REVIEWS OF Pittock Mansion IN Oregon

Sarah Rogers

Beautiful and well taken care of. The views of my city are fantastic! I love taking people from out of town, always a nice surprise for them.

Karen Flom

Very interesting, the views are amazing. Good restoration, beautiful grounds.

David Elting

Only checked out the grounds, didn't go inside. Amazing views of Portland. The mansion and grounds are beautiful and there are lots of informative signs. We also looked online to learn more. I didn't go inside so I can't speak about that part. The outside grounds are free to visit. Going inside costs money.

Dee Ellis

More than I expected lots of fun!!

John Osgood

Great visit. Love the beautiful old mansion, the views and the gorgeous gardens.

Pat S.

Absolutely amazing experience. The mansion is gorgeous, the grounds have great views and the history is awesome. Fair price and all the employees were awesome!

Eric Reese

A really nice step back into the past. Lots to see and read at every turn. Lots of tiny details to attract your attention. A beautiful place to visit and spend a few hours. Sad that you have to request a special tour of the 3rd floor and basement. You can even visit the house the chauffeur lived in. Breath taking views. One thing I didn't like was the donation boxes. You already pay to get in why put out boxes asking for more money.

kirti sharma

Great place if you like exploring old mansions and a sneak peek into their lives. Not disappointed at all. Infact if you are in Portland and visiting Rose Garden and Japa see garden then your next stop should be Pittock Mansion.

Jeanne Tillman

I have been there twice and enjoyed the gorgeous grounds and garden. They have a great gift shop as well. They do have tours of the mansion, but I found a self guided tour if the grounds is satisfying as well.

Ken Cousens

This is a nice place. The mansion has a variety of rooms to explore. In the back is a great picture of downtown Portland. The house in some rooms feels like it's haunted, which I thought was pretty cool. I would come here again for sure if I was in the area again. It would be good to have some food options or drinks for purchase.

Chris Aquino

Really neat to see how the Pittocks lived but unfortunate that none of the furnishings are original. The tour guide (cannot remember her name) was amazing and super nice!

Khyle Socrates Jaen

Went here just to kill some time and ended up falling in love with this Mansion. There is a special energy here. You can almost feel Henry, Georgiana and the rest of the Pittocks families energy on the grounds. Although we didn't go inside the house, the outside was simply amazing. We will definitely be back to go inside! I fell in love with the smell of roses here. Which seems very special considering the couples love for Roses, Gardening and starting the Portland Rose Society. Visit this magical place! You wont regret it!

Gerrie Bodleymace

Wonderful place to visit. Gives you a wonderful history of Portland and many of the people. The mansion is beautifully restored and the views are breathtaking. Don’t forget to visit the gate house because it is so cool to see. I would highly recommend visiting the site. It is a little expensive but I thought worth the money.

michael sliwinski

Amazing views of the city. Beautiful gardens!

D

Very nice walking around the gardens. Didn't get to go inside because it was closed maybe next time.

Dean Sanchez

This place was great! We had an incredible tour guide, Mary D, and the history of it was incredible. I would highly recommend this place for tourists and locals alike.

Emperor XLII

Beautiful and architecturally unique, surrounded by well-maintained gardens and nature paths. Recommend arriving early.

Bradley Perry

Greta place to see beautiful architecture. I didn't like how they change each rooms dated furniture varying from the mid 1700s to early 1900s. They should definitely stick to what the place would originally look like furnished.

Gloria Villani

I like the picnic area, the view of the city is beautiful, the trails are great to do exercise, the museum is fine, the only thing that I don't like is going into the building and they don't have access for strollers. Is a good place to go and take a good pictures.

Honesty First

Beautiful view. Staff didn't like anyone looking through windows from the outside (rude). Hrou ds were nicely kept.

Paul Lewis

Magnificent house and grounds. Furnished with time period antiques. Many donated by other old families. In excellent condition!

James Desmarais

Great views of downtown and interesting Portland history/trivia inside the mansion

Harkrit Singh

Great views, good place for a date if you wanna see the sunset and grab a pizza

Ashlynn Lewis

While I didn’t pay to go inside the mansion, I enjoyed my time here. The views of the city are spectacular and the history is thriving. You can still enjoy the wonderful architecture and nearby forest from here as well.

Ray Weaver

Wonderful place to visit. Gives you a wonderful history of Portland and many of the people. The mansion is beautifully restored and the views are breathtaking. Don’t forget to visit the gate house because it is so cool to see. I would highly recommend visiting the site. It is a little expensive but I thought worth the money.

Con Brennan

Well cared for historic landmark not to mention absolutely stunning views of the city and some great trails!!

Susan Evans

Amazing mansion!! My grand kids enjoyed there a lot. We will definitely come back!

Nancy Low

Pretty, but could not afford to pay admission.

Shu watkins

Awesome place i think everyone should go explore this plaxe ..the views are like no other..awesome awesome awesome!!!

Adam Morgan

It is hard to beat the view of Portland from here. The self guided tour of the mansion is pricey but I felt okay as it goes to preserving the place. The grounds are free and are excellent for walking or picnicking. The interior is beautiful and a slice of an era. It is fun to just soak in all the little details of the rooms to see how people lived in that time. What conveniences they had or what difficulties they faced. It is not air conditioned and can get quite hot. Parking is somewhat limited. There is a little gift shop.

Kristina Derosier

Felt like it left a little more to be desired after all the build-up (I grew up in Portland but I only just went for the first time). That being said I did go later on at night when the museum itself was closed so take that into consideration.

AILEEN Yu

We can see all portland in here . Parking lot is too busy on weekends. Also not much have stores . U need to bring some drink before going up . Road has a construction and narrow .even road was twist . Be careful on driving.

Chitra Gautham

Nice place to go to if you want to do something touristy and don't have too much time.

Elizabeth Clark

Such a fun family outing! And the scenery is picture perfect. If you plan to tour the mansion with children, strollers are only allowed on the main floor.

Chris S.

This a cool place to visit on a nice day. We went on a sunny Saturday around 3pm and it is a busy place. The exterior grounds are free to walk and better yet bring a blanket and some food and have a small picnic on the grass behind the mansion. if you enjoy history and vintage things then pay $12 to tour the inside. The house is very cool and I’d prefer this to a museum, it’s a very impressive mansion and interior. Like going to some old rich people’s open house.

Greg And Carley Roley

Such a cool mansion. Make sure to ask for the scavenger hunt for the kids when you enter the mansion. That kept the kids entertained. Use your library cultural pass for entry into the mansion. We always forget to use it but did this time and it covered 2 adults and 2 kids.

Turbo Turtle

A lovely historic mansion open to the public with the family history of one of the founding families of Portland. Sadly the family had a relatively happy life so there is no haunting or murder history. Still quite lovely.

J.

Awesome place. cool look into history. several on the fly tours all day and Awesome portland views outside.

Cameron Haugen

Pittock Mansion is a really cool place. On the way up to the mansion there are little historical information about the family who owned it. It’s worth the slow drive to read each one of these. The view from the backyard of the mansion is something you should not miss at all, what a stunning view it is. I’ve never taken the tour of the mansion inside, because it costs money, but just viewing everything around the mansion is worth the visit.

Alex Gephart

Gorgeous architecture, grounds, and view. Free parking means there is no excuse to not visit this historic property. Gates lock at 9, so you can easily catch the sunset over the city after touring the house and walking through the gardens.

Brooke Wayment

Beautiful place to visit. I would recommend hiking up to it! The hike is not too difficult and the views are amazing.

Vicki Wilson

This is a very interesting place to visit and is great for anyone who enjoys learning and looking at history pieces. Entry is $12 per adult and I'm not sure about senior or child prices. There are volunteers in the buildings who ask if you have any questions about any of the pieces which is nice. When we went to visit, you could go up and down three stories. Each room had some information about what the room was used for and some decorations of pieces from different eras. The most interesting parts for me were the bathrooms/showers, heating system, and kitchen. Make sure you go on a sunnier day because you can also walk from the main mansion to the back yard, look at the flowers, and go inside the chauffeur/landscapers house. It is just a very big piece of land.

Chad Corey

Love this place it's a must go!

Aaron Laliberte

The best views of the city are in the park outside the mansion and totally free.

andria Biebs

We absolutely love this place! Definitely a must visit. So beautiful great scenery lovely area and home. Definite on the tourist agenda

Luke Murphy

Beautiful piece of Portland’s history. Admission fee was too high though. Some stunning views, especially in the fall.

D G

Beautiful and inspiring. Lots to learn. Suggestion: if you enjoy walking & nature take a bus. After the nearest bus stop you will walk around 15 min. up the hill and see lovely forrest landscapes.

Mel Law

Great views of the city and beautiful architecture. The gardens were also nice, even while going in the fall. We didn't go inside because we got there close to closing but was still worth the trip.

Cassy Clayman

Like most of my travel experiences that end up being my favorite we ended up here spontaneously. Tbe mansion itself was closed for the day but visitors could still walk the grounds. It was a nice walk but the key to it was this view overlooking the city and out to Mt. Hood. This is a must do stop for Portland residents and visitors alike!

Brianna Elder

Didn’t go inside. The house and garden are beautiful from the outside though. Great place to view the sunset over the city and place to view mt Hood

Devani Scheidler

Beautiful and so interesting. Be sure to take a guided tour; the tour guides have fascinating stories about the house, family, and Portland history. We've been on several and always learn something new. Or wander in your own - or both!

Diana Myers

Wonderful place to visit. Gives you a wonderful history of Portland and many of the people. The mansion is beautifully restored and the views are breathtaking. Don’t forget to visit the gate house because it is so cool to see. I would highly recommend visiting the site. It is a little expensive but I thought worth the money..

Seonpil Jang

Great place to enjoy beautiful scenery of Portland (plus historical lessons)

Mind4Lease

One of my favorite places in Portland. Best views of the city. Go there if you can!

marj1st

I had a very long wait before my flight left and a local suggested this place. Being a history buff, I was so pleasantly surprised by the World's Fair Lewis and Clark exhibit on the bottom floor. Such an interesting time period! The house is gorgeous, the grounds are so pretty, especially with all the shaded trails through the woods. The gate house is definitely worth the little walk down the hill. I love all the period displays, clothes, kitchen utensils, cabinet products. The view of the city from behind the house is breathtaking. And then you turn around and see how splendid the house looks from the back. It's definitely a fairytale of a place. Loved my visit here!

Kian Atkin

Very interesting, well restored. Beautiful gardens. My 12 year old son enjoyed exploring the house.

Nick Janusch

Did not tour the mansion. View is worth checking out!

David Francoso

History at it's best. Beautiful architecture for it's day and age, well preserved. Minutes from downtown Portland up on the hill with views from every window in the house. Lush green landscape surrounds the estate. A must visit when in Portland.

Robert

Very classy Victorian mansion. In a alcove there's a bronze bust of Mr. Pittock. My friend said, "He looks like an *******. I guess you have to be to get a home like this." I found this fairly humourous.

Margaret Mosteller

Such a glorious spot! Very peaceful, like being in a different world far above the noise and busyness of the city below. No wonder Henry Pittock chose this place to build his beautiful home!

Justin Cornett

Beautiful view along with some nice roses and the building itself was nice. Felt like it left a little more to be desired after all the build-up (I grew up in Portland but I only just went for the first time). That being said I did go later on at night when the museum itself was closed so take that into consideration.

Nathan Mikesell

Great place with amazing history and views. Definitely worth the time to go.

Brandon Parr

Beautiful building and property located just outside of the city. I didn't go on the tour but I'm sure it is just as striking on the inside as it was outside. The overlook just past the mansion provides an amazing view of Portland and Mount hood if you get good weather. Staff there was willing to answer any questions and very kind.

Annette Collins

A fascinating slice of history, showing how "the other half" lived in the early 20th century. Plenty of period furniture, explanatory signage, and of course a great view of Downtown Portland. Younger children will be bored stiff inside 20 minutes: my 8 and 10 year olds made it through about 1/2 of the rooms and material before getting antsy.

Trish Erickson

We vsited the first week of April. It was rainy, but still a great place to explore. The mansion is full of historical information and beautiful, interesting things to see. It was a little early for a lot of the grounds, I can only imagine what it will look like in about a month and on a day with some sun! Even with the rain, it wad beautiful and worth the trip. Parking was decent, bathrooms available with a little gift shop on site too.

Adam Beck

Amazing views and the mansion was beautiful. We got some great pics from here .

Julie Manuel

Loved everything about this house. Looking forward to going back at Christmas.

Brendan Alex Phoenix

A free and excellent place to take in Portland and Mt. Hood. My pictures don’t do this place any justice. This is a well known and popular place for a reason. Always popular with photographers and joggers, and, with tourists, too. Parking wasn’t a problem when I visited, but I would imagine weekends to be crowded. A must visit if you’re in the area.

Yami K

Very enjoyable summer spot. Packed at almost all times of the day

Remeesh kk

Very beautiful place, couldn't go inside as it was closed or not sure whether they opens. Surroundings are very beautiful. A nice City view is there further down, don't miss it.

David Mustard

Always a great little stop in. We were there for a quick look and then the hiking behind.

michelle spencer

Gorgeous house. Sad story. Definitely enjoyed the visit. A favorite destination in Portland.

Alice Pennington

A slice of history, beautiful buildings, view.

Cecilia Carr

Beautiful mansion. Definitely a tourist attraction. If i remember correctly we paid $20 per person but you can stay there as long as you like. Great place to go see and pack a picnic.

Elliot Ross

Very modern for it's time (early 1900). Grand - Dual Stair Case and Elevator

Jill Harwell

On a sunny day, without clouds, you can see Mt Hood from the top. The place is peaceful with beautiful gardens and pleasant weather makes up a perfect time to take a stroll through the place. Well maintained and must visit.

Grace

Great views and very well kept establishment. Definitely should see when visiting Portland!

Karen D Garman

This was one of the first places I went when I first arrived in Portland. It’s a great spot to see the whole metropolitan area from, with a view of Mt Hood. I didn’t even go inside the mansion, the garden and landscaping is so beautiful I wanted to stay outside and enjoy all the flowers.

Clinton Lindsey

If you are visiting Portland this can't be missed! The house is restored to it's original glory, including some of the original furniture. The grounds are looked after by the OSU Master Gardeners, and they are immaculate! The view of Portland from the garden is the best in the city! No admission required to tour the gardens and take in the views from the grounds. This is a great place for a picnic lunch while hiking the Wildwood Trail. Beautiful!

Karol Thompson

What a cool place! The mansion it's self is amazing, but the museum inside was really fun and informative. Beautiful views and great to spend a few hours learning some local history.

Dustin Ooley

I have had the opportunity to do the regular and the "behind the scenes" tour. Both are strongly recommended to get a full appreciation for this house. This is a great destination during a hike in the more urban areas of Forest Park, and rumor is that they are building a pedestrian bridge over Burnside to prevent the scramble across that busy road.

Sara Carr

I come here for the views - and they are beautiful! There is also a nice trail to hike just beyond the parking lot. The mansion tour itself is good, similar to any other historic home tour you may go on - but oh the views!

Kaley Hurst

Lovely piece of Portland history with non aggressive docents

Max

Great view if you wanted to see Portland in background and photograph yourself.

Louie Kirchner

A must see in Portland. History abounds this property. Well worth the money.

Rene Moreno

The mansion itself is gorgeous and worth the trip. There's a beautiful view of Portland, plenty of information signs, even for the plantlife. It could get crowded, but it's not too bad if you go during the week.

Orion

What an amazing view! I loved every minute of seeing the city. Great place for a cheap date and the drive is very fun!

Javier Dominguez

If you want a great view of Portland from up high this is a great spot.

Free Demographics

An amazing Portland treasure! Between the incredible views and the wonderful architecture this is a must-see for every person visiting the city. The best part about it is you can get to it from Forest Park on a trail. Forest Park is a beautiful Urban Park of approximately 5000 Acres one of the largest in America. The Mansion is wonderful inside truly beautiful

Kayla Marzette

This place was amazing! There was a particular staff (cant remember her name) that helped us out a lot and was super nice. The mansion is beautiful and have alot of history to it. Plus it had an amazing view of the city from such a high point.

Bill Davis

Definitely a glimpse into Portland's history. Also highlights how far the newspaper business has fallen.

Cherish Behrendt

Great tourist attraction

Juan Rodriguez

Good lookout, even if you don’t go into the house

darin Mcpherson

Very magnificent place. The craftsmanship of the inside and outside and the surrounding areas were beautiful

Angela Collins

Such a great historical place to visit! Parking is tricky but it is free! If you want to tour the mansion and gate house there is a fee but it's super reasonable. The views from the point are breathtaking and worth the trip up the hill. Go earlier if you to enjoy the area with less people around.

Whitney Minthorn

Great view, super friendly and welcoming staff! For the price paid and steady flow of people coming in, public restrooms should be updated.

Linda Endow Hall

The Pittock Mansion has been beautifully restored for the public to view. My compliments to the crew that maintains the grounds! The history shared and the scent of roses made this a worthwhile stop in Portland! Thank you!

Iuliia B

Beautiful historical place! You can drive up or take a hike. I love the views from this place. There is plenty of parking but it can get busy there during the weekend.

Ellary Deferrers

This makes for a very enjoyable day trip when in the Portland area. The house itself is interesting but don’t expect a Biltmore House type experience. We really enjoyed parking away from the house and hiking up to it. There are fantastic trails leading to it that make you forget you are in an urban area. The viewing point provides a great overlook of Portland with Mount Hood in the background.

Rohini Narayanaswamy

This was the first stop on our Oregon trip. Beautiful mansion with great snippets on the history and fun facts of Portland area. The highlight is a lovely view of Portland..and also Mt. Hood on a clear day.

Edward Fischer

Beautifully restored classic historical building. Lots of history and the gardening was fantastic.

Sara M

Beautiful historical spot. Took the tour of the house, so much history. Even if you don't want to go through the house the grounds are very nice to walk through with a great viewpoint of the city.

Courtney Walker

Great place to view Portland autumn in all it's glory. The grounds are so colorful and the mansion exterior was gorgeous. Beautiful!

Victoria H

Always breathtaking views! It's so beautiful and totally worth going up even if you don't tour the mansion. Hiking up is worth it too!

john Eliëns

To reach the viewpoint you don't have to buy a ticket those are only needed for the house itself. On a clear day you have a wonderful view over Portland with Mt Hood in the background. The house is also beautiful and has some futuristic features for the time it was build.

Nagendra sai

Best place to have a view of Portland. Mansion is good.. but we didn't entered inside as it is paid ticket worth 12$. But good view point

Karla Morton

Beautiful day to visit and the view is amazing.

Victoria Dixon

This mansion is pretty neat. There is a "man cave" and all the bedrooms are huge! Beautiful staircase and interrsting tidbits to read along the self guided tour. There is a small fee to do the tour, but the view is beautiful!

Curtis Waters

The mansion itself is a beautiful and elegant piece of history I really enjoyed my time there I felt some what like royalty when inside the mansion... the staff were also really nice...

Karen Stafford

Lovely grounds.Hiked up the trail to the mansion about 2 miles

Nick Tegge

Great view. Tour guide could have been a bit more knowledgeable. Might work better as a self guided tour since it's not worth the money as it is.

TinCanGoat McClellin

Gorgeous place to visit. I can't believe we hadn't been up here all the times we've been to the city. Explore the inside, but make sure you stick around and check out the beautiful gardens and the view of Portland.

Nancy Jones

Carolyn was one of the best docents that we have ever had. It was a huge group and handled it with grace. So informative. Thank you Portland for saving this GEM

Code_ TDC YTG

Awesome looking place and back story to the mansion. You guys should definitely check it out.

Prakhar Srivastav

We were late to get a tour of the mansion from the outside, but still enjoyed it a lot! The gardens and the view of the city there is incredible. Must visit!

Gale Taylor

I hiked up here on the Wildwood trail but did not pay to get in. The views are spectacular, the grounds are beautiful manicured and the mansion is really impressive. If you are like me and didn't want to pay for the tour, you can look in some of the windows and walk all around. If you drive in there is a small parking lot situated on a steep hillside. I don't think there are more than 30 spots so plan your trip accordingly. I did notice broken glass on the ground at all the parking lots so please don't leave any valuables in your car.

Lucy Paz

This place was the best.. my older son show me this. He really knows me... thank you son. I love you.

James Smith

The views from Pittock Mansion are wonderful! Standing at the top of the hill, you get an incredible view of the city. If you do plan on going, make sure to bring a pair of binoculars to really get a good view! On a clear day, you can see Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens, among others. The grounds are well-kept and provide a tonne of information regarding the Pittock family and their technological and economic contributions to the city of Portland. It is a popular spot, but there seems to be ample parking. If, however, you dont want to drive (and you're feeling adventurous) you can walk from the Hoyt Arboretum, just make sure to wear proper footwear, as it is quite a ways away.

Pony Girl

Very neat historic mansion. My library had a cultural pass and we were able to get in for free. 3 story mansion, grounds and a guarden house took about an hour to explore. There was staff that was able to share fun details about the house and its furnishings.

matthew giniat

So glad we decided to travel here during our short stay in Portland. The house and the gardens are beautiful. The historical and cultural information was amazing. Not to mention the view of the city!

Mike Hewitt

Great view from the top although I wish some of the trees would get out of the way of the view! Mansion was also very beautiful.

Denise Figueroa

If you like history and the stories behind them... I highly recommend Pittock Mansion.

Valerie Conner

Great gardens. Good signage for the plants. So many changes since I was last here including the period furniture from many leading Portland families. More eclectic but also more interesting.

Darci Braden

Gorgeous, well-manicured lawn (and surrounding gardens) and the mansion itself is amazing. The view of the city is incredible!

Y Williams

Beautiful grounds! Lovely view of the city.

Emmy Sliwinski

Beautiful hike up the mansion! I went on a rainy day. I will be headed back up on a clear day for sure. The view must be amazing!!

Breakfast Burrito of Moths

Beautiful house and the view of the city from the outside doesn’t even look real because of how astonishing it was. Cool to see the history that is preserved there.

Jacob Rinat

A fascinating place. Good for most children above 7. You can even get a few recipe cards which are supplied by the place if you look for them, and there are also a few interactive activities. The outside area has picnic benches and a great view overlooking seattle. Mostly wheelchair accessible, as there is need for a staff member in order to operate the elevators.

Elbia Thornton

The mansion is beautiful and the view is stunning. We enjoyed walking the garden and smelling all the pretty roses

Kirk Davis

Beautiful day, great view, and a great hike up from the trailhead down below. The only negative was the long restroom line (we didn't buy tickets for the inside of the mansion, where there are additional restrooms).

Melissa Fallon

Great stories. Things never change

Barbara Spiro

What a beautiful place to visit! My mom and I really enjoyed our visit!

Charles White

This is the most regal and historical house in Portland. The almost 360° view is something everyone must see. The Christmas tours are spectacular!

Francisco Castelo

Great Views! The mansion itself is really neat, they have a lot of the furniture and fixtures still in tact. The grounds are very well kept and the trails nearby make for a nice day hike/ sight to see. Walk around the grounds to see the well kept garden and the great view of Portland and on a clear day Mt. Hood. Price is around $12 for GA, and parking is free.

Chris Spurlock

This was a fairly interesting experience. Parking is free but somewhat limited, and you can walk around the grounds for free as well. There looks to be a pretty nice view from the lawn, which we saw even though it was a bit foggy the day we were there. We did the self guided tour, which was pretty interesting seeing the "latest technology" or the early 1900s. If you've been to Portland a few times and see a lot of the main sites, I'd recommend this.

Heart

Great mansion and piece of Portland history. It's a beautiful structure. I went during the Christmas Holiday and the mansion was beautifully decorated. Great view of the city. Friendly staff. Access to forest park. Plenty of parking.

Sue Steinman

Love this place. Beautiful views of the city.

Lore Conway

Beautiful and amazing views. Highly recommend.

Vladimir Soroka

A little bit of history of Pittock family. Get some insights how rich people lived in a beginning of 20th century and enjoy a wonderful view of Portland.

Rhonda Gilezane

The mansion has a variety of rooms to explore. In the back is a great picture of downtown Portland. The house in some rooms feels like it's haunted, which I thought was pretty cool. I would come here again for sure if I was in the area again.

Vitaly Kolas

An interesting snapshot into the lifestyle of the rich in early 20th century. Worth a trip. I would not recommend the guided tour. It's too long and on the boring side.

Barb Tinker

Wonderful place to visit! They really have kept that place up nicely! Staff is very courteous.

Sara Valdez

The mansion was closed, but we walked around the beautiful grounds. Amazing information posted all over telling the family's story ♡

Eric Talaska

I don't think it's worth the price of admission unless you have extra money to blow however parking is free and you can walk around for free and see gorgeous views of Portland and Mount Hood on a clear day.

Janine J

I didn't go in, at 12 bucks a pop just to go in and see furniture my grandmother used to own, eh. But the grounds are gorgeous! Bring your best camera. Yes, I like flowers. There is up on the patio outside the windows purple glass set in the patio. They have flowers I've never seen. The bluish purple ones with pointy pedals, are called Sea Holly. Parking is super super tight. But you really should go. just walk around outside you'll be glad you did. There is a portrait at the end of the garden that shows the old city of Portland, it's fun trying to figure out what is what. And you meet some really nice people there.

Rasha Horn

Very beautiful scenery from the trees to the panoramic view of the city right below. Definitely peaceful, great place to take family from out of town, and maybe for a relaxing Walk alone. It's very safe!

Ignacio Ottati

The drive (or walk) to the mansion is remarkable! The community/neighborhood is beautiful. Once you get there, there is a little parking lot right next to gift shop and ticket center. The Mansion is absolutely beautiful, tickets to go in are $12 per adult. Now if you don't feel like going in the gardens that surround the mansion are gorgeous and of course the view of Portland is the best. Highly recommended spot in Portland.

Lauren Daitz

Great view of Portland and Mt. Hood. Make sure to go on a sunny day, later when the fog clears.

Allie Moore

Great views and neat trails nearby. I enjoyed reading the plaques around the property even though the buildings were closed. Decent sized parking lot.

Kim Sharples

We took the Wildwood trail up to the Mansion. It's a great little hike for all ages. The guided tour is worth attending. Really beautiful and interesting.

Mimi

Really beautiful historic mansion! The grounds are gorgeous and there is even a trail off the property. Even in the rain we enjoyed walking around outside. The views of downtown are just wonderful! My favorite part, however, was the carriage house! It is so quaint and charming!

Adam

Mmmmm... this place was ok... I mean the house was very nice, but I couldn't see paying $12 to go into the house. Maybe $8 would've enticed me to go in! I think this is well worth the visit to at least quickly see from the outside.

R. Lee Donaldson

This was an amazing place to visit for a felling of what it was like to live in the past in a luxurious mansion of it's time. I was so happy we went here to check it out. We were totally blown away by this attraction and amazing piece of history. The property along was incredible with all the amazing grounds keeping. The foliage of trees, bushes, and flower plantings were mind blowing. It would have been so grand to live here back in the day and just walk around the property enjoying all the beauty of the garden and looking out at the views of the surrounding city at the distance. Inside were wonderful furniture and house furnishings of the time period. Unfortunately, they were not originals that existed in the mansion at the time, but were antiques from the time period that matched the lifestyle of the occupants that originally lived there. You really got a feeling of what it might have been like to live there and was so interesting to investigate each room. We didn't rent a car, but this attraction is very accessible via Uber and wasn't expensive to get there and back from the downtown area. If you did drive, there is adequate parking connected to the driveway of this attraction. Don't forget to ask for discounts. They honored my AAA membership. Defiantly a must do experience if visiting Portland, so I highly recommend it to all.

One of the most lovely and architecturely interesting historic homes I've toured. All of the curved rooms on the main floor and stair case make it very grand seeming even tho it's not massive. The gardens are also lovely and very well labeled which is nice if you're a plant nerd like me.

Pittock Mansion is one of the best tourist and local sites in Portland. The mansion and grounds are charming to walk around. The mansion has great history behind it and has been used in some famous movies. Located right along popular hiking trails it’s a great place to go for a short wander. Oh... and the view. Arguably the best view of the city!

This is the view you're looking for. Surrounded by hiking trails and encapsulating early Portland history, there's something for everyone here. Maybe not children, but you know yours best anyway and probably won't need this review to know if they're down to get their history on.

Best views of Portland from the top here. On a sunny day, without clouds, you can see Mt Hood from the top. The place is peaceful with beautiful gardens and pleasant weather makes up a perfect time to take a stroll through the place. Well maintained and must visit. Closes by 9pm

Rich in history and period pieces, this tour was educational and entertaining. Lots to see both inside the house and along the sprawling grounds. Great view of the city from the grassy knoll.
