REVIEWS OF North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island IN North Carolina

Alison Carter

Awesome aquarium. Can't praise it enough! It was clean, the exhibits were great, staff was friendly, and there were a lot of animals that our big aquarium back home doesn't have. Definitely worth it.

Janessa Palmer

It was an excellent trip for a rainy obx day. The crowds were a little big, but the aquarium seemed to have plenty of space exactly where it needed it. The atmosphere of each exhibit was quite different and enjoyable in its own way, although I will say there is a quite dark 'sunken ship' part that got quite narrow and dark. The outside grounds was one of my favorite aspects, just having some green space to explore and stretch our legs in. Great playground for kids, pollinator garden, and observation deck on the shore. We enjoyed the sea turtle rescue exhibit a lot, as it was so interactive and wonderful to see 'behind the scenes' of that work.

Tracey Krska

Good place to visit when the weather isn't great or you've got too much sunburn! Jellyfish super interesting to watch! Big thanks to see shark and other types of serious aquatic life.

Bella Atkins

The aquarium is quite small compared to others. There are about ten attractions/exhibits of fish to see. It took us about 45 to 1hr to go through the whole aquarium. Not an all day trip at all. Staff is friendly and helpful though and gift shop is nice!

Deb van Helmond

A small but wonderful aquarium. The exhibits are beautiful and creative. The outside area is also very nice, with a beautiful pier and an area to dig for shark teeth and other marine fossils. Entry fee was very reasonable, as was the gift shop.

Karmai Lita

Cute place. Really enjoyed seeing the sea turtle rehabilitation area.

matticus bunnz

Awesome. Great turtle rehab walkthrough and interactive activity center for children. Love the digital displays with animal info.

Christine

This was a cool Aquarium to visit with our 5 year of daughter who was fascinated. They have little bit of every species that you would found near the water. We loved the turtle recovery room they have and the child stimulating room. And we love how you can interact with some of the sea Ife creatures and the huge tank with the sharks in it. They have gorgeous outside views as well definitely if you think on getting married it would be gorgeous.

Gabriel Young

They had some really cool exhibits and statues. Right on the water, great atmosphere. Its a smaller aquarium than others i have been to but they were rally creative in how they but some of their exhibits together, like creating a sunken ship environment, which was really fun.

Torre Matthew

Not impressed at all. Tiny aquarium. They're trying their best. Would feel better if it didn't cost $50+ for two adults and two kids.

Sarah Wincovich

Fun place to take the family. There is an outdoor area where kids can learn about birds, make noise like a woodpecker and there is a small obstacle course that my 4yr old enjoyed. The aquarium itself has a lot of tanks with a wide variety of fish and crustaceans. There is a very cool exhibit on the USS Monitor, which was the 1st US ironclad ship, witha short video. There is a jelly fish room, shark tank, sea otters, and a hands on gallery where you can touch Ray's and small sharks, as well as horseshoe crabs, sea snails and anemone. My favorite area is the sea turtle rehab area. You can see different sea turtles up close as they are recovering from various injuries. We happened to go on a Homeschooling day and so there were a lot of staff and volunteers doing demonstrations and available to answer questions.

Meaghan Nicole

Awesome experience! Excellent prices! Friendly people! I went 2 baltimore aquarium but stopped 10years ago because of the ridiculous prices. This aquarium is all around great.

Carrie Boyd

OMG this has been the best experience that me and my family had. We really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was on point with everything and the place was so beautiful.

Theresa Bartholomew

My kids liked the turtle activity where you go through the process to treat and rehabilitate and then release. They have added a lot of new video features too. Overall though it’s pretty small considering how popular the Outer Banks is.

Daniel Moody

Came here with a 4 year old and had a blast. Also came as an adult with my wife and had a blast. The turtle rehab is incredibly interesting.

Pamela Carlisle

It's not much compared to other aquariums but enough to be interesting and engaging. They also breed sea turtles which I am very pleased to know.

Sharon Cannon

Good for grown ups & kids!! Great gift store too. Lots of interactive things for kids.

Sonia Graves

Loved the atmosphere and the staff there were very pleasant. This was my God grandson's first visit, and all he had his heart set on were the sharks. He's happy now.

mr. P.

It is a nice place. It take about an hour to walk through, possibly 1 1/2 hours if you have kids. The staff are friendly, as are the aquatic life. Molly the otter is spunky. And the sharks will stare you down. End it all with a great view of the sound off their peer. Perfect for a rainy day, or regular day alike. You won't be disappointed.

Christina Clabo

Small, but still alot to see& the shark tank was a good size with plenty of sharks to watch. Had a great time seeing everything there& the jelly fish tanks were awesome. Well worth the $13 per adult.

Devan Overbay

So much fun. Friendly staff. Great family place to go.

N Lock

This was my first time at the aquarium. I've got to say this was the time of my life!!! The sea turtle rescue exhibit was something to see and the shark tank?! Oh man I felt like a kid again. Prices are cheap and perfect for an afternoon outing. Will hopefully be back soon.

716 Breaks and Toys

We have been here every year we visit OBX and love it more each time

Stephanette Schwartz-Smith

Great aquarium for kids. Lots of activities. Reasonable price.

Kristina Crews

An amazing aquarium - great staff and volunteers. The N.E.S.T. program is so important. Please visit here and know the depth of our impact on this Earth.

justin

Perhaps it's because we were there towards the end of the day, but it seemed a little small. Decent displays though of rescued turtles, albino alligator and other animals, but it just felt too small. They do have a good station for the kids to feel stingrays, which is pretty cool and any time you can educate young minds is a good thing. Check it out if you're in the area, but make sure to have other things to do to fill your day.

Dave Martin

A truly great aquarium. One of the best parts was the amazing sea turtle rehabilitation center. Really cool to meet with people so passionate about there work. And it was extremely inexpensive.

Ashley Ann

Always very satisfied! It's a fun stop for adults and kids alike. The walk thru the aquarium culminates in the shark exhibit which is always a huge hit with my little one. ☺

Brandon Yustince

Fun activity for a day out of the sun during our beach vacation. Lots of great exhibits. Really nice selection of creatures on display. Nice gift shop.

Jennifer Mizak

Loved the aquarium! Fave part was watching the Sharks with my daughter! And also looking at and hearing about all the Sea Turtles and their rescue and rehabilitation! Great memories!

Michelle Babcock

We attended breakfast with the Stingrays at the aquarium and it was wonderful! My kids (8 and 9 years) were fully engaged and enthusiastic about feeding and touching the rays. The time spent seeing the behind the scenes equipment was neat too! The aquarium is ideal for an experience with kids. Shark tank diver talk, the touch pools, turtle hospital and more were all excellent.

Kelly Murphy

We LOVE this place!!! Our favorite part is the sting rays.... you get to pet them! Everything in the aquarium is beautiful. Staff are very friendly. The sea turtle sanctuary is awesome as well. You can really get close, no touching, but really see them up close. The dinosaur trail is also a must. Little ones really enjoy it. All in all, it’s a good activity when it’s too hot, rainy, or just need to relax.

Nathan Frazee

This aquarium was amazing. The place was great and had a lot of fun interactive activities for our 3 year old. Everything was clean and the staff very nice. Loved the large tank with bigger sharks in it. We live in Boston and feel this aquarium is better than ours! Highly recommend!

Muriel Longstaff Siddoway

I LOVED this aquarium!!! From the moment we stepped in I was impressed. We went to a sea turtle lecture— the educator was great with kids and even brought around a baby sea turtle for everyone to look at. I learned so much about why they are endangered and how I can personally contribute in helping them out. There was a shark feeding show (free after admission), jellyfish, and even a manta ray petting pool. It was insightful and inspiring. This was actually one of my favorite sites in the whole of the Outer Banks. I LOVED this aquarium so much!!

Crystal Updike

Wonderful educational and entertaining. Able to touch stingrays horseshoe crabs and hermit crabs. Can walk through rehab for turtles area and learn about what they're doing to save them.

ERIC STEELE

Love this aquarium. Today was donate a blood get in for free. The aquarium is so worth the 13 dollar price anyways. Alligator feeding way so cool. The sea turtles they rescue is so good.

Pat Pruitt

Had a great time bringing our infant there! Nice place to take a break from the sun and beach.

Kevin Buehler

What a great place to visit, especially for kids. It is really neat to see all the fish, reptiles, sharks, etc. They even have a petting tank where you can touch different sea creatures and stingrays. If you go on a rainy day it will be more crowed then usual. They usually have a food truck outside too.

Tony W.

Very clean and well acquainted. Prices are more than reasonable. Would definitely recommend

Richard Willias

Very nice and well marked displays. In addition to sea life they have venomous snakes, alligators and turtles. Really enjoyed talking to the people working in the sea turtle rehabilitation area. There is a nice gift shop and large outdoor area.

Mark Maleski

Nice place for the family. Good variety of creatures. 90% indoors.

Emma Tucker

Very interesting and engaging location. Exhibits and information for all ages, both inside and outside. Very clean and well-maintained.

River Lily

I rather enjoyed this aquarium, perfect way to spend a rainy day. (If you'd like to see a video walk thru SEARCH on youtube " river lily obx aquarium") There was a great deal to see. Petting the sting rays was my favorite part. Staff was friendly, place was clean.

Kim Arrants

5 Stars plus is what I would like to give this aquarium. We have visited several times over the years and have always had a great experience. We usually start our vacation here with a quick visit. However, this year we decided to spend the day here for our son's 10th birthday. He loves animals in general but, has a love for otters. I called a couple of weeks prior to our visit to see if we might be able to talk to someone who cares for the otters. In the mean time I signed our family up for the kayaking around the sound. We were looking forward to this but, the wind had other ideas and they had to cancel. However, we enjoyed a great crabbing experience off the dock. They had a sign for his birthday as well. We also were able to meet Mrs. Connie who gave her undivided attention to our son and listened to his questions he had about otters. This happened before our crabbing adventure. After coming back inside our son received an original painting from Finn the otter. He loves his gift and I am sure he will remember this birthday for years to come. Thanks for loving sea life and other animals and sharing that love and appreciation with your guest. We love the aquarium even more now knowing that they will go the extra mile for their guest.

David Decker

Very informative and interactive displays, along with super awesome staff and volunteers who were knowledgeable and helpful. There is a lot of variety in aquatic life here, and you can easily spend 3 - 4 hours casually strolling through and taking your time to soak it in. My favorite part of this aquarium is the sea turtle rehabilitation center.

Vikki Flesher

Great for children and adults. The exhibits are very interesting. Great family fun.

Jenny

Great rain or shine place to entertain the family for a few hours. Indoor and outdoor activities, additional educational programs and a lovely gift shop. The tanks are clean and full of interesting fish/reptiles with infographics. There are several themed exhibits, and a lovely view of the Sound.

Melanie Gossard

Took my grandgirls there. They had a blast and we enjoyed watching them explore and learn about the wildlife from the area. There is an albino alligator there. Girls were fascinated.

GlenandCindy Stark

Great place to visit. Great for smaller children with lots of activities.... Food service available. Nice gift store. No ATM though.... Had fun. Will be back.

Sarah Royer

Love this aquarium every time we come to outer banks we make a point to stop here

Amanda Duke

Great family spot, lots of educational info and I love the interactive exhibits. We go to the aquarium every visit to Manteo.

Luis Santiago

I've been to a few other aquariums. Mandalay Bay, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, and Virginia beach. So by comparison...its smaller. I get it. The price matches that so kudos to that. There were a couple trails outside that were shut off and not ready. Figured they would be by tourist season. It was crowded. Anything that was slightly interesting, u had to fight a crowd of people to even get a peek. Again not a bad aquarium. Good way to waste 3 hours or so but nothing too memorable either.

Kare Nicholas

Great place for the whole family, we especially loved the sensory area and the sea turtle rehab. Aquarium was very pricey however that's why I'm only giving it 4 stars. It shouldn't cost a family of 4 $70 to go through an aquarium that takes less than an hour in my opinion.

Linda Nordstrom

Interactive and educational. Great for children and adults alike. Sea Turtle hospital was fascinating, as well as the "touch tanks". Intern docent was very informative and helpful. Dont forget to take the outdoor walk to learn about birds and see pollinators in pollinator garden. Children will love it!

Rebecca Lewis

Went here with my family and friends a few days ago and as always had a great time! The sealife there is always beautiful and amazing to experience, especially the otters, and the staff are friendly and always ready to answer any questions you have and give you interesting facts about the sea creatures! Loved it all!!!

D V B

Staff is friendly. Plenty to see for a small aquarium . we wanted to see the otters swimming around but they were sleeping so that was a bummer. The dock on the sound outside has beautiful views. But be careful if you go outside into the butterfly garden. They have a small bee hive. Not sure what kind of bees they were but my husband got stung on his neck . lol. Otherwise . we had a good time. And especially loved seeing the turtle rehabilitation center.

Mark Dixon

Must do. The aquatic life is engaging with the visitors. With beautiful views the family want to go back daily.

Tina Spinda

Interacting activities. Awesome interior. So clean and entertaining.

Michael Harris

Really cool aquarium! Up close to sharks and other animals is a unique experience. Great trip while visiting the outer banks!

andrea S

About 14.00 per adult and abot 12 for kids. Worth the price, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Many new updates and turtle care center. Clean and well maintained.

Katie Ricotta

I really liked the live demonstrations. The aquarium itself was really small. It isn't worth going out of your way for but it's fun in the rain.

Iris Chewning

Absolutely great time!! Everyone adults and kids enjoyed the entire experience. The sharks were awesome and divers were showing the kids teeth against the tank glass. Great experience!!

Luis Braz-Ruivo

Nice place to visit. The turtle rehab center is very interesting.

Chris Taylor

A very interesting aquarium. They have a number of exhibits. They have a turtle rehabilitation facility. There is an area to pet Ray's and crabs. There is also a separate jelly fish exhibit. The otters were very playfully while we were there as well. There was a slight line but it was a rainy day on the shore.

Jessica Keeton

Small but good. Go when they first open and there is very little crowd. We go every time we're in the Banks. The staff is friendly and the exhibits are great.

Dawn Marie

Another stop on our big North Carolina vacation! This aquarium was wonderful! There’s a theater that shows relevant movies, a wishing well with fish statues and tons of fish! Clean facility and bathrooms.Only suggestions I have is that they should expand and have more animals and definitely bigger sharks. A few animals were not on exhibit when we visited. However, a great place to go with children or adults to explore. Fair admission prices as well!

Kristina Weiss

Stopped by recently to visit this aquarium. Admission was $13 for adults. Overall this is a small aquarium but the exhibits are interesting. I gave then 4 stars because I didn't think the admission fee was worth the price. There a small area you walk through then an outside exhibit with otters and stuff. Not bad overall but still for the admission price its almost $30 for 2 adults, it could be better. Not bad one time but probably wouldn't go back a second time. I

Bonnie Mendell

We really enjoyed our visit! The staff was super friendly and took the time to answer all our questions! The sting rays were so awesome! Amd we found some shark teeth outside in the shark pit.

Vito Covalucci

Good aquarium, very nice exhibits, including an ironclads theater experience. Not a large place so overall time there is shorter than expected.

Claire WithLove

I was impressed how nice the aquarium was from the variety of fish, turtles, alligators, snakes, lizards, jellyfish, sharks, otters, and sting ray's. We went on a Wednesday in the summer around 3:00 pm and it was not too crowded. There was a huge tank with floor to ceiling sides with sharks and other fish. A sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation area. Areas where you could touch a lizard, hermit crabs, and pet a sting ray. I felt badly for the sting rays since there was no where they could escape to to get away from all the hands other than trying to swim closer to the gravel. Overall, this was one was one of the best aquariums I have been to.

Alan T

This is a perfect excursion for younger kids (toddler through teen) - very engaging for kids at varying heights, and enough eye candy to keep you 'surprised' but not overwhelmed. It's got a good 'flow' to it - fairly easy to keep eyes on your kids, while young them a bit off leash to enjoy things at their own pace. At the entrance, they have a 'no weapons of any kind, regardless of concealed carry permit' sign - so anyone to whom that may apply may want to note it. As of early March 2019, they didn't have any bag searches, or metal detectors in place, so - check your local laws, and decide what to want to do. On the whole, a great outing, the perfect length for an hour or two visit with young kids, without getting museum fatigue, with a fair amount to do for all ages. Wish they were more friendly to concealed carry permit carriers.

Andrea K

Friendly, knowledgeable staff who answered our endless questions patiently, the gift shop staff was superfriendly even though it was close to closing and I'm sure they were ready to go home. The turtle rehab room was so interesting, we spent close to an hour in there learning about the different turtles and why they were there and how they were treated and when and where they would be released. We even "adopted" a turtle in the gift shop! Lots of exhibits with extensive information about the animals and several hands-on exhibits. This was one of the best aquariums we've ever visited and would love to come back when we're in the area again.

Pat Thomas

A great family experience that is priced low enough for a the whole family to enjoy. Walk through a shipwreck, see rescued turtles getting ready to return to the ocean, and enjoy fish and other wildlife while learning about there natural habitats. Don't forget to go outside to their pier, lots more to enjoy my there

Naomi Harbour

I've been to many aquariums (including the National Aquarium in Baltimore, & the Newport Aquarium in KY). This one was awesome! Quick but worthwhile museum experience, very well set up with appropriately-sized exhibits. The Sea Turtle Trama Care Unit is especially good!

a traveling Mom

This is a pretty small aquarium! I was a little surprised because it still costs as much as the larger ones do for entrance. It’s more like an aquarium for elementary field trips. The kids did have fun petting stingrays and the staff was friendly.

SuperChase220

Absolutely wonderful! Amazing exhibits, including a turtle rehab facility, that allow you to be up close and personal with their vast selection of wildlife. Very reasonable admission fee was the icing on the cake! A gem in an area already teeming with great things to do!

David Manns

We had a great time here! Learned a lot about all of the native aquatic-life, and wetland life. Great value for the amount you get to see, good learning play for the children. They run a sea turtle rescue and recovery hospital. Thanks to Pepsi for sponsoring the hospital portion! (They asked for no photos in that are).

Jena Trant

Really cute! Loved the turtle show! The turtle rehab place was really informative and great for the kids. Kinda wish there was a little more to the museum though. Would visit again!

GalaxyBunny87 YT

WOW! What a beautiful place!!! Price is reasonable! Lots to see!!! All of the staff that we encountered were SO friendly and knowledgeable! The STAR sea turtle rescue and hospital was absolutely the most amazing thing! All of the tanks and habitats were strikingly beautiful! Very worth a visit!

Jacob Ellsworth

Great Aquarium!! The experience is totally worth it! Especially loved the stingray pool and turtle hospital!

Jared Williams

The aquarium was great and they had some massive sharks. They also had a really cool albino alligator. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the kids loved the petting tank for the stingrays.

Matthew Kuliani

Go early. Waiting until it is convenient for you will be a mistake. The aquarium will get very busy and you will likely wait in a very long line to buy tickets to get in. Buying tickets ahead of time will not really save any time as you still have to wait in line. Of course, the fish, alligators, amphibians, turtles, sharks, touching pools, jellyfish, and gift shop are superb. The only complaint, other than how busy and crowded it was, was the presenter for the large tank show was so hard to understand due to the high volume, deep voice, and accent that people just left. Still, five star place even WITH complaints!

Lauren Eve

Super fun day activity, I loved seeing the see turtle rehabilitation center. They had awesome things to see there and the touch tank was really cool!

Nancy Jenkins

Best aquarium I have been to since Mystic Aquarium. I LOVE this place!

Garrett D

A ton of fun and cheap compared to my local Baltimore aquarium. A good clean place. Loved the turtle rehab center. The otters were cool and playful and the shark tank was really nice and big. The kids had a great time so 5 stars

Michael Kaczun

I was surprised at how large and nice this place is. Unfortunately, it gets extremely busy anytime it rains as its one of the only indoor activities in the area especially for young kids. Be prepared to park on the grass on those days and wait in a long line just to buy tickets. Even in that case, I'd still recommend going.

Chris M.

My family had a great time for a fair price at this aquarium. Several staff members were eager to talk about the wildlife in a professional and informative manner. There is also a great bird sanctuary and fossil section that are worth spending time in. Great for kids and adults. My 3 and 7 year old kids stayed entertained and were able to walk the whole time because the aquarium is smaller than others we have been to before. I recommend this place and would gladly go again.

Bryan Calhoun

Loved the visit. Good for the whole family. Kids loved it

Mark Spence

Not a big aquarium but cost was very reasonable and exhibits were good. Would definitely recommend for all families. Very enjoyable. Takes just enough time to go through for the kids to not get so tired.

Chelsea Quattrone

The Peruvian Spiced, charcoal grilled chicken is one of the most delicious meals you will find on Outer Banks. The fish is fresh. The tacos good. Simple, healthy, straightforward menu; served up by a beautiful smiling staff that will make you feel right at home. This family restaurant is priced just right for quality food. Where the locals eat, watch international football, & or pick up a take out order instead of cooking one night.

Jessica Denisar

A little small but they had an eel and an almost albino American alligator. Was pretty excited about that. Also, you can see the sea turtles hospital and the volunteer working the day I went was extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer questions.

Timmy Songer

We thought it was small for the cost but would be a great place for kids. There was also a small reptile room and sea turtle rehibilitaion center. The number and diversity of animals was not impressive.

Alvonne Wimmer

We had a wonderful time seeing all the exhibits. The turtle hospital and jellyfish exhibits were most unique. The facility is very handicap friendly!

Rachel Franks

For a small aquarium you truly get a lot out of it. We took our 3.5 year old son so it was kind of fast due to small attention span, but there were several parts that we stopped and my child loved. The sharks were a HUGE hit! And my personal favorite was the turtles, we were so close to the tanks and the lady volunteering seemed so knowledgeable on all of the turtles. It was good to hear about why they were there and the plan to release them as well. If you are in the area I encourage a visit!

Fang Mar

just awesome place! I recommend everyone to visit! children will be delighted! polite workers and a lot of interesting things.

Jonathan Quigley

Thought there would be more exhibits. But they did have a cool shark display

Megan Nicole

Small, but cute. Just what you'd expect from a small-town aquarium. What they did have was well kept and informative. It's an awesome place for kids and adults alike. But it's not overpriced.

Sebastion Michaelis

Nice little aquarium. Good selection. Not very big though

Rican Redneck

Kids loved the aquarium, it’s a small place but they keep it clean. We visited before peak season but the lines for ticket was long. They have a new jelly fish display that is awesome. I recommend visiting sea turtle rehabilitating area. Beautiful sea turtles and very educational for kids.

Dennis Hamrick

This is a great place. The state used to fund the aquariums along with private donations. Now there's a fee of $12.95. I was entitled to a 10% discount, which the ticket office staff member failed to enter when she charged my credit card.

G Matt

Absolutely! Hidden gem. Shark tank appears much bigger than VB Aquarium's. Clean. Informative. It kept my attention and that of a 7 yr old. We both agreed it was very fun. Good parking. Good restrooms. Food available. Just a nice place at a good price. We will be back and bring others with.

Adam Brotherwood

This place really impressed the family and me. We really found the sea turtle hospital interesting, and the staff and volunteers passionate about helping the turtles. Good for all ages and at a decent cost.

Rebecca Gaa

Really good place for the kids. Great staff. Awesome displays. We enjoyed it. Soent about 2 hours. Big on explaining conservation

Crystal Maxwell

Amazing trip. Loved the jellyfish and the petting of the stingrays and sharks. Shark feeding was disappointing only fed a shark once

Pete Carlson

Great aquarium! My daughter loved it, especially the area where you can pretend to nurse a sea turtle back to health.

Ally O

This is a smaller acquarium but very well organized and informative. They rescue sea turtles and allow the public to visit with them as they recover. There is a section where children can pretend to be nurses and doctors for the turtles. My children, ages 7 and 11 really enjoyed it! They also allow you to touch some fish and had a live show about amphibians. The instructor was amazing and so knowledgeable. We really had a good time. We walked around the grounds. And had a little snack that we brought in because the snack bar was closed.

Katie Poterala

A small aquarium but decently thorough. A variety of well designed exhibits, although many of the cages seem very small for the size of the animals, particularly the snakes and smaller animals. They had some programming that kids would enjoy, and some special kid focused outdoor activities. They have a small sea turtle rehabilitation area. Most of the talks and programming appeared to be extremely basic, focused on children, and focused heavily on reversing the damaging stereotypes of sharks as predators. There was not much in depth information about anything on view— just a few facts here and there. We’d hoped to see a wider variety of sea life, but thought it was a well done museum. I was also surprised at the lack of education concerning ocean pollution and it’s effect on wildlife, considering those who would be enlightened by these exhibits would also probably be surprised to know how much of a problem it is.

Jason Dembowski

Great family place. Lots of things to check out. Got to visit the sea turtle hospital. Amazing.

Geoffrey Krasley-Lawhorne

Lots of fish and other critters to see. Plenty of interactive activities to keep the young ones interested. The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. Perfect for a rainy day, or if you find yourself maxed out on spending time at the beach.

Verma Lagen

Went to the aquarium while one vacation with my family. we had a really nice time. It's definitely worth visiting.

Ben Parker

Friendly staff, beautiful exhibits. It's a yearly stop for us on our vacation, especially on a rainy day. The kids love it. Definitely worth the trip, even from up in Corolla. We recommend getting there early, just as it opens to avoid traffic and crowds.

Erica Row

Best place ever! North Carolina is the best! You should definitely go there. One of my favorite places. Plus they have an awesome Aquarium!

RaeAnna Kirsch

It is a small aquarium, and for $13 a head it isn't bad. I especially like the sea turtle rescue, seeing conservation efforts is encouraging .

Alyssa Saldivar

Amazing aquarium! Very informational for all ages with wonderful exhibits. Extremely friendly staff. Absolutely worth the entry fee.

Macie Ott

For being a smaller, ocean front aquarium I expected a little more. The price was a little steep for only having a couple of animals to view. The video of the otters and seeing the otters was the best part. The other cool part was the sea turtle rehab center. The aquarium attendant was rude about trying to fit a bunch of people in and didn’t really explain what the job of the rehab center was. Overall, it was a decent experience definitely better for kids.

Kathleen Gaffney

So awesome! All the staff is wonderful! The ladies at the sting Ray and crab touch exhibits were so nice and let us ask so many questions ( I think one was named Devon)

David Covert

This place was awesome. Along with what most Aquariums do, this one had lots that kids could do. You can get a turtle (fake one of course) scan it to find out what is wrong with it nurse it to health and release it....plus many others...

Jessica Hill

This was our second trip to this aquarium. People are always friendly and kind. Bathrooms are always clean. We enjoy it every time we've been. Learned a few things this past trip because of the dive show. Thanks oh so much.

Jeff Lepore

Very clean location employees are very knowledgeable. We had a great time thank you very much!!! Definitely will come back next time.

Chuck Freeland

Fun place to go. Not a lot of fish variety, though most fish seem to be of the local variety. Difficult to view the exhibits when it's busy. The pathway through the exhibits is a bit narrow. The sea turtle hospital was fascinating. Cost $12.95 for adults. I'd say that's a fair price. Would go back in the off season when not as busy. Too us about an hour to go through it. Would take our time if not as busy.

Jeremy Whited

This is a very great experience for families while visiting the area! This aquarium offers many exhibits and interactive areas. Children are sure to enjoy this, especially the hands on exhibits. There are also outdoor areas for children to play and different small trails that contain different exhibits. Also included is a pier that is on site. The price of the aquarium is fairly cheap. So I would strongly recommend this to everyone.

cody sir

Shark feed behind the scenes was amazing. (Shark Bite) we come here often, at least once a year. Well maintained and not very expensive place to visit during your vacation to the beach.

Joey Trivette

Great visit but kind of short. Loved the turtles in the rescue center. Staff were courteous and patient. It's a little smaller than expectedl

james tavenner

Small but really nice aquarium. They have a sea turtle sanctuary where you can watch them take care of the turtles. Gets busy fast on rainy days.

Jon Brady

A small aquarium worth a visit. Habitats are clean and well-maintained. Touch screen info at every tank. Great turtle rehabilitation center and exhibit.

Mallory Moore

Awesome aquarium! We loved the sea turtles!!! They were amazing to see so close!

Ryan Minnix

Had a blast with our 18 month old. Staff were so friendly!

Anand Kumar

Great place to pass the time with your kids. My 3 year old loved it. He loved seeing the sharks, alligators, and turtles. It takes sbout an hour to see the whole aquarium. Maybe longer if you interact with the exihibits and watch the videos.
