This place is packed with interesting artifacts. Atoka itself seemed boring when we were stuck there, but this place made being there worth it. So many cool things to see.

This little county museum is well worth a stop. Despite its free admission (there is a donation box) there is much to learn about this area’s rich history, and how the civil war played into the area. Also, if you’re a fan of Country Music, Reba McEntire is from the area, and the museum contains a collection of items from her early years.

Nice lady, super friendly, great displays of the ATOKA STARS from Reba McEntire all the way back to the indigenous, Indian tribes.

Lilmiss Shelbel

Interesting outside, we didn't go into the museum because they were closed. They have a Civil War cemetery in the back dates around 1862.

A decent amount of cool historical artifacts mixed with homespun Oklahoma kitsch from days gone by. Worth the visit, 20 to 40 minutes is probably plenty of time unless you are especially inquisitive. Sign the guestbook and make sure you ask to hear the record player.

I missed the museum being opened again, but this is my 3rd time visiting here and you really get a feel for what kind of operation went on here. Take a step back when American history could fit into a pamphlet! History junkies will not be disappointed
