Very nice and informative.

Not the most thrilling field trip but the place is beautiful and the staff is friendly and offers lots of information.

Doc Hester

I have to say I was expecting more than mounds of dirt in the outdoor exhibit. But the indoor museum was interesting.

Allison Cambre

Utterly fascinating. I had no idea about these people nor their power in the political life of American Indians.

Havent been but looks interesting

christina mayo

Rude staff. Run down.Out of date.. not worth the trip.

Charles Phillips

Had a nice trip with friends to the Mounds. Because of looting in the 30s most of the artifacts are replicas, but don't let that stop you. Talk to the Staff Member (if you can/ it will be worth it) before you go out to the site so you can have a greater understanding of life there. Overall, nice trip!

Great outing

Very disappointed. Get here and they're gone to the bank with no one else on site open up. Highway signs and markings to the site are lacking making it difficult to find without GPS.

I was disappointed in the mounds. The museum and information was ok. If you are around it, go see it. Don't drive out of your way to see it.

Richard Kolivoski

I love going on Solstice and Equinox walks.

James Duncan

You'll need to give yourself 2 or 3 hours to do this properly, so maybe bring a picnic or afternoon tea. Sadly not one of the best funded archaeological sites, but still well worth the visit. The staff were very friendly and it's worth just absorbing the place and thinking about what kind of culture built it.

Zachary Preheim

The museum is interesting, not a while lit to see outside, but a lot of information is provided on the self guided tour.

Autumn Sinor

Wow didn't even know we had an archeological site in oklahoma. It's really amazing and the tour was very informative.

Airreann Leonard

Dani Montoya

There is a lot of history here but the museum was really small and it wasn't very exciting. Could have been a lot better .

Fome Santos

The summer solstice was cool

Kabian Echevarria

Price is steep for what is actually located there. Which is sad because the history of the location is great..in other words. Not enough attractions for the cost

Uncle Grizzly's Country Corner

Ken Stoltz

Friendly Helpful Staff, very reasonable admit fee, Well worth a Visit, good outside weather, and not to HOT, Would be a Wise Choice since long outside trails,,,

Kevin J

Don't show up without cash. No ATM.

James Guidry

May have been nice but now they charge an entrance fee and don't accept cards.

Joshua Shaw

Gary Stewart

The. Book of Mormon is the history of this people.

Aaron Moses

The staff (the site's one employee) was very well versed in the history and construction of the site, but he constantly interjected his own opinions on the government, man-made climate change, and economic class (with noticeably racial undertones) into his explanation of the site. The single employee running this place needs to be allowed to conduct research (away from visitors) and people trained to speak in public should be hired to interact with guests. I can't recommend visiting the place as is, but it deserves far more public support than it is receiving!

Linda Ball

Nice museum site telling about these mounds and the ancient peoples of this area. Mile long loop trail thru the mounds with learning points along the way. Flat walking trail. Electric golf cart available if needed for accessibility. They let you drive it around and return it when you are done. Nice set up.

Richard Ferguson

James Johnson

Oklahoma needs to spend more money here updating the facility and information plaques along the trail

Bruce Johnson

This place was pretty interesting. I think its understated honestly. It could use so,e sprucing up though.

John Winters

Cool place

The Hillbilly Piper

A very fascinating place and look into ancient Native American cultures in eastern Oklahoma.

Kim Barber

Not impressed.

Randy Spradley

Very interesting displays of the Native life styles of the people that lived in this area

Joseph Neves

Drove a ways to see this place and it was closed due to the floods in early summer. When I googled it the status was open so beware. I'll make another trip sometime.

Gerald Koym

Interesting place to spend a few hours

Elise Moore

It's closed until January 2. Regardless of what the info says on the internet, they are closed between Christmas and New Year's. The informational plaques desperately need replacing. The plexiglass is so cracked you can't read the information on several of the plaques.

Jacob Burris

Good for anyone that wants to learn about Indian life and history

Fat Halfbreed

Could not go into the park due to not having cash. The website does not say anything about a cash only policy.

A good place to go if you are a history person. I took my kids there and it wasn't super engaging for younger kids. Lots of interesting artifacts and a self guided walking tour. Would recommend for older kids who were already interested in the topic. Not a lot to grab their attention here.

Joseph Meeks

Place is well kept. Friendly staff

Great little museum, lots of interesting artifacts indoors and we learned a lot about the spiro people :) definitely go inside. As for the trails.. I dont really recommend it for kids, a lot of the trails have mounds where things "used to be" and so there isn't actually much to look out outside. Also, they give you a trail guide which is a printed booklet with numbers that tells you about each marker on the trails. It's got a lot of errors and didn't seem to be printed correctly, so it would be nice to see that fixed next time we visit. Because there is so much trail, you spend the majority of the time there and I feel like you actually interact with very little. This weighed pretty heavy on my personal experience.

Jewel Hilton

The inside of the museum seemed well-kept. Most of the pieces in the museum are replicas. My dad and I were the only ones there. I asked the guy at the desk how long the trail is and was instructed to read the map. I could tell that he did not want to be there. Some of the plaques outside are so old and weathered that they cannot be read. There was a narrow strip of grass mowed on each side of the paved trail. The fields and the mounds were covered in small trees and nearly waist high grass. Only saw a few pieces of trash.

Ayman Nimer

Last few times weve tried to come its been closed due to flooding. Pretty frustrating to travel all this way to see some ugly taped up sign that you cant even read unless you get out of your car and walk up to it. Its been closed for months apparently. Maybe opening isnt a priority for them. For a place thats only open Wednesday thru Sunday they havent made much progress

ernest page

This was horrible. Trash on the site. Nearly all relics or replicas. Not what you want to spent 5$ on.

S Reid

One of the most significant archaeological sites in the US, though sadly underfunding has lead to a somewhat rundown condition currently. The staff/volunteers are wonderful. Well worth the trip for anyone interested in archaeology or Native American history.

Jim Byrd

Jason Raby

Great historical site. The gentleman was very knowledgeable and offered great insight into the history of the spiro people. They just reopened from a flood that caused them to close for months and we are hoping they get the $25,000 that insurance doesnt cover to help keep this place going.
