Wonderful! Beautiful! A must-see if you are in the area. Lovely landscaping with lush plantings and meandering trails. Several water features. The bonsai exhibit is spectacular. There's a small cafe on site that serves healthy and tasty food, much of it locally sourced. You can sit inside or out. A great way to enjoy nature and its delights.

Bren Knight

Awesome. Only $60 a year for annual membership! Beautiful trails. Safe. Lots of deer, wild turkeys, owls, hawks, to name a few. The people who collect money I now consider friends (especially Robert). Plenty of variety. You can either do the shorter garden trail or go hiking on longer trails. Plenty of creeks for thirsty dogs. Perfect!

Brad Schiesser

Perfect place to walk around and enjoy the day. We went on the summer but it wasn't too hot on the trails due to many being under the canopy of the woods. The hottest part was also the best. They had a display of bonsai trees of all different types including trees local to North Carolina! I had never seen anything like it and I was floored! Such a cool special exhibit.

Barbara Fackelman

Wow! The gardens are stunning. Creatively designed, awesome variety of plants and flowers. Great variety of trails. We'll be back again.

pat cree

It's beautiful, no doubt about it. Bonsai tree gardens and displays are especially wonderful. Hiking trails and outdoor areas offer great scenery.. and exercise to boot.

cindy vieira

It was nice for first week of october. Going to head back in the spring when everything is blooming

Louis Hoger

Very nice. On Oct 6, really too late for almost all flowers. Bonsai exhibit is awesome; not just Asian.

nancy ritchey

The arboretum is awesome! Lovely gardens that are always changing with the season. Fun lights during the holidays too.

Luciano Pereira de Souza

Beautiful place! Many good trails for hiking.

Vance Fielding

Great Trails, mixed use hiking, biking, walking. Well maintained.

Robyn Nienstedt

Excellent back packs for children. Well labeled. Wish the train and bonsai bathrooms would have been open.

Dennis Joslin

Absolutely gorgeous place! Beautiful gardens with outstanding nature/hiking trails to explore. A place you have to visit if you're in the area!

Hal Cottingham

This place is tucked away perfectly from the city. The grounds are perfectly manicured. The learning center is staffed with people who truly care about their environment. The little cafe cooks locally sourced foods and they do a fantastic job at it. The little Bonsai tree forest is really cool to check out. Plenty of flowers around and beauty everywhere!

Derek Moore

Lots of paths to walk, run, take the dogs for a walk. It is a very nice area to go to if you are visiting in the area. The trails were kept clean and some paths were very wide if you have large groups. It's near the mountains so it can become steep at some points. Make sure to bring water and snack if you plan on going far. The map makes it seem like its a small park, but it's big enough where you can spend the entire day there without walking on the same path.

Bj Jj

Lovely and interesting garden plus hiking trails. Charges by the car, so bring the family and friends for one rate.

Tony P

Awesome day on the trails and got to see a train setup.

Margaretta Moreno

Awesome experience. Beautiful sculptures on the grounds. Chrissy in the visitor was first class.

David Davis

The best I have ever visited. The Bonsai trees were exceptional.

Richard Gass

Excellent place to take a quiet walk through the gardens or hike on their trails.

Jennifer Scogin

I absolutely LOVE this place! It's beautiful at all times throughout the year. The staff is wonderful also. They take the time to answer many questions from plant geeks like myself and give helpful suggestions about the best way to see the arboretum. We recently attended Arbor Evenings, which was a lot of fun!

Alex Kad

Incredibly beautiful place to get engagement pictures, even wedding photos. Biltmore Estate charges $1,500 to get wedding photos done on location (if you do not get married on location), here it will cost you just a one time pass, but when you see how majestic it is you will probably get an annual pass. (I had permission to photograph engaged couples at Biltmore Estate and security tried to run me off even though I explained that I had permission, very embarrassing if you ask me with couple standing right next to you as security explains that you can't be on the grounds with a professional camera). If I was to compare Biltmore Estate beauty to this place I would say they are about equal. Here everything is closer together, lots of benches, and Biltmore has very few benches compared to here and you have to do a lot of walking. People here are much more friendlier then at Biltmore Estate, the staff. Being a photographer I do not know if I will have issues at Biltmore, so this is my first choice that I will offer my Brides to get engagement pictures done. I highly recommend. I live an hour away and will be coming back here often. They have a lot of benches, lots of shade. Even a miniature train that runs on rails to see.

Maximilian Upp

Beautiful. We will be back! Stopped in here on our way through town and loved it. The bonsai garden was amazing and the general layout was just so cool. They had a plant sale too and we got to leave with a couple great lil plant babies! The staff was very helpful. Parking is a lil steep but the actual arboretum is free. We made the mistake of parking at the back of the parking lot as well. You enter from the back so make sure to drive all the way up.

Dee Santorini

We took the free tour through the arboretum, and had trees and plants identified, and a history of where things came from... Very nice!! But know...the tour was about 2 hrs long.

Sue McQueen

Season pass is the way to go. Lots of trails to hike. Gardens to contemplate in, bistro to feed the belly. Dogs allowed on all trails but not in gardens. Bent Creek runs through property, nice to take a break and get your toes wet. Maps and call boxes on well maintained trails. Located off Brevard road entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Love this place.

Tiffany Buckner

What can I say? It's a huge garden that's really pretty. They've done a great job with this place and have decent programs for children... This was our first time visiting the Arboretum although we live in the area... We first entered the Baker Exhibit Center to borrow some backpacks with nature "discovery" tools in them and get a map of the gardens. We were warned we'd have to return the backpack in an hour (by 4:30) because the buildings closed at 5... We were unaware of that but proceeded anyway because our kids wanted them so bad. They each had binoculars, a butterfly net, and a plastic container with magnifying glass for bugs. There may have been other things but that's all that the 3 of them took out. We first came to a gift shop with things for sale and an area with beautiful nature inspired artwork for sale... Outside this building was a greenhouse with plants for sale. All of this being our first stop made us a little concerned about whether this would actually be a beautiful garden to enjoy or just a marketing and sales effort. PROS: It ended up being a lot of beautiful gardens after all and some nice hiking trails. Our kids LOVED the "Play Garden" which was an open area in the woods with lots of sticks, bamboo, cool stumps, a 'balance beam', TP's, wooden benches, and what our kids called a par core course. They liked this area, the trails, and the fountains the best. CONS: The map was a bit confusing so we went back and forth from the standard map to the child's "hotspot" map to find our way around. Otherwise we would have missed a lot. The little train set with Thomas the Train was cute... Not nearly as big of a setup as I had imagined but cute... Our kids enjoyed the woods more than the gardens but we didn't stay on the trails long so they were upset. We LIVE in the mountains so we can play in the woods and hike trails in our backyard all day long... That wasn't what we came for. If you aren't from the area you might enjoy this with your kids though! Our kids were so excited to see and catch some butterflies with their nets. Somehow we only saw 1 the whole time though. We saw a few lizards near the Bonsai Garden but the only other things we saw were bees. The timing on our end was horrible... It was way too hot out there and the buildings were closing so we could only cool off once (while returning the backpacks).

Steve Whiteway

After the great food, breweries, art and music of Asheville, the arboretum was the perfect place to spend our last morning in the area. Beautiful gardens, fun hiking trails, more art and sculpture, and a really great gift shop made for a wonderful morning.

Russell Wallace

Beautiful "oasis" of native and other plants. Peaceful and relaxing. Interesting educational displays. Classes and seminars available. Nature trails. Great for kids. Nice gift shop. TIP: If you live nearby, and are going to visit more than 1-2 times/year, buy a membership. It's much cheaper!

Travelling First

This is a really beautiful garden. Lots of beautiful flowers around! Amazing place for nature lovers! Nicely maintained. The Bonsai garden is one of the unique exhibit we saw in this place and it was amazing! Most of the exhibits closes around 4 or 5 pm. The garden closes at 9 pm and the entrance closes at 8 pm. So plan ahead if you wanna visit the exhibits that closes at 4-5 pm. Visitor center also closes around that time. Entrance is $15 for each vehicle and $1 off for AAA members. In overall this is great location to spent some relax time.

Joe Wooten

This is my third visit and has yet to disappoint. The beautiful grounds are plush with all manner of beautiful plants and decorative landscape features. You'll be amazed at the variety of flowers and trees available for viewing. A great place for a casual stroll taking in the rich scenery. A definite must see!

Alan Schmid

Perfect weather today and a fantastic spot. We simply wandered the gardens, had a bite at the bistro and wandered some more. We'll be back to home in the fall!

Noah Rogers

Beautiful gardens and facilities! We went later in the afternoon, so the buildings were closed, and wish they would have offered a cheaper option for "after hours" since you don't get to see as much. All in all, it seemed like a great learning and viewing facility for both students and visitors.

Anne Mehrling

The planting we're beautiful, and they were clearly labeled.

Rinku Kalita

It was a thorough experience. Although it was a scorching afternoon, we managed a couple of hours in the arboretum and then went for a trail to the stream. The hikes are pebbly and one need good shoes not the regular sports ones as there are climbs in certain hikes. There is a mini train just for viewing and ot depicts the how that area was served and connected in 1900's. The shop inside the visitor building sells many hand made products and souvenirs. The gardens next to the visitor building showcased many local flowering plants and non-stop flowering shrubs. The trails are pretty naturistic and the stream that we went along was flowing in full form. There is enough parking but the parking fees for one are us $14 which I felt is on the higher side. We would have enjoyed the place more if it wasn't that hot. Go on the morning or later in the evening . Better to go in early spring or early fall. Since we were traveling by, we didn't have a choice but it was worth the effort.

Terry Willis

Beautifully landscaped and tranquil surroundings. Well maintained gardens. Such a pleasure to go there.

Vivianette Ortiz

Only explored part of it. Its very big. Cant wait to go back for the whole day. Great customer service.

Maresa Ricoca

It is a very beautiful and peaceful place, I am glad I went, I will have to go again, I strongly recommend it

John Melo

I really enjoyed this place alongside with my family. It had a great scenery and an abundance of attractions. This place is of a pretty good size, bit towards the smaller end of things but considering the price is $14 (per car) then it becomes clear that it's a great price and experience.

Richard Schaffer

Outstanding place to take friends and family for a hike! Beautiful facilities. Make a point to see the Bonsais. Multiple trails of varying difficulty, but plenty for all to enjoy. Cafe has nice snacks, sandwiches, and even local brews for purchase.

Ashwin Mallam

This was truly a surprise. Don’t forget to visit the Azalea garden while you are here!

David Mitchusson

I typically don't have high expectations for winter lights at places like this after an underwhelming visit to one in Savannah, BUT! this place was awesome! Very well decorated. Beautiful lights and venue. Highly recommend! We even did it in the rain and it was still great!

Ted Bradley

The Arboretum is a treat for anyone that loves the outdoors and for all ages. Well manicured trails and gardens and events throughout the year. The cafe is great, but limited hours. Would be excellent to extend the cafe hours on Friday and Saturday to early evenings.

Joey Martin

This place is amazing to just get out into the wilderness with the trails and still not feel far from civilization. The many different gardens are a peaceful and breathtaking experience to walk through. So much to see and learn. You can different take your time and make a day out of it. So much fun!

Kim W

Very pretty gardens. Not dog friendly, or kid friendly either. The education center had nothing in it but art for sale and empty classrooms. Not a place I would go as a family again.

David Carillet

Peaceful, colorful place. I've visited many times over a period of about 20 years, and it's been fun to see the landscaping grow. Many of the smaller plants and installations are changed periodically (such as the Quilt Garden) or bloom at different times, so there's usually something new to enjoy during different seasons.

Kimberly Drexel

We brought our dog and had a fabulous time. There's tons of trails to explore and even several areas to wade in a creek. The gardens were beautiful as well. I really enjoyed seeing Carolina native plants being showcased. A must see!

Tim Wheaton

This place you can walk around for hours and not see everything. The flowers are beautiful as well as a bonsai garden with numerous bonsai trees to see. Birds are abundant as well as squirrels. I'll definitely be back again. I highly recommend stopping here.

Kathryn Mueller

The gardens are beautiful, there are wonderful trails to hike and we always find a special plant in their shop for our garden.

chris hamman

Certainly worth a visit if you love the outdoors. Today it was about 88 degrees, mid July.

Kaitlyn Griffin

Came here for a wedding and it was BEAUTIFUL. I loved all the flowers and it was VERY well kept. Can't wait to come back with my daughter and husband. Looking forward to checking out the gift shop.

Hammer J. Helmer

Went here for the lights at Christmas with my family. Was very well organized, and they deliver a great evening for a fair ticket price. The parking was easy and close, with attendants that kept it fast moving and orderly. The grounds were beautiful, the lights are all led and are bright and vibrant. They have two places you can buy light snacks and hot coffee or hot chocolate. The miniature outdoor model train is turned into the polar express, nice touch!

Bogdan Dusa

If you enjoy acres of gardens, you'll love this place. It's also a nice place to walk, places to sit and even have a picnic lunch. Very quiet and peaceful place. Loved the G-Scale (garden scale) model train Rocky Cove Railroad Exhibit. Don't miss the Bonsai Garden.

Nick Greene

Only spent about an hour there but really nice layout and plants/trees. The bonsai exhibit was really neat to see.

Jay Buehler

Beautiful flowers and bonsai. Lots of easy hiking. Healthy cafe.

Elliot Cooper

Wow. This place is HUGE and completely amazing! Unfortunately we visited about a week before the azaleas were in full bloom, but walking the grounds was peaceful and enriching. 1st Tuesday of the month is half price, btw!

Thomas Shoemaker

A variety of natural Flora, educational, relaxing winding pathways.

Paul and Lillian Bruns

We weren't sure to to expect here, but this was a great place to visit for half a day. We stopped at the information center and they were very helpful explaining it all. The gardens were barren when we visited in winter, but there were still great views. We hiked several miles through trails that were well marked and maintained. We saw tons of children at the learning center for an event. The gift shop was very crafty. We visited for half of a day and had a good time and got to see a good mix of things.

Michael Richards

Very cool place to walk around. We went in the evening in April and the gnats were annoying, so bug spray might have made it better. If we did it again, we'd go earlier so we could go to the bonzai portion, which closes earlier. But the actual arboretum was very well maintained and we spent a couple of hours walking around and looking at things we could plant in our own yard!

Jack Stephens

This is simply a wonderful and beautiful place. It is always kept up to very high standards. Their hiking trails are top notch. They also feature some incredible exhibits. I highly recommend going here.

Ashley Allen

Gorgeous grounds, so many amazing things to see. Well worth the parking price.

Gina Greene

Just fell in love. Everything was beautiful.

Jeffrey DeCristofaro

A beautiful place to visit and explore - good trails, beautiful gardens, unique exhibitions, and more! Great for family activities, weddings, modeling shoots, and other social activities! Best times to visit are the spring and fall!!

Larry A.

Great day out with your family. Lots to do and explore. Wear good walking shoes.

Virginia Stockwell

Love love! Possibly the most well maintained public gardens I've ever visited. I feel like you would go numerous times and see something new each visit. There's also bike trails and hiking. Did I mention that I loved it! Pet and kid friendly.

Charity Bonapfel

Great place to walk around and take in nice weather in a beautiful, peaceful environment. We took young kids, who thoroughly enjoyed the Thomas the Train exhibit (on Tuesdays) and it gave them a chance to walk around / release some energy. The Bonsai exhibit is spectacular. I have never seen such a large, well kept collection, especially outdoors. Entry is free, parking is paid but it is worth the money!

Susan

Always lots of fun. The bonsai exhibit is our favorite.

Travis Goldie

Wonderful place to visit. We hiked for hours and then visited the gardens. This has always been a place to relax and recover.

Helen Moran

Their summer flowers were uncommon and arranged to show color relationships... a trail with trees marked... information booth well stocked

Dave Barrett

Great visit here! Will visit again I'm sure. Right off the blue ridge parkway, so easy visit if you are traveling thru on that. Easy to spend all day here, need to see all seasons. Good kid activities from time to time so check when you go.

Joe Veneziano

Beautiful, well kept trails, lovely gardens, and tasty offerings from their bistro. Great value for the money. Very dog friendly.

Tanner Hock

The landscape found at the end of the lengthy approach road was, unfortunately, incommensurate with the impressive gatehouse and entry fee. In short, the gardens were underwhelming. Some interesting plants but nothing of significant scale, design, or interest (with the exception of the Bonsai). The forest trails were nice but are more what one expects to find along a hiking trial, not in an arboretum. The Baker exhibit center offered banal architecture and a mostly empty interior. The influence of Fredrick Law Olmsted was difficult to intuit and not clearly defined (although prominently marked by a nice statue of him). Biltmore arboretum, Sarah P Duke gardens in Durham, or even the arboretum at UNC-CH are vastly superior. I’d like to see more development here. With more work this arboretum could be on par with the aforementioned and become a truly special place!

Robert Freiberg

I went for the trails. Spent an extra hour going in circles because of bad signage. Please take the $14 I paid to get in and paint some blazes. Hundreds of other trail options that are better marked and free. Lesson learned. Nice walk along a creek.

Victoria McGillin

Wonderful bonsai collection. Good educational gardens. Shaded seating in the beastly heat!

Dawn Korth

The North Carolina Aboritum is a beautiful place to visit!!!! The native plants are gorgeous!!!! There are hiking trails galore and they are in excellent condition!!! You can even bring your 4 legged kids for a day of family fun!!! They are just not allowed in the buildings.....

Bonnie Robinson

This is such a beautifully designed and maintained space. The outdoor trails and gardens are spectacular, especially in the spring. (There was very little growing in the winter.) We love the bonsai trees. The kids enjoy the indoor exhibits.

John Lupfer

Nice walking trails and manicured gardens. The bonsai tree exhibit was great!

Sra. Del Hoyo

This place was a bit disappointing. It looks like it's a big place with a whole bunch of displays and interesting plants but the best part of the whole arboretum is the bonsai display. Everything else is just plain boring. When you go there is just a well maintained everyday garden. I would not recommend it at all.

Janice Jackson

Amazing place! Wonderful evening listening to the beautiful music of Liz and Elizabeth!

Figure Itout

Pretty and well kept. Thank you for the pleasant visit. This isn't something everyone will be into especially kids.

Mark Barber

Fantastic place we'll be visiting again.. Asheville treated us with much hospitality we're grateful as we're headed back to Athens Tennessee.

Marjorie Pokorny

Nice Arboretum, but I think early October is the wrong time to visit. Things were rather brown and drive. Nice assortment of bonsai trees.

Lisa McCullough

Beautiful gardens, manicured and natural. Peaceful. Easy parking, access for wheelchair. Borrowed a wheelchair for Mom: thank you! Will revisit!

Rory Mattheisen

Fun place good layout, gift shop staff could learn some manners though and the basics of customer service. Pretty lucky I didn't hear them ushering my family out the door while I was at the register buying things. Would have been a 4 star trip if it wasn't for the way it ended.

Sachin Shah

Very nice, easy walks while being surrounded by nature.

Jennifer Hardesty

Absolutely beautiful and educational. Lots of photography opportunities. Clean, well-maintained hiking trails. Delicious cafe with very reasonably priced dishes. Gift and plant shop is a must!

Trent Thomas

Beautiful peaceful spot convienently located just outside of town adjacent to Blue Ridge Parkway

Rebecca Steiner

very pretty, well-maintained. quilt garden still being planted. parking was easy to find. $1 off parking with a Triple A card. It was pretty hot the day we went but still fun to walk around. Kid friendly. Not dog friendly. Do not miss the Bonsai garden. Volunteers/garden staff friendly, answered questions.

Matt Stucky578

What a beautiful place to spend an afternoon in! If you're in Asheville, take a few hours to relax, enjoy the flowers, and hike through the trees.

Mary Baker

Absolutely most beautiful, The North Carolina Arboretum is most definitely a peaceful place for a stroll. Upon entry, one sees a babbling little brook following the road to the entrance parking lot. There's a beautiful display of rotating art upon entering the building. The gift shop is more adorable with several nice parting gifts. The grounds are well laid out and designed. It's a place we shall visit year after year.

ceiara cartony

We love spending hours here browsing the beautiful property. Even during the winter when the plants and flowers aren't bloomed the park is well kept and enjoyable. The science and art exhibits are always a highlight to every visit. We haven't seen the train going in 7 months, hoping that it will be back running soon!

Linda Simonpietri

We saw an amazing Bonsai display, and a colorful paper art display. Did 't get to see more, because of the rain. Had we seen more, may have rated a 5.

Ellie Kerr

You can get free parking if you have a reciprocal garden pass! The trails are nice and you can easily get lost in them. It was nice and shaded, which I appreciated on a hot summer day. There's a creek that runs through the park that you can dip your feet in to cool off.

Janet Hill

LOVELY! Very nice, loads of easy walking paths, ADA friendly. Visiting Asheville in August and there was shade and loads of beautiful plants & flowers. I'm recommending to family and friends. Check out the unique gift shop.

Abbey Hess

Such a beautiful piece of nature! Things were maintained but not unnaturally manicured. There are miles of beautiful woodlands for long walks and appreciating the outdoors. So valuable.

Brian Misnuner

A great place for the whole family to experience the outdoors. The hiking trails are all relatively easy and fun for all ages. The gardens also offer a lot and make for wonderful visit.

Sherrie Hatheway

Beautiful! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Would love to go back when we have time to walk some of the trails.

Stephanie Merrell

just had our wedding there May 23, 2019 and it was amazing! Kate Beck was easy to contact ,also when she was not available she always had someone close by that was ready to help.

E Cohan

Great garden area and lots of pretty trails to enjoy...

Tony Nguyen

This place is bigger then expected. We walk and walk and walk! There is many things to see and any great picture moments. I would recommend this place if your in town. There are bikers and joggers that goes here on the norm. Plenty of nature for you to take in.

Jessica Winniford

On a cool day, this is the best place to be. I'm hoping to go back and explore the many trails and biking paths they have on the property. The bistro food was delightful and the gardens are just inspiring. Definitely a great place to go while in Asheville.

Stormy Dowdell

Had great trails. Bonsai exhibit was awesome

Cory H

The North Carolina Arboretum is a beautiful place to visit, well worth the parking fee. The gardens are beautifully maintained, it's easy to get around, and very educational.

Jim Cunningham

Beautiful gardens with most paths very easy to walk. Will be getting a membership to visit much more often!

Sarah Linder

We only had a short time to spend there but enjoyed our wander thru the near gardens, especially the tree sized holly and the rain barrel installations. Parking is $14, no admission fee.

Fran Cameron

Beautiful. Loved the bonsai garden. Very peaceful place. Great gift shop

Subhash

Place is well maintained. Very relaxing. Enjoyed flowers, plants, bonsai. Was in a hurry and could only spend few hours, but wish could have spent nore if i could. You pay for parking ($14/car), no other fee.

William H Adams IV

Great Bonsai exhibit and a wonderful place to go for some nature hiking.

Andy Hill

Very much exceeded my expectations, this place has a lot of visual beauty to offer. Parking is a flat rate per day, and trails exist everywhere. Access to mountain trails is close by as well.

S Jones

Peaceful hiking, nice benches to sit and enjoy the beauty, very beautiful.

David Breitsprecher

Gorgeous venue for our daughter's wedding. The grounds are simply breathtaking.

Steve Mika

Very nice place to hike, even in late March / early April. Stop at the welcome desk and pick up Junior Naturalist backpacks to entertain the kids! They can catch bugs in their container, look at birds and animals thru binoculars, and chase moths and butterflies with their net. We attempted to catch critters in the stream - unsuccessfully. The cafe has limited but satisfying options, including for kids.

Faith Little

Beautiful, peaceful and happy place. My friend took me there today and I loved it!

Claudia F

Beautiful scenes, bonsai gardens were cute, gift shop have something for everyone at reasonable prices. Staff was friendly and helpful. Facility is clean and accessible. This place is great for any venue, for a nice walk and relax, for learning too. At this time of our visit there was a nice and colorful paper exposition . Very enjoyable. Only fee is parking .

Sara Barrett

I would give 10 stars if I could!!! What a beautiful place to spend the day for the entire family. So much more to see and do than you would expect. The highlight for our 9 year old daughter was the exploration back pack they loan kids upon request at the info desk. It had a butterfly net, a big cage, binoculars, and check lists for a nature scavenger hunt. She used all of the supplies and had a ball! Endless trails with sculptures nestled among beautiful landscaping. AND, dont worry about your appetite, because their cafe has delectable lunch options including a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with local preserves as the topper!! I WOULD suggest more menu options for kiddos, but that is the only suggestion. Dont change anything else!!!! We truly loved our experience! Clean bathrooms, too, and the gift shop has VERY reasonably priced items. AND they have great art exhibits!!!!

Eva Terry

Absolutely gorgeous. The details, the variety, the peaceful beauty, artistry at every turn. Must see.

Joe

Great place to visit. You can spend the entire day there between the gardens and hiking trails. I would just be aware of the trails. I think they could be better marked.

Hillel Konigsburg

Beautiful gardens, and clear and easy trails. There was also a model train exhibit which entertained the kiddo for a little bit

Susan Jameson

Beautiful gardens, lots of variety, nice hiking trail. Bonsai exhibit very interesting. Great gift shop!

Karin Ahrenholz

The paths are well maintained and the plant markers are nice when trying to identify plants. It's clean, quiet and beautiful for a walk or just Stoll or read a book. It's nice to see the changes and improvements each year.

Iris Webb

Gorgeous place. Shady paths, musical art, fountains and mountains of flowers. They even have a bonsai collection. It is a peaceful place.

JOHN ESAU

Beautifully laid-out and spectacularly maintained Arboretum. We’ve been there twice before, and will go back.

Penny Carter

The North Carolina Arboretum improves each time we go. Please recognize that adjacent colors are not attractive. Complementary colors are much more attractive and artistic.

Joshua Belangia

It was calming and very open for those who want to see there favorite plant or flower in full bloom. Today is 07062019 and everything was in full bloom

Jon Orbach

An absolutely lovely and sprawling park with miles of hiking trails, tons of different species of plants, and a bonsai garden I've seen again and again and still enjoy. :)

David Brown

This place is a gem among gems! It's planned nature at it's best. The permanent displays and nature trails are enough. But the rotating attractions are supremely well designed, and always mesh art and nature, and often history perfectly.

Alvester Kizzie

They have a staff that is helpful to visitors learning about NC plants and trees. They are professional and friendly. A great place to visit.

Harrison Henke

This place is beautiful and always a pleasure to visit. Don't miss it if you're in AVL!

Ken Bain

Karen and our Siberian husky (Kira) all had a great hike at The Arboretum today. Kira loves the water which is shallow in most of the area. We will make more trips in the Arboretum till the snow arrives in the winter.

Liz Day

We spent a couple of hours here one evening as our car was being worked on. My kids loved the play woods section. Looking forward to coming back again so we can explore the buildings (we didn't arrive til after 5, and they all close between 4 and 5) and see the train in action! (The train evidently runs on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays)
