So glad we stopped here. Perfectly sized aquarium for our toddler granddaughter & any small child overwhelmed by large places. Hands on and up close activities for her to learn about the sea creatures she might see in the waters around here.

Very cool place to bring the kids. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. My kids loved the sand box and craft. Great for kids of all ages. The money from admission goes towards save the bay efforts. It's right on the beach. Parking is only two dollars if you get your ticket validated and under 90 minutes.

Non-profit little aquarium that encourages touch for all ages. PRO: Staff was extremely friendly and willing to talk about the aquarium, introduce the animals to the visitors. All around an excellent time for the family. CON: Mostly based on volunteers so hours are limited during the off season. Space is a bit small, so it can get cramped once 5 or 6 families are inside at the same time. Conclusion: Great place to visit. Prices are extremely affordable, and will be visiting more when they are open more often during the summer.

So dissapointed, tried to come today only to be told all parking was reserved. They told us to go to the next lot that was $20 to park. My mother just had knee surgery and has a difficult time walking far. I wish your website would have told us there would be no parking due to a wedding. Smh. My son was upset. Anyone trying to go there i recommend going early to insure you have a place to park.

Fantastic aquarium located right on the beach in Newport. The aquarium is in the ground floor and has an entrance opening up right onto the beach. For a fairly small footprint, they pack in a wealth of information and displays, most of which are kid friendly and allow you to touch, handle or feed the fish and other animals. A great facility to visit with the family during your visit.

Jay D.

Fun place for kids of all ages, and adults too. Petting tanks with sharks. Touch tanks. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Great climbing rock outside at the beach. Stop in.

Stephanie Todd

Great place right on 2nd beach

Rebecca Knowles

Fun little Aquarium right on the beach! While it is small, it kept the kids entertained for about an hour, and could have been longer if we didn't need to leave due to our parking timer. The aquarium had many touch tanks, where the kids could hold/touch the animals, including a shark! The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was evident that they are passionate about educating guests about the Bay and the animals that inhabit it.

Kiley F

So cool!! My son was extremely excited about the shark. Everyone was kind and extremely knowledgeable.. def returning!

Good place for fish lovers, If you would like to pet aquatic life or be educated about them, it's not a big place but its fun.

Eudy Nunez

I came here for a quick trip from Providence to get away and enjoy a magnificent day with my partner. We loved the service and attention of the staff here. We learned so much even as adults. It is small, but there are so many cool things to discover about our next door neighbors in the sea right here in R.I. Definitely a great place to spend an hour or so with the kids or just on a date around town. You can also after the aquarium, head to the beach and enjoy of a swim, if it is hot enough, or walk around, pick up many pretty shells, and enjoy the views if it is not.

Very small, about 20 minutes with my 2 year old. Some animals to touch. Great exhibit on live developing shark and skate egg sacs- the highlight I my opinion. A good cause to support, $8. Enjoy the carousel by the Lobster shack!

En upplevelse för barn och vuxna att få klappa en haj.

Great small aquarium, proceeds help to save Narragansett Bay

Greg Harris

Both my wife, Kat and I loved visiting the Save The Bay Exploration Center. Although it is a bit small, we enjoyed looking at the aquarium’s collection of strays, stingrays and sharks. The volunteers at the aquarium were exceptionally courteous and had great knowledge on their sea animals. For tourists visiting Newport, Rhode Island, we highly recommend that you visit the Save The Bay Exploration Center. It is located right near the beautiful Easton Beach, with ample free parking following Labor Day thru Memorial Day!!! Easton Beach Snack Bar is also right near the Save The Bay Exploration Center and they offer wonderful refreshments and great service!!!

Michael Dean

Wonderful group of people that care about the environment, with a focus on Narragansett Bay. My children are older now... but we enjoyed many regular visits over the years to Newport’s Easton Beach, to see the exploration center, as it changed and evolved. I absolutely recommend this spot as a place for young children to learn about the water around us, and what lives in it.
