A wonderful experience and friendly staff. Production value could have been a bit better, but still a great sight to see.
Has some neat stuff, but not enough neat stuff for the cost.
The exhibits were wax figures and some photos. Nothing really that interesting. The whole thing smacked of colonialism since most of the exhibits were oogling the cultural practices of non European peoples.
It's not as good as you'd expect.
Fun for kids, not much bang for your buck though. The price for 1 exhibit should be what they charge for all 3.
Awesome place! Definitely recommend getting the city pass to visit the other places.
Fun place!! Definitely recommend if your into weird stuff!
A good place to take your family to! I loved it and hope to go back soon!
Just buy the ticket for ripleys and go slowly. The other 2 attractions pale in comparison. Many oddities and a really cool ending room drops you right into a gift shop full of key chains, cobwebs, and t-shirts. Fun once, but certainly will not entertain all day. An hours worth of fun is a rough estimate.
Displays were dusty and dated, seemed kind of hokey, but the kids liked it.
It was okay. I had visited this Ripley's 20 years ago and it was pretty cool back then, but now it could stand a little upgrade, but my husband and i had a great time.
Pretty neat place to take the kids.
Great little bit of fun to take kids in.. awesome deal for all three attractions 10%off with military I.D.
Didn't really have many things to look at lighting poor.
It was ok. But they told us that they are closing soon for a complete remodel. I would say it's very much needed. Staff was friendly though.
The sights of the things they have are pretty inexplicable! Beware if you have glasses, there's LASERS when you enter. 10/10 would go again
Managed to get all 3 tickets for $15 each which was quite a saving. Of the 3, Ripley's was the best followed by the aquarium then the wax works. I'm glad we didn't go to the wax works alone as they were quite disappointing. However all 3 together was a great afternoon and the kids loved it.
We had a had a blast here. It was so much fun with the kids
It's was an awesome experience.... I can't wait to go back
I strongly recommend that you do the Trio when visiting here. Well worth the money spent
Cheap props and a weak self tour. Don't waste your money.
Fun place for all ages
A little spendy but fun
This place is neat but could definitely use some updating.
Best party. Small crowded. Smelly. Too expensive. And really not the best exhibits. If a child great. If an adult don’t go.
Some parts are getting pretty run down
One of my favorite places in the world
Belivet it or not... enjoyable it
My boyfriend and I had a blast here. I would highly recommend this place. A lot of amazing story's. And the Art work was phenomena.. I recommend the package deal.
Great for first time visit! Nothing spectacular that deems a repeat visit but not disappointed!
Great place for the weirdo inside yourself :)
For my first visit here, it was more than I expected it to be! Each "scene" had a ton of facts posted around the display, and the displays were in really good condition, considering (Jonny Depp looked the worst because people keep touching him). They had interactive displays where you could be in the moment with your favorites; even an awesome play room for kids!
An absolute disgrace. So bad they should pay people to come in. Many of the displays, including blurry photographs and reprints from their long-since canceled newspaper features, I saw 30 years ago, and even then they were tired. I was in Newport recently looking for some tourist entertainment for my nephew, and I carelessly assumed that Ripley's must have updated their displays during all those years. But no, the place was still mostly the old low tech props, worn down, dusty, cheaply made, and no entertainment competition for the same time on the internet. Your tourist dollars are far better invested in fish and chips and ice cream, or walk across the street to the pier and see the sea lions for free..
Exactly what you think it is. Well worth the price.
They're going to redo the whole exhibit and I'm excited to see what it will look like!
Very good deal for your family to see 3 great attractions. Ripleys is a great place for families to make some good memories and learn about odd facts from history!
Fun little adventure with lots of stuff to see!
Had great time with family
This is a tourist trap for sure. We paid for the three attractions since this was our first time in Newport. Ripleys was interesting enough but not something I'd need to see again. You can tell some of the exhibits are pretty old. We parked in their lot, up behind the building. The stairs going down could use some maintenance, there are stairs that literally go nowhere (maybe that's part of the mystery??)
Only visited the gift shop as the main attraction was closing. Gift shop was great we all found trinkets and a jacket for my granddaughter
Can't wait to go there again
Cost a lot for what it is, old outdated boring!
Love this place!! The kids had so much fun and we adults did too!
We had fun at Ripley's! It's a nice and quiet location and its pretty easy to pass through at your own pace.
Really old and worn down. Just ok.
Fun place to go but getting old and aging
Definitely a place worth checking out. I learned a lot and had a blast
Has some good scary parts
I was very disappointed. We checked out the website prior to visiting to ensure that this museum was open to visit. When we got there, all three museums had signs stating they were closed for the season. While I did enjoy the historic area where the museum was located, our entire reason for visiting this area was to see the Ripleys exhibits.
We opted to just go to Ripleys instead of all 3 attractions. The price isn't too bad and it's nice that kids 4 and under are free. My kids really liked the dance room and kept going back to it. There are a couple of spooky parts, one with a jump scare mummy, but you can actually bypass it if you have a little kids you know will really get scared. The mirror room at the very end is also a kid favorite. All in all, if you are in Newport it's worth the trip.
Weird and fun place to go.
Bigfoot is my spirit animal. I love him. I'm an avid collector of Bigfoot and things related so getting to see one was super awesome. Thank you!
Its ok. Nothing to bragg about when you go home. The whole package deal was $80 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Diving show, wax museum ,and Ripleys. All together the price wasnt too bad. Would I do it again? No.
Kool place
It was fun with neat facts. Good place for kids.
Finally got to go here! Was a bit disappointed though because I was expecting more oddities than they had
Always so much fun here.
There is some really cool stuff in there. Very interesting, got some great pics.
Have been thinking here for years. Could use a change of material but always cool regardless
It says online that it was open, but we arrived to a sign on the door saying it was closed until next Spring.
It was ok, could have a little more light , and a kid area, the one kid area was not clean and pretty bare . Other than that it was great
Needs updating. Fun for families.
Weird place but it was so fun!
Thought exhibits had good quality, just a bit short. I would like to see more added.
Had a lot of fun. We purchased the tickets for all three museums. It’s a bit outdated, but not in a bad way. They are running a promotion that if you buy tickets for all 3 you get $5 off after the remodel. Definitely will come back to see the updates.
Loved it. Thank you Mr Ripley for the good memories.
This was ok. Not great and not really worth the price. But seen a few interesting items. You can purchase the Under Sea Gardens tickets at the same time. Don't waste your money on the Undersea Gardens. I'm sure at one time it was great, but it needs totally revamping, and more fish or sea creatures. Was unimpressed!
Interesting, unusual, not sure if worth the price though.
So much to see, it was awesome
lots of fun worth the admission cost
It was fun but after going through I definitely think it is over priced. Good for people with kids probably.
Cool, but not as cool as other Ripleys we've been to across the country. The staff was very friendly, but everything seems a little worn down. I bet this place was something to see back in 1996 and since I had just graduated high school back then I probably would have been one of the ones jumping around on everything and wearing it down. If you are around it's worth checking out, BUT it's not worth going out of your way.
Very cool place. Love it so much and it's a very unique place. Always clean and exciting. Had lots of fun.
Awesome! Do all three attractions.
Was what I expected. Think the kids play area was fun. Hahaha
It's a Ripley's place same as most you will visit throughout the US and the world too. Some of the attractions/detectors did not work so well though. Over all a lot of interesting things to see and learn about in there. Some of the built in shows were a bit of a dull viewing and very passable in the long run.
3 Years in a row but still amazing!!
I can't go to the coast without visiting Ripley's and the kid's always learn
Closed for the season when we were there looked cool through the windows
I enjoyed the 3 different attractions for the low price! It would be nice to see a few more wax characters but other than that great job! Gotta get a wax hand done in the lobby area. It's a great price at this location!
Always fun to check out. Very lifelike
Have a good thing to play but not as you think not very waw
Ripley's is a fun place to visit with family - always a favorite with kids. Don't expect a highly educational experience, though. It's more about oddities and entertainment. Still worth the visit from time to time. The attractions are showing their age, and really need some restoration work. They draw a huge crowd during the summer, so hopefully they'll have the funds to work on it soon.
I have been here quite a few times. It's a lot of fun for the kids. Take your time though, unfortunately I am usually jogging through keeping up with kids. It is a cool place to check out on the Oregon Coast!
It is a fun side trip for kids, a tad dated though. But if you have an hour or two to kill, it is worth the stop.
Really cool place, wife and I had fun, and want to bring the kids back. Bigfoot also touched my butt.
Over priced and in need of updating. Same displays that I saw 11 years ago when I went. Good news is they are supposed to be updating this fall so we'll have to wait and see
Thanks for not stating your closed...
We had a good time. It's pretty campy but neat.
Love this place. Kids love it to. Fun for the family.
Awesome place I go to dame place for the last 5 years my family enjoy the time in this place
It was alright. Have been to better Ripley's in other states.
Scary for little kids but good.
We only had one hour and went in anyway. It turned out to be one of the best things I have done and I will be going back to see the whole thing. It is very well done.
Fun place to visit. It’s kind of kitschy- it’s supposed to be lol. My kids are HUGE Ripleys fans though and this was everything they were expecting. It was a fun museum of the weird and macabre with lots to look at and see.
Always fun to check out while there, since there is not much out there anyway.
The kids were excited, freaked out, and eventually worn out after we did the triple attraction. This was a fun opportunity to do something unique and memorable with loved ones.
way too hot inside/crowded. A bit too expensive imo. pretty cool overall. not really for little kids. some things are pretty scary for kids under 7 or so.
Wasn't my thing. If I was another 20 years older might have been more interesting.
Fun place to visit a bit pricy. Kids loved it something you could do once every few years or a great place to take family /friends visiting. Very cool gift shops to check out
It's... Okay. I hadn't been in years, so my husband and I stopped in during a weekend at the coast. It was like $30 for us to both go in, and it seemed less impressive than I remember. It wasn't horrible or anything, but for the cost of admission I kind-of expected more. The displays were simple, and seemed to really rely on the "spooky" atmosphere they tried to create. I felt like I was walking around a dark room full of kids projects.
My fiance and I came here for a day trip and got discounted tickets from Groupon. Overall the experience was a good one and the price was right with the discount. We enjoyed the star room most of all and talked about it for days after our trip.
Fun, interactive place to explore with the kiddos. Definitely feels better when you get to see it at a discounted price, but it's fun, gimmicky, and actually full of great unknown facts and fiction. We loved the dance wall...I could have stayed there all day and played and have asked my bf to figure out how to make that happen at home. Front desk helper was really friendly and helpful too.
So my review of Ripley's will be as far as seeing the outside cuz I did not go in to Ripley's or the undersea Garden as you can tell by the pictures I walk down the bridge plank like little warp thing to see the sea lions and the sea lions were great I would have to say if you are in that general area go see the sea lions and spend a little bit of time like watching them they're hilarious and they all have character
This was really cool! I wish we had more time to go through their little aquarium and their wax museum as the tickets are cheaper per person if you do all 3 but the Ripley's museum was very informational and my 4 year old had fun looking at all of the spooky things.
This combined with the Wax museum and Undersea Gardens are a fun little tourist stop. They can be a bit expensive for the experience, but you can find deals online. We got a Portland Park and only paid $15 for all 3.
I love this place because its awesome
Great wax sculptures. Exciting facts and laughs. A little spooky and pretty fun. With the right expectations you'll have a good time.
Not too impressive. I went once before when I was younger. I don't think it gets updated that often. Staff were fine, but overall experience didn't make me go WOW.
It's been pretty much the same exhibits on display for a few years now. It's neat to go through once.
Very dated and cheesy. We enjoyed laughing at it. Pretty dirty though bring hand sanitizer.
SO fun!! Been there twice. Different each time but equally fun!
Meh. Fun for the granddaughters
It is cool, don't get me wrong but I feel like I would have gotten just as much amusement with more information from a book. It's definitely more amusing for adults. The wax museum was awesome but scary. I probably wouldn't/shouldn't have brought my 5,6, and 8yr old. The culture is dark and spooky
Went with my family and had a blast. So much fun seeing all of the crazy exhibits they have.
I liked it I just wished they updated the exbits
Nice experience years ago. Newport Ripley's could use an upgrade. If you have been there once, really no need to go again. Kinda like the sealion caves
Its always a fun experience coming to a Ripley's, I think it's just as much fun for adults as for kids.
Fun trip! Lots of reading, so not a lot of activities if you have young people with you. Loved Ripley's Believe It or Not as a kid, so if you remember the tv show you'll love walking through this place. It's in a great area where you can walk, shop, view sea lions and eat!
Fun place to visit again. It was cool to see a lot of the things that I remember from before but at the same time it has been almost 18 years and I recognized almost all of the attractions there. Time to update.
Tickets purchased allow access to Ripley's, the Wax museum, and Under the Sea. We had a great time. We missed the divers show, but they let us keep the tickets for next time, and still got to see aquariums. All locations were super friendly.
I was expecting a real dump, but it was actually kind of neat. We are glad we went. Don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed. I did see some little kids that were a little scared at a couple of the oddities.
Always fun, always worth reading every word it says....lol. I drove my family crazy reading every last word but I enjoyed myself immensely. I must have been in there for at least 4 hours.
Was closed down when i was there..website said nothing about it being closed.
Good place to see different things
Loved it and every moment the nostalgia from being a kid and watching this. Had alot and very photo friendly a lot to look at and read. Definetly a fun thing to do with Friends or family!
If you like a bit of classic tourist trap this place is wonderful. I came wanting to see oddities and peculiarities and I was not dissapointed! The displays are a bit dated but frankly that's half the fun! A good distraction for the kids if you need to kill an hour or two.
Had an awesome fun time expect for the part where we got stuck in some jars!
Out of the 3 places, Ripleys was the better. The wax museum is old and boring. The underwater sea garden is plain out dumb. What a waste of time. We saw one type of grey colored fish. This place could be so much better if someone invested time and money.
Super hot, way outdated, kind of accidentally old-timey racist
This place is pretty cool . I like this place . It's amazing here .
Really enjoyed walking through the Ripley's Believe it or not
This place is really cool! It could use an update but it's still a blast & kids loved it!
Fun for the family in Newport. However, we went there during summer and it was SO muggy and hot inside the museum. We rushed it a bit just to get fresh air. Needing better ventilation.
Very old. Outdated.
Great fun for kids that can read. Be sure and take the time to read and show kids all that there is there. Fun for kids and adults alike.
Displays are getting old but still a fun stop.
Loved It! Was One Of My Childhood Happy Places! Decided To Go Back 8/18/19 And Was Happy With How Amazing It Still Is! Plus The Gift Shop Is Perfect! Kids Stuff Too! Prices Are Great! Will Be Coming Back With My Son Soon!
Fun for you and your family
Undergoing renovations stvtge end of season, curious to see what they change. Fun place if you've never been, the kids seem to enjoy it as well
A must visit. Every time I travel to Newport old town is always my destination! And it is never complete without the attractions.
It was good but you can't re-enter for the show and we had over an hour and a half to kill so we skipped it.
Really cool wish it was a longer experience.
I'm originally from Oregon and have been to this Ripley's Believe it or not probably 100 to 150 times in my lifetime and I still love it!!! Mariners square is the best!!! Omg the smells!!!!! Wonderful!!!
It was closed for renovation. The website did not mention this so we went. Maybe next time.
In desperate need of an update and new exhibits.
Overpriced. Paid 60 bucks and only took us 30 minutes to see everything. Kids were disappointed.
It's an awesome place but don't bring your kids if they're scared of everything
