This Tourist Attraction corresponds to the category of History museum.
We only had an hour here but we could have spent an entire day between the permanent hall (free to explore) and the other temporary exhibits (which cost money). The Constitution Hall (free exhibit) was fantastic. There is a lot going on, which could be distracting and overwhelming at times, but I managed it by sticking to one (either the inner or outer) circle of the exhibit at a time. There's a lot of background noise and music from the plethora of exhibits, and the exhibit room itself is quite dim, but it was made up for by the probing questions and thoughtful interpretations throughout. We will definitely be back.
Everyone should be required to visit to see how history keeps repeating. The main exhibit is very good and the current one on Reconstruction is great. Not crowded at all on the Saturday morning I was there. You could spend several hours if you have the stamina
Very well done... Nice exhibits... Great show in the theater. For someone who generally doesn't like museums, I found it to be a great experience.
Shows a lot about history in such a fun way. The exibits where a work of art and very informative
Awesome place to learn about our founding fathers!
Loved it. The theater was wonderful. Well worth the price of the ticket.
An excellent and moving place. A must see for all ages. Follows our Nation’s history from the signing of the Declaration to current times. The room with bronze life sized statues of our fore fathers is exceptional. We will go back and visit again. If you travel to Philadelphia, don’t miss this!!
Great moving experience for the whole family. Signers hall was amazing and the museum itself was so informative and interactive. It kept my 4 year old and 11 year olds attention for quite some time! Super friendly staff and it wasn't too crowded so we could experience everything. Also a copy of the bill of rights is kept here and it is just amazing to see such a historical document in person. Staff were super friendly, clean bathrooms, and the food prices were comparable to what you would expect in a museum, $3 for a fountain soda pop, $6 for chicken fingers, $2 for a bag of chips, etc.
This is a wonderful place to visit in Philadelphia. Very thought provoking. However, I would not suggest going on a day that has numerous school groups visiting.
We were here for about 2 hours. Could have stayed 4 more and not seen everything. It is an amazing museum.
Wasn’t impressed with the apparent agenda. Just so you know, Trump is OUR President. The only evidence or mention of this was one picture behind a curtain you had to search for. The theater presentation was great until the end and the worshiping of Obama and his failed agenda. News flash, Obama care was shot down in the Supreme Court. Time to update your film. Trump has been in office for over two years, that’s plenty of time to include the historic components of his Presidency.
An exceptional and moving experience in a beautiful setting. Worth a special journey.
Worth taking a tour. History coming to life right in front of you.
Great for educational reason, bad for entertaining children
So many things to do!
A must see in Philly. Bring the kids. Very interactive. Must watch the "We The People" theater show. It's very inspiring.
The history is excellently done. Signer's hall is brilliant, too. The presentation is great. Thank you!
very bad. don't recommend
A must see! You will love it. @schmidthomeconsultants #professionalMDrealtors #blessed
Its my history everyone should know about the country they live in and its beginning, know matter how painful the past. Each of us all African American especially. Know your complete country history.
The performances were phenomenal, and the interactive exhibit on the second floor was interesting. The exhibits on the first floor were more limited in scope, focusing more on early constitutional writers rather than the Constitution itself. Overall, 100% worth the price of admission.
Inspiring and educational. My 11 year old twins loved ut.
Very well done and tons of info available.
We learned a lot and it was really interesting. It kept my kids' interest the whole time too!
Had a blast. Lots of hisory
Great place. Lots of fun.
Absolutely nerd-vana. Life-sized statues of all the singers of the Constitution, informative exhibits with impressive artifacts, a helpful staff and moving live performances. A must-see if you are in Philly.
This place is very educational family oriented and I'm going to visit this place again nd my kids are too
Kimmel Theater introduction is a good place to start your visit. The special Hamilton exhibits great.
Did the walking tour our guide was great pretty funny too got to learn plenty of history the dont talk about in schpol
Very Interesting place..My group and I came here to explore. And I had fun taking pictures with the statues..
Great place to bring your family too and its free
There was a young man very informative of the history of the signing and about the men who did the signing and those reluctant to signing.
It was fabulous!!! I'd recommend it to anyone..
Great lessons about the constitution and why it is key to our freedoms.
I loved the exhibits because they're so interesting and details with lots of different ways to learn the info!!
The tour guide was very interesting was not Dull. Even though he had a lot of facts a lot I did not know. With a chaperone to fifth grade they enjoyed it
Staff was very nice, even though i was walking around in a fog and not being the best of visitors (i lost my water bottle somewhere) everyone was very helpful
I liked it, but my 6 year old was bored.
This place is worth of every penny that you will spend on the ticket. Probably this is the best place to introduce yourself to an American culture and history. If you are an American- this place will make to even more proud to be one. I totally recommend this place to everyone - no exceptions. Children, adults, youngsters, teenagers- this museum will be 101% beneficial for everyone. Only knowing your past you can build the future! I have bought a combo ticket in visitors center - national constitutional center and museum of American revolution for $29. If you don’t have a time for both of them - don’t worry- tickets are valid for ONE year!
This place is worth every dollar. There is a fantastic actor monologue in the theatre. A video of Ben Stein answering constitutional amendment questions. The state's in order of inclusion in the union. See soldiers tents, learn about Henry box Brown. You will easily spend 2 hours here.
The place was huge, it was a great experience. Everything looks amazing, and lots of information! I mostly loved the theater, it was an amazing sight and great story! The narrator in the theater explained everything about the U.S. and how it became how it's like now. I really really suggest going, and better with friends or family!
Great place to visit. Be sure to catch the show it's very interesting and full of history. This is also part of the art reach access program making it $2 per person for 4 people.
Well worth the visit. The narrative movie was exellencent.
Walked through the centre food court. gift shop. Restrooms out the other side to see the Liberty Bell well worth the visit
Accessible at multiple levels. I have been studying this for years and was pleased to be reminded of details. Nice treatment of difficult be issues; honest but not overdone. Will return to spend more time.
Nice location.. Movie in german and a Service man give us in german Informations... Like it...
Amazing grandson had to read everything could of been therr all day
A little dry but very informative. Older kids would be OK but would avoid bringing smaller children
I loved this museum. It's informative without being dry. It takes an insightful, unbiased view of America's founding document and applies it throughout the ages. My one criticism: the building is much larger than actual museum.
We went for the Hamilton exhibit but was very pleased to see there was more than that. There is so much history about our country in Philly. We loved the Freedom Rising exhibit that was performed by a beautiful lady. There were lots of people around to answer our questions. There were interactive exhibits and more traditional reading and artifact ones. We will definatly go back.
This is a great museum for people coming from other states and countries. You can really see the rough history of the United States. Also, the museum is great for school or summer camp groups. I recommend this museum for anyone in the area with an hour or 2.
Great museum for adults and children. Very interactive esp for keeping the children interested and excited
Well designed and laid out. Friendly staff, a piece of history for all. Visiting was a good move on my part. Highly recommend
A must historical site you should not miss.
I mean I just biked by this place, didn't really check it out. Looked nice tho
Great view of Independence hall, and close to the Liberty Bell. There are statues of the delegates here as well. If you're hungry, there's a cafe. On top of that there is also a small museum which briefs you on American History.
you will love and appreciate more your country after visiting this museum
Love all the history you can learn about.
Awesome movie, awesome atmosphere, and I've signed the US Constitution (I've even get a certificate ))))
The building is very nice and a nice staff. Bronze presidents are impressive. Very educational
I was expecting more.... Maybe I'm missing the point. There really are some cool things here, but I just wasn't wowed. If you're here, you probably should go, but it's a whole bunch of reading. If you're visually impaired like my son, not everything is accessible unless you have a reader with you! Not necessarily super exciting for little kids either, but we are all grown so it was what we expected.
it's very educational, fun and historical
Never been there until now....would go back in a heart beat...learn new things every time u go there
Great place. Visit and learn allot of history
Don't miss the gift store for fun and unique items. And pay the extra for the show. Worth every dime!
Very nice place. Lots of history and its a must while visting historical philadelphia!
I have been here many times, and each time I learn something new about American history. There is a fun 20 minute live presentation that provides an overview of the Constitution's history, and then interactive exhibits that cover major milestones and amendments. The exhibits are truly interactive, and include voting booths, trivia, audio segments, video, and more. They also have rare early drafts of the Constitution, which are really cool to see together so you can see the document's evolution. The Signers Hall features life size bronze statues of all the men present for the signing of the Constitution, which is one of the coolest aspects of the museum. Docents are easy to spot and eager to answer questions and tell you more about the museum. They are all knowledgeable and friendly, and one of the museum's best resources. Plus, it's right by Independence Mall and many other Center City historic sites. Also be sure to check out the website, which features at least some of the exhibits in digital format.
Like in many American museums, there are competent and useful guides
The convention center was awesome. Especially the replicas of the ones that signed the Constitution.
So informational just a joy to finally see
As a non-American totally worth it for the insight into the countries history and the foundation on which it's built
Great place. All American citizens should visit this place and learn our history since it's not really taught anymore.
Went here for my senior ball the week before I graduated. It is a great event space and I had a blast.
Incredibly clean and a nice step inside out of the heat
THIS WAS AN AWESOME EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE !
Fantastic show of American history. Freedom Rising show is a must-see. Plan to spend a number of hours here if you want to get the full experience.
Every American should visit to understand what American history is. Great visit!!
A lot of history and information. It was cool
Learn some great things about the constitution
So much information that if you like to read everything, like I do, leave yourself several hours. Pair with the Museum of the American Revolution and get a discounted combo ticket. Do a museum, grab lunch (I recommend Amada) then do a museum. Or some a night at a boutique hotel nearby and do a museum each day to manage information overload.
Oh I loved it here...I learnt so much about America's history. I loved the statues showing William Penn and co
We came about an hour before closing, which was cool because the admission was discounted. The citizenship exhibit was very nice, hands on. Wish we had had more time to explore!
Quality facilities. Definitely not low income housing
Great place. But it's not what I expected based on what National Treasure showed me.
It's nice but a little boring after a short self guided tour but a lot of important information.
This is another must see museum. You can learn so much. Take time to go!
Great History for all ages. Amazing touchable statues and hands on educational activities.
Great for family and lived the displays.
Fantastic walking tour. Amazing the amount of history in such a small area. Highly recommended! Great for about 10 yrs+... Younger than that probably a bit boring.
Pretty cool place. Check out your local library for a free pass
I love how they keep updating and adding new exhibits
I really enjoyed this museum. The statues of the signers of constitution is great.
So many exhibits, interactions, and information. Come on, get informed about US history
Gives of living in history. Must Visit for all American history lovers and wanting to know about American Independence
FANTASTIC place to visit and learn about American history and fun facts!! Matt Riffe the manager is totally awesome and his Tour guides such as Connor Behm are truly excellent!!
Hot day outside but super great visiting our nation's history
Really interesting presentation. We were the last group of the day. We would have liked more time. Liked all the rooms. Good docents.
Great place to know some of the history of the United States
Liked reconstruction exhibit. You could spend hours here.
My church went there for a trip. Very informative and educational. It's good to know about your US history. And the children had a lot of fun.
A true national treasure! Great exhibits for the entire family.
Never been be for. Thanks to Wawa Welcome America week most of the museums r free. Loved it.lived in Philly most of my life and walked passed it, rode pass and never went in. Please take your family. U know u get discounts on admission with a a Access Card. I think I will exploring my city.
I was very impressed overall but especially by the theater in the round performance. I was not expecting such a dramatic production
Excellent! Just Excellent. History lives. Exquisite facility. You will enjoy it.
It was great for adults or teens , not stimulating or interesting to children 12 and under.
Beautiful new building. Compelling 4pm presentation. Make sure to see exhibits on BOTH floors!
A must see if in the area the displays are intriguing and guides / ushers are very knowledgeable. There is amazing views from the lawn.
The walls are blue for good reason. There's certainly a bias as far as the telling of history - including the emphasis on certain points. One volunteer, George, engaged visitors and asked them their opinion of the sitting president. When one guest said that she felt he was doing a good job, George decided to list the personal failings of the sitting president. When I approached and asked him if it was his opinion or that of the NCC, he said it was his own even though he was wearing a polo with the NCC logo and a lanyard with the same logo and his name and picture. He insisted that he was exercising his right to free speech. I've reported the incident and was assured that the organization is non-partisan, but I doubt it will go any further than that. George does have the right to free speech, even when he's representing an organization that has a different mindset from his own. What George does not have the freedom from are the repercussions of that exercise. One repercussion is that I'm exercising MY right to free speech and leaving a one-star review of the NCC because I was standing in a room with life-sized reproductions of the founding fathers and had to listen to his leftest propaganda while representing the organization (and by extension everyone who supports the NCC).
Great place to go for a tour and to learn much United States history and everything that happened here in Philadelphia. There are rotating exhibitions and so much to see!
Filled with astonishing historical artifacts. The 3D presentation is mesmerizing!
Great, but I did not allow enough time. Looking forward to coming back.
Impressive museum to learn about the history of the US Constitution. Many displays and treatises covering how the Constitution developed, changed etc. Some honest observations by the contributors as well. If you are into political history etc. this is well recommended
Amazing place to learn about our Constitution. Presentation was great. A must see in Philly
Come check out the Civil War exhibit along with me, Henry Box Brown during the summer. Our stories will astound you.
The Constitution Center is located in Old City near Independence Hall. It is extremely well done and work the trip. It starts with a combination live actor/multimedia presentation. When that is finished you exit into the museum itself where to learn not just the history of Constitution but hope it continues to be interpreted to this day. There is also an excellent exhibit on Civil War Reconstruction on the first floor.
Not a huge amount of content but what was there was well presented.
Had a good live 20 min show, but otherwise really nothing but a huge new open space. Save your entrance fee (which is way to high for what is on offer) for something more interesting or informative.
We loved it. Great place to spend the 4th of July. The show was awesome and gave us goosebumps.
This is a really great place to learn about the United States Constitution it's a great exhibit is a lot of history in there kids of all ages will learn an awful lot out of that and I even recommend adults going there and brushing up on their constitution so they can follow the news in the politics a little better.
Place is very informative. Ppl are helpful n nice.
Staff are great, the museum is simply awesome, been to a lot of museums and this one is my favorite. Note, I think you have to been a person who likes history, politics and law to enjoy this museum. It's well laid out and the theater was amazing!
So glad I stopped here. I was almost going to skip it for the Museum of the American Revolution and I actually liked the National constitution center better. The projection show was amAzing and does a great job of giving a quick overview of the events leading up to and post constitution. Loved it.
Unfortunately robbed the atmosphere by kids and their teacher reacting about Trump even though they were all of 10 at most, teacher included. Hate works both ways don't breed it young.
I always enjoy going to the Constitution Center, the exhibits are interactive and it's a Wonderful place to go to for the Whole family.
This was our second time here. All my kids love this place, even the 8 year who is hard to please. Lol. I would def recommend this place. And be sure to have time to read the plagues so you learn the history.
The show was pretty clever and informative. The exhibits were also very educational without being overwhelming. Definitely worth stopping in to get a little history lesson/ brush up on the history of this nation. Some interactive exhibits to help those that need something to touch!
Beautiful and so historical, I recommend this place for school trips and tourist stops
The only time that I have ever been inside this building....is when I decided to take the time and see if it was worth all the hype. It wasn't and I had a feeling that I'd walk out of there feeling that way! The gift shop is filled with a zillion things, t-shirts, pens, pencils, refrigerator magnets, playing cards, key-chains, hats, etc. I had time on my hands and I was interested; so, I started looking at every tag on at least one of every item that I could find in the entire gift shop and, I swear, I checked at least one of every single individual item in the entire store and nothing was made in the United States. Not. One. Single. Piece. Of. Merchandise. Not. Even. One. Soo. Damned. Pathetic. What a joke!
Great starting production that established the theme for the interactive displays. Thorough and memorable. Very high quality. Highly recommend for all ages. Beautiful facility.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Highly commend the theatrical production providing an overview of the constitution and it's history and significance. For the very reasonable price of entrance you get hours of interactive content that is educational and also highly interesting. Could not improve the experience and highly recommend people do not miss the theatrical performance if attending.
This is such a moving and educational opportunity. Every American should see the Constitution Center and the Freedom presentation. An awesome experience!
Without a doubt, this place is worth an afternoon. Stirring presentation, great perspectives on probably the most important document in our history. Now that we had independence, the Constitution helped us preserve it. Lots of exhibits and things to read. Simply a history buffs paradise. Signers Hall is the ultimate photo op. All the signers are there in life sized bronze statues,You must go.
Excellent historical museum! We brought a group of 25 teens and 10 adults through. They were extremely accommodating. Their staff made sure we were taken care of from the meeting space we rented to ensuring our valuables were locked away while we walked around. They even brought in the actress from the freedom video to our meeting so that the teens could ask questions.
Very nice, clean museum! The life size statues were a little hidden on second floor, so don’t forget to see them!
Very nice museum with a very nice show to really lead you into the topic of the history of the Constitution (and other important US documents) and the whole idea behind the principles the nation is based on. In the exhibition, it advances on how these principles were stated into laws, and how these there interpreted by politicians and jugdes, and therefore formed the USA as it stands today. In that they sometimes take a deep dive into political theory, as an interested reader you can for sure spend over 3 hours in the exhibition, although it sure gets repetitive in some points. As a nice historic hands-on approach, the "hall of signers" let's you see and touch all the signers of the constitution, which is especially suited for funny pictures!
Excellent show. Very well explained exposition. If you’re a little bit interested in American history a visit is a most. Very good gift shop as well.
This is a great museum for people!! It allows you to see the history of the United States.
