This Tourist Attraction belongs to the category of Historical landmark.
This building is worth a visit. This is a world building. It was with great pleasure that we visited this famous place - we were delighted. Entrance fee $ 42 per person. Before getting into the elevator and going up to the crash of the building, we went through a mini tour of how this building was created and what films were shot here. We were very pleased. I recommend to all tourists.
Grandiose architectural masterpiece, 102 story 1250 feet(380m) a total of 1454 feet (443.2 m) including its antenna, spectacular building was finished May 1 st. 1931. It was a farm field in 18 century before came to the possession of prominent family Waldorf Astoria who built hotel there and later relocated hotel to Park Avenue where still stands fabulous hotel Waldorf Astoria. 3500 people mostly Italian and Irish immigrants built Empires State building around the clock, finished in 14 months, 45 days before scheduled date. Contains 10 million bricks and 5 acres of windows. It’s named after New York State nickname ‘Empire State’. When you are there you’ve been transported to times imagining people transforming this real estate to timeless, iconic landmark that offers 360 views of mesmerizing city. Breathtaking views are fantastic just like New York itself. Over 250 movies were filmed there King King in 1933 being the first one. It has been popular tourist attraction since opening. Over 4 million people a year enjoy spectacular views and amazingly magnificent landmark. If you are lucky to find yourself at 102 story observatory deck soaking the spirits of majestic, spectacular New York City count your blessings, being on the top of the highest building you will visit in you lifetime, crown jewel of American history visited by many Kings, Queens, Presidents, dignitaries and you is truly a blessing.
A lot of people ask if it's worth going up. It is pretty personal, and I was wondering the same thing. It is a bit pricey, considering you can get into a high end Museum for less. But I can say it was much better than I thought. There was more to the museum and experience than just going up an historical achievement. Compared to the general admission of the CN tower in Toronto, this was a better deal.
Must visit NY landmark. Building staff is professional and courteous. First few floors are dedicated to rich heritage of building. It’s incredible to know about speed at which this building was made and innovative techniques used. You have to go thru 2 lifts to reach open are. View is incredible from top. You get lot of spots to capture NY skyline. Visit around evening hours to get both day and night views. I would love to experience it again with my friends and family
Amazing views from the iconic New York most famous landmark. The Empire State Building. If you are in New York you have to go on the observation deck. The best time of the day is 30/40 mins before dusk until the sun is completely down. You’ll not only see the city in day light and night, but the red light that the sun creates going down it’s just magical.
I’ve lived in New York and realized I never been to the Empire State Building. It was amazing, the view from the observatory is impeccable. Being up there will give you the feeling of royalty looking down at your kingdom. The 360 degree view of New York City is so ingenious. If you’re looking to be amazed by the beauty of New York then try the VIP express ticket, it’s worth it.
The jewel of NYC. Giving jobs to thousands since it’s inception. This is one of the best places to view the City. It provides the 360 degree magnificent views especially at night times. Remember to purchase the tickets online and in advance. It can be clubbed via City Pass as well.
The view from the top just gives you a feeling of awe. We went here during the night, and while there were quite a number of people, the atmosphere was calm. You get a great view from the centre of Manhattan, with each side offering something to take in. There are also binoculars (free) which you look into for closer viewing. A worthwhile experience and I'd highly recommend anyone visiting New York City to do it.
Absolutely worth it. Really great views of the city and you are actually outside so it has even better photo opportunities than the One World Observatory. I highly recommend a visit at about an hour before sunset, then you get to see the views in the hours of daylight, then watch the sunset, and then see the views in the hours of darkness as well. Exceptional and you won't regret it.
We had a great experience of visiting this iconic New York landmark. Climbed all the way up to the Observatory to see great views of not only NY city but further afield into neighbouring states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania and …
Admission is very, very expensive. 40$ a person. Know that before you go in. I personally felt it was well worth the cost though. Gorgeous views, with a rich history.. It felt like a museum inside of this historic building. It was …
Perhaps we got lucky with the weather (fresh Autumn morning at 8am), but I loved this place. Huge history to learn about, fabulous uninterrupted views (open viewing deck), art-deco everywhere, great service. Better than One World Observatory. Definitely recommend.
Amazing. Beautiful. Would come here again. 5 stars. Ok, I hit all the key words. Time for the real review. I'm an old tart. And sometimes I toot a tart. People weren't too happy about it on the observation deck, but my friend tagged me getting a sweet pic.
It costs $38 each to reach the top floor. The elevator up is fun. You have to walk through a lot of rooms with pictures of original construction. It takes quite awhile to get to the top standing in lines waiting forsmall elevators, they have some current construction so maybe it will get better. It's smaller than I thought up on top and gets crowded but it is a one of a kind view.
For the price we paid, it was well worth it. Seeing the city from up high felt incredible. The history behind the building and the images were beautiful! Would definitely go again and bring family. Must visit when in NYC.
Brilliant to visit it on such a clear night! Fabulous views! The videos in the lifts and in the rooms before the viewing deck were excellent too. The staff were polite, engaging and funny too. A great visitor attraction in an iconic building.
I don't like heights and so I was going along somewhat under duress! We went on a weekday and found almost zero queues. Inside the access to the building is great: most of floor 79 and the entire 86th floor, with surrounding outdoor …
Just amazing! My husband and I went for the first time last week. The views at night are breathtaking but there is so much more to see there. You walk through a museum before going to the top. Which show ls the history of the building. We would go again maybe during the day this time.
I don't know what changed since last time I visited, last year, but I don't remember being through the introductory part, before you go to the top. I did go a month ago, such a cool experience, a small museum-like exhibition, I can't describe it but it was really, really cool. Made the whole experience so much better.
The view at sunset was gorgeous and the engaging activities on your way up were second to none, making it one of the best experiences of our trip. Only downfall was the higher viewing floor was under construction for another two months. I can only imagine the views from another 20 floors up would be breathtaking. Can't wait to bring the kids!
It was great to go up to the observation deck of the Empire State Building. I was there in 1980 and I noticed a number of improvements made. The floor where you change elevators has some interesting things to see. The elevator movie is quite amazing. The employees were friendly and helpful. The view was spectacular and we stayed till the sun went down and watched the city lights come on. Great value!
I really like the improvements they did. About 7 years ago was my last visit. Since then there's a lot of more to see before going to the top. Especially the King Kong display is very nice. We liked it better then or trip to the World trade center. Price wise it's also an better option and since you get the chance to go outside the photos will be much nicer.
Absolutely amazing and for $34 per adult I highly recommend a trip to the empire state building, unbelievable views we got here early morning and had no trouble getting around but we also came back after dark to see all the lights on around the city and what an amazing view absolutely breath taking. Staff that work here are unbelievable they are amazing and helpful and extremely polite. Thank you for an amazing experience.
I visited this place in 1998 and now again in 2019. Somewhere in between the visitors areas got renovated and everything looks modern and new even though the building itself is close to 90 years old. Having an open air observation deck is a great feature and very cool. One Trade Center observation deck has maybe even better views, but there is no open deck. There was no lineup to wait for the elevators up and only a small line to wait to go down. Rockefeller center was way more busy with scheduled waits of 2 hours. Staff was helpful and courteous.
I came to New York from California and absolutely loved visiting the Empire State Building. From the start as you enter the building you are greeted and each individual as you make your way through security, scanning your ticket, to the elevator, and the individual greeting you as you exit the elevator are all friendly. Everyone does there part to make the experience great. The views at the 86th floor were amazing. Such a great spot for photos with amazing views of New York. So glad that I was able to visit this building and take such BEAUTIFUL photos. Hope you enjoy all of the photos and visit the Empire State Building for an amazing experience!
We decided to visit this observatory by night. We were thinking that it would be amazing the it was even better. Is amazing the view you have there up. We got the simple ticket (floor 86th) with the NYC pass and it was amazing. I highly recommend to visit that place if you visit NYC.
It is really something else walking into the lobby of this place! The place is immaculate! The tiles, the walls, the high ceiling and even the elevator doors. Everything is decorated so nicely! The price to give the elevator a ride to the top was just a little to steep for me. Still you can walk right into this place just to say you have been here!!!
One of the visited places if you are near to the new York City.I was fascinated with the photos of celebrities who had been to the top of the building too. Once at the top, accessed via a lift which went VERY fast indeed, we were afforded great views over the city. It was a beautiful day, sunny and clear, so everyone was out taking photos. It was really awesome view where you can see whole city.
The staff at the building working the observatory attraction ALL are 1000%. No rudeness, lots of smiles, greetings... A-1 worth every single penny! Karl working the front desk at a bit after midnight was bright and friendly... made the trip to the top worth it. The ladies, especially, Bibi, at the end of the tour in the official gift shop was AMAZING even at almost 2am in the morning and closing time! WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. We came from the Intrepid museum earlier in the afternoon... and the staff was day and night. If you must choose, visit the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING for a few dollars more. Interactive displays and beautiful views of the magical city of NEW YORK!
Can this be anything less than 5 stars!! Went up just as the sun was setting and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Plan to reach up ~5-10 mins before the sunset and you will easily end up spending a couple of hours at the top!! Views, views, and more views!! Have fun finding all the hot spots from up there and pointing them out!!
Very cool experience viewing Manhattan at night time. Being on top of the building really helps you understand how big everything in the city is. The lights; the sounds, it’s all just so amazing. Be sure to bring a jacket, it gets cold up there!
It’s good to have an Empire State experience however it’s over rated and too crowded. I choose Top of the rock for more best view. The building is a beauty and located close to time square hence the crowd is justified. It gives you a 360 degree view of the city. My personal favourite view is when you can see one world trade centre and Statue of Liberty.
This iconic New York landmark is a must for every visitor to the Big Apple. Get there before 10am to avoid the crowds and marvel at the views from the observation deck. The history and Art Deco internal features are also worth spending some time exploring.
Wow. The admission price is steep but well worth the visit. The new set up is nice and will give you plenty of time to see the history of this historical building. Enjoy the displays, the time you have before reaching the observation deck is A-OK. The personal working the crowd for the most part are very informative and helpful. Of course your final destination, the observation deck awaits and the views (on the good days) are amazing. Walking around with a 360 degree view of Manhattan and the surrounding Boroughs, Counties, islands, rivers and yes even New Jersey are awesome. Hope you have fun in this landmark building and enjoy all it has to offer.
Amazing ! Our visit was fantastic. We did the day and night pass bought it with the Citi Pass. Very worth it to see it during both day and night because it’s just breathtaking. I loved it. It was very busy during the day, extremely crowded. However at night it wasn’t crowded at all, we got there about 9 pm and was able to walk right in and go up we didn’t have to wait for an hour to get on the elevator. Or walk 7 flights of steps like we did in the daytime. It was optional but it wasn’t fun. I recommend going during the day and night. You can even see the Statue of Liberty !
This is one of the most famous observation deck in the world. If you have "the New York Pass", "the New York City Pass" and so on, you can enter the observation deck smoothly. The observation deck is open from morning to midnight, but I recommend you to visit at morning. There are not so many customers at morning, so you can easy to walk around the observation deck and easy to take photos every side(from north side to south side). At sunset time and evening, the Top of the Rock is better because the Empire State Building is illuminated at night, so it is beautiful and brilliant when you see from other location.
Wow, what can I say, it's the Empire State Building and holds an unmatched view of NYC. The experience is rather pricey. I recommend getting the standard ticket, there's very little difference in the tours otherwise. The observatory deck is breathtaking at night. Don't forget to look up, there is an indoor compass that points out all the landmarks in Manhattan. I found that to be very helpful.
Amazing historical landmark with incredible aerial views of uptown & downtown Manhattan. The statue of liberty is also able to be seen from the naked eye or through the classic viewing systems. The recent renovations add to the experience & we were thoroughly impressed. The cost is on the higher side, but with a city pass or explorer pass it's even more worth it. Something to note is that It can be very busy, early morning or late night are great times to visit. Bring a camera!
a little to much money When you could just go to a rooftop restaurant and eat for basically the same price maybe slightly more per person... but you you get a meal. save some money and have a drink on a rooftop bar... however with that said, still an amazing view!
The observation deck not only allows the best views of New York, but completely entertains you along the way. It was a Disney tour and historic immersion all at once. By far one of the best attractions around in NYC. Do not skip!
Beautiful Art Deco building. Spectacular view on Manhattan from above. The observation platform is not for the faint of heart. You will get a view of the even more beautiful Chrysler building. It was a thrill to be there. The ticket prices are outrageous compared to what they used to be just several years ago.
The lobby is really well done! A lot of information was conveyed in a really short amount of time because if the videos. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there was no line. Really enjoyed the experience there! Staff was also super friendly which was unexpected at a tourist spot like that
What a view! Amazing! At the beginning we were thinking to go to top of the rock but a friend told me that Empire State was better and that is totally true! Probably next time I’ll go to top of the rock but if this is your first time this should be your choice. I went on Friday at 3/4pm and I wait 5 minutes approx, really fast and amazing tour! Must for NYC!
This place was simply beautiful. This was my first time to NY...brought my wife for a special birthday surprise and we caught this place along our trip. She's been to NY before, so she also kina knew her way around. We did the AM/PM tour because she wanted to take in the night lights. The ticket system was a pain because it wasn't working right, so we got messed up there. The gentleman working the area took us straight to the ticket booth and they didn't bat an eye, made it right for us and we had fun. Taking it all in so high up, is breathtaking. Definitely a must see and do when you're here! Can't wait to come back.
Loved this historic site. There are terrific folks dressed in uniforms that assist you at every turn. The views, though not as high as some others, are more special as they have been there a long time and reverence is felt throughout this iconic location. Definitely recommend this for first timers and locals alike!
Wow, loved it ! Certainly worth a visit. The displays on the way up are outstanding and an immersive experience. In one section, surround videos are playing on all the walls and the ceiling demonstrating the original construction. Another area has screens showing all the movies in which the Empire State Building featured. There's a lovely section with models of King Kong's hands and videos of him peering in the windows. What fun. The only thing that needs a little attention is the feedback from the staff that guide you through the building. Oh, and the view from the top is great too.
I visited this fabulous building with my best friend and we had a great time. This is my second time and it has changed from the last time I visited which was almost 22 years ago. Loved it than and loved it even more this time around. Can't wait to take my kids.
