Center of the Universe was cool. I figured out how it works. I'm not going to ruin it for you but squat down and talk. The echo is even louder!
Really cool place! Its weird how it does that!
It’s not really as cool and exciting as I hyped it up to be in my head. I went at night, it didn’t show to have such a dramatic auditory effect as described by some people. Definitely going to have to go back and try it again.
A fun little marvel that gives you a good reason to walk around in downtown Tulsa. It's better if you go with a group, but it's definitely something to do.
I was so excited to see this phenomenon! But kinda let down maybe cause we went at night instead of during the day. But the lights around the walk way is pretty cool and your voice really does echo. Which is pretty cool. I probably wont go back though. Kinda just something to cross of your bucket list..
Not really all what it's cracked up to be. Just a little circle in the ground. Hard to spot
Humble in appearance but it's a neat place to visit! My husband and Exchanged marriage vows here.
So cool that you sound like you are in a tunnel when you are standing atop a completely open air train bridge!!! Echo is an interesting effect, only works smack dab in the middle!!!!
Took my mother in law here, she thought it was really cool. My husband and I visit when the weather is nice. There's always music playing and great atmosphere.
So cool my wife and granddaughter was in the Circle and I was slightly out and I didn't hear anything. But when I got into it I could here the Echo.
It was amazing!!! I've always wanted to go there just never had the chance until today
One and only and an Iconic Centerpiece to the Historic Downtown Tulsa Area!
This was an amazing experience! I walked in and when I talked i jumped because I was startled! It was great and a must see for anyone in the area
Cool attraction spot. Our GPS took us to the wrong street and ended up having to walk around to find it. Definitely was alittle hidden. There is a free parking lot right in front of this sight.
While working on a documentary about the mysteries of ancient China I visited an emperor's palace where if you stood at a certain spot and spoke even in a whisper people anywhere in the square could hear your voice clearly. In a more humble setting in the center of a footbridge across the railroad tracks in downtown Tulsa the Center of the Universe bears some similarities, however the voice you hear is your own.
It was not what I was expecting and much smaller of an area than I had anticipated but the acoustics of it are really neat in the center. Just a neat attraction if you're in the area but would not go out of the way to see it.
Must experience, why not! Pretty cool spot..
I know it is similar to other attractions like this, but I found this one to echo the best out of the few I’ve visited. It is also located close to the art district, which is a neat place to explore.
Nice place to drive up to, take pics and hear your echo!!! On the circle your echo is louder in this one spot than anywhere else you stand.
The center is fun but the big explosion is even better, there are handles on it you can lift then bang to make the noise!
Fun, quick tourist stop if you're in downtown Tulsa! Could be maintained a little better.
Worth checking out at least once at night. Great for a romantic outing.
Love this place. It's great!
Cant believe how good the echoe was really cool
Pretty cool! Stand in the center of the circle and talk, it will echo!
This was so much fun to visit. Would recommend to anyone. It actually works, ya know the echoing and all
Very cool little quirk in downtown Tulsa
A cool place that no one else has. It actually does what your are told it will do. Kind of freaky!!!!!
It's so neat and free.
It's worth a quick look, but the same auditory/acoustic effect occurs at the other alcoves along the path too. If you're visiting Tulsa and just walking around then go ahead and stroll by it. Locals will probably have mentioned it to you, but don't think it's anything spectacular despite its cool name. YOU are the true Center of the Universe after all ;)
The photo is the actual place where you need to stand. Doesn't look like much, but I promise it's worth a visit. When you speak within the center of that circle it's as if you're listening to yourself through headphones. 5 stars, very unique and interesting attraction.
Such an interesting downtown Tulsa attraction. It's free, it's accessible from highway, parking is easy. I grew up in Tulsa and I had never heard of this spot until I saw it on Google. Good memories with my children from the "Center of the Universe"!
It was kind of cool to see but it's nothing special. You can still hear the person from the outside but you can hear your voice echoing on the inside.
This place is so cool and if you come from out of town you need to come to this place
Standing in the circle and hearing your voice (talking not yelling) bounce back at you even louder was pretty cool. What was amazing is that the people standing a foot or two away could not hear the echo. Stranger things should film an episode at The Center of the Universe.
Great place to take your girl and have free time together. Parking is rite by it on a one way.
It's something that you need to experience you can't describe it. You definitely have to be there to experience the effect
It was a really cool experience and the kids loved it! Don't plan your whole trip around it but if you're already there, definitely check it out!
While visiting Tulsa we had to stop here to see the "mini Twin Tower". The structure is beautiful and it was very interesting
Interesting enough but my ex-wife wasn't there so she has some explaining to do
The legend is true here. The center of the universe is everything I hadn't heard of before until I saw it, experience the Wonder!
Pretty great if you like talking to yourself
Visited during First Friday events in Tulsa's art district. Center of the Universe is very unique in that when you stand in the middle of the circle and talk you will hear your voice echo. How does this happen? Good question to figure out with your friends and family but remember it is the Center of the Universe! Definitely a pretty cool spot to check out! If you are in Tulsa, definitely go by and see it, it is worth it.
I ended up parking in a parking garage nearby. I thought it was so fun to stand in the circle and hear my own echo. My 4 kids each tried and none of them seemed to be able to hear it (ages 2-12). It was easy to do en route to other planned activities.
You stand right in the middle of the "area" inside a small circle. It can be a little embarrassing if you are a shy person to yell in front of a lot of other people, but if you can get past that it is fun. I didn't really hear an "echo" per say, but it was more of a "vibration" while you were yelling.
Not really much to see but a statue but if you’re here you may as well visit the center of all that is
It's kind of cool, you can whisper and hear yourself on the other side of downtown lol
Wasn't what i was expecting found it over an ad that my friend sent me and its just basically a big circle in the ground. It wasn't what I thought it was gonna be but it was still an adventure.
Amazing how the echo is! Tried to FaceTime my kids at home but they can’t hear the echo on the phone. Really neat. Must go see! Wish I knew the history of the door bell with the planes and people.
Ok. So. You look at it and you think, "it's just a spot on the pavement; what's so special about... Oh! It reverbs! How cool is that!" Just go. It's worth the walk.
A very interesting place to visit and share with out of town friends!
Our kids love going here then walking or riding around downtown.
Super cool. Wasn't sure what to do, but you just talk or something and you can hear the echo.
Tulsa land mark. You can stand in the center talk, not loudly, and hear your echo. Minutes away from everything downtown has to offer.
Nothing to make a day of but if you are in the area it is worth a stop. If you stand on the disc in the center of the circle you hear an echo almost like when you talk out loud with ear plugs in your ears. Not marked and no plaques to tell you about it. Parking is not a problem
Very awesome thing to do with the kids. However I wished there weren't so many bricks/stones missing. Standing in the innermost circle and speaking you do hear an echo so watching the kids face getting experience it was priceless. Another thing and maybe we missed it because we went at night but I would like to see a pedestal of some sort to give history on the spot and instructions on what to do. If I wouldn't have known about the area I wouldn't have known what to do.
Pretty cool. Definitely heard the echo. Me and my husband could hear each other the same inside and outside the circle but if we were both inside the circle we could hear each other's echo.
Stand on the right of the crack - that's where we heard the echo the loudest! Fun stop. Parking garage next door makes it easily accessible.
This place is weird but in a good way.
Cool to see but the local government needs to spend the time to clean this place up. Lots of grafitti by super cool gangsters ruins it.
This is a must-see for tourists. It's very interesting to stand at the middle of the circle and to hear The Echoes of sound that are made. In a way it's very much a mystery and not a lot of people understand how it works, what other people say it is because of the architecture that is built around it. If you are a site seer to Tulsa or a tourist this is a fantastic place to visit. There's parking right next to it which is often fairly vacant allowing you easy access.
Very unique, tiny spot in the heart of the city. By standing on a disk just large enough for that purpose, you can hear your voice altered that no one else will. The appeal is simply experiencing that phenomenon. Getting off the disk cancels the effect.
It is pretty awesome how only you can hear your own echo.
It's kinda cool! ...nothing major it's FREE
Just a fun place to say you have been to!
Great place to visit even downtown Tulsa.
So it actually does echo strangely. Check it out!
We visited place on Saturday night and was really nice area to walk around too
You can't visit Tulsa without experiencing this very cool phenomenon! Then head a few blocks east and check out the Blue Dome district. If you're low-class artsy folk like me, you'll love these two Tulsa highlights. If you're a little more upper class, then after experiencing the Center of the Universe, go a few blocks north and check out the Brady Arts district. Lots of fancy restaurants and museums, and the famous Guthrie Green.
It didn't look like much at first, but it was so awesome once you stood in the circle and talked or sang or made any noise. There was an echo that only the person in the circle can hear. People need steps away couldn't hear it. It was really wild. Loved it!
Nice spot to stop if you are driving through or have some time to kill. Would be nice if there was signage explaining more about the science but maybe they want it to be a mystery. Either way a cool unique one of a kind experience.
This is such a cool little place! You likely won't spend much time here, but the phenomenon of that spot is just so neat. It's fun for kids and adults alike!
Pretty cool spot to visit and hear the echoes everyone with you. My son really enjoyed hearing himself in surround sound!
It's cool and there was a piano on a sidewalk nearby to play
Had a great time with my boyfriend. It was so peaceful and it was a great quiet peaceful escape from the everyday hustle and bustle
Quick visit. Cool sound
We made a trip to go and see this. It was worth it because we added other Tulsa attractions to our day. Overall this was a really cool experience and we did hear the absence and travel of sound. My 3 year old thought it was the coolest thing. We loved that it was free, and super easy to find. The tower next to the circle was some sort of art installation that seemed very ominous. If I could change anything it would be to include a sign describing how and why this phenomenon occurs here.
Who knows what the hell is going. There has to be of course a logical reason for it. It's weird and cool.
Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
That place was cool, an Oklahoma best kept secret.
Cool spot. Think low key.
Me and my girlfriend took a nice walk through downtown Tulsa and we ended our rondeavo at the center of the universe where you hear this awesome echo reverberating off the surrounding streets and buildings. It was very entertaining.
An exciting off- beat stop. A must see. Take a look at the sculptures.
Lived in the Tulsa area for over 28 years and just came here for the first time ever. It was pretty cool. Wish they had some kind of sign or something explaining what it was or what to do.. seemed to be several ppl walking around it not knowing what to do. But it really was a pretty cool effect.
Great atmosphere! Incredible staff! Laid back with great beer! Marcella was fantastic and Johnny and all the staff made us feel like family!! Will definitely be back every time I visit Tulsa!
I wish it had a sign letting us know we were there, but it was fun finding it!
This is an interesting little stop. You must go stand on the spot, spin around and talk!
Pretty neat to visit during the evening when its dark out. Fun to step on the bricks and its worth the trip downtown.
Very cool experience. They really need a landmark of some sort though. If I hadn't already read that there wasn't one and seen a picture I might not have found it.
I came here because of the center of the universe that I really wanted to visit and experience it myself.. you can hear like your echoing once yoh step out you can’t it’s all to weird not a very unique spot or anything kinda scary to go there at night a little Ghetto here..
Very Intriguing!! The children thought it was echoing because we were on a bridge.
Great place. Needs some matinance, stones are missing. It's a little dirty. Having all the work done downtown, makes me wonder why it's not approached.
It was incredible to stand in the center of the universe and to hear myself echo in the circle , i went there with my brother and grandmother.
Pretty neat. I'd recommend going sometime other than a weekend. It was really busy downtown that night and you didn't want to stand there too long because other people wanted to try it.
Love this little gem. Acoustically fascinating. I always bring new folks here.
Fun quick, little stop. Very interested
It was a cool, free, different thing to do. Seems kinda lame when you just about when you look it up but actually really neat.
Alright, I don't get it. I don't understand why this place is even a thing. There are flower beds that form a circle around you and when you talk it creates a very un-impressive, quick echo. I was expecting some crazy phenomenon, or at least a cool sight, but it's just a sidewalk with some plant beds. I heard it and was like "oh, that's it!?". Not worth it. Guess the standards are lower in Oklahoma
It's fun! My bestie and I stood at the center and it still worked. Strangest thing to hear your echo and there's not a thing around to cause it! Go! Have fun! Enjoy!
I love the center of the earth! It's just a really neat place.
Its really fun its not physically demanding to get to and you can walk around downtown afterwards
The kids a I had a fun time messing with our echoes.
this was a really super cool place to visit! loved doing the echo thing! really fun!
It is a one of a kind experience. It definitely echoes!
My daughter got engaged in the center of the universe and swears that it was the most unique effect being asked in the echo effect.
This is a pretty cool spot! Make sure to have your video camera going when your companions first start to speak on the circle. Everyone knew what to expect yet were still amazed. Right next to it is this huge iron structure with what looks like crashing planes. It's a trip.
Very interesting place to visit. It's free to go check out. The main reason for four stars instead of five is parking. They should have free parking for this. This takes all of ten minutes to see and do. I wouldn't make a special trip to go see this but if your already in downtown Tulsa go check it out. It's worth seeing.
Interesting place to visit. Stand on the ' spot ' and talk...you echo...at night there are lights in the walkway guiding you to the center.
Free to visit, cheap parking nearby. The is acoustics have to be experienced! Added bonus, scenic views of the railroad tracks. There's an art museum nearby and you're already in the heart of the art deco downtown.
It was so cool there! When you stand in the middle, you can hear your voice echo but everyone else (that's not in the middle) can't hear it! It's really cool!
Went with my girlfriend for the first time at night. It was amazing!
Definitely cool, but isn't something that's unique to Tulsa. This effect happens in lots of places, including buildings around the area. Check it out while you're downtown, but don't go out of your way to drive here just to see it.
Cool place. Echo is better if you look down it seems
Takes 1 minute to see, but is amazing. People with hearing aids do struggle to hear the universe however :( easy to find based on this huge sculpture pictured
Cool place to check out if you happen to be in the area. Only reason for 4 stars instead of five was the “lime/bird” electric scooter posse terrorizing the scene. If you have small children or pets with you, just be aware of the loud and repetitive clanging from unsupervised children bashing the monuments door knocker style feature. Our dog is usually unperturbed by anything, but was so freaked out by the marauding bird scooter posse and the unrelenting and echoing “clang” that we had to dip out soon after arriving.
This place is awesome when there aren't tweens ringing damned over sized door knocker.
A Different experience altogether and definately a fun thing to go do with friends and family.
Not worth the hype. 2 minutes of fun, at best.
Quick, free piece of the city to experience. The acoustical mystery is fun.
Just the tuuth of being the center. It's just fun
Must experience! It's on the pedestrian walkway over the railroad tracks. There is no monument just a metal marker in the walkway.
A cool place to say you were there. Mind blowing! Glad we decided to stop.
Bestest place in the universe.
Awesome tourist attraction! Free to check out.
"Center" has interesting acoustics for the 'tin ear' and I'm sure the locals snicker each time one of us rubes sets the gong off but the approach walkway from the Hardesty Arts Center is clean (tho somewhat irregular, due to tree roots I'm sure). It is sometimes shaded which should appeal to people watchers (like me). All in all, a fun way to while away 30-45 minutes.
It was a really unique phenomenon to hear! Just need to experience to understand.
I stood in the middle of the center of the universe and shouted Trump is still your president moments later Donald Trump tweeted Trump is still your president what an amazing experience
Weird. Cool. The other people in my group along with myself could hear the "echo" but he couldn't, hence the weird reference. I loved it! What a mystery.
