Whale watching available to view resident whales and migratory Humpbacks. Blow holes spray high from waves, there is a visitor center that is terrific. Plenty of restaurants or Carmel corn and taffy fresh made. Great place to shop for souvenirs and artworks like wood and glass. It is very unique area, a must stop for all visitors, excellent lodging too! Bring your camera, whales, harbor seals, fishing boats and a whale center Depoe Bay has it all.

Grew up here. Worlds smallest harbor and home of the worlds biggest hearts. We love our coast and look out for eachother here. Lots of shops. And the best Chinese around. Not to mention Gracies the best food in the world. You like candy and home made Carmel corn we have that too.

Depot Bay has a beautiful view of the ocean. The tide and the waves are interesting to watch as they pound the rocks. Mo's chowder restaurant down in Newport's bayfront has a restaurant there. As far as I know, I have never eat an at Gracie's Sea Hag. If I have, it's been awhile, and I don't really know what the food is like. Tidal Raves has good lunch food. It is a good place to eat. If you like to whale watch, Depo Bay has spectacular views of whale watching. You could even go out on a boat and watch. There's not much to do inDepo Bay, but if you like to do those things, Depot Bay is the place to be.

Beautiful! The waves crashing over the rocks creates a peaceful backdrop to a wonderful view. Water sprays and shoots up like a geyser. As we drove across the bridge we actually got mist on the windshield! The bridge is made for walking on with a low wall and wide sidewalk. Looking down, there is a an abundance of low rock with small pools. Rough surfaces suggesting a lava from long ago engaged in a constant cycle of wet and even wetter. Well worth the stop along the coast to just stare out and appreciate the gorgeous coastline Oregon has to offer.

Depoe Bay is a small Oceanside Community with the Worlds Smallest Navigable Harbor. It is where The Pacific Grey Whales gather to watch the annual migration of Motor Homes on Hwy 101.

Awesome little seaside town. Nice variety of boutique shops, and the scenery is breathtaking! In the middle of town there is an ocean "spout" that at high tide will shoot water several feet high. We even saw 3 whales!!

Depoe Bay was a treat. Whale watching takes time but I like how they have sets of binoculars for people to use and chairs if you're lucky enough to snag one. An upper deck for viewing too. Dogs aren't allowed in the building or upper deck but they can be outdoors. Whale's Tale charters is near this facility if you want to ride out to view whales in the water. Tshirts across the street in sizes up to 4x. Candy stores make taffy. Just tons to see and do. Be patient for parking though.

This is one of the best ocean whale view spots on the Oregon Coast. Anytime of the year you will see something exciting from whales to the water dances that blow up into the sky. Parking is right on the edge stay in the car or walk along the sidewalk.

My small family and I by wich I mean my wife, visited for the day. We wanted to see their whales but there wasn't a sign of hide nor hair. Oh well I guess right place wrong time. We saw many luscious seafood places but my wife is a vegetarian so we just enjoyed "window eating" hahaha! We will be back someday and until then we will enjoy our Depoe Bay tee shirts.

I drove over to go whale watching from a boat. There boat ride was fun with choppy seas and big swells that kept me pitching about. Not many whales out on a day like this but I had a great time none the less. The one hour boat ride was very reasonably priced at $20.00 per adult. I'm think they have children prices but did not pay attention. I used herbel essential oil for combating seasickness and it worked great.

Labeles the smallest bay in the world, Depot Bay is one of my favorite stops on the 101. The loveliest little coastal town with great food and adorable shops. What makes it really great? "Thar be whales in those waters!" California Greys love to splash and play spring and fall going to eating grounds in Alaska and back. There are also a few "locals" that stick around so you're in for a real treat.
