I enjoyed every part of. Especially the area about the guns that the outlaws used.
Every gun/firearm type imaginable is in this museum. The original "Red Rider" Daisy b-b gun is here as well as gangster "Tommy Guns". First class firearms were crafted for the rich with amazing artistry such as gold, silver and jewels; this museum has thousands of these deadly treasures as well as some interesting musical instruments and other odds and ends. I have been several times and always feel there is more to see.
Worth the drive. Very well maintained. Plan on at least 2 hours. Mary
There is so much to see. We can't wait to go back!
Very interesting collection of weapons, saddles, steins and different memorabilia. Extensive gun collection. A must visit if u go to Claremore. Donation entry.
Great place especially if you have time to look at the displays!
The best gun museum. Been here several times over the years , brought my 13 year old grandson here and he was really excited. He is a hunter and really enjoyed the different guns. And loved the small handguns.
They say that quality exceeds expectations. If that's true, this museum is quality times 100. I never imagined such a large collection, so well preserved, so well organized, so well identified, and so creatively displayed. You can cruise the aisles, like I did, and see most of the groups. Or you can plan the hours needed to examine a majority of the groups. If I get to go again, I'll first select a few categories and see in detail the displays that most interest me. Combining the firearms AND the non-firearm artifacts, I'm estimating the museum contents approach 15,000 individual items! I'm guessing the glass covered displays require thousands of square feet of polished glass. Don't let the size of the one city block wide building fool you. It's Big.
Full of amazing military history. It is a must see
Awseome place to get a first hand, up close look at the history of weaponry. Go, take the kids, you'll be amazed
Amazing place, so full of firearms history.
Quite a experience. Fantastic collection of firearms and history. Gotta visit and experience for yourself .
I really enjoyed this Museum. It houses over 20,000 firearms and firearm related items and contains guns from all around the world including Kentucky rifles, a Gatling gun, black-powder guns of all types, cannons, rare Colts, Winchesters, elephant, whaling, and outlaw guns. Besides firearms, the collection contains 1,200 German beer steins.
WOW there was a ton to see here!
Impossibly large weapons collection, but presented in a very sterile fashion. Will be boring for kids.
Awesome collection. Too much to see in one day if you love guns.
Cool historical things!!! Loove the old guns and noose!
An amazing collection of weapons!
This place is interesting. More than just a gun museum. Well worth the visit even for those who are not gun fans.
Really awesome Musuem at must see when traveling thru Claremore. Lots of wonderful history here.
Awesome place! A gun enthusiasts dream! Hope all these guns can be preserved for many future generations!
Largest private collection in the world
Great place to history of guns. They also love a donation to help with maintaining the collection and collecting more history.
Very Nice collection
Loved the place friendly staff
This museum is awesome with tons of weapons. To view from alot of different time periods
By far the best arm collection. I gave it a solid 2 hours and felt as if I barely scratched the surface. I loved the guns through the eras route. Starts from the stone age weapons all the way to recent conflicts. What a trip through history! I will definitely make a return trip or seven!
14000 guns. Got tired of looking at guns. Good for gun collector.
Great place to visit!
Never have I ever seen this many guns in one place. Very interesting lived it
It's was a good feeling to have people that care. Not look down on u. Thank u all for helping us.
It was a very nice place. It holds a lot of American history.my boys had a great time walking through looking at all the displays and reading about history. Staff is very friendly and informative.
Really cool gun collection. Even has a small toy gun area. It would be nice to see them make some more interactive improvements but you can't argue with free which is what it costs now.
I was very surprise when arriving to the place. When walked in the lady was very nice and gave us some instructions. We started our tour and was very surprised on how many guns there are. Many rifle handguns and collectibles. Very clean and presentable. Would definetly like to come back if in Oklahoma again.
My husband was in heaven. We spent at least half a day here... This is a Must stop on Route 66
It is a great place to look at old guns
More then just guns.History
This is not a super modern museum, but I did enjoy it a lot. The key thing to note is that, although there are lots of guns, there are other things to see. Entry is free. There is a suggested donation of $5 per adult. I think it would be easy to spend 2 or more hours there. Closed on Sunday and Monday. There is a toy gun display in the back.
The best gun museaum around. Free to enter and they allow service dogs which was great since i went with my sister. I can spend all day here.
Great place can easily kill a whole day there and its donation only
Gun enthusiast & the majority of displays are described accurately.
This museum is incredible and a must see attraction when passing through Claremore. I can't believe how massive this collection is and that he was able to collect all of these pre internet.
My son loves guns and is head over heels with this incredible museum. Beautifully displayed and wall labelled, this is a must see for the gun enthusiast.
Absolutely astounding collection of guns, housed in a building straight out of the late 60's. Mr Davis was clearly a compulsive collector, as there are also collections of beer steins, clocks, knives, murder weapons, you name it! Well worth a visit!
Such a massive collection of weapons and a tank that the kids climb on..not sure if you are supposed to.
I am no stranger to weaponry and the instant I set foot in this place I was awestruck! The breadth and depth of the collection took away my breath and filled me with a reverence for historical value of this Magnificent collection. The care given to each item and its labeling and its reference to its place in history showed a care and attention to detail worthy of any private specialty Museum on this planet. I did not set aside enough time for this stop on my journey ! Give yourself a whole day.
This museum have a great variety of attractions, i really like this place.
Nice place to see
It's free to go ( donations accepted.) I have gone here since I was a young girl. I tried explaining to my husband just how many guns are there but it never does it justice until you see how many guns there are! I love all the historic weapons and the outlaw guns. My kids really enjoy seeing all of them as well. Would recommend a visit if you're a gun enthusiast and even if you are not, the history is a big draw.
This is the place to go see guns of ever era and they have added new areas where it shows how to make a gun shows town history you could spend hours just looking and reading bout guns and the history fun place to bring out of town guest
Fantastic place for gun lovers. Guns from around the world. Also had crossbows and the world's largest and smallest gun.
Very interesting. Take your time. Lots to see.
Really interesting Museum that is totally free. They do accept donations and I gladly donated. Really awesome if you like guns and history.
A great collect of old history in Gun!!!
I loved it, it was a fun experience also my name was Brandon on the list so tell me if you guys rember me
Took my 12 year old to the Museum, the collection of historical weapons is overwhelming. Don't go if you are expecting any thing produced in the last 10 years. However, if you appreciate historical small arms weaponry, this is the place for you.
Wow wow wow. If you have even the slightest inclination towards guns this is the place to go. Almost 14,000 guns from a personal collection. Lots of other stuff as well.
Wow! Really cool.
This museum has the largest collection of guns I've ever seen. And it’s free to get in. You can’t beat free! They have so many guns they have to rotate pieces through. A definitely stop! Largest private gun collection in the world. They don’t just have guns. They have a lot of history in here. This museum has the largest collection of guns I've ever seen.
Simply amazing variety of guns. Don't miss the criminal exhibits in the front.
So many guns! It will take you all day to see everything. Many other items of historical significance.
Plan to spend time here. More guns and weapons than I've seen anywhere. What a collection. You can spend literally hours looking
Think it could have more to it... Like the a history of each weapon and where it originated.... Would bring more people. Needs more attractiveness
Outstanding in every way. Staff is very helpful. Prepare to stay awhile as there's a lot to see and explore. Something here for everyone. Loved it .
There is a vast history here. The gun collection is phenomenal. Well worth the visit. Definitely recommend visiting it.
Do you like guns? Then this is your dream or your Nightmare being the fact you want to take it all home XD so many cool and unique guns and a bloody tank lads!
Very awsome so many diffrent types of guns
If you've never been here. It's a must see stop in Claremore Oklahoma. I was privilage to see it several times when it was in the old hotel it was once housed in. You simply must stop here and see this. It will take you several hours but oh so worth it.
Great place to go! Donations accepted but not mandatory.
Fantastic place to go. What an asset to Claremore.
Handicapped Veterans beware! My husband had seen the Davis Museum about 8 years ago and he was so impressed that he wanted to see it again during our trip down South last week. We drove two hours out of our way to get there and he was denied entrance with his mobility scooter. They offered the use of a wheelchair they had for visitors. Unfortunately, he can't get around in a wheelchair, and I can't push him. We turned around and left. The museum has a long list of prohibited items posted on the door. I wish I had snapped a picture of it, but we were pretty angry at the time. I do remember that it included WALKERS (really!), and roller blades (OK), and it might have included strollers. So if you've got a disability or small children you better call ahead because their website does not post any of the restrictions.
Impressed
We saw guns from all over the world. There's a suggested donation. I think it is reasonable. Nice clean bathrooms. Handicap accessible. They have a gift shop.
Gun museum was fantastic kids learned ALOT we loved it
Wonderful collection of firearms, but the map provided upon entry is unreadable, and there is no rhyme nor reason to the layout to even ensure that you’ve seen all there is to see. A good map and a division of the gallery into marked sections/rows would help immensely. Or a line on the floor that outlines a pre-determined path to follow would be a great help. Still not sure I saw everything there was to see because it was all so confusing.
I Just Love Talking With The Door Greeter...I've Enjoyed Everytime I've Gone,Even Learned Some Stuff...
On a road trip, I budgeted 2.5 hours for this stop, and was just barely able to walk through all the rows. Definitely should have had more time to be able to truly appreciate and enjoy all of what the museum had to offer. Lots of very rare and unusual firearms and even a few pieces made as one offs by gunsmiths.
Real nice, I love history, fancy guns, nice.
I went there when I was a kid took my kids there and that's taking the grandkids to it's one of the best places you can take your kids and family too and enjoy all the guns and arms from around the world
Great place to visit. A must see to see some good history and town jewels
Gun lovers can find everything and everything.
What ever you do, prepare to spend 4 hours at a minimum here. If you like/love firearms and history, it could be an all day outing! I stopped in on my travels expecting to breeze through it right before it closed. How wrong I was. This museum is amazing, and the displays and sheer number of firearms is bordering on overwhelming! (Note: I am not being hyperbolic.) I look forward to spending an entire day exploring this hidden gem!
Great history on guns
Nice clean place and a lot of history, not all of it is just about guns. Interesting place to visit.
I had accidentaly stumbled on didplay when i was a little girl don't remember why. So years later with my children with me we hunted it up. I am not a gun person but am a history buff. For me this is a must stop. It is first rate, totaly interesting. And i recommend this to any family that loves history or guns.
By far the largest arms museum I've ever been too!
This is a great place to view difference in guns a fun place to see
Wonderful museum with amazing history of firearms. We have visit twice and I don't believe I've seen it all. If you're a history buff you'll thoroughly enjoy this.
If you are gun collector or just appreciate them this is one stop you will want to put on your list. This is the largest private collection you will probably ever see. we were there for 2 hours and didn't see half of it.
AWESOME EXPERIENCE. EVERYONE SHOULD GO AT LEAST ONCE. DONATION BASED AS WELL.
Huge display. Very interesting.
If you love guns ,you will love this collection!
Fantastic history of weapons
An incredible short and long arms collection, with a mish mash of other things which will interest the non-arms crowd. Bring your Wiki and Google, as the collection is catalogued only, with no history or background.
Wayne McCo.bs has really done an amazing job getting this museum into tip top shape. Gr8 gun collection, very nice staff. A gr8 place to roam through and see Mr Davis' collection. You will enjoy this building and its staff. Go through it, well worth your time!!!
This APP seems to think I was at the J. M. David gun museum today. I may have DRIVEN BY but have not been there for several years. So much for modern, misleading social media bullony!
Free but donations are welcome it took us roughly 4 hours to rush through you could easily spend 2 days just looking
Absolutely amazing private collection of over 14,000 guns and other artifacts. Plan on at least a couple if hours to fully take in the museum.
Great museum to learn history of firearms and more
An awesome collection of guns, military equipment as well as many othr items. Very friendly and entrance is free. They will accept donations so help support the museum!
This is a must stop for firearms enthusiasts. Love this place!
Great history for the rifle or pistol lover. Gun enthusiasts must see this place.
Awesome place! Thousands of historical firearms not to mention other historical artifacts. Mr. Davis was quite a collector and had a heart of gold.
Great place to go. Check out artillery and old weapons, some belonging to actual legendary figures from old days. I recommend everyone to go at least once in your lifetime.
We visited the museum when my dad was visiting from Corpus Christi. We knew they would be a lot of fun but we're pleasantly surprised with the other exhibits and items for viewing. Took my kids, 7 and 10 and they enjoyed it too.
Amazing collection.
Awesome place to see! Huge. Couldn't see everything in one visit. Hope to return one day soon.
An amazingly large collection that spans the ages!!!
I've been here only handful of times and still havent seen everything they have to offer! I love hangin out all day at this place walkin around and looking at all the history this place offers! They also have different displays that are there for limited times. Last time i went i think they had few of Annie Oakleys guns. If you live in Claremore you owe it to yourself to go and make a day of it. Even if your from out of town you gotta make a day of it!
Awesome stop
This is an amazing collection of firearms, including our wars from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, both World Wars, Vietnam and Desert Storm... Included are swords, all types of war memorabilia, historical rifle exhibits, pistol exhibits, famous bandit guns from Jesse James, Pancho Villa, Cole Younger, and more. Over 14,000 guns, civil war cannon, nooses, saddles, statues, antiques... Don't miss it!
Gotta take a look in here!
Lots guns and artifacts. Well displayed.
A great place to pass time in Claremore.
Fantastic experience! A must see for all gun enthusiasts!
Amazing amount of weapons and detail here
It was the best thing everl. They have over 50,000 items to look at. Definitely will come again.
Clear you day if you're gonna come here. ' Cause this place is enormous and it has a whole lot of stuff and guns to see. It will take you hours to see it all. I rushed thru so I could get tons of photos to share. I will have to make a return visit to soak up the vast amount of historic knowledge this place offers. I met a really nice Lady .Pat who has worked there for 29 years. She is super sweet and super knowledgeable. She is 89 and offers up a kindness and sweetness that is next to none. Thank you Pat for our visit and great conversation. This place is well worth the visit and the small donation that keeps this place running and well cared for. This place doesn't dissapoint. So make a day of it and come see ever kind of gun there is here . Take a picture for a memory to have with the real actual tank out front. I did.
Take a flashlight , some of the display not well lit. Huge collection, suggested donation really felt like admission price. Read the stipulation of turning collection over to state, iirc was to be free admit forever. I think only two employees there, at entry and gift store. No docent that I could determine.
Unbelievable how many guns a single person could possibly own! A nice free museum on Route 66. You could spend days here. They have some really good free pocket guides available too which help point out some hidden gems on Route 66
Really enjoyed this museum. Weapons from different ereas and parts of the world
Great museum with a ton of firearms. Highly recommend it for any firearm enthusiast.
Just an incredible collection of real and REAL antique firearms. This place has them from every era of history, up to and including the modern day. Admission is NOT expensive, and it is well worth a half or full day.
Not all exibits were open. Lights in the handicapped bathrooms didn't work and my mom was in a wheelchair so my daughter and I had to help her into one of the regular restrooms, help down to stool and then back up.
Very friendly people and alot of stuff to look at me and hubby had a good time going and will have to go again
So much to see! We spent 3 hours inside and could easily have stayed longer. A must see for gun or history lovers. Nicely organized and lots of information about all the items. I especially enjoyed the Law and Order memorabilia. Seating available in the back if you need a break or are waiting for others. Our daughter enjoyed the train set, the children's table with books and the horse and buggy. Free admission. Gift shop items available also. The map is especially helpful when looking for favorites.
Plan on spending some time, 4 hours didn't get us through the whole thing
Impressive display. Super nice folks too!
My Husband and I have been here twice and loved it both times. If really want to see and admire this Muesum you need two day. There are guns, swords, knives, and menu other articles to see and read. Covers all wars concerning this country. Be sure and leave a nice donation well worth it.
Amazing collection of historical pieces. Far beyond just guns and artillery. A great place for a hot summer afternoon.
I really enjoyed the visit. As other reviewers point out, it's much more than just guns. The breadth of the collection staggered my mind. There is so much more to learn; I hope they add more information in the displays. I'll be back.
Nice place to visit, once
I had called and made an appointment with the curator to help me get more information on a gun that a family member came upon. I got there early and the sweet ladies working told me he had gone to lunch. I waited for over an hour after the set appointment for him to come back and he never did. Was not very happy because I am staying 45+ minutes away and wasted my afternoon waiting.
Arms and misc history from Japan to the James gang... very impressed
Was really nice. Likes the lay out needs more lighting some of the cases were hard to see in had to use the fash ligh on my phone afew times.
Really neat place. Basically a bucket list place if you are into guns at all. The history of firearms from way back is well represented. Plan on a few hours here
It's definitely got something for everyone, even if you aren't really into guns. People are friendly, it's super clean, it's an interesting time.
Great for avid gun collectors, and for historical buffs....loved this place! The staff was great as well.
Fun place. Lots to see. It's not just for gun enthusiasts. Plenty of history if you take the time to look. Recommended.
I enjoyed the museum my only regret is not I did not allow enough time to see all of it so we will be returning if you enjoy armorment I really highly recommend visiting
Each time I visit I take a different route through the dozens of aisles, and each time I have to call it quits after just a couple of hours, as it is just too much to take in. It is inconceivable (yes I know what that word means) an individual such as Mr Davis could have amassed a private collection of over 14,000 firearms. My hats off in his memory and for the legacy he left the within the city of Claremore, OK of his fantastic museum.
Awesome must see attraction so cool!
Highly recommend make sure you have more than 30 minutes! So many neat things to see!
Great place to look at an amazing collection of history and arms. I never imagined so many interesting things were inside to look at and arranged in such a way that it makes sense and you can enjoy. Great place to go for a cheap family venture. No admission, they just ask for a donation.
Love all the guns they have. Antiques to new
Wow, more guns and rifles, all sorts of arms. Best ever
Great for all ages. Like walking back in history.
This is a awesome place to check out. Seemed like there were miles of weapons!
