DESCRIPTION

Here you will be able to see all the reviews of people who purchased the products of National Music Museum (Tourist Attraction) in the state of South Dakota.

Right now the business has a rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 and this rating is based on 111 reviews.

You may have noticed that the average of ratings is virtually the best one, and it is founded on a very large number of scores, so we can be pretty sure that the assessment is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to give their feddback when they are pleased with the service, it works.

You know that we don't usually stop to put feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

This Tourist Attraction is included in the category of Museum.

REVIEWS OF National Music Museum IN South Dakota

Faith Titus

I really enjoyed getting to visit this museum as I am a big music lover and am fascinated by the history of music and instruments. This museum even had a few instruments that I did recognize, which was fascinating to learn about for the first time. They have an awesome self-guided audio/video tour. They also have some famous artists instruments and movie props. I think this museum is a must see for anyone who likes music!

Vicky Lenz

Kyle Williams

Amazing and wide variety of instruments with plenty of information about every one of them.

Rich Simons

If this instrument collection were located in a major metropolitan area, the world would trumpet its significance. As it is, it's no less important - just a bit harder to find. For those who do make the effort to see it, there's no way to be disappointed. The collection is vast and inclusive, beyond anything that might be expected. Go see it!

This museum is on the campus of a university about 7 miles west of highway 29. It's worth a detour if you enjoy the history of musical instruments and are interested in how they are made. There are special exhibits of famous musicians' guitars (for example, Johnny Cash), a special exhibit on a violin-maker's shop, and an interesting exhibit about instruments used in the American Civil War. Show your AAA card for a $2 discount off the usual $10 admission fee. There is also an interesting gift shop.

Scott Ames

Awesome collection of musical instruments! The free audio tour was a really nice touch allowing you to get more information and hear some of the instruments. Note that they are only open until October 6, 2018 and then they will be closed for expansion. Check their website to be sure.

Awesome museum. Even my husband loved it

The museum is very well designed. The self guided tour included electronic devices that link to audio or visual files that explain the museum exhibits. They have an excellent collection of instruments. I took my 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter. They thought it was awesome and really enjoyed the experience. We were the only ones in the museum. I can imagine it would get quickly crowded if a large group came through as the exhibit rooms are quite small. If you are a fan of music or a musician, you would probably enjoy it quite a bit, as I did. Finally, the staff I interacted with were excellent.

They hand you a headset with earphones that are attached to a cell phone device to hear the instruments. The one they gave me took a long time to buffer. Very unusable. Its to bad they do not have the latest in technology like other museums.

It was a wonderful experience! We heard about the exciting plans to offer more experiential learning as the museum expands and evolves. It was good to see the cello that our grandfather made in 1934. Thanks to the museum for giving it a safe home!

The National Music Museum is a must visit location when touring Vermillion and the University of South Dakota! They have iPods that play the music from the instruments on display and it's truly a place that you can find yourself lost in for an hour or two as you appreciate both the sounds and beautiful instruments in their collection.

Ordinarily I would give this place a five-star it is a fantastic Museum but they still had themselves listed as open when they're actually closed for renovations until 2021 so if you read this review make sure you check and see when their actual grand opening is otherwise you'll waste your time and your gas

Jerry Nieland

Please check this place out. Their ingenious billboards convinced my wife and I to make an unscheduled stop on our road trip. Inside is an impressive collection of musical history. The audio tour provided an individualized experience and seeing the progression of instrumental history was fascinating. Give yourself enough time to really enjoy what's here, several hours ideally.

This place is a gem on-campus. After attending the University for 3 years, I finally made my way over to the National Music Museum. I am sad I didn't visit it earlier. The exhibits are put together beautifully with a self-guided audio tour. So many amazing instruments from around the world. This is a must see when in Vermillion.

Rare vintage instruments on display with audio history.

Great museum even if you are not very musical inclined. It was very interesting and informative. Make sure to ask for the iPod audio tour thing since it makes the experience so much better. It allows you to hear what some of the instruments sound like and see some of the instruments being played.
