Beautiful building

Jim Remley

Traditional building, lots of lawn and a couple of oil wells in the lawn.

It was under construction, so all the art was put away. Nice tour guide though and lots to learn. I am sure it will be marvelous when they are done with the restoration. The dome that was added in 2002 is beautiful. Parking is free, which is a plus.

One of the nicer state capitol buildings I have seen. Spacious hallways, beautiful rooms, and great tours. They probably should add tours or have brochures in more languages because of the Route 66 tourism- I saw some German tourists disappointed that there was no information in German.

Kathleen Weiner

Building was under construction so couldn't see it all. Front area wasn't the nicest. There was an old oil tower right in the middle of the front view which kind of blocked it and didn't look nice. Also big parking lots out for Senate etc....instead of park/grass/landscaping like many other Capitola have. Inside was nice. Cool dome and replica statue of dome topper.

Awakening The Dawn!! Praise Jesus!!!

It could be such a beautiful place if it was cared for more. Much larger than it appears from 235 and actually pretty easy to get in and out despite the construction.

Oklahoma could make their capital building so much more impressive if they removed all that empty space and parking around the building. Check out Philadelphia’s city hall and tell me that building would look better sitting in the middle of a parking lot. The building should have a road going around the building and have businesses and high rises directly across the street, just like in philly. They could build underground commuter and rapid transit leading straight out and through the city. Oklahoma could really remake itself into a leading global city if only they started with the capital. Can you imagine what I’m saying?

Gabriel Hockett

I have worked on the renovation of the building for the better part of a year. The support staff is great, and Gouverneur Stitt is awesome.

Beautiful rotunda with nice paintings and great lighting. The place is being renovated currently and for the next 4 years, according to our tour guide. The House and Senate chambers are fairly plain.

One of the more interesting buildings in OKC, but it seems to have been forgotten by most people. Take a chance to just go walk around now before the entire building is restored. Should be an amazing transformation after the extensive restoration is complete.

I enjoy seeing the history and being a part of it. It's such a beautiful place!

Free self guided tour, building under renovation so s lot of art and exhibits in storage.

I will be honest I was underwhelmed by the building. The interior is desolate and suspiciously quiet. It was honestly unsettling. Worth to see and visit however even if for novelty factor.

Bungheng Taing

Nice architecture and sculpture

Josh E.

While there are better capitals throughout the US, this one is still pretty nice. Worth stopping by if you're in OKC.

Brian Byrne

Turns out a lot of the people who work here are pretty awful. Most of the awful people don't show up for work very often though, so at least there's that.

Brian Barton

Candee Brossman

Lots of renovations were going on while we were there. It was our first time so we didn't know what was new or old. We toured the chamber with our district's senator and sat in on a session. I reccomend it if you visit when session is available!

Robert Bailey

We went on a Saturday evening just to see The Ten Commandments Monument and we met our objective. It's a wonderful thing to see. I can't believe the courts are trying to have this monument torn down. Besides the monument, the capital is also with seeing from the outside. No interest in a tour though.

Abel JRC

Wish it was open

Last time I visited it it was crumbling in places but from what I'm told they are fixing it up hope so this historic landmark needs to be saved

Jonathan Scott

Pretty place with great architecture and art. Definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, nearly every politician who works in this building needs to be absolutely fired and banned from future public service.

Steven Dennis

Pretty place for photos at night. The tunnel from the parking lot on the east side has interesting murals in it

Charlie Miller

Nice place to visit. It was under construction so we missed out on seeing most of the art work usually on display. It was nice being able to do the self guided tour.
