REVIEWS OF Bryant Park IN New York

I love this park. It's a great place to linger and people watch. The fountain is small but the sound of the water when your near it is relaxing. The carousel is adorable. The trees are lovely. There are a couple of concessions for coffee or a snack. Just beautiful.

L Gamello

No Chewing Allowed is the BEST hot chocolate on the planet! I prefer the Bryant Park tree to the Roc Center tree because it is decorated with ornaments (not just lights) and provides better photo opportunities. The ice skating rink is terrific and it's fun to watch all the skaters. These are lots of chairs and small tables around the skating rink so you can usually grab a seat.

Perfect for going to lunch pre matinee and people watching. I had amazing sliders in the cafe overlooking the lawn and strolled around the park on a gorgeous sunny day. Bring a blanket and layout on the perfectly manicured grass blocks away from Broadway and Times Square.

A charming New York City public space to enjoy in fair weather. Lots of seating, sunlight, and greenery. Clean and safe. The Bryant Park Grill (or whatever it's called) is a terrific dining option. Lots of surrounding amenities. One of my favorite south midtown spots.

David Saperstein

One of the best parks the city has to offer. Great for lunch during the work week. It's very well kept. There's always tons of seating and if you want a change of pace you can always lay on the grass lawn.

Thomas Amore

It was great. I haven't been there for a number of years. I love that Park. I believe if you do the research you would know that it was a reservoir back in the 1800 early eighteen hundreds. I believe so do your own research and you'll be surprised. Have a great time at the park.

Elias Fereja

A square Park that a person can see all the corners while standing at a point. In the summer, it is filled with a lot of fun including free movies and book reading. In the winter, it is a place to ice skate and much more

Daniel Santacruz

After Central park, Bryant Park is the best in the city. It is full of people all the time. You will find a lot of street artist, musicians and painters. In the evenings they are playing movies. The park is in the heart of the city so if you want to eat or take something for drink it is going to be just around you. Great place to relax and hang out. Love this place :)

Cathy Packard

his is a great small park in the center of New York City. Great place to stop and rest or talk with friends while sipping a coffee or tea. They’re beautiful gardens and several places to grab a bite to eat or something to drink. It is conveniently located right on the subway line.

This is a really nice urban family park setting. Bring a take out lunch and sit at one of the hundreds of tables. Young kids will love playing on the grass. Well worth a visit.

Damian Sweeney

Lovely small City Park right in the heart of 42nd Street Numerous small food vendors on corners of the park to grab a bite to eat at Park well maintained and teaming with the bird life of the city Table tennis tables available to have a game Plenty of table and chairs to sit and relax or enjoy your coffee and cake on Information boards surround the park giving you the history of the park and it's rejuvenation. Great place to sit back and relax

One of my favorite NYC parks. The programming is excellent and the park itself is beautiful and clean. I also appreciate that it's privately funded. The Southwest porch is my favorite place to stop for a drink with my dog. It's an interesting place with an equal mix of residents and tourists.

Jessica Hash

Green field and trees surrounded by skyscrapers....tourist delight, but loved by us locals. Casual bar and fancy restaurant right there also.... what else could you want?

Noam Hofshi

A very nice park in the middle of Manhattan. There are a few shops and a market like area, a great place to grab a cup of coffee, or a waffle from nearby and to sit and relax a bit. The place seems to be a great area all day long, and it is near the public library, which is a great location

Heather R

Great park to visit with versatile space. Whether it is the Winter wonderland market or Shakespeare in the park (Othello) or just stop by for the fun of it, it is a great place to be, sit, relax, eat, people watch...enjoy. Great public restroom (Shout out to the attendents who do such a nice job and are always polite.) ;-)

Susan Mulder

Such a nice oasis in the middle of the city. With such a small park there is so much going on! You can get board games, books, magazines, food, ping pong and nice restaurants for a meal or drink! Plenty of chairs and tables to sit at and people watch. Shows, activities and movies scheduled each weekend!! Great place!

Marissa Casey

Beautiful park with ample seating. It is right behind the public library, with shops right around the corner! We like to come here just to sit, read, people watch, it is a great place!

Alejandro Marulanda

It was a beautiful day to visit Bryant Park. There are many things one can enjoy. You can sit down and enjoy many great works of literature (especially with the New York Public Library on the Eastern side of the parks green lawn and grill, if entering from 6th Ave/Avenue of the Americas Take in some vitamin-c, enjoy good food with family and friends as well enjoy the yourself with the many activities that surround the perimeter including a Merry-go-round. Always have to take a moment and pause and at least I thank God for such wonders he has allowed us to think, fulfill, produce that allow so many of us to smile inside and out.

David Agudelo

Best park around. There's always somewhere to sit down and just talk or eat or even play table tennis. Pretty cool

Penny Christie

Bryant Park is a beautiful serene and peaceful oasis in the middle of New York City. There is always an activity happening throughout the day. You can enjoy piano players, jugglers, and or sorts of different activities. There is a large grasses area in the middle of the park, which you can sit on and enjoy the sunshine. The grass area is surrounded by tables and chairs as well as an outdoor public library. Which is very fitting because the New York Public Library is connected to the park. On one end you will find a delightful old carousel for children. In the winter months the grass is covered with the ice rink and a large Christmas tree is put up. Christmas stalls are set up all around the park creating a wonderful holiday destination to buy food and gifts. The park is also home to the most beautiful and clean public toilet in all of the city. #letsguide

Bryant Park should be on the list of places to visit when in NYC. Throughout the year it hosts a number of outside boutiques. Many of which are unique items, foods and treats. During the winter months the erected ice rink and lighting make for a wonderful winter Wonderland experience especially during the evening when the lights are twinkling and the city's buzz echos all around making feel like a place that time forgot. At one end of the Park is the library which is another note worthy place to visit.

Seth Grossman

Great public park with a wonderful lawn. It's a wonderful place, on a nice day, to grab a seat and enjoy a nice packed snack, coffee, or read for a while. (It IS adjacent to one of the greatest public library's on the planet). There is …

Marybeth Martin

Great place to get a bit of respite from the hustle and bustle. The restrooms here are a great, GREAT aspect of this park as they are privately owned, continuously maintained, and honestly lovely. You wouldn't expect this at all from a public park restroom. Loads of activities always happening here.

Michelle Pierre

Popular park. My first visit. People pick a spot, sit on the grass and have lunch. There are also chairs and tables. Nice little summer oasis.

Mimi Wahinee

Lovely place to hang out and have your lunch, people watch, read, draw, have a coffee or just sit there and enjoy a beau day outdoor. There are plenty of space for everyone to sit. You can sit on chairs or on the grass. Great little coffee places around or just grab your food at Whole Foods and head to the park. It can be crowded on a warm day but totally worth it.

Lucais Horsley

It was great to go up to the observation deck of the Empire State Building. I was there in 1980 and I noticed a number of improvements made. The floor where you change elevators has some interesting things to see. The elevator movie is …

Bryant Park is a really singular place. Crowded but peaceful in its own way, a different personality depending on the season, and filled with both big and small experiences. It's also one of the few landmarks in the city that is both a local and tourist destination. It's been a part of my work day as a walk-through during the commute or as a lunch spot and despite the issues I still love it.

Chris

This park was right next to our hotel. My girlfriend and I were on vacation in New York City for almost a week and we definitely relaxed at this park a couple times during the week. There's a bunch of things to do a bunch of vendors and a bunch of seating everywhere I like little Parks like this in the big city

Sheetal Paranjpe

Beautiful park. You can just go here and chill. They have free board games and free ping pong. The carousel is very pretty. Perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon

A Monshaw

Bryant Park is currently setting up the Winter Village (including the skating rink) but in the summer I love to go to the concert series they hold in the park. It has a good indoor/outdoor bar/restaurant on the side of the library and usually a lot of food stands in the Winter Village or food trucks on the perimeter.

Scott Lloyd

Fabulous place to visit around the holidays. Browse the wares of local artisans while sipping a hot chocolate and rekindle your youth ice skating beneath the massive Christmas tree. Not as crowded as Rockefeller center and more inviting. All in the shadow of the historic Public library and minutes from Times Square.

Christopher T

This used to be a homeless village when I was growing up, so it's nice to see the city fix the park up in my adulthood and make is usable. Great spot to eat lunch in if you work in midtown. The ice rink and winter village are really nice in the winter too.

Avishek Nandi

There are so many things that is great about this wonderful place... it's a melting pot of so many cultures, people enjoying a laid back seating doing nothing or reading books, playing casual ping pong, chess, etc. The cultural activities are always looked forward to. The winter brings the fairs, huuge Christmas tree, free to use ice skating arena, the list is endless.

Arri Arri

It's very nice and clean. Many people walking in and around the park. They have bathrooms for men and women. Like the view and vibe around. I recommend coming here with your special someone.

Cesare D'Amico

My favorite park in New York City! Can be both quiet and full of life at the same time, but I always find it relaxing. The Christmas Market is really nice, and I'd like to be able to watch a movie sometime when it's used as an open-air cinema. I will come back whenever I'm in the city.

Daniel Fosterman

One of the rare parks in the city with clean bathrooms. Bryant park is great for eating a take out lunch on a nice day. They have lots of events like movies in the park during the summer. The carousel and kids play area is great. They added a section with tables and board games which is awesome if you are in the area and need to kill some time.

Andy Ma

This will always be my favorite place in Manhattan. It's a beautiful park during the winter, with the ice rink and cute little shops all around. During the non-cold seasons there are chairs and tables all around a grassy green area. Table tennis, table top games, and the NY public library is right there! It's great for resting while you're alone, chatting with friends, and playing PokemonGO! I love to come here as often as I can.

Jill Harwell

Great place to stop and rest or talk with friends while sipping a coffee or tea. They’re beautiful gardens and several places to grab a bite to eat or something to drink.

Joyce Williams-Samedy

I always love a trip to Bryant Park, but in the summer it's extra special due to all of their wonderful programs; most of which are free. Impeccably clean and monitored, restrooms are available to the public. The newly added game and reading areas make the experience even better.

Chris Pokorny

Centrally located. You feel the city around you, but all the trees provide a canopy of shade around the entire park, even in the middle of summer. Plenty of seats to eat, play free games (we did backgammon), read, or watch free shows.

Rob K

This is a great small park in the center of New York City. Great place to stop and rest or talk with friends while sipping a coffee or tea. They’re beautiful gardens and several places to grab a bite to eat or something to drink. It is conveniently located right on the subway line.

Bryant park is always bustling with things to do. From food, activities and shops. I recently had 2 experiences here. 1. Free juggling in the park 2. Movie night: to all the boys I love. Both experiences exceeded my expectations. I live in Manhattan so normally when I come across free activities, I expect chaos and longer then needed lines (especially in the summer) but that was not the case for these 2 experiences. The juggling instructions definitely care and took the time to help me learn and watched build the confidence to learn how to juggle. It’s exactly what you expect if you paid for a private lesson. The movie night was always a great experience. Yes there were a lot of people there, but it never felt chaotic and never got out of hand. I was able to find a good seat on the lawn very quickly and I loved that they have alcoholic beverages available and FREE POPCORN. This place is always great if you just want to sit on a bench and relax.

Brayden Mora

This park just sets a mood in NYC yet situated in the middle of the hustle and bustle. In summer you can catch the Netflix sponsored film screenings and in winter they feature the ice skating and winter themed shopping huts. It’s always …

Alitcha Jeffers

The place was packed but there was a lot of chairs to sit on. They were teaching square dancing and a lot of people participated. It was fun. The food was good and they gave away hats. I'm sure this is only on special occasions. I had a nice time with my friends.

Danielle Blevins

This was such a beautiful place to take a walk. We ended up sitting down with a crowd of people to watch the sunset. It was so cool seeing all the performers that were doing cute little shows around the park as well. Plenty of the hot dog carts surrounding if you want food while you're there. We also noticed there were a few different options for the guys on bikes that provide rides. They vary in price so make sure you check before you agree. The best price we saw was $3 a minute.

Kat Honeycutt

What a beautiful place. I had been in the winter, but August nights are wonderful. I had the best bourbon bacon waffle and mint Lemonade. People on the green watching the entertainment. Very pleasant walk. Be careful of the food trucks surrounding. I was charged $20 for a cone and 2 small cups of ice cream.

Dane Bryan

Awesome place to be with shops year round and seasonal activities. My favorite is the ice skating at the winter park during the holiday season. It’s always so festive. When you’re done there’s a nice place for hot chocolate and drinks. Enjoy!

Christopher Gibson

Cool spot to relax and hang out after work. Walked by on my way to my hotel and just picked a table to have a sit and relax. Well lit in the evening.

Breeanna Mendiola

My favorite park hands down in New York. They have ping pong, a reading space with books to select from and open yard space to lay down and relax. There’s also concerts in the summer and in the winter a large amount of shops come together and sell everything from food to handmade goods. It’s absolutely wonderful.

Jenna Roadside

This is my favorite park in NYC. The park is clean and well kept. There is always something to do. I saw a sing along happening in August during the day. It was pretty neat

Michelle Balbosa

Situated in the pickle of Midtown Manhattan. Open air large block party type setting. But really folks were just laid back lounging. Safe and relaxed close to everything on Broadway a walk away. Just great for kicking back and enjoying the view. But you must love crowds.

Majeda Begum

It's a really nice respite against the bustling city and concrete buildings. The place is well kept and the having the library right under your feet is amazing. The space is always clean and the garden is very well maintained. Go for a stroll during lunch time or anytime of the day. It gets busy as we locals love to grab our lunch and head over to enjoy the nature and fresh air. Grab a seat when you can, they go as quickly as they come.

Nadya Barandica

Aa nice place to unwind, sit, read, talk, have bite and even shop on the occasional market or craft fair that the park may offer. Depending on the season you may ice skate or see an evening movie on the lawn. A nice pleasant escape from our hectic city.

Ken King

Pretty place. Small, but lots of chairs. Green field and trees surrounded by skyscrapers....tourist delight, but loved by us locals. Casual bar and fancy restaurant right there also.... what else could you want?

Susan Easterday

Beautiful park! My son really enjoyed the ping pong tables. Also there are some fun food places.

Catalina Thomas

A great park to linger, catch an outdoor concert and just chill.. I must say Bryant Park has the most cleanest, chic public bathroom. Full length mirror glass wall tiles, fresh flowers

Janette Cornish

Great to sit and play board games and watch New Yorkers relax and eat their lunches in the sun. It's a shame the games area is being moved. Some conveniences would be a bonus as would some more diverse snack bars. The gardens were beautiful

Nikki M

Iconic park small but mighty so much to do and see all year round . My favorite spot to relax and have my morning coffee. Located in the center of Manhattan on 5 Ave next to wonderful New York Public Library. To the east Grand Central Station to the west Time Square .

Sotir Stojcevski

Awesome park with chairs and tables, as well as couple of bars for casual seating. We enjoyed couple of hours 9pm-11pm with the kids on a hot autumn night. Good place for a catch up with people...

Dicken Doe

Another great find, sat here before going into the excellent NY library, pics here of the library as Google Maps didn't pick the location up. The library the greatest surprise this trip, had no idea it was there or how impressive. Clearly …

sindu Killamsetty

Favorite park in the New York City after the Central Park! It’s in a nice location, and there is usually something going on in the park. They have an ice skating rink in the winters and it’s beautiful. I always visit this place when I am in the city. Lady m cake boutique is just across the park and it’s a must visit when in the park.

Thegirl. Fromearth

A relaxing place in the middle of chaos. I love to go in this park and chill out after work. A lot of kids playing, adulta serving lunch/dinner.

Sara Boyer

I have been here in spring, summer, fall, & winter and its a beautiful park all year round. There is plenty of seating, food vendors and sometime entertainment. Its great place to take a picnic as well. In the winter, there is a Christmas fair that sets up shop for food and shopping! Beautiful park!

Karen Grant

Just beautiful for being in the center of a large city. Kept clean you can go sit relax get a drink a bite to eat. A carousel for the children. Trees with plenty of shade. Changes with the seasons.

Randall Stempler

A little, shaded oasis in the center of the city. Actually it was once a reservoir, but this lovely park sits on top of a vast library of books of the New York Public Library. Nice venue for outdoor movies in the summer.

Nikola Mladenovic

Very pleasant and calming park where you can sit alone or with friends for hours, enjoy your coffee, watch people... There are chairs and tables that you can move all around the park and sit on the grass or in the shade. Excellent place to take a break and slow down for a while.

Jeanelle Adams

Fun for adults and kids. They have activities for kids during Saturdays in the summer and the carousel is great for just $3 a ride there is a discount if you purchase more.

regina rasulova

A small gem in behind Main Library branch. Awesome in the winter with skating rink and a gorgeous Christmas tree and winter bazaar. In the summer months, movies under the stars, kids programs, etc. Highly recommend to visit. Check their website for events.
