(Translated by Google) Visit in 30 minutes of this old gold mine You put on a helmet and follow the guide for a pleasant discovery of the tools and stones of the place. Fun time: the guide turns off the lights so that you can see what happens to the miner who mistakenly set his candle ... Shivers guaranteed! For $ 8 more, you can use a Pan, to amuse you a small bag of stones in which was deposited some micro grains of gold. Logan Hansen

Excellent tour and very interesting mine to go through! Service was great, and panning for gold afterwards was a lot of fun. We were given bags and allowed to collect rocks going through the mine as well, which I didn't expect going in but was a fun bonus. Great place to visit!

Robert S

This is a nice cheap tour. The tour guide was knowledgeable and nice. The tour is kid friendly and you can take numerous pictures.

Lisa Forness

Great tour guide and really fascinating tour! Anyone who wants to complain about their "workplace environment" ought to see the conditions these gold miners had to work in, in the late 1800's. Tough!! I didn't think this tour was going to be much of anything, but I was very pleasantly surprised! Good for families!

Tim M

Fun little tour. Took about a half hour in the mine, which was great with a 4yo. We did the panning for gold after and found a handful of little flakes. Worth the price of admission.

Chad Melton

This was an awesome tour through an old gold mine. The tour was around 30 minutes and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and added some humor. Lots of neat things to look at on the inside such as different types of rocks, entrances, large rooms, etc. It was a very reasonable price and is great for kids. We also did the panning for gold and were instructed on the proper method of panning. Our whole family had a blast at the Broken Boot mine!

Chris Krampert

Our guide was great, very good humored considering we were the first early morning tour. His co-workers were quite late for work and left him to cover the booth and guide the tour by himself. He handled the situation like a rockstar and we left happy. 5 star for him specifically.

Kayla Nordgaard

Tour guide was smart and funny. Appreciation for the history with some laughs! Realistic panning experience, and the kids are thrilled with their gold. We love Jasmine!

Todd Kobus

What a pleasant and fun stop. Cheesy jokes from our guide combined with a well preserved mine made for a perfect one hour stop for our kids to get a feel for what it was like working in a mine.

Jack

Our tour guide was great. She made it fun. She took the time to talk to both ends of the large group we were in. The panning for gold was a little less than expected but for kids it was fun.

Chl

Tour guide was very young girl( Isabelle?) and she was very natural and well educated about the cave. Tour price was very cheap.

Dan Beitzel

We had a great experience here. There were quite a few people that were touring with us, which made it a bit cramped. But our tour guide made sure everyone got a good experience.

Troylin Frye

Fantastic place, our guide was the best....

Marlyne

This was a great experience, the tour guide was informative. The most interesting part of the tour was the example of how the miners worked by candle light and ate in the dark.

Bennett Maxwell

Well worth the $10. The tour starts every 30 min and last for 30 min. Our tour guide Isabella was extremely informative and very funny. The tour included a guide as we walked through the tunnels and leaded about the different rocks. A lot of history of the mine was given, including the life of the miner, how long they worked, how well they were compensated etc. Half way through the tour they turned off the lights and only allowed one candle in the mine for light. Then the candle was blown out and you couldn’t see your hand one inch in front of your face! Definitely worth the time and the money. Highly recommended!

Scott Olson

Interesting tour of the mine. Well worth the money. Paid a couple extra bucks and paned some gold.

Edward Coles

Very very reasonably priced. $20 for our family of 5 plus $8 to pan for Gold and let me tell you, we got a lot of gold! So much fun for us all! Ages 4-30. Highly recommended. Jason Davis

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny!

Sara Pierre

Boring! Even the guide hated her job. Not worth 8$ a person.

K J

I went here with very low expectations, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. They gave good history of the mine and gold mining in general. We even tried the panning for gold and enjoyed learning about it and came away with some gold. I was impressed withe the information and how well they explained about the mine and it history. I would go here again.

Mathew Somlai

Our tour guide, I believe her name was Isabel, offered a lovely history of the mine, as well as a great description and experience of what it was like to be a miner with only a candle and a sledge hammer as your tools. Great tour, fun panning afterwards, and well worth the low entry price.

Elenka

(Translated by Google) Interesting guide, relaxed guide. Cost 2 $ p.P. Drin is cool but not cold, you can go in the T-shirt. (Original) Interessante Führung, lockerer Guide. Kosten 2 $ p.P. Drin ist zwar kühl aber nicht kalt, man kann auch im T-Shirt rein gehen.

Visited on a Wednesday morning (around 9am) in July and was able to get a private tour as no one else had arrived at this time. I found this tour to be quite interesting as I've never been in a gold mine and hearing about the stories of what life was like for miners back in time. I really enjoyed the part when you get to experience complete darkness in the mine. The tour lasts about 30 mins, and my tour guide Nathan was really informative and lively. Because I was the only one on the tour, I was able to ask specific questions about the mine and the surrounding Deadwood area, as the tour is scripted to cover all the key topics in 30 mins. Definitely worth visiting if you're looking for a quick activity.

Nicole Ryan

Tour doesn't take long and is reasonably priced. Guides kept the tour interesting and we're very knowledgeable about the mine. Great place to take the whole family. Not far from town so easy to get to.

Lisa Clark

Had a great tour guide cant remeber his name but he had the radio voice which was relaxing and fun! He gave a great tour and gold panning afterwards!

franz stichter

(Translated by Google) Nice mine tour about 30min in a disused old gold mine unfortunately without gold. (Original) Netter Minenrundgang ca.30Min in einer stillgelegten alten Goldmine leider ohne Gold.

Jenn H

Interesting history

Derek Seefeldt

A nice little piece of history, quick little tour was nice. Panned for gold flakes at the end. My kids enjoyed it.

Chrissy Jackson

Awesome

Chris Hettinger

It would be easy for them to get 5 stars. The mine is awesome! If it wasn't all authentic, I was sure fooled. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but the last tour of the day is at 5:30. Our tour was that, and contained 2 to 3 times more people than it should have. Initially, the guide repeated the information for the 2nd half of the group. As the tour progresses and we got closer to 6:00, it became apparent she wanted to get home. We missed the last 2 information stops because she didn't repeat them and what she did, she spoke very fast. The panning for gold was the real deal. You buy a selection of sand then go to the water trough to seperate out the gold. You do get real bits of gold. Don't expect to find a nugget, though. The children really loved it. Be careful not to get gold fever, it is a real thing!

BLT Clark

Interesting mine, fairly short tour.

Scott Biegert

Place is an awesome chance at a guided tour in an old mine. Tour was guided by a very knowledgeable guide with a sense of humor. It was reasonably priced and even panned for some gold. The three kids I had with me loved it!!!

Ronald Cooper

Excellent small mine experience. For the money, well worth the time.

Andrew Maier

This was a lot of fun. Hunter gave an informative and entertaining tour of part of the mine, and then helped the kids plan for gold afterward! Parking is right on the road but the price is reasonable and they turned an old hole in the ground into an interesting visit for two children!

Marilyn Edwards-Roberts

A fun time was had by all. Especially the grandson. There is some gold in them there hills.

Spearfish,SD Local

When you all come as a large group it starts getting expensive per head, and we didnt get to pan gold, It was an ok experience, obviously a tourist trap, would we do it again ? No

jodie rief

I had so much fun and the tour guide person was really nice funny interacted with us and taught us a lot and it was a really cool site

Jeremy Sabers

Great tour very cool little slice of Deadwood and mining history in the area. Great guide as well.

Kerstin Roemke

(Translated by Google) Great leadership! (Original) Tolle Führung!

Scott Runkle

Tour was interesting and the kids had fun panning.

Aaron Willey

Fun for our family with 3 young kids. This is a family owned historic gold mine. The guides were very nice and knowledgeable about the history of the mine. This place was kid-friendly; they offered kids a bag and told them to keep any rocks they picked up. At the end of the tour they offer a lesson on how to pan for real gold. For a cost we could keep the gold the kids panned.

John Marion

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and panning for gold.

Jennifer coffman

Loved our tour guide! Sorry, I can't remember your name!

Jeff Winkler

Bethany Jefferies-Smith

We showed up a minute late for a tour and an employee came out and caught us up to the group. The staff was friendly and patient with my daughter and her questions. Prices are reasonable and they gave opportunity for pictures.

Karen Ford

Has gold panning in a small trough and your of old mine. Panning was fun, especially for the kids. Tour was okay, it is a small mine and our tour guide was less than enthusiastic.

Kathie Hefeneider

A great family attraction when you are in Deadwood!

Cindy Henrich

Pretty good. Not too long g in the mine. Kids loved panning and actually getting some gold!

Paolo Leoni

(Translated by Google) Very nice and informative. (Original) Molto bello e istruttivo.

Daniel Meinerts

Cold and dirty fast tour

Dhag

YOU WON'T REGRET THIS ONE! The tour was both fun & informative. Our guide was knowledgeable & was able to give a good lesson in local history as well as about the rocks & minerals. She kept our group, including children, engaged throughout. The price was lower than others in the area. My kids did the gold panning lesson as well & each were excited to have their little vial of riches. Definitely recommend giving this stop a go!

Paige Lesher

More spacious mine than Big Thunder in Keystone.

Thomas Porsel

The guide Wendy was funny. Good tour. Can pan for gold and take some home.

Noah Hansen

Cool mine and the tour guide was very kind and helpful, told us lots of neat facts about the mine, you get to go through the cave, take pictures, and you even are given a bag to pick up some rocks off the ground to keep! We did the optional panning as well and it really taught the group how panning for gold works and we all got to walk away with our own little bottle of gold we collected and panned for!

Jennifer Peterson

Afordable family friendly knowledgeable staff a short but fun tour had no idea this was so deep

Scott Reston

Informative tour with a great guide. You'll get a chance to experience the total dark that miners dealt with.

Paul Gunter

Meet to see the inner workings of an old mine.

Tomilyn DeLong

Our tour guide, Angelica, was both informative and and whitty. Made everyone laugh and was sure we all had a great time.

James McIntire

Very fun and exciting place to visit while in Deadwood. It gets you away from the histle and bustle of the main street area. The staff are all a lot of fun and knowledgeable of the history of the mine. It's a definite must visit on your Black Hills vacation.

Cassie Brydl

Josh was a fabulous guide with a perfect mix of humor and history. Definitely worth the money to experience what a mine looks like. The candle part was my favorite!

Charlie Jenkins

The tour here is great. They provide a detailed description of all of the techniques and history of the mine that fueled the popularity of Deadwood on the late 1800s. An added bonus is the cool 60 degrees Fahrenheit the mine keeps year round. A perfect escape from hot summer days.

Jack Wilson-Maher

One of the best tours I've been on

Christinna Fuqua

Sort of small, but interesting story. Jared, our tour guide, was funny and knowledgeable.
