Phillip Wilkinson

Can't rate these folks high enough. They treated my disabled wife with upmost kindness, I will never forget it. Beautiful history museum and very informative. Go and soak it all in, these folks have a sweet soul.

Sarah Bailey-Price

This place is awesome! Great for a family day trip. There are interactive exhibits and indoor and outdoor activities. Definitely worth the drive.

Rebecca Riggs

We stopped here on a whim while driving up through Oklahoma. It is a fascinating and beautiful place. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to guide us to other sights in the area as well. Make sure you plan to spend at least a couple of hours here!

Madonna Moore

We really enjoyed it. Unbelievable that it's actually free. Lots of things to learn her whole family loved it definitely give a day to this especially if you want to go down the road to Veterans Lake or Turner Falls.

Pamela Roberts

Nice place to stop by on roadtrip, educational for kid's. Very clean restrooms and nice little gift shop but some of staff are friendly and welcoming while a few weren't. But worth the stop

Ashlynn Rose

This is a wonderful place to visit. If you make it in the morning go straight to the butterfly garden before they flutter away. I like to do the outside part either early or late when it is cooler and save the indoor museum for the heat of the day. Don't miss out on feeding the fish it's worth it.

dgodsgirle

Great learning experience and beautiful center. We will visit again.

Dannie Metzger

Want to know more about Cherokee life before and after The Trail of Tears? Make this a must see! Authentic replicas of houses they lived in and demonstrations of tool making used for survival along with games played by all. Most interesting was finding out they would build a Summer house and a Winter house, and each house could be built in only 5 days using materials found around the building site. I was brought to tears going through the History Center where you travel with the Cherokee from the time they are forced to leave their homes and marched to their settlement in Oklahoma.

Timothy Athey

Pretty neat place. The outdoor "village" was neat to walk through and see what they lived in.

Jack Hawley

Great place very friendly people....

TheGrandOdyssey

Great place to learn about chickasaw culture, On good sunny days it's fun to run around in the village they jave good food and overall this is a great spot to spend a day.

Becky Nichter

Employees are nice and helpful. Lots of things to look at. Definitely a place I would visit again.

Mona Standifer

It's my stress free place. LOVE it

J AH

Very nice facility. The story teller was very informative while still entertaining the widely age-ranged audience. There were many family-oriented activities available and the theater was showing Stewart Little (staring Hugh Laurie and Gena Davis). My son enjoyed feeding the fish and turtles in the pond. The many modern style water features on the property are nicely incorporated into the campus and lend to a classy yet relaxing atmosphere. The parking is free and there is plenty of it. The buildings are all wheelchair accessible (and actually wheelchair friendly - not just ADA compliant!) The cafe has a limited menu but everything we ordered was very good and priced quite reasonably. I was surprised that there weren't recycling options for all the plastics that were used and thrown away (water bottles at least).

T Mcfarland

Awesome cultural experience. Great to visit in early spring. Definitely going again to set one of the live cultural days.

megan m

An amazing visit. Tons of information and beautifully kept center

Robert Turner

Excellent facilities to learn about the Chickasaw nation. Art is on display as well as historical information. The site has a cafe which is very enjoyable. I would allow 3 to 4 hours.

Russell Bentley

WONDERFUL enrichment place, please bring your family! I also love coming here because of the people they have just making things in the hallway. As well as beautiful gardens in the back although they are a little overgrown they're still pretty and the bridge and the village that they have set up there! I enjoyed a wonderful lunch as much as I did feeding the turtles and big catfish!

Daniel McClure

What an amazing place! It was a privilege to learn both what Native American tribes in the US have contributed to our country and also the rich history that they have! A couple of highlights were the replica village and the museum!

Patricia Riley

Great place to visit and learn about Chickasaw People.

Ryan Morawey

Very fun! Interactive displays and an live dance are always fun! I even got to participate! Wasn't very good but it was still fun. I took my Pokemon with me. The shots aren't the best but I like them.

Tim Mitchell

It was fun to learn about their customs. The kids got to make some neat items and participate in a tribal dance.

Beth Walker

Great auditorium...gift shop needs longer hours on weekends

C H

This place is very nice with many exhibits and lots of historical value. It was difficult to know where to go and what to do, the staff were more focused on their cell phones. We wondered around until we figured things out.

Julie Houser

I loved this place. There is a lot to do for everyone in the family. The staff was very knowledgeable and nice, the food was delicious and the theater was super high tech. Wonderful place, I would recommend it to any and everyone. The staff tells not only the tribe history, but the state history, and the history of the land! So neat!

Wayne Alsdorf

Very educational an awesome experience highly recommend going thru watch the dance and grounds are beautiful

Kristie Nutt

Very nice place to visit beautiful area

John Yeakey

It was for mother's day so there were lots of fun crarfs for the kids.

Marcos Nevarez

I was surprisingly pleased with the variety offered at this Culture Center. So much to see and do. I only wish we had more time. I can't wait to go back!!

Robert Talbot

Very nice place that is kid and family friendly. Indoor exhibits are very cool and informative. The reason for the 4 star instead of five is it is very noisy. So if you have a problem with simultaneous multiple noises you might not like some of the indoor exhibits. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They make sure you are having the best experience. The food is more cafeteria style like you would expect at a zoo or such but is very good.

Shanna Burton

Absolutely wonderful place to visit!

Jeannie Freeman

What a wonderful place to spend a day with my family! The workers were super friendly and the exhibits were well worth the drive through beautiful Oklahoma to see. Felix went above and beyond to answer our questions, and we found answers to anthropological mysteries we'd been contemplating for years! What a wonderful treasure this facility offers the world!

benjamin larson

Beautiful campus, lots of interactive exhibits. Definitely worth the trip

Aslan Maleki

Definitely set aside more than 2 hours if you are going to visit this complex. It is massive and there's so much to explore. It is a honor to have something like this in Oklahoma. You will learn so much by just walking around. You cannot help but be impressed at attention to detail from the over-engineered bridge to the extensive use of copper.

Tina-Louise Leblond

Lots of information and things to do and see. Wonderful.

King bob The king of bob

It was fun and I learned a lit about my past

connor postell

Very educational experience. The people truly care about preserving Chickisaw culture.

Linda Hooks

Beautiful place just not much to see.

The Hipsterminator

A mandatory stop while visiting the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. The folks here are so nice and helpful. Beautiful displays and lots to learn. Make sure to swing by the gift shop - they’ve got awesome stuff!

Judith Rex

My family has been twice and loved it both times! There are so many fun learning activities for kids, and it’s neat to be immersed in Chickasaw history there. Everything in the village is free, and the activities change with different things focused on holidays/seasons. My kids ranging from ages 2-12 were all entertained and everyone working there was so patient.

Betty Sanders

Great we plan to go back sometime and check out the Museum, we were doing Adventure Road today and had to get all of our stamps completed ..but we took time to have something to eat , we had Indian Tacos made with Bison was terrific and the sweet tea was great as well.

Jim B

Awesome staff! Good inexpensive food. Aho!

manuel muniz

This place was just awesome! Nice place to walk and see stuff and learn about the culture! Really enjoyed my time here.

Eric Axe

This place was awesome. Very informative and educational. I learned some things before I got there, however there was a lot I was never taught about. The grounds there are beautiful and easy walking. The museum was amazing along with the village. The gardens were very impressive. The Stomp Dance was educational. With every turn I learned something new. I am already looking forward and planning another visit.

Dacia Bergeson

Very informative and fun! There are different activities for the kids on different days so make sure to check the calendar. The authentic food was good and fun for the kids to try. We especially loved learning about the culture and the dancing.

Charles Hare

Great day spent here, full. For all and great cafe

Anna Hall

We loved the interactive stomp dance and feeding the fish! Museum part did cost us a few dollars. We had a few small children and a senior and we are tribal so it was less than full price.

Jon-Paul Rodriguez

Fantastic experience we were welcomed in and asked to dance. Best experience so far traveling across the country!

Dawn

Spent several hours here and enjoyed every minute. We had a wonderful lunch of buffalo tacos on fried bread, listened to a motivational speaker in the theater, participated in the stomp dance demonstration in the village, toured the museum, fed the catfish in the pond and bought some beautiful turquoise jewelry in the gift shop, all the while learning so much about the Chickasaw culture. I love the architecture, this is a beautiful and serene place. Everyone working there is so kind. The museum is VERY interactive and the displays are top notch. One of the best museums I have been too. Only problem is there is so much to see!! We need to go back!!!

His Name

Truly amazing! A real 1910 Honus Wagner card is on display!

Susan Cole

Beautiful and informative. The people were welcoming and kind.

Janet Degner

We loved this for a day trip.

Samin M.

It is an awesome place to learn about Chickasaw culture and also a place to just spend the day at. The buildings are beautifully designed and encompasses the stunning scenery around it. Lush greenery, a lot of native plants, tons of wildlife, changes in elevation, pond area, and much more. These all make this place naturally beautiful. As for the interior they have a lot of free exhibits to and even some movies at the theatre that looked better than my local cinemark. They also have great food at extremely good prices with some specialties such as bison meat. The open field area is great where there are live performances and events. The place also has a lot of actual Natives and descendants so you can talk to them for even more personal insight. Highly recommend you go check it out if you're in the area!

Diana Bowen

It was great !!!! I took 2 of my grandchildren, they had a really fun time. We will do it again.

Becky Small

The staff is so friendly and helpful ~ the food was very delicious and reasonably priced ~ the grounds are beautifully layed out, clean and very serene. I'm planning to return in the Fall to explore more of the areas I missed on my first visit...I highly recommend that you visit!

KATHY SLUITER

Explore a fabulous culture right here in Oklahoma. It rained heavy so the outside we only saw the the exhibits inside but it was still worth the drive. I will be back to learn more about the village.

Amber Torres

Awesome place to bring the family they have wheelchairs, even have people that help you get around, there's many things to see ask about movies they show as well.

Hannah Bartlett

Here there are several buildings associated with the centre including a theatre, a museum and an art gallery and more. We saw the stomp dance performed in the theatre which was interesting to watch. They explained a bit about the Chickasaw traditions and culture and about the shakers that the women wear. The museum was well laid out and modern, with lots to see and plenty of information about the history up to the present day of the Chickasaw people.

Lowell Torske

It was a pleasant motorcycle ride getting there. The place is beautiful! A must go to place for a greater understanding of Indian culture and history. I have learned something new every time I've visited. A very peaceful atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and most helpful. I plan on going back regularly with more friends.

fresh panda

Very fun and entertaining to see. The people are very nice and helpful. and during spring break the have activity for the kids. Nothing to be disappointed about it.

cj john

Alvin and Johnny are the best!♥️

Shirayuuki1

Such a beautiful center! Loved learning about the Chickasaw people and their history. We were there for the little museum and the stomp dancing. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay longer but we managed to get lunch which was also delicious. Definitely suggest visiting during spring/summer months in order to enjoy the Center's walking paths and grounds. Staff there were also very lovely. If I'm ever in the area again I'll try and visit when the weather is warmer.

Cliff Turner

Most INCREDIBLE stop in Chickasaw Country!! Amazing history and the Indian Tacos are A MUST!! We went back following days just for the food! The Cultural Center was described to me as the “Crown jewel in the crown of the Chickasaw Nation” and if anything their description was an understatement! We were blown away with the historical information, along with the majestic and incredible attention to details of the grounds and buildings!

Jamie Wolf

Very beautiful place we enjoyed the stomp dances they didn't for mothers day

Ryan Warford

My son and I went there this weekend for the first time with his Cub Scout pack. He had a great time learning and experiencing the Chickasaw culture. He did arts and crafts and especially loved the stick ball social game. We will be back.

Jose bolaños

Is quite place and nice swimming areas

Robert Shipley

One of a kind and absolutely Beautiful

Jay Parker

Cool place. I like the walk through village and the cable bridge that does over the creek. Hint- you can get to it from Veteran's Lake down a gravel road that goes past the dam to the right. This is good if you are already at Bromide Hill and want to go there without driving through town.

Terrie Campbell

Very nice facility. Lots of educational areas.

Jesse Peterson

I went with my child on a school trip. I am not native American but I am intrigued by their culture. They have a very good tour for the kids. I highly recommend this place.

I absolutely loved the culture and exhibits were amazing, learned so much about the Indians and what they went through to get where they are today. it was a shame what they endured by the American white man.. I apologize as an American for that... thank you for allowing me to have a glimpse of your lives throughout the years. God bless you all!!

박정재

This place made me relax. And all the workers here were very kind and helpful.

Tamra Musil

Very friendly, attentive staff. Well kept grounds. Clean and contemporary facilities.

Owen Carew

Quiet place of reflection and mild education. The displays focused on "how things were" vs the acts that result in their presence in Oklahoma, or the tragedy that resulted. Not really a place for small children but certainly one for people capable of reflection.

GUS nava

They're tradition an music,an the plants to learn more about remedies using plants

Sarah Stephens

Simply beautiful!!! Maria was a fabulous tour guide, so heartfelt and compassionate in her words when introducing any part of the area. Thank you Maria and all for a wonderful visit!!

Vlad Wallace

The theater was closed so that was unfortunate, but the muesem and the art gallery was very fun to visit. I would recommend to go at around 2 so you could have enoguht time to do the things you want, but also it's a quieter time.

Norma Monsebais

Awesome place to visit, it was a great learning experience of the Chickasaw Nation.

Cody Sodowsky

Amazing cultural heritage and historical arts. Really enjoy the stomp dance.

Dean A

We went on a Tuesday and the theatre was shut down for new employee training. Seems like poor management to me. Most exhibits were interesting. Some were very amaturish (think baskets and beads from Hobby Lobby). Best part was listening to the tribal members versed in tribal traditions.

Annette Henager

Great place. Good cheap food. Varied experiences.

Mary Peeler

Its a pleasant way to spend an afternoon visiting Chickasaw history.

Pam Kibby

Fun and interesting, very educational for the kids.

Jerry Stapleton

It is an amazing place to visit!! It was educational and entertaining. Everyone was great!!!

Cherie Fry

A great place to learn of the Chickasaw culture and history. Don't miss the Stomp Dance! It dispels myths and misconceptions built by the old B-movie westerns. You'll go away with an appreciation of the people, culture, and traditions. An enriching experience!

Nelly Hall

It was a great place to visit! Everything is so beautifully kept, so clean and so informative. The people were very nice! I definitely recommend it!

Jamie Scott

Man its nice showing my kids what being chickasaw is about and how our nation has grown! And man everything we build as a nation is sweet looking just like our hospital in ada,ok.!!!!

Anecia Pearson

Excellent artifacts and exhibits. Such welcoming and friendly people.

Darryl Laake

Very good place to learn how our native Americans lived long ago. A lot of the exhibits are interactive so it's like a guided tour through history. I would definitely encourage you to visit this friendly family oriented center. We even got to see and hear real Indian dance and song rituals which were informative as well as great entertainment. You can even feed huge catfish and turtles in the lake. If you're passing by this is a must see. And also it's all absolutely free!!

Jason Powell

Great cafe, lots of very well done exhibits.

Jon

Beautiful place to learn about a whole culture and it's people . The entire center is well kept , clean , and peaceful .

Alwaysget Betterstronger

This place was great for the family. Plenty of parking, clean bathrooms, activities for the kids, and of course History and Culture of the Chickasaw. Great for the whole family (we have young kids (3yr & less than 1), I think I saw a sign that read, "Please no dogs." The stomp dance was interesting and informative. They invited the kiddos down to the stage for the snake dance. When we went there were several activities for the kids. Multiple stations with peopling helping and crafts the kids got to keep (clay turtle, bead key chain, weaved craft, etc). Outdoors there were several open spaces. Even have a pond with fish and turtles that you can feed (vending machines with food pellets). There are probably other things we missed because we were on a time schedule. We only had 2 hours to stay (before we had to get back on the road); but you could literally spend the whole day here. There was food - looked like what you'd get in a mall.

Ginny Rice

Fantastic experience!! So much to see and do. Plan to spend several hours exploring. Really enjoyed going there and highly recommend.

Jeremy Mettler

Took my daughters there to see the exhibit and village. The outdoor areas are infested with wasps which scared my youngest daughter. I thought the place was pretty cool, but my daughter does not recommend.

Shannon Frisbie

Wonderful! We made a day trip out of it. Super fun.

Full Time Humans

A great stop for education. These are well kept grounds with great exhibits. The stomp dance demonstration was interesting. It is a nice day to walk around and explore. The highlight for us was the outdoor area where they have a lifesize replica of a village in the back. As a side note: There is no biking in the park, but they have a trail that connects in the back that you can bike on.

Ralph Puglisi

A must see. Come hungry. The food is great an inexpensive. We saw a dance and flute exhibition. Very good. The commentator was very well spoken an informative. The whole thing was great. We had an afternoon we will always remember.

Debbie Shannon

It was very interesting. I learned alot of new information.

Katie Bleeker

Great opportunity to learn. We went as part of the Artesian Artisan Festival and we're able to enjoy the grounds and village for free. The museum has an admission ticket but I was really impressed with what was available complimentary. Also nice touches like bathrooms, sunscreen stations, and water stations on the far out spots were so nice.

Rayleen Sanchez

Very cool place. Had a great time. Lots to see and do

Alethia DeRaad

Very interesting area to learn about. Facility was very clean, bathrooms clean. Atmospere was relaxed. Nice stop

Coy Douglass

Beautiful grounds, bronze sculptures, the art displays and a great educational experience

Alex Glover

Really cool place

Alan Sigler

Loved learning about the Chickasaw nation. The center was very large. The Indians shared some of there dances with the audience and some of our crowd went and danced along side them. Awesome.

Chocolate Princess

We had so much fun. I haven't had this much fun in years. The people there were so sweet and nice. They had really cool things to look at and I really enjoyed myself.

Amanda Panda

I went with my BF on a roadtrip for my birthday, we were gonna go to Turner Falls but the weather wasn't conducive to that plan. We went to the Chickasaw Cultural Center instead and I'm glad we did. It was so neat to learn about the chickasaw Nation and we even got to see a stomp dance which was awesome!! I will definitely be going back sometime!! Thanks for sharing your culture with us. We loved every minute of it. I got lots if cool pictures that I will share with yall. Of you're on the edge about going here just do it. The admission fee was $7 each (for adults) you won't regret it

Gina Bell

This place is amazing. Very interesting family place to learn about the Chickasaw culture and tribe. They put so much in the center it’s so neat.

Sandy Bixler

At my most recent visit I enjoyed learning about the game of Stick Ball. Who knew it was a sport still played by scholarship teams today?! Not me!

Crystal Blanchard

Beautiful and very cultural great learning experience

Garry Cahill

It is winter here so it is the quiet season which means we had the place almost to ourselves. Sadly this meant the trees and gardens were sad and walking around the grounds was very chilly. That said I could not recommend the Chickasaw Cultural Centre highly enough. Despite the cold we had a great time here. The dancers put on a great show just for the 2 of us (no one else was in the theatre). Very good exhibition. The museum is a wonderful place to find out about the Chickasaw Nation with some terrific displays (many hands on). The staff were knowledgeable and happy to chat & explain things. The cafe by the theatre is inexpensive and would suit most tastes (I had a traditional dish they called "Chickasaw Special" - tasty). My only criticism is that the prices in the gift shop are very high when I compare them with similar places we have visited. Bottom line is do not miss this extremely important and interesting centre.

Barbi Yokeley

Beautiful facility. Definitely very family friendly and a great place to spend a day learning and relaxing.

Teresa E. Collier

Its beautiful and everyone is so nice. We have been several times and love it every time. We learn something new each visit.

Jaci Graves

This place is really nice! I could have spent so many more hours there than we were able to! Beautiful and interactive and educational!

sansis21

I love this place. We had the Bison Indian taco. It was on point delicious. It's so beautiful out there any time of the year. Give this place a try, you won't regret it. Enjoy a move, feed the fish, see the exhibits and walk the grounds that ajoin our beautiful national park.

Penny Schaefer

The campus is beautiful! It is very large, but they have golf carts that will shuttle you places. The Anoli theater has great films and colorful stomp dancers. The Chickasaw people were so welcoming and willing to share their culture. Don't miss Indian Tacos at the cafe next to the Anoli theater

Stan Unsell

Will go again when we have more time to spend

Paige Bell

Very neat place to visit, a must go if in the area.

Crystal Ann Nash

Visited this place one Saturday, with a niece. It was kind of hot that day. There were different exhibits showing how they lived back in the day. Weapons, tools, jewelry, food grown and eaten, where corn was stored in a corn crib. Housing that appeared to be huts. beds, pans, mats made with the texture of a paper-like material. Best was their demonstrations of dances and songs in costumes and turtle rattle-like instruments. These were made from turtle shells, cans with rattling noise inside. These were attached to their calf. A large pond holds catfish and turtles visiters can feed. There's a machine you put a quarter in and get food for them. There was buildings with gift shops, museum, crafts. There was a theater. A small cafe' sellingfood and drinks.
