You have all the feddbacks of people like you who purchased the services of Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History (Tourist Attraction) in Oklahoma.
Currently the business has a rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 and the rating has been calculated on 810 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is almost the best, and it's based on a very large number of opinions, so we may think that the assessment is very accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Tourist Attraction is included in the category of Natural history museum.
I enjoyed my time spent here!
Overall, an amazing museum that feels cutting edge while retaining the charm of an "old-school" museum. I was blown away by the Hall of Ancient Life. This museum is able to combine actual fossils, dioramas, and murals into some of the most well-done museum exhibits I have seen in a long time. The exhibits were educational but not boring, interesting without dumbing down the material. The museum showcases many unique fossils, including the largest fossil skull on record! I was really impressed. The other exhibit halls were pretty interesting, including one on local wildlife and habitats, and another explaining how the museum displays are put together.
Best museum for kids in Oklahoma in my opinion. The dinosaurs are the coolest. They always have new stuff on display when we visit. The price for admission isn't bad either! Four stars because several displays were broken or damaged.
LOVE visiting this museum, it has everything a little kid could want to see with Dinosaurs downstairs and Oklahoma upstairs. Rotating exhibit on the first floor for adults and a fun activity room for kids to explore and play in. They had an "Ask An Expert" day that was also really fun to check out-- Archaeologists, anthropologists, and a guy who sings Dinosaur songs, to name a few. One of our friends booked her son's birthday party here and it was a great event. Veterans get in for free with ID, kids 2 and under for free as well. Such a great resource for our family, especially on cold or rainy days! They are STICKLERS for no food/drink inside the exhibit area, including coffee in a cup with a lid from their own cafe, so plan accordingly!
This museum is really neat. I brought a 4 and a 2 year old and they both loved it. I really enjoyed it to and though the collections and displays were great! I wished I could have read all the information they had displayed. The gift shop had so many cool books and things. My kids also loved the discovery room. The cafe was really the only thing that was lacking.
Nice place to get a n overview of natural history. Could use some updating. But we'll worth the very reasonable price. 3 year old child was not bored but we limited our visit to two hours. Saw about 90% of the collection. Great docents!
Super fun place to visit. Loved the Oklahoma Ozarks part
A very nice museum for its scale - we generally go to see particular special exhibits and I remember how much I like the regular exhibits.
Still a great Museum for old and young alike.
Enjoyable time spent learning even more about dinosaurs.
Impressive. Knowledgeable people to tell about the exhibits
The membership is a wonderful value for the cost. Sam Noble is home to a fabulous collection of actual dinosaur bones, as well as many lovely reproductions. You can tell the actual fossils, (like the Pentaceratops here) because they have heavy-duty metal supports. The Sam Noble volunteers are the BEST. I am so happy my kids can learn about natural history from these passionate volunteers and staff. Sam Noble also has a several changing exhibit spaces, so even if you just go twice a year, you will see something new each time!
I enjoyed all the new displays. I really liked seeing things from the former museum displays that I hadn't seen since I was a kid. I do miss the totem pole.
Love this place. Have to visit every time we are in town or my kids get real disappointed.
Went there for a conference, the facility is okay. They have incredibly strict rules about were you can and can't have food and beverages. Which could make sense for kids and if the establishment was super pristine. But for an conference with professionals in a occasionally dry subject matter coffee is crucial. Would recommend coding a different venue. I know nothing about the museum experience so I gave a few stars back for the museum.
Had the best time with my Granddaughter's, they were excited about this opportunity.
Very interesting, relaxed visit. Not very busy during holidays but lots to look at and see.
I brought my girlfriend (now wife) and her 7 year old daughter here. Both of them enjoyed the museum and all of it's many exhibits. I find this museum interesting for children and adults alike. I highly recommend especially to anyone in the Oklahoma City metro area. If you think you've seen all of the attractions and activities, but have not been here, take a short drive to Norman, and for the price of admission, enjoy every inch of this museum. The exhibits were well done, and the entire place was clean and bright. If I ventured to give any constructive criticism I will simple say I felt the price was a bit $$$!!
Very good , education was great.
Awesome as it always is. Great museum and great real friendly people.
After reading many review's I stopped in with my 3 expecting to get kids outta house and do something with step daughter why she was here from LA was pretty bummed when finding that it wasn't even kinda free like Google kept saying. In fact I'd need 45 for me and 3 kids ages 14, 9 and 4. So we checked out gift shop I had 6 bucks my step daughter asked for a rose rock I stood in line and the lady working ignored us and we was right in front of her. The whole situation was very rude and a let down. So beware it's not free and only ppl who get in free r 2 and younger
Great local area Natural History Museum Rife with exhibits and displays! Truly a grand gem in Norman Oklahoma I completely recommend this for children and parents as well as large groups of people such as schools you will learn much even if you did not think you could! Five stars and two thumbs up!
The Sam Noble Museum is a great place to spend an afternoon or even a whole day! My family and I went there on my 60th birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the musem and exhibits. I went there 50 years ago on a school field trip and had never forgot about the huge dinosaur skeletons and decided it was time to go back. And so happy I did! We plan to go back again sometime in the near future but we won't wait 50 years again! It's great for the whole family. Not only will you have fun but you may even learn a thing or two. I highly recommend this museum to everyone!
Several displays that are very different from the other nature museums.
What a great spot for a wedding reception. Very large space to accommodate many people and very cool stuff to check out.
Made my grandsons birthday!
Great place to visit. We all enjoyed our visit. The of our group was 4 to 80 and everyone had a good time.
Fantastic place
I had so much fun going here. Quite a long drive from Yukon but totally worth it.
Best natural history museum I've ever been to. Amazing hands on exhibits
Great displays & explanations.
So many collections! Awesome fossils. And organized for field trips.
My kids are all very interested in paleontology and geology so they loved the exhibits here. I could go back several more times and still learn something new. We especially enjoyed the Earth history exhibit that made the path wind through the time periods and show the gradual changes in plants and animals. The kids were going in all directions trying to see everything at once. We will definitely be going back.
Great exhibits and very well maintained displays. I really enjoyed the exhibit where it shows different habitats and the different types of animals that live in them.
Had a great time with my family.. Lots of family fun!!
Neat place but fairly small
The Super Saturday event today was significantly worse than the previous ones that my family has attended.
Very interesting! Enjoyed.
This little gem in Norman, Oklahoma kept me busy most of the day. I really enjoyed all of the exhibits and the gift shop was very fun as well.
Fun afternoon museum for adults and children. On Monday kids get in free, bonus! The new megalodon exhibit was fun.
Outstanding natural history museum. Rich with treasures from the state especially From prehistoric fossil record of Oklahoma and surrounding areas , current wildlife, to native American artifacts and history also a very nice, well thought out kids area in their discovery room. My granddaughter really loved the puppets!
I go here every year on my birthday and it's always a wonderful experience. Its clean, the museum itself is pretty interesting and the exhibits they bring in are normally really cool. The gift shop is stocked full of overpriced science toys and the conference rooms they have are really nice as well
Great museum if you like natural history.
Great fossil collection; this place is educational and a pleasure. On our visit there was also a lecture by a famed celebrity paleontologist. That was a real treat.
Wonderful place to take grandkids and all have fun
Great place to go to learn history of Dinosaurs in Central U.S. and Native American history.
Great museum, interesting classes for school trips, fantastic staff. First rate museum.
It's a mellow museum. My kid really liked it. Lots of fossil to see.
A hidden trearsue for the state of Oklahoma and the local university. The place charts the majority of history for the state including dinosaurs, prehistoric plants, and sharks. You will be surprised at the number of ecosystems found in Oklahoma and the diversity of plants and animals. The museums display of Native American curlers is spectacular. They have one of the definitive collections of Native American tools in the nation. All ages will find this an exciting and highly educational stops.
Went here for the first time with my daughter for there haunt the museum never been here but I loved it and enjoyed myself. My daughter loved every bit of it can't wait to go back.
I always enjoy it here. Super fun and a great dinosaur exhibit. Highly recommend going.
We have a membership here. My kids LOVE visiting and seeing the dinosaurs!
Great for an afternoon with children out of the weather and always educational.
Love going here
Fun and cheap! The discovery room is fantastic for the little ones! My little girl spent hours in there....and it didn't cost a thing to take her in!
Best museum I've been to! The displays are very detailed and thorough. Only had time to get through the ancient life exhibit, took about two hours to get through, but it was the main attraction for me. Awesome dinosaurs on display and interactive pieces everywhere!
A BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION. AMAZING VOLUNTEERS.
Great little museum. It was a medium sized museum large enough to feel like you got your bang for the buck. It offered a lot of different things to see for the kiddos and was not busy so that you feel crowded. Great experience with the family.
The Sam Noble Natural History museum is a Norman treasure. The staff are friendly and helpful, answering any questions you might have about any exhibits. And what exhibits they have! Their collection of prehistoric bones and fossils is absolutely amazing, and the permanent display of the wildlife and geography of Oklahoma is fantastic. They also have a regularly rotating display of non-permanent exhibits that are always awesome. Two recent ones that were incredible were a collection of amazing photographs of moths, and another exhibit all about sharks that featured a huge collection of shark teeth. I take my kids here whenever I can. They can’t get enough of it.
Always come here on Labor Day! Love it!
I had an amazing experience at this fine establishment! I came, I saw, I was in awe. I would recommend bringing the entire family here, as it is fun for everyone. The gift shop is nice, with decent prices. You will be here for hours looking at everything and you will want to come back. Overall, An absolutely amazing experience!
Great exhibits, very interactive. Would recommend to any age group.
My 7 year old grandson LOVED the museum!!
Would have been a good visit and there are some really good things here but couldn't enjoy the exhibits because staff were setting up for some event. They were dragging tables and chairs across the floor, talking, laughing loudly and it echoed throughout the museum. It completely ruined the visit making it impossible to study the displays. Have some consideration to your visitors who are trying to enjoy the museum.
Fun museum for kids. Cafe inside is ok. Say hello to the greeter Barry. He is a wonderful human.
I've been going to this museum since I was a little girl. I've seen it develop and grow over many years and I'm so proud of this museum. I've been to the Museum of Natural History in NYC and whereas this museum isn't as massive, it's still awesome to go to. From dinosaurs to natural Oklahoman plants and animals to American Indians, this museum is great for learning and seeing new things. Lots of interactive exhibits for all ages. They have great events here too for everyone to come and have a blast. They also do birthdays.
Wonderful museum. Fascinating to go through. Lots of friendly volounteers to answer questions and tell you about the exibits. Dinosaur bones are do cool. Some are real and some are casts because although they have the real bones they are too heavy to hang. A femur bone alone if one of them weighs about 800 lbs. Lot of interactive exhibits. Current visiting exhibit of Moths of Oklahoma has some beautiful highly detailed prints. Not a large museum, you can probably go through it in a couple of hours but well worth the visit. Active and retired military get in for free.
Such a great place to go for natural history! If you're in Norman, visit the museum!
This is a great 0lace for the family. We went there when the megalodon exhibit was going. It was very cool but I found myself wishing that exhibit was bigger. The history of Oklahoma was represented very well. The facility was very clean and easy to navigate. Prices are also reasonable.
Wife and I go here on occasion. It's a nice play. Beware of the children though. LOL
Will come back!
Very educational. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Great place to take the family and learn something new!
A most excellent gem in central Oklahoma. World class museum.
A great tike for children and adults!
This is an amazing museum and Roger helped make our walk through very memorable. He is very knowledgeable.
The staff at the museum was very friendly and accommodating and the content of the exhibits was diverse and interesting for people of all ages. The gardens and grounds outside added a nice touch with native plant species and a natural feel to the landscape. I enjoyed my experience at the Sam Noble Museum and would be happy to visit again.
Is nice for younger generations.
If you live close to the museum, the best thing to do is buy a membership. Watch for a membership special, in the past it has been in October, but regardless it is more than reasonable considering the events and rotating exhibit. We go for a couple of hours and love the discovery room, the dinosaurs and all the hands on activities.
Excellent displays and incredible details.
My grandson loved the dinosaur exhibits!
My godson lo ed it..he had a great time..the stsff was very helpful when we needed help..
One of the best museums i have been to. The kods loved it!
Great place to take kids
My kids loved it as a cheaper, more accessible alternative to the Science Museum. Though there is quite a bit less to do comparatively, it's a similar quality of educational entertainment and the whole experience is approachable enough that my kids only started losing interest at the very end. It's perfect!
Sam Noble Museum is a great Museum. They not only have lots of cool things from the past there, but from the present time as well. There are so many things to see throughout the museum. Along with that, they also have cool bits for the kids to look at as well. All of my visits have been very enjoyable and educational at the same time. I really recommend that you visit this museum.
THE museum was amazing! Very educational. I toured it with the WIND'S Organization from WOSC.
An amazing experience for the whole family no matter their age.
We love this museum!! For most families, if you plan on going at least twice in one year, it's worth it to look into the family pass. We live in the Tulsa area and go to the museum any time we're in OKC. Their dinosaur exhibit is AMAZING! My son knows a LOT about dinosaurs and he likes what they have on display, which really says something. We recently visited the natural history museum in Houston and the Sam Noble museum was far better! The visiting exhibits are wonderful as well. The staff is always friendly and everything is always clean. If you're near the area, you should definitely visit this museum!
One of the most interesting musuems in the city! Super educational and a great place for kids and families.
Initially I was worried this museum was on the smaller side and debated driving to the Science Museum Oklahoma. We were staying in Norman and this was the more convenient option. We were not disappointed and spent 2 hours here and were able to see everything we wanted. The dinosaurs were a hit with our family but all the exhibits were interesting and I especially enjoyed how it all tied into Oklahoma. We were not rushed and had enough time to make the drive to tour the Oklahoma City Memorial and Museum in the same day.
Fun for the kid's. Cool dinosaur's exhibits
I like to take dumps there.
Excellent museum with lots of hands on things for the kids. Amazing selection of skeletons and taxidermied animals. Lots of great information and the Native American exhibits are second to none.
This was an incredible museum experience! I have never been to a museum that so highly prioritized hands on education. This was interactive for adults and children. I can't wait to go back!
Cool for family & date night
Educational! Yet if ya really want the truth read the Bible to know how old the earth really is
I HEARD THEY HAVE A DINOSAUR AND A MONSTER SIZED PREHISTORIC GORILLA
Lots of dino bones and filled with remains of prehistoric animals which once roamed the Oklahoma plain's. They also have exhibits of the very large Indian cultures that once lived there and in some areas still have ancestral decendancts still do. This museum is located on the campus of Oklahoma State University. This was an amazing afternoon spent here! They will also give you a guided tour of the museum.
Fantastic dinosaur bones and other fossils, even artifacts from native American people and stuffed American animals.
My kids ages 4 and 2 love this museum. It's close by and we can easily spend hours looking at everything. If you have not been you will not regret it. It's very clean and everything is well displayed. Interactive for the kids and a lot to learn for kids and adults.
This is a pretty small museum, though very interesting. Great place for kids, very hands on. Dinosaurs, and the history of earth and Oklahoma. A time line from the beginning to now. The history of Oklahoma and its plants and animals. Also native American culture and a hands on room for children. They usually have something going on, last time I went they had a photo gallery with up close photos of beautiful moths.
That Place is a Phenomenon. Really the best Place I've ever been to.
Only because I love science. The meg exhibit could have been bigggger. Ha
I cannot sing the praises of this museum enough! As a single parent, it is especially challenging to find good ways for my son and I to spend our free time that 1. Are worth our time, and 2. Fit into the budget. I have consistently had a membership here, and my boy and I love it! The fees are very affordable. The museum itself is really wonderful. Endless educational opportunities, plus they have some great seasonal exhibits and programs. I love that we can bring friends with us on our membership, too. No complaints, we absolutely love the Sam Noble Museum!
One of our favorite spots to experience prehistoric days and replicas of a dinosaur found in our state.
Fantastic museum. The kids loved it. Will definitely be back.
Sam Noble Museum is an outstanding Natural History museum. Exhibits are easy to view and understand and are even appealing to the very young! I saw many 3,4 and 5 year olds wandering through the exhibits with their parents. I intend to go again the next time I am in Norman.
Always enjoy visiting the museum. It's definitely worth checking out if you haven't lately.
Great place for adults and a great place for kids learning center
Great place to take the kids to learn and explore, lots of activities for the kids and staff is very friendly!
You want to make a dinosaur fan happy? Come here. Seeing every aspect of local geology and phylogeny is a joy. My son is always eager to come back.
Very fun and informative. Our ten year old loved it. Dinosaur fossils, what else needs to be said????
Love this place, a museum that kids can run around at and even touch many displays. Went to a birthday party and it was nice, we got some time in the discovery room that seems to be closed every time we go on free kid Mondays, as well as a really lovely guided tour through the dinosaur part. Great escape from the weather while still allowing kids to let of a little steam.
I always love coming here. I love learning about the past, both the dinosaurs and about the history of my ancestors.
Great place for kids and adults to spend a couple hours learning about Oklahoma and natural history! We got the family membership for just $45! My 6yo son loves to come here!
Very nice exhibits. Something for all ages!
Fantastic exhibits, loads of things to see for all
Veterans are free and turned out to a cost-effective trip that the kids enjoyed.
This museum was incredible! The number of excellent exhibits was surprising due to the somewhat small size of the museum. There are multiple fossils arranged as examples for various epochs in time, but one of the most impressive aspects is that most if not all of the creatures displayed were uncovered here in Oklahoma. The museum also has many interactive exhibits which will appeal to children, and there are multiple exhibits involving nature and many of the animals that can be found throughout the state. Aside from these incredible fossils, there is a very large number of Native American artifacts dating back earlier than the arrival of Europeans, including examples of objects such as Clovis points, various stone tools including: hammers, axes, spear points, knives, and arrow heads. Bone tools including fish hooks, awls, drills, gardening implements, and the tools used to make stone tools. There are also many examples of pottery, quartz arrow heads and tools, copper tools and accessories, beads made from various materials including bone, shell fragments, and even freshwater pearls. All of these ancient tools list where they were found in Oklahoma, who was likely responsible for the manufacture and use of these tools, and descriptive information about the difference between the cultures known to have existed in this state long ago. Altogether, the museum is a lovely place. It is particularly great that OU students get free admission, while regular adults only need tob pay $8, which is absolutely worth it. A must visit museum for those who love history, nature, and have an interest in history unique to the State of Oklahoma.
We had a wonderful afternoon at Sam Noble Museum. The kids were 11 and 8. They both found things they loved. The Megalodon exhibit was a favourite. We will be back! Customer service was amazing. My scooter died and they had free wheelchair service. The workers telling us about the exhibits were so friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time. Thank you!
Not much there and so not worth the $22 i paid for my girlfriend and 5 year old..
We rocked this place with the kids upholding a broseph-swaglord demeanor and had copious amounts of cheer!
My husband and I recently used the museum as our wedding venue and we loved it! They allowed us to use the museum's geodes for the centerpieces on our tables! Additionally, they have options to open the exhibits for your wedding guests that are reasonably priced. They were very responsive to all of our inquiries and our guests were very impressed with the space and museum staff. Overall, it was a fantastic venue with wonderful staff and we highly recommend it as a venue for future weddings!
Grey Museum, great volunteer staff that works there, a very fun and learning filled afternoon with the kids makes all the difference to parents and I definitely recommend this Museum. Especially if your kid loves dinosaurs
We went here on a school field trip n had a wonderful time! I "highly recommend" this experience ti everybody!
We came and spent 4 hours here! My children were 3 and 5 and they absolutely loved everything they learned and got to explore! We will definitely be coming back for more learning experiences in the future, reasonably priced and dont forget to check out the gift shop!
I had gotten there at 1 and stayed until 5 when it closed. That was just enough time to get through all of the exhibits and the gift shop. The exhibits are well organized and they have some temporary exhibits that come through as well. This is a great place to take the whole family. There are many hands-on learning opportunities as well.
Great place to take the kids or just yourself. Always have nifty exhibits and hands-on learning.
It's a very unique place rare to see anywhere
Drove down from Stillwater to come to the museum and thought it was wonderful. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The exhibits were very well done. My daughter loved the dinosaurs and I particularly enjoyed the dioramas. The detail was fascinating. There is a small cafe at the entrance as well as a gift shop. No food or drink allowed in the actual museum (which should come as no surprise), so eat in the cafe or before you come. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. I would recommend this museum to anyone.
A very interesting place.
We had so much fun! Exhibits are beautifully put together.
Lots of hands on learning stations for kids
Took two grandkids 4 and 7. They had a ball. They both enjoyed the scavenger hunt.
Kerr Auditorium - inside the Museum. Very cozy. All seats good. 200 people.
You can spend 1-2 hours here, has a few activities for the kids too.
So amazing. Best museum...grandkids loved it. Great price for family
My son and nephews (ages 6 thru 9) love coming here! My son calls it the "dinosaur museum", but it's more than just that. Lots of information to absorb. I especially love the special exhibit room that changes exhibits every so often and my son loves the Discovery Room which is a more hands on experience. If I had any critiques, it would be to make more of the educational information easier to digest, especially for younger audiences. There's a LOT to read throughout the museum. I don't know how the museum could accomplish this, but more visual cues would be great. All in all, though, great place to visit!
I LOVED the Sam Noble museum. I have since grade school. They have one area that they change the theme to. This year was wedding clothes of the native people I believe. My son and wife and sister all love the exhibits. Especially the Natural Wonders exhibit! You get the chance, come out. The giant Apatasaurus is awesome.
Our family lives this museum. We have a family membership. They always have something new to appriciate
There is so much to learn. This is great for all ages. We liked looking for bones in the sand.
What a wonderful place to spend an afternoon for people of all ages! The immersive displays are world class. Everyone in my family had a great time and learned so much. Definitely give yourself three hours to see it all. The cafe is very hit or miss if you plan on eating lunch here, which is my only criticism.
What a fabulous museum! I'm not usually a fan of museums, I usually find them boring, but this was very well done! We saw the Megaladon exhibit because my son is obsessed currently, but it was just fabulous! We saw the whole museum and my 4 year old never lost interest! It's a must see!
I wanted to like this place, but frankly there's something plastic about it. Actually many things plastic. Many dinosaur skeletons seemed fake. After awhile, that's all I was doing: trying to determine what was real or fake. It was a turn off. My photo - the skull only - was real and awesome. But it all felt odd. Why did it have to be that way?
Very cool museum. It was cool to see the relevant history to Oklahoma, especially the native people exhibits
It was ok for my first time going there. Not as big as I thought it'd be. Not enough dinosaurs. It was field trip day and other schools were there as well. They were not keeping their kids under control like my son's teacher did. All in all, my boys and I had fun.
We are members. You should be too. Fun kid events and interesting exhibits. Good place to visit before an OU home game!
I loved all the interactive exhibits. The curators were also very friendly and ready to share their area of expertise
Took my family a few years ago and this place was awesome!! Plently to see, you could spend the whole day there looking at lots of exhibits and to top it off... it's free!! Great family fun for all and donations are welcome. Must see if you're in the area... highly recommend!!
Amazing museum. My kids love it.
This is a great museum with lots a awesome exhibits. There is an area for young kids to get their creativity on!! No all that big, but a nice, not so crowded place to go and spend 2-3 hours with the kiddos. Give it a shot if you are looking for a place to hang out on a Saturday afternoon!!
We used to frequent the Stovall Museum as kids. This is a very nice, very modern upgrade to that one. Nicely designed and very clean. Many interactive sections for kids. Entry fee was very reasonable. Nice discounts with museum membership. The Dino-vator was one of our favourites!
Attended a lecture with a movie. Wonderful full size screen, excellent audio, comfortable seats in the auditorium. Friendly staff.
Excellent museum that feels as good as my favorite in houston Texas
Giant collection of fossils well presented. Some exhibits on climate change are a bit inaccurate per Oklahoma political leanings, but most people won't notice
Well thought-out Museum based on Epoch periods. Each Epoch Display provides detailed informative guides. Shark exhibit was informative for all ages. Native Oklahoma exhibit well thought-out.
My family absolutely loved this museum, it was definitely more to see than we expected! The people here were friendly and helpful. The displays were kid friendly and gave plenty of opportunities for interactive education. I think my wife and I learned and enjoyed ourselves just as much as the kids did.
