REVIEWS OF Grahams Island State Park IN North Dakota

My family and friends love this camp ground. It is very clean and has so many amenities from swimming, fishing, walking, entertainment, even a fenced in dog park! They keep the grounds and facilities very clean and scenic! We have only stayed in the Howard campground cause we LOVE IT! There really isn't a bad campsite as they are all such good size. They are private with lots of wooded/shaded area (make sure you bring supplies to keep the bugs away). It really is my favorite camping place!

Dan Davey

An excellent park from full hookups, to electrical and water to cabins to tent sites. All on a very popular fishing lake with lots of history. Devils Lake the nearest town is,about 20 minutes away. Great dog park and excellent fish cleaning facilities and a nice camp store with the essential stuff.

Super clean park with friendly staff

We have visited this park 4 or 5 times. I cannot say enough about how "clean" it is. The campsites are just outstanding. I have only one request: A harbor for boats for mid-day. I would like to put my boat into a dock/slip for an hour or so while we have lunch. Right now, there is nothing that works like that.

Bullow Vaj

Get a site that's in the wooded area, huge trees and privacy. Well maintained and room if you haul a boat. Good ramps and parking.

Lisa Pascual

A very nice park. Sites in the park are spread out. Sites near office are very close together. But with full hook ups. Glad we have our site further in. Rather dump and have more space. We had electric and water. Lots of trees. People are really nice. Lots of shade. Mosquitos so bring bug spray. I got bite quite a few times even through my clothes. Very itchy. Bathrooms are super clean. Showers are hot. Floor is wet and slippery if you go during a busy time.

We camped here for a weekend in the summer. This North Dakota State Park is a fishing paradise! The visitor center is a giant baitshop! There are fish cleaning stations, a boat ramp, beach and fishing dock within walking distance of the entrance. While we did some fishing, we were in a double group site with some friends. The bigger site was awesome, and allowed for us to set up large yard games. We hung out around the fire, and had a blast all weekend. We hiked some of the trails and around the lakeshore. The playground was good too, and my daughter had a fun time. You can tell that this is one of the better funded ND State Parks, all of the facilities we're clean and cared for. I imagine that this is one of the busier parks, being on Devil's Lake. The only caveat being reservations. You have to make them plenty early to get a spot. We did. There are quite a few single spots all the way to group spots for four campers. If you wanted to throw a weekend camping and fishing blowout, this would be the park! I'd definitely camp here again.

Brad Paulson

If you are an adventure rider or camping off your motorcycle, they have zero room for you. I drove 100 miles to camp there and they couldn't even give up 10 square feet to accommodate me, they keep saying we dont have anymore hook ups. I told them I don't have any thing to hook up. And lastly they will not offer any primative camping.

Greg Volk

Beautiful park like campground with plenty of room between camp sites. Mature trees, grassy sites. Great for families. Right on the lakeshore, fabulous fir fishermen.

Carrie Duafala

I'm not to fond of ND state parks, but this park and turtle river are really nice for day trips. The trails are nice and there are good picnic areas. I haven't camped at this park. The sites are close to one another but are well taken care of. If you are in the area, this is s nice park to visit.

John Wannemacher

Highly recommended! This place has it all. The staff is helpful and friendly, camp sites are spacious and always well taken care of

This place is top notch.

Gibrann Dominguez

Love this place. Very quiet and peaceful if you love to camp and not be bothered. Grass is always green and clean.

Wesley Smith

This place is mostly all about fishing. Limited trails, they are really well maintained and marked. I personally like the looped camping spots better than the LaRosa area. But LaRosa has sewer hookups too which is nice with kids in the camper. Bring mosquito spray...REALLY! We like it here, turtle river. Little better swimming area at Icelandic park for the kiddos. This beach has no shade and lots of rocky sand, but the water is nice here.

C.A. Ellis

Kent Kleinwachter

Great campground! Paved roads make for a lot less dust. Sand volleyball court was clean, no weeds. Swimming area was clean and not overcrowded. ND Game and Fish office/convenience store has a decent selection. Clean bathroom/showers. Several campsites with some privacy available.

Lisa Dewey

This was our first time to the State Park and we stayed in our travel trailer in the Ziebach campground. It had nice big sites with water and electric hookups. They had a visitor center which included a small store that was very nice. We also saw but didn't use the fish cleaning station. Graham's Island State Park is located on Devil 's Lake and is know for Walleye fishing. We also discovered they had a dog park. We enjoyed the whole time we were there and will stay there again sometime soon.

Thomas Abney

I stopped at Graham's Island on my way to somewhere else just to rest overnight. The tent camping area is beautiful, has restrooms, and up in the camper area there are full bathrooms/showers included in the tent camping price also. Very peaceful area when I started, but I was the only one in the tent area, which was AWESOME!

Chris Broz

Well maintained campsite in a great location with some of the areas best fishing!

Jessica Braathen

Kinda crowded in summer time, very fun in spring and fall when it's less crowded. Beautiful views and sounds and feels good to be out there.

Rick Timmerman

Great clean place to go fishing

Rhonda Robb

Huge, spacious tent sites with lake views in primitive camping.

Rob Springborg

Very nice place to camp, everything you need is on the island

Chris Pauly

We put our boat in the water at this park. It was pretty nice. Really nice 4 lane boat ramp. Secondary dock for pick up additional passengers. There was a fish cleaning station at the access, so there was no need to transport fish in the livewell. Bait shop at the landing had ice and foam coolers to bring the catch home as well. ND did a terrific job putting this together. Well Done!

Henry Schmidt

Toulong Yang

We stayed on one of the more primitive camp sites and really enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Great camping. Large pull through spaces and many trees in the 100 loop. I only give this place 4 stars because there is not sewer hookup. Also, you can only book 2 1/2 months ahead of your stay.

cory kujawa

Nice state park. Would've got a 5 star if there were docks for boat. Have to launch and recover daily.

Jacob Denn

Beautiful place. Tons of boat parking, campsites, and places to fish.

Brittaney Carrillo

Ranger was really friendly and helpful. The park was so clean. I can't wait to take the family back in the summer.

Larry Pengilly

should be more clear on website that you cannot have a tent for adults and two for minor children on one site.

Great place to camp!

April Childress

We slid in a few days after Labor Day and found the park uncrowded, spic and span, and friendly. The bathhouse and showers were the best of any campground we've stayed in during our cross-country six-week trip! The primitive campsites, which you can drive to, are lovely and have access to the bathhouses.

Went fishing on Devils lake with Big John and had a blast caught 150 or more fish in the 3 days we were there. Love the history of the lake amazing.....

clint hartshorn

Very nice campground. My only complaint would be that they sell ONLY gas with ethanol which makes no sense with the amount of boaters that camp here.

Mandii Sturlaugson

Decent camping but not much else. No pool or extra activities away from your camping spot. About 12 miles away from City amenities so it's not close if you need or want something

Ronald Hunter

Outstanding RV park and boat ramp. Friendly and helpful park rangers.

Donald Scott

Huge, beautiful area. Well kept and clean.

Robert Bishop

This is a beautiful park.

Terry Ryon

Great campsite, great shower, clean grounds. If you need to purchase a vehicle daily entrance pass, be advised that they now charge for two days. 7x2 or $14. The pass expires at midnight! Left a bad taste for me. Won't be using ND's state campgrounds again.

Joshua White

Great place, great accommodations, clean, friendly, attentive, easy access, quiet!

Scott Kuczkowski

Great area with plenty of spots. Plus, they have full hook-ups.
