As a long-time lover of everything-Warhol, I was blown away by the sheer SIZE of this museum. Watching people cataloging (still) all of the things he kept. Looking at the phases of his life through the multiple levels. The cloud room, The Velvet Underground room, seeing his videos and Edie through his eyes. I can't wait to go back, and it was my favorite part of visiting Pittsburgh.

An exhaustive review of Andy Warhol's life and work, an artist of enormous influence and originality. You can spend lots of time if you wish, as dozens and dozens of his films and videos are available for watching. Lots of hands-on exhibits and you can try to re-create his artistic techniques with your own hands. Also, don't miss making a "screen test," or silent video of yourself, which is free, but take a moment first to think through what you are planning to do while you sit there for 3 minutes. My advice - move around in the seat in different poses. Choose the brightest light setting as the videos come out dark.

This museum is so so so fun!!! It’s so fascinating to learn about Warhol and also he created so much! With a lot of different mediums! Definitely worth spending a couple of hours here. Plus in the basement you can go and create your own screen print art! Also if you are a student you can buy your ticket for only $10!!

A friend and I enjoyed a rainy evening exploring the Andy Warhol Museum. It had several floors that were arranged in a chronological manner. I like that it felt as though I got to know Warhol better as I progressed through the museum and became more and more familiar with his work. There were a few interactive exhibits that were interesting as well. All things taken into account, it's a very nice collection and a great museum for educating people on Warhol. We came in just before closing, so we sort of had to rush through and we barely had 5 minutes in the gift shop, but it seemed very nice. I'd definitely suggest any Warhol fans check it out. The tickets were a little pricey, but not to the point that I regretted buying them. It was a nice thing to see when we were exploring Pittsburgh.

Andy Warhol is a Pittsburgh GEM. We are so lucky to have this museum in PIttsburgh to see so much of his work up close and personal. There is a studio in the basement for hands on experimentation with screen printing, a theater showing his films and rooms of art. You can also enjoy his art over coctails certain evenings.

This is a 7 story building filled with Warhol's art and details about his life. There are a few interactive exhibits. On the bottom floor there is an art room where you can create cool things to take home for free. Warhol's work will leave you feeling curious and inspired to be more creative.

Wow! I went here initially because I am an artist and go to any and all Art Museum at least once. I had not been to this one, a d felt obliged. By the time I left I was changed 180 degrees in my opinions about Andy Warhol. The Museum is superbly curated, and there is a sense of organization and progress to the seven storey building. I went with my partner who is not an artist, but appreciates art. We both left feeling impressed, a bit awed, and definitely more knowledgeable about Warhol. I'd reccomend this Museum to anyone, even if they don't like pop art.

Amazing place to learn about this iconic artist. The different floors each showcase an era of his life and his work during that time. Start at the top floor and work your way down to stay in chronological order. The whole building was clean and well staffed. Some exhibits are hands on and very clearly labeled as this. Due to the open art on display I would not recommend for small children. Bathrooms were clean and easily located. Coffee available on site along with a gift shop. Parking was quite close but not free. If you visit make sure to have your picture taken in the photo booth in the basement and to do a screen test, they are both worth it. The tickets are expensive but for an art lover quite worth the price.

Save your money for sure. It cost $20 to get in and $8 parking. We thankfully had free tickets to view it. People say to keep 2hrs set aside to go through but we made it through in about 20mins of the 7 floors. Save your money. There are only about 5 or 6 pieces of art on each floor. Tons of better things to do in Pittsburgh while you are in the city.

Excellent exhibit showing Warhol's work. The rotating exhibit is hit or miss often interesting, but sometimes falling flat. They rotate Andy's exhibited work a few times a year. Fun Friday nights where they are open late.

Meh, its a thing to do in Pittsburgh as a tourist. I recommend using that time to explore north of the city a bit..Admission is $20 for adults which i think is a little steep considering the museum is just 6 floors of Warhol. Amazing artist with so much talent. Maybe 4 stars if the price was less. Do i regret it? No. Did i have anything better to do? Also no.

Wow, so much amazing Warhol. There are pieces he did as a kid, and all throughout his career. It's arranged chronologically, so you begin your tour on the top floor and work your way down. Just spectacular!

Always thought Andy's art was pretty hackish, and contrived. I really enjoyed seeing his early work, especially the pencil drawings from school. Definitely changed my opinion, and I definitely see the art he made and how I was wrong about him previously. This museum is a must see for anyone visiting Pittsburgh. A unique piece of history dedicated to 1 person. It is literally 4 or 5 floors of all of Andy's stuff. Filled with a lot of original great paintings, if you enjoyed any of his work, you would love this place. Crazy to see these paintings go for millions. You can really get up close and personal with these paintings and it is right in a nice trendy area in Pittsburgh with cafes around.

The exhibits were great. Each floor explored different periods of Andy's life and art style as it evolved. There were plenty of interactive peices and films. I especially enjoyed the video casting booth. There was also an exhibit for a more recent artist that was considered a lofi aesthetic, definitely worth the visit. Museum staff were helpful at the front desk as well.

A good museum that was worth the money, even if, like me, you're not a big fan of Andy Warhol or modern pop art. If you don't know that much about modern pop art, it can still be a fun time even for kids. My 10 and 12 year olds really enjoyed it. But it really helps to read the explanatory material on the walls before entering each room and seeing the film on the first floor if you don't know Warhol. They kind of explain the philosophy and promotion of Warhol, which were more interesting to me than his art. The gift shop is great and surprisingly funny. It is very unique. But it is a little r rated.

Had a great experience at the Andy Warhol Museum. So much of his work and history is available for viewing. Several interactive exhibits to keep you entertained. Didn't realize all 7 floors of the building were open for viewing. Highly recommend checking it out. Parking directly across the street was $8. Left our car there while we walked around exploring Pittsburgh. Easy walk across the bridge to Downtown.

If you are a Warhol fan then you must visit the Warhol museum in Pittsburgh PA. I took the guided tour with a knowledgeable docent and learned a considerable amount of info about Warhol that I didn't previously know. One of the neat things about the museum is the basement where you can make your own art using Warhol techniques.

The basement do it yourself art studio was the best part! Loved practicing some of Warhol's techniques on my very own piece to take home. Andy Warhol's pieces are not my favorite, but I did love his children's book and art he created. His life seemed to be pretty sad overall. I would not call this place a family friendly place. If you do bring children, please note that there are images that may be offensive.

The museum is excellent! There’s 7 floors of artwork to view and interact with. The parking lot is right across the street. A small cafe inside with nice gift shop. If you have additional time in the area then head over to The Strip. There’s great restaurants and unique shops.

This is a great museum of art. Even if you think you don't like Warhol art, go through it anyway. There is so much more diversity than you imagine. He went through several phases and I think there is something for everyone. Because of how much material they have, the museum can be curated in so many ways that periodic visits would reveal new things. Plus the 2nd floor is a rotating artist exhibit. On this visit we enjoyed the silver clouds installment - made my wife and I feel like kids.

It was absolutely wonderful. There are 7 floors of Warhol work. It starts from the very beginning and has works from his NY advertising days. The museum is very well laid out and gives a very accurate and interesting portrayal of Andy's life and career. I paid $20 for one adult admission on a Wednesday. I went in around 2 pm. There were a handful of other people in the museum. You pay and take the elevator up to the 7th floor and work your way down. The bottom floor houses the current exhibits from other artists. I really enjoyed this. I had some soup and tea at the Warhol Cafe downstairs and it was marvelous. The hibiscus tea was so good. There is parking across the street from the museum. There is an open lot and across from there is a parking deck. Enjoy your experience. :)

other than Picasso this is the largest free-standing museum dedicated to one artist and the exhibits are always changing they also have events at night which are worth attending I love Andy Warhol he's got a place in my heart there's a movie that you should must see on the first floor that gives you a little insight into Andy's life it's only about 15 minutesyou started on the 7th floor and work your way downstairs through the different museums the balloon room with mylar balloons floating all over is it worthwhile exhibit just in itself

My second visit. An excellent presentation of his life and work. Andy Warhol was a genius, years ahead of his time. An iconoclast whose work has become a reference across many domains. It's hard to get to (welcome to Pittsburgh), parking and entry are too expensive. But worth the visit.

The Andy Warhol Museum is set over 6 floors, with one dedicated to his personal collection of memorabilia and one floor for a guest artist. The collection itself is superbly presented and includes famous works as well as drawings from his days as an art student and when he first began working as a professional artist. They also have a room where you can watch videos of Warhol, some if these are brilliant and include sketches he did for Saturday Night Live in the 80s. When we went the building was fairly quiet and we could easily see everything we wanted. They also have a good gift shop and a bar that served alcoholic and soft drinks, snacks and local beers. We were there for a couple of hours but you could easily stay longer.

Super interesting museum! We were there on Sunday right at 10am when they opened. The staff is super friendly and helpful and explained how to find our way through the museum. It’s a clean but friendly place. We also participated in a gallery talk, where a staff member told us something about the films and movies Andy Warhol made. It was really interesting. If you want to read all the signs, look at all the paintings carefully etc, you should at least bring 2-3 hours of time with you!

First time at this museum. The building has several floors with Mr Warhol, art , pictures, movie and displays. Even the kids as young as 3 were intrigued by some of the art work which were interactive. There is a art area in the lower level for anyone, children to adults to create an artistic piece of work to take home. We were all infatuated with the seat and camera that you just sit for a few minutes and it gets emailed to you. There are several areas to shop around the museum, restaurants, and PNC stadium is in the area and also the step fountain to take pictures or the kids to play in. I bring a 3 year old here a lot. The museum is a wonderful place to explore and play. Lots of open space, a nice quiet toy area in the basement. And of course, the kid loves Silver Clouds.

My FAVORITE place in Pittsburgh!! Truly a must-see, even if you’re not a huge art fan! So much original work to see, including handwritten letters. Would definitely go back again! They also offer a Student discount, which is awesome.

Nice Art collection and laid out well on several floors. The only thing that upset me was they said it was on the north shore, it wasn't. After driving up and down the strip that would be considered the shore, found out that it was on the Nort Side's North Central. It's sad they try to create this north shore thing, nothing more than marketing that makes it confusing.

Fantastic museum full of beautiful pop art. Great place, very inclusive. On each floor there is a small exhibit of tactile recreations of a few pieces and braille descriptions of the piece as well as visual text and a thumbnail of the original piece. Also, for the exhibits that incorporate sound there are noise cancelling headphones available for noise-sensitive visitors. If you or someone you know needs these accommodations this is a fantastic spot to check out. It is also free with a membership to the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh! 10/10, fantastic place, full of opportunities to learn about truly one of the finest American artists of all time.

What a great place to visit. Loved every floor, especially the interactive part of the exhibition. It would be nice to see more of the time capsules, but I guess I just have to come back again and visit :) Thank you for the wonderful experience. It's a must see place when you visit Pittsburgh.

Neat little cafe tucked in to the side of the Warhol museum. The walls are lined with his art which adds an authentic aesthetic. The food choices are shifting from day to day, but the one constant is there incredible coffee. Highly recommend giving this place a visit if you live in the North Side.

Andy is an absolute icon and I suggest this to all my friends when they visit the area. However I always play the default tour guide since it seems many of the staff aren't big Warhol fans. Or they had a long day. ::shrug::

One of the most inspiring museum experiences ever. Anyone with a modicum of knowledge of the artist would be wise to check his/her preconceived notions at the door, because you will soon learn that Warhol contributed so much more to the world of art than paintings of soup cans. For example, his work in advertising illustration was groundbreaking and innovative, and he was so much more prolific in filmmaking then I ever imagined. Another highlight of the visit was the opportunity to explore techniques that he used, and even try them for yourself. One of the most important aspects of the experience is that is that it is imperative that you tour the museum from the top floor down. And speaking of the top floor, the displays that tell the story of his early life in Pittsburgh really serves to put the rest of his career into perspective. Finally, here's one tip about getting to the museum: Pittsburgh is a little big city. It is amazing how close the Warhol Museum is to the center of the city. If you are staying in a hotel downtown, and if the weather is nice, I heartily recommend walking to the museum. When doing so, I recommend the route across the Andy Warhol Bridge. It's the bright yellow one. And incredibly, it will take you less than 15 minutes. This museum is a must-see for anyone stopping in Pittsburgh.

This is a pretty neat museum - gives you insight to the artworks of Andy Warhol, whether silk screening, film, textiles, & more. If you're out of state, & not a member, $20 seemed to be a tad high. My son's student ID took $10 off, so that was quite tolerable for this museum. If you're into art, you'll enjoy it. It gave me more insight & knowledge about the man behind his artworks.

One of my favorite Museums in Pittsburgh. The prices for entry are very reasonable and they have students rates if you have a student ID. There are always new exhibits and guest artists that rotate through. A must visit if you' re visiting the area.

Really cool place. I like the diversity here. They also have gay soap bars which is probably the highlight of the whole place.
