A nice little museum, with a great view of the water. Came here for a wedding, so the museum was not the primary focus, but it was a nice place to visit before the ceremony. You have to be more of a sailing enthusiast to fully appreciate it (not me or my wife), but it was interesting to learn the history of the Herreshoff company and ship building in general. As a wedding venue, we had perfect weather so it was excellent. The tent is a bit exposed, so for weather that is less-than-perfect (rain or cold) I imagine it would not be very pleasant.

Excellent! I spent 5 hours on the property.

Great little museum. This Museum focuses on sale boats and specifically competition within the America's Cup. They have an entire wall devoted towards Ted Turner. Some of the ships are over a hundred years old and they run sailing classes out of this location. Great place to network with individuals who are sailing aficionados.

I never knew much about AMERICA'S Cup, and the building of boats. Our tour guide, Bill, knows everything. To top it off, the museum has a slew of boats to see closeup to see the engineering and craftsmanship.

A must see museum if you are a boat person.

Not only are the boats beautiful and interesting, the staff could not be nicer or more informative. Ask questions! You'll get thoughtful answers about this most unusual place. How did a company in little Bristol, RI, build boats so fast they beat nearly every other comparable racing boat in the world,, including those of super-rich owners, like Sir Lipton (of tea fame) and the British king? What made the "wizard of Bristol," Nathaniel Herreshoff, and his blind brother so successful? It's all here.

Mike Murphy

Nothing fancy, just fancy priceless boats in a simple building. Step aboard amazing old fashioned catboats yawls.

We purchased tickets for their viewing party to see the Bristol, RI Independence Day Parade, the oldest in the nation. It was amazing! The provided covered seating, copious bottled water, breakfast and lunch, and toys for the kids (we have 2). The best part was the staff; they don't have diaper changing stations in their bathrooms, so they put a foam pad and sheets on a sturdy table in the conference room and even provided wipes! The staff were so friendly, thoughtful, and welcoming. It was just a fantastic experience, and we look forward to going back for more events.

Great indoor museum with history of both Herreshoff boat building and America's Cup. Can walk through museum boats displayed inside. Also, we have sailed here twice, grabbed a mooring for minimal cost and have easy walking access into Bristol within 15-20 minutes.

We stumbled upon the Herreshoff Marine Museum after searching high and low for a venue that wouldn't feel like a typical wedding setting. Upon meeting their events manager, Elsie, we nearly signed the contract on the spot. Elsie was such a joy to work with during the six months that we planned our day. We didn't have a coordinator, so Elsie helped us with a lot more than she needed to and we couldn't have been more grateful to her for that. I trusted her immensely and followed her advice whenever she suggested something because she's overseen dozens of events here. The spaces at the Herreshoff are very flexible for whatever kind of day you're planning. We ended up having a colder day in October, so the morning of our wedding, we decided to move our ceremony inside to the Hall of Boats instead of getting married out on the dock. We then had our cocktail hour and reception inside the tent and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. The Herreshoff asks that you work with one of their preferred catering vendors (which I honestly welcomed, since vetting vendors was sometimes the hardest part of planning), but really lets you work with whatever other vendors you'd like. I'm not the most creative person, so we really didn't do anything to the space and it turned out beautiful. With that being said, if you're looking for a blank canvas, the Herreshoff can absolutely be that as well! All in all, we're so happy that we found Elsie and the Herreshoff.

We really went there to learn more about America's Cup sailing it's a subject that I am just now becoming familiar with since I live on a sailboat. Learning about Captain Nat and his blind Brother John building this fabulous company was very unexpected. Very enjoyable day walking through the museum and getting so much information. Look for our video on this day on YouTube SV JUS DREAMING
