A beautiful drive and walk. Rhode Island may be small but has plenty to offer. You can see what the American elite called summer cottages but are truly exclusive mansions. Parking is hard to find but you have to get out and walk to truly enjoy this area.

Lots of scenery that makes you want to live here. There are lots of clearly expensive homes that overlook the ocean. The entire drive is clearly marked with signage so you don't miss a single turn. Be sure to stop at the Breakers as well. Soak up the ocean views.

One can barely see any ocean from this drive. Depending on what expectations the name 'Ocean Drive' builds on your mind, it is either a pure waste of time or just a well built concrete road. In any condition this has barely any relation to the ocean apart from there is ocean somewhere closer to the drive.

Nice drive but don't see much of the ocean. Start at Thames street, continue to Wellington Ave, then Harrison ave, Ridge Rd and then Ocean Ave. There's a beautiful spot at Brenton Point State Park with some benches.

Amazing winding road to see spectacular varieties of shore lines. Kings Beach is a Great diving spot. Especially late August when the baby tropical fish are up here. Lots of great houses to see and is especially pretty August and again the the Fall. Exceptional parking spots on the right side if you start at the end by the mansions. The entrances aren't well noted. Once you see the parked cars on the right, if you didn't enter, go in the Next. This drive will also show you historical wealth and opulence at the mansions. They all have vastly different contents and grounds. Look for specials as well as certain holiday decorations of the mind blowing propensity #RockFromRI

In my opinion, I feel like Rhode Island might be a little underrated. People tend to forget about this place because of the small size, but in fact, the scenery here is better than any other drive like this. It has a good view of the whole sea, which personally is the best thing about Historic Ocean Drive. The pictures you can take here are amazing and this is a place that I recommend going to during your visit in Rhode Island. Happy traveling!

Ocean Drive is what reminds people of how beautiful Rhode Island really is. I visited for the first time this past weekend and the scenery on this drive blew me away! You have the spectacular mansions on one side and the rocky shore on the other. Simply amazing! There are plenty of spots to take photos. One of my favorites was the little rocky cove just past Gooseberry Beach. You have to take this drive if you are visiting Newport so you can fully appreciate how stunning this small state really is.

Absolutely beautiful especially when sun is setting! There are places to fish just be careful there are a lot of large rocks you may have to climb on/around. Some spots have benches to relax on and take in the view. Definitely would recommend driving along ocean drive! I enjoyed it a lot!!

I think I was expecting this to be a bit lengthier. It's mostly just a cruise around homes that you can barely see and a little bit of ocean. Not the highlight of our trip but if you're doing it anyway, try to time it so you can see the sunset at Brenton Point. You'll have plenty of time to finish the drive by dusk and we really enjoyed the view from there.

There's also an area where you can park to gaze and picnic. The town or state allow sculptures to be place randomly.
