each of the Presidents in America. There was a wax model for each President with an audio tour that told you about each one. It takes about two hours to go through the exhibit with audio, but it is definitely worth it! I would highly recommend this museum if you are in the area.
This place is bigger than it looks!! It's a self guided tour with handsets provided to give you information on each set up. It includes all of the presidents, even the current one. There are some important people in our country's history featured as well. The tour is full of interesting facts, so even if you are an American History buff, you'll have fun listening to the tour and viewing the displays. There are a many full size displays to look at, along with many pieces of Presidents from the shoulders up. Such a fun way to spend a few hours learning about our history!
great experience with the family
Not very well detailed, wax figures look nothing like the pictures provided. Only one cashier for a long line of people. Glad it was free.
Wonderful place
It was really good! I spent like 2.5 hrs but I listened to everything. It was super informational and if you like history is a must. The wax figures were mis some where excellent and some were just good. But in general it is worth going to! I super recommend it.
Interesting, not worth $11 for every 12+ aged person in our group. I would only go if you can get a discount or in for free (we stayed at Palmer Gulch KOA & showed our receipt to get in for free)
It was very interesting. Some of the people were really good. The wax of Ronald Reagan, Jackie Kennedy, and Jimmie Carter were very disappointing.
Enjoyec and free if stay at KOA.
We had an enjoyable experience here. Our group was ages 11, 41, 68 and 80. All were interested in presidential history beforehand. It is a self-guided audio tour that allows you to learn a few minutes of info about each president. Takes about 90 minutes if you listen to each presentation in full. Most of the figures were very realistic, with a few exceptions (Reagan, HW Bush, Obama, Clinton, Carter). Most scenes were unique (such as Truman and Eleanor R. Witnessing signing of UN charter) and included numerous people, instead of having all standing next to each other. The half of our family who was not interested played minigolf next door at same time. Gift shop had a nice selection and reasonable prices.
Had low expectations, but there was a president's wax museum in my neck of the woods and that place pales in comparison. There were so many historical figures, it was great.
They had trump done he looked good
Nice staff. Some neat knick knacks. To see wax exhibit you have to pay so I don't know how that is.
Very enjoyable and interesting. Learned quite a bit about each of the presidents. Lives up to the claim of having life-size wax figures of ALL of the presidents. Well worth the visit.
Great experience. A fun place and very informative.
A must see!!
This is a really fun museum! The wax figures look realistic and are cool to see. It is bigger then it looks.
Love the history
what more is there to say? Really really nice looking wax sculptures of presidents. [Except maybe Nixon, he looked freaky
This fits that deep yearning for a classic and mildly creepy stroll through presidents past and present. Honestly, this was one of the highlights of my trip. The figures are well made and some of them are almost terrifyingly life like (see Donald Trump). The scenes created are visually and historically interesting. Perfect for the history buff or casual tourist alike.
Several of the presidents were just off. Long hair or wrong comb job.
Nice place, very educational, go at your own pace and learn about all the Presidents of our fine United States a
Great place. Definitely worth a look.
It was a nice place to visit
Kind of boring in my opinion by the wife enjoyed it, they do have a wax replica of each president along with extra characters from history, the gift shop had a bunch of presidential themed stuff.
The wax statues were pretty high quality and the self guided audio tour was very informative.
This place was AMAZING! Everything was so REAL looking!!! Highly recommend!!!
Fun place to go. Very cool to learn interesting facts about our past presidents. The entrance is a little confusing, not sure where to pay and where to check out with merchandise.
Very informative! Not cheesy!
Very informative and fun.
Be prepared to stay a long time so come early Very informative especially for those who love history They also have a souvenir shop with very reasonable prices
Very cool displays, one of my best memories from a child in SD.
Very cool and life like! Noticed the exhibit where Johnson getting sworn in and Jackie still having blood stained clothes - found it cool because it was true to that moment whereas it could've been left out.
WOW, this is LIVING history and is privately funded! Not only is the history of America's leaders a reason to stop but the story behind the museum itself too! I can't put into words what I got out of my stop here today, a definite MUST for anyone visiting the Black Hills!
Wonderful place to learn so much information about our presidents. Unique information.
A little creepy, but interesting :)
Wonderful displays, itvwas rich in history and I walked out learning more depth related to each president than I was fully aware of.
Nice place full of presidential history, well worth the time and money
A must see. This was very educational and very well done.
Well done sculptures, audio guide welcome & super friendly staff
Very cool place to see wax figures of former Presidents of the United States. Came here with wife after seeing Mount Rushmore. Just a very fun expierence!!
Great attraction. Every US president in wax form, creepy and insightful, this is a great place to experience history and feel patriotic. There is a short self guided audio tour and each president is life size in a diarama depicting their life and pivotal moments.
This place is AWESOME!! So much fun for the young and old. You can go as fast or slow through the museum as it is self guided with audio wands that you hold up to your ear and listen to. The detail is amazing. Loved that President Trump was right when you start the museum. Lots of neat tidbits about Presidents that you don't necessarily learn in school. Will definitely come back.
This place is super cool and full of information. Plus they sell bobbleheads!
Awesome. Very educational. Love History
Super informative. It is set up very well. It has more than just presidents. The audio tour is very educational and gives you a lot of information. The gift shop is nice as well.
Thorough coverage of presidents and moments. Great staff and cool intro video about how it is all done.
Our family loved the museum. It was fun and very interesting. A great stop on our vacation.
Friendly staff and a very educational museum! The wax people were awesome and gift shop was affordable!
