Justin Smith, the gentleman at the Museum was a walking encylopedia! Incredible historian....we spent almost 3 hours discussing the local history of the Cherokee Nation.

A school building restored with some neat artifacts found during restoration and a great overview of the history of John Ross, but Justin was there to answer questions and I have never been so impressed by the depth of knowledge he has of not just his own Cherokee heritage and culture, but that of all 5 of the civilized tribes. The wife and I listened intently to every detail and actually learned more here than at any other museum I have ever been to. He managed to give a good run down of some history that kept us focused and entertained. Highly recommend a visit, and when Justin says, "Do you have any questions?" Don't pass up the opportunity to ask them and be amazed by his answers.

It was an amazing museum. Lots of interesting facts, and Justin, the guy that works there, stayed an hour over closing time telling my sister and I stories of the old days of the Council, the Treaties, John Ross family history. He was so knowledgeable and I was so appreciative that he would do that. It was a great day!

We visited this museum today and found it very interesting. The guide, Justin, and his assistant, Ty, spent a great deal of time going over the exhibits and teaching us about Cherokee history and culture. Justin was very knowledgeable. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and learned a great deal. A great experience and would recommend a stop here.
