Here you will see the feddbacks of people like you who know the products of Muskogee War Memorial Park: Home of the USS Batfish (Tourist Attraction) near Oklahoma.
At the moment this business receives a score of 4.8 over 5 and that rating has been based on 444 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is practically the best one, and it is founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may think that the rating is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Tourist Attraction is classified in the category of Park.
What a cool thing to have this in our city!!
We had so much fun, can't wait to go back next weekend.
I really enjoyed this museum. I wasn't sure what to expect of a decommissioned sub in the middle of Oklahoma, and was really pleasantly surprised. The main room when you enter has military history items and info dating from the Civil War to present. The next room has stuff related to submarines in general and the Batfish specifically. Then you go outside and there is a terrific memorial to all the subs lost during WWII. there are some ship-based guns, mines, etc. The highlight for me outside is the mast support of the USS Oklahoma, sunk during the Pearl Harbor attack. Then you go on to the submarine. There are numerous videos which really help you gain a better understanding of life on the submarine, how it functioned, etc. Don't miss the opportunity to "launch a torpedo" just after you enter. The gentleman who was working here was friendly and well-informed. This was the highlight of my time in Tulsa. This really is an attraction not to be missed.
Somebody is working outside very hard and it shows.
Interesting and informative. Kids loved being inside of an actual submarine and seeing all the war memorabilia.
So much wonderful history to learn about.
An amazing piece of history and a nice memorial to the lost submarine fleet of WWII.
Enjoyed this visit at Muskogee War Memorial Park and visiting with Brent. They are coming along quite well in putting the park back together after the devastating flood. It will still take some time to get the Baitfish back to a level so visitors can go through it. I encourage everyone to take the time to visit and support the Museum. There is a lot of History here, so It's a great place to learn about the lives of the service men that fought to protect our country.
I took my son and his friend to check it out and they loved it! A lot of the guns and things are hands on.
Sadly we visited just after the flooding had wreaked havoc. Still a great visit and loved the history portion
Remembering the fallen. Toured the week of opening, way back when they moved it to Muskogee: The only submarine in Oklahoma
I've been to the Muskogee War Memorial Park many times. The recent flooding has damaged the park's main attraction, the U.S.S. Batfish. It's still an amazing park to tour, you just cannot board the vessel right now. I'd highly recommend stopping in a for sure supporting our local Veterans Memorial Park, especially in this time of need.
Went here as a kid and man have things improved. This is something very cool to see if your near here. A real sub is something you dont see every day nor get to walk through. You can even spend the night if you coordinate it. Really cool!
Wonderful place to see and touch that era of our history. Friendly staff and amazing exhibits.
We enjoyed our trip to the USS Batfish very much. My wife and daughters really found the museum and history interesting while my son and I loved going through the submarine.
A great museum to visit to get some good Oklahoma history. Friendly staff & cheap price to tour the Batfish. It's a really cool experience to walk through a war Submarine. There's videos inside that explains different quarters was for.
Good place to visit they are very knowledgeable good people there
Educational part of U.S. History
A very well maintained memorial. The Bat Fish submarine is a great way to see what it was like serving on a submarine during WW2. You get to tour the sub at your own pace. Found it very interesting.
It was very interesting to tour the submarine. Especially with a former submariner giving me a personal tour.
This place is super! The kids and all veterans will find it fascinating. I toured the submarine and was amazed at the amount of control valves that men had to have knowledge of to win the war! America
Outstanding memorial for World Word II submarines and USS Batfish exhibit and artifacts.
Great experience. Informative fun and sobering. Only downside was a young teen girl that was having issues with the heat and short changed us on her part topside. Lots of stuff to see outside so the Oklahoma heat can be an issue for some.
Good job. Get that 1.5 mil!
I love these historical museums. Excellent history and great staff. Also has an Amateur Radio club with callsign of WW2SUB.
Was a great place very informative and the kids actually enjoyed it
One of my favorite family adventures yet! My kids loved climbing on all of the machinery outside, and it was so much fun going through the submarine! There is a lot of climbing (stairs, narrow doorways, etc) so it is not handicapped accessible. The grounds are well-maintained and the opportunity to learn a little piece of history is priceless. There are restrooms in the building, and a cute little gift shop.
A great treasure of Oklahoma! Rich in history & honoring Veterans!
Nice self guided tour. Very informitive plaques with the military equipment
A great place to visit & take self guided tour of WWII submarine. You will walk away with a feeling of awe and admiration of the submarine crews during the war.
A great WWII museum in Muskogee. The USS Batfish is preserved on the grounds and open to tour with interactive exhibits including a cool display simulating how torpedoes fire. You can arrange to stay the night on the submarine. The museum is an American Legion museum, so they have some great uniforms and artifacts displayed from various wars and a memorial to submarines sunk in WWII. If you’re looking for an afternoon activity for the family, this is a great educational stop with knobs and levers to pull, wheels to crank, bunks to lay in and torpedoes and guns to climb on.
You can't go in the sub right now.
Great park! Outstanding conservation effort.
Definitely worth a trip! We didn't get to go on the submarine because the area was ravaged by flood waters. They still have repairs to do before it is open, BUT...you can still walk around and learn some war history.
Real piece of American history . Everyone should visit young especially to understand and appreciate the men and women who fought for our freedom.
This was really cool to go through a real sub! Wow, worth the stop!
Its was great navy museum with a wide variety of history and historic items on display. But due to flood damage we could not enter the sub. Hope to come back soon to see inside.
This museum, memorial, and the USS Batfish are a must see when visiting or passing through Muskogee. The docent, Carl, was very cordial and knowledgeable!
Great living history , especially for kids , keep it going!!! Great job securing it in the flooding . Great job, wonderful submarine experience as a museum!!!
Amazing place to see and the walk thru was so touching!
Great place to take the kids .
Very interesting and a great place to have some understanding of what happened during the war II
What a great piece of history!
Even though the Batfish wasn't accessable due to her moving in the flood waters earlier this year, the museum itself is still a great place to look at some unusual artifacts, roam around the outdoor exhibits, and chat with the wonderful people who work there.
Enjoyed my time here, a lot of history. Will go back an board the Batfish when they get it back level. Recommend this Memorial Park to everyone.
Looks like a really interesting place to visit. Unfortunately they were closed on Monday afternoon when I stopped in but I shall return! LOL.
Closed due to flooding that occurred some time in May 2019. One of the locals said that the Batfish was floating and has been damaged. After a few weeks the website was updated to show the closed status.
Was free due to flood damage. Will return when Batfish part reopens.
I just want to give a special shout out to my fellow 11B comrade. You made my visit especially awesome today and it’s times like this that make me proud to be an Okie, an American, and to have served this country. What an awesome memorial.
Very cool to explore a real sub. Humble memorial.
One of the most awesome places to visit. They have done a masterful job on the ship. Also the history of the ship as well and the fact you can go inside it that much better. Even if you struggle with tight spaces like I do it is worth it. The museum is very nice too. Also they have a awesome gift shop for all price ranges. I would highly recommend a submarine pen...... they rock!
Very interesting to see how our WW2 sailors lived in a submarine. Kids will love the tour.
It was really fun and a great learning place... My family and I had alot of fun
Amazing place to visit! Talk to the guys in the small museum and absolutely tour INSIDE the submarine. Cool historical experience for the entire family.
There is a WW2 Submarine parked in Oklahoma! That alone would be enough, but there are a lot of other displays and memorials to view. Very respectful place to visit, I will be back.
Came here a couple times as a kid and loved it so I had to bring my kids here too. So much fun crawling through the sun and the rest of the memorial is very well done. Well worth the low admission price.
Worth the stop for this rare bit of history you won’t find in most places – especially so far from the ocean! Touring inside of a World War II submarine is a rare jewel and is well documented with video explanation as you walk thru . The visitor center is full of mementos and artifacts from previous wars as well and the memory walk of those still “ on patrol” is a touching tribute. The mast of the battleship Oklahoma that was destroyed at Pearl Harbor is also on the property and is interesting to view. Worth every bit of the time and the small admission price!
Awesome museum! Getting to walk inside and explore the U.S.S. Batfish submarine is a truly awe inspiring experience.
We had an absolutely wonderful time. Although slightly difficult it was possible for me to go through the submarine by myself with 4 small children. I know that's something that those of us with multiple small children wonder about. We will be back.
Sad it got obliterated by flooding. Great staff and history!
Original submarine sits in the countryside and is available for tour before 4:30. Nice small memorial site next to it. Well kept.
Highly recommended.
What a great museum! This non-profit memorial is a testament to it's volunteers efforts to make it a nice visit. A bit out of the way, no one should miss the opportunity to see this unique WW2 memorial - besides, it's a submarines in the middle of Oklahoma!
A hidden gem in Muskogee. So much history to see and experience here. Need more signs showing exact location.
Really neat place. The boys, 11 and 14, loved it. We spent the night in the submarine. Kyle, our private tour guide, was very informative and friendly. The WWII cooking demonstration was also really cool. It is a submarine, though, and you have to be careful in there.
We love the history and those who work there
Last time i went it was like 19 yrs ago n i had tp run to nearest exit. Claustrophobic got to me n had to get out. This time i made it all the way through
Absolutely loved it! Miss going with my grandpa as a kid. Didn't get to go inside but just seeing it was great
We enjoyed taking our toddlers to climb through a real submarine in the middle of Oklahoma.
If you go, try to go on living history days, navy reinactors will be on hand while touring the sub! Watch the cooks prepare a real meal for the staff! Really super cool! Highly recommended!!!
It's really great to come see the submarine. And how the crew lived inside. Bring the kids. Tons of fun.
It was a really educational experience touring the submarine. My kids had a great time. Walking through the memorial of all the submarines that didn't come back was really touching. It helped my kids understand the sacrifice of our military.
It was very fun. I loved reading about everything. My favorite part was the U.S.S Batfish!
If you have some extra time, it is a well worth park to stop and visit.
It's pretty neat however closed because flooding
A must see one of a kind WW2 museum.
This is a great memorial to honor the military and those that served in the silent service. I recommend any one in the area or passing through to stop and check it out.
It's apart of our great history!!! Our fathers and grandfathers who served, could tell us all some great and true stories!!! Both amazing and horrifying!!! The Batfish Navy Memorial in Muskogee, Ok is a great place to take the family. Take the time to teach your children. We go there 4 times a year.
A hidden gem in Muskogee! I never expected to find an actual submarine in Muskogee, OK. The museum itself is quite small and you are able to see if all in 10 minutes. The real treat is the Bat Fish. Stepping inside of the submarine gives you a true appreciation for what some of of service men and women endure for our country. The submarine is very well taken care of and I couldn't believe how small the interior is I'm 6'2" and couldn't imagine having to live on one of these! Definitely worth the trip to see and experience at least once.
Great place to reflect on military history.
A beautiful tribute! A must see for the whole family!
Great experience aboard a historic WWII warship. Very interesting history of battle engagement and storied victories. Including the record for the highest number of enemy submarines destroyed by an American submarine in battle.
This war memorial is so worth seeing you can walk all through it. It let's you imagine what it v was like to serve your country in a submarine my whole family was fascinated. You better be in good shape if you tour the sub tho lots of climbing b and tight places.
I was fortunate enough to stay on board the USS Batfish for a few days & learned so much about the heritage of this highly decorated war machine. The staff & curators are very friendly and knowledgeable & the museum is well maintained.
Everyone needs to visit this museum (and make a donation.) I want to see it grow and add more naval history to the grounds. Perhaps the Oklahoma? Hmmmm?
Took all the kids when they were small went through the batfish good family outing and doesn't cost a arm and a leg
We could see the sub from our jobsite. Apparently its closed because of the floods.
MUST VISIT! The staff is friendly & it's a super great learning opportunity!! If you have a chance PLEASE take time to visit! (ALSO, Ask the guy about the time the sub ran away from them!)
