REVIEWS OF Times Square IN New Jersey

I always go here to do all my shopping. Sometimes can get better deals online, but then you have to pay shipping! Safe and historic well known tourist area. Always packed. Stay safe!

Karina Arana Paredes

It's such a magnificent place, full of iconic places, it felt like being inside of a movie. It is crowded in the evening so if you want to take a good pic, be patient and wait for the good spots. You can find your favorites stores like Disney's and M&Ms.

Andrew Powles

I'm from the old school and vividly remember the old Times Square........that this is not - not even by a long shot. The whole area has basically turned into Disneyland. Call me crazy, but I miss the dirty, seedy Times Square from the days of yore. It gave the city a real sort of edge - not the sterile and sanitized place that it has turned into.

Greg Wendland

Times Square lives up to the hype. It is amazing and bright. Of course, the amount of people you trip over because they stopped in their tracks to take a photo is enough to make you hate tourism, but I will save that for a soapbox.

Who does not love time square. Everytime I come it feels like the first time. The energy, the entertainment, the lights, the crowd, the street side vendors. I love it all. The excitement of the city is awesome and a must do, if you are in New York.

Elaine Hamilton

This place is so busy but very nice. I enjoy the hustle and bustle and its nothing like Oxford Street where you walk slowly behind someone else because the place is so crammed and small. There are lots of people but its not suffocating.

vipin dangi

Magical!!! That is one word that describes time square. Just phenomenal. You feel like you are on different planet. The best shops on the globe, best brands of literally everything and the most you cannot match the vibe.

Azmat Alvi

Electrifying atmosphere. Always so happening. Feels so lively. So much diversity around and everyone is helpful. Cops are always around to help so no fear of any misconduct or mischiefs. Loved my time at this place.

LaWanda Banks

Great location. However, don't buy souvenirs on time square. If possible go to Hells Kitchen to buy food and souvenirs if on budget which is 5 to 10 minutes away. Same great souvenirs for half price and much more variety of food half the price.

Chris Reed

A very interesting place. Definitely need to visit if you are in New York. There are always a lot of tourists. The crowd, noise and holiday mood. This is Times Square.

Aphter Lyphe

An incredible place to visit if you're a tourist and a refreshing place to visit if you're a native New Yorker. The heartbeat of Manhattan can really be felt here with the extraordinary displays. Be careful not to get scammed with picture solicitors and definitely try to be there to experience the midnight light show.

Schmidty

Times Square!! What else can I say. The lights, sounds and people everywhere. It was an awesome experience and we even got to see the new years ball. We walked for miles to shop around and eat at different places. The street performers were awesome.

Pema Gyamtsho

It is one of the famous central place in NYC where people from all walks of life visit. With bright large screens commercials lighting the place, it I was like sitting in an open air cinema hall! It was one my best experiences in NYC.

George Bennett

It's spectacular and you really have to see this place. I think it's one of the wonders of the world. They have turned entire buildings into television screens. You will find yourself looking around 360° at the amazing sites around you. If you haven't been there in the last 10 years you have to go back.

Nigrelli ニグレリMatthew マシュー

Definitely a must see if it's your first time to the city. It's an experience everyone should have. If you are sight seeing or a tourist be mindful of your surroundings. Lots it people waiting to ask for money and try to offer tickets and incentives to get you into clubs. Just don't make eye contact and keep walking.

Tony Cheung

It's a must visit when you visit New York, iconic and breathtaking to see it in person. It's always busy and only gets busier as the day progresses, even if you don't stop for food or shop it's still worth passing through just to get a feel for the atmosphere.

timdog825

Been here so many years and always enjoy the view never get tired of looking at it as I drive by breath taking ..you understand why everyone comes to the big apple to see this.. many things to see n do ..endless sights to see.. not to mention a ton of places to eat..I'm talking about any and everything u can think of ..just walk around and enjoy the sights...even if you're a new Yorker

Sammy Koch

Its cool to say you went there but the amount of homeless people was astonishing... Like the Los Angeles California area... Not my favorite place in the world. Prob a lot cooler to be for the NYE Ball drop and stuff but def not recommending this place as a GO TO destination.

Adam Forrester

Everybody should visit Times Square once...and then avoid it thereafter. It's a very cool place but is probably one of the busiest on Earth! It's bright and there are lots of street entertainers if that's your thing. American food is also abundant but you'll do better and the waits are shorter in the surrounding streets. Don't forget to look up at the new year ball.

Kelly Walsh

Neat to see but very crowded and definitely a tourist trap. There are a lot of shops/eateries so it's good place to walk around.

Fernando De León

Amazing place where you can find people from all over the world from tons of different cultures just walking and passing by, it can get very crowded, but for being practically the downtown of the capital of the world, is something to expect. All the lights from all the publicity billboards make this place an attraction of its own, seeing this world famous place at least once in your lifetime after watching it so many times in movies and TV shows, it's an experience that everyone that visit New York should have.

Frank Moding

It's not a nice place. It has a lot of huge ads and it is close to the theaters. That is all. But I guess, you have to see if once ( though there are lots of better options).

Ahmed El Sebaei

I liked the place. It’s amazing to see all these signs and ads. Lots and lots of people between tourists and others going to work. Food trucks are everywhere, well controlled and monitored so it’s safe to grab a bite. You can find all type of food there. Just like with any big city, you have to be careful and vigilant. Specially that NYC has one of the highest crime rates around the world. I only drove a car once there. But will not try that again. I used Uber and public transportation. Of course don’t use the public transport at late hours

Biks Videography

This is the highest visited place in Manhattan. It was a pleasant experience that made it a memorable visit with my family. lights were replaced with oversize LCD screens, and they are brighter than ever. There are as many as 500,000 photos taken every year in this area alone. I really like being at Times Square and just watching time fly. I used to stay in Jersey city and TS was a must go place every weekend. There's lots of couples, families, friends, and photographers that were out late at night too. Times Square never fails to deliver. Times Square is big, bright and unforgettable. Walk to the top of its red steps. It was nice experience just sitting on the stairs and enjoy. I always used to spend 2 hours there and never felt a single moment of boring. It was a nice experience and must go place if you are planning to visit Manhattan.

Commissar Adrianblade

The only reason I've giving Times Square a 5* rating is due to how iconic it is for NYC and how starstruck anyone not from NYC will be when first entering the area. Is it pretty? Sure. Is it great for pictures? Probably. Will you remember your visit? Definitely. Will you want to ever go back? No. After all that glam and whatnot has faded away you will quickly realize that there really isn't anything special about the place. I've taken numerous people from other countries here and they are always amazed when entering. After a hour or so however they've all to a man wanted to get away from all the giant crowds and noise. So take your pictures, revel in the fact that you've visited Times Square and then quickly make your exit. There are plenty of other places in NYC that are worth visiting!

The first name of the square was Longacre Square. The renowned newspaper The New York Times was named after its headquarters moved there. The most extensive subway stop in New York is also located here. 11 different metro lines pass through this stop. Some of the resulting roads are closed to vehicle traffic and are open to pedestrians only. The square has been declared as smoke free area with recent changes. So there's no smoking here. In almost every corner of Times Square you can see mascots dressed in superhero clothes. You can take a photo together by giving 1 dollar money. Manhattan is New York's most sought-after area. Along the street, it is possible to see the shops of the world's most famous brands. It is thought that nearly 350,000 people pass through the square a day.

Taff Rivers Jr.

The energy in Times Square is what a bright, sunny day feels like. The sounds, the speed, the movement of people and machines. The lights are energetic and amplifying. I visited a few years ago and my last visit feels better than my first. I can't wait to bring my children back to see the billboards, take pics with the characters and eat great food.

very impressive to watch the LED screens all over the place, you can find some street dancing and artist around the place.. and of course some souvenir shops, snacks, ATM and a great meeting point to meet up with your friends. sometimes there are some more activities at that area, if you are lucky you could watch a free concert over there... enjoy your time

Micaela Sol

The most important thing: is SUPER secure! And so beautiful. You can’t lose this place if you are near New York! ICONIC!

Me and my family were visiting New York City for vacation and I have got to say, Times Square was one of the highlights of the trip! Lots of billboards and stores. Great place to explore with your family and friends. I would love to go again.

Paul Bessassar

It's a wonderful place to shop for clothes, toys, games, all kinds of foods, candy, and movie theaters as well plus it's a great place to watch the ball drop when it's on December 31, so come on down to shop til you drop and play to your hearts content. Also when it's New Year's Eve on December 31 you can also do a New Year's resolutions to know what you would do for the New Year that's coming in just 4 months, so be sure to come up with a resolution for the New Year that's coming for what's ahead for the future.

Sergii Chumakov

Definitely must visit place in New York City and United States in General. Unique Atmosphere, Spirit of history, place, which never sleep. I would recommend visit Times Square one time at summer and one time at winter, to feel difference.

Thandokuhle Mandla Kasibante David

Place is lively. Best to go there after 10pm, when the crowd is less and you can take in the lights properly. Many food joints spread out all over. And there are street performers everywhere. Carry some cash for souvenirs and tips.

Keith Thicklin

What you see on TV or in books is 10% of what it really looks like. That is not an exaggeration the brights lights big city applies here. It is like daylight mid-afternoon bright out there. The uptown night tower is must for all visitors

Christopher TheSpur

The hustle and bustle of NYC Times Square is mesmerising, amongst the corridor of tall buildings. The billboards, shops make this area packed with tourists, but remains essential for a visit when in Manhattan - New York. I really enjoyed my very first visit here and would most certainly make another visit, should i be able to one day in the future.

Exactly what you can expect from Times Square! Bright lights, thousands of tourists and countless chain restaurants. Worth going to see at nighttime for the sight, I wouldn’t recommend staying around for too long or eating around there, you can get a much better experience very close by by walk or subway instead!

Adrian Muntean

Great experience but so, so, so crowded. Visiting during the winter is better, although it doesn't feel as crowded when you're paying attention to all that's happening around you. Also, the art show before midnight is awesome.

Kerry Koleszar

Otherworldly. As if you have stepped into a nightmare that wasn’t so bad after all ;-) Open your eyes and enjoy the magic! You won’t regret it

Richard RENAUX

Good store. Two floors. Lots of things to view if you like Disney. However not a lot of marvel and star wars things if you are more into this than into Mickey and his friends.

Black

It's Times Freaking Square! If you have never been, you need to experience it at least once in your life. Being from Indiana, this is a whole new world. Nothing compares to the craziness and flow of this city. It's just cook go take it in. People everywhere!

Özgü Özkul Özyiğit

When you go out from the metro at night time, you will be amazed how bright the street is. Too many billboards, lots of light, a lively street. Restaurants, shops, theaters, everything is there. I don't eat in those restaurants, cause it is always busy and somehow you fill that they don't want you to stay for a long time. And it is overpriced. Good to go and watch people from a window though.

Rick C

Amazing vibe. Especially if you’re stressed out and just wanna get away from negativity, this is definitely the place to go. The beautiful colors and amazing lights. Best to go at sundown.

Rilwan Tijani

Bright lights, People from all over the world. Beautiful, lovely and a place to visit at least once in a lifetime. Lots and lots to see and do in the city of New York.

GlobalVision 360

A collection of the most shiny screen and most stunning performers... And most crazy new-yorkers (=self talking crackheads) . Such an iconic place it worth a visit... But not necessarily a long one.

Jyotirmay Jena

We have been to Time Square several times me. It’s always being fun to be here. Times square is definitely something to see. One of those places that needs to be seen in person. It's a living and breathing place and the constant movement of people and cars is an absolutely amazing thing to witness.

23 Forever

Best place to go when you want to feel free. Being able to just go out and see so many people around you from different races and ethnicities is a great thing.

Subodh Srivastava

Lovely Times Square! No words can describe the ecstasy and flamboyance you experience at this place. Lot of lightning and plenty of people from all over the world come to visit this place. Spend a day or two here and you will enjoy every moment of it. There are plenty of places to eat, shop and simply watch. There was a live band performing every time I’ve been here so it’s an added joy to experience a live performance.

Ryan Miles

Times Square is a must if you are visiting the city. On Times Square you will find a lot of people whenever you go, there are people 24/7. There are a lot of great food and drinks places. Great place for pictures. If you want to see a Broadway show you can buy tickets there. There are a lot of agents next to TKTS and they have great offers for the shows and you wont wait at all with them.

SERCAN OZCELIK

Always crowded, very touristic place and got that good lighting for the pictures! Make sure to tip those people who are wearing costumes when you take pictures with them! Enjoy your time here definitely check out some of the stores in Times Square, they’re not pricey as it looks!

Alesa Rosario

It was exciting to be back home and checking out all the new places in Times Square. There were many eateries, bakeries, and gift Stores. My favorite were the new glass tour buses with the sideway seats that allowed Taurus full View of everything going on in Time Square

Vivek S Panicker

One of the iconic places in NYC. It is very lively and happening place. Although one need to visit Tim Sq at night to enjoy it to its fullest, visiting during day is also enticing. You wouldn’t know how time passed by when you walk around by looking at the lighted displays and hoardings. Many small events take place at this place.

Rosalie Blair

Awesome, the lady was so Sweet & Caring. I didn't eat all day as I was running around between appointments, so I was not feeling well. She welcome me with such Love & Care, offered me tea, soup & suggestion on what meal to eat. Thank you. God Bless you.

Lauren Brigman

Always so much fun hanging out, people watching, and shopping in time square. While I’d consider it safe, it is a large, diverse collection of people so it’s good to keep parties together but there isn’t really a time that it clears up so you can really go at any time. We enjoy staying in time square and enjoying the evenings walking the streets and enjoying the crowds.

Mrs. Smith

Stayed at the Millennium Hotel which was down the street from Times Square and Good Morning America. While there, we was able to meet some of the cast from hit tv show, Power. New York is such a beautiful place and I can't wait to go back

Cenk Cafer

Times square is definitely something to see. One of those places that needs to be seen in person. It's a living and breathing place and the constant movement of people and cars is an absolutely amazing thing to witness.

Danago

You gonna love the night life. Its the place to be when the sun sets. Huge crowd and the energy is absolutely vibrant and amazing. I come here every single night when I was in NYC just to absorb the scene. It like one huge party in the street. It doesn't let up even after midnight. Times Square at night and during the day is quite different. Early morning walk is recommended as you can explore the place more freely without the huge crowd.

Coffee Lover

Fun fun fun!! Exciting and cool place to chill out and just stare at the lights buildings and people!! That's all anyone ever does there and of course the pics and selfies galore!! Have fun seeing and meeting people from all walks of life! And do some chic shopping and eat some yummy vendor food trucks!

Jill Harwell

Even after visiting many times over many years, I still like a quick stroll through when I am in the city. But make sure you venture off in the other vibrant parts of the city to really experience the character of New York.

christian polanco

I had a wonderful time with my family, the food and drinks were great for the occasion. The only reason I gave it three stars is because there were to many people smoking around the food court area.

Rahul Mourya

Wow such a nice and colourful place. During night this place is so beautiful. People can enjoy food, shopping. One of the best place in NYC

amit verma

Times Square is a major commercial intersection, tourist destination, entertainment center. Times Square is one of the world's most visited tourist attractions, drawing an estimated 50 million visitors annually. Approximately 330,000 people pass through Times Square daily, many of them tourists, while over 460,000 pedestrians walk through Times Square on its busiest days

Hasnain Ali

Beautiful place. Quite crowded, but it's New York City after all. Very bright and lots of places to find pretty much anything. Definitely worth going at least once.

George V

Well, if you a tourist you definitely should visit Time Square at least once to witness something you won't see anywhere else. If you live in New York City then you definitely know how annoying are crowded places where you can't normally breathe due to lack of oxygen. Had an impression going here only once then it just doesn't seems like it's the right place you should visit.

Marietta Dawson

You have to go there at night. It is amazing how it bustles at all hours. There is a lot to do and everyone is doing it into the wee hours.

SYED RAFI MOHAMMED

It was a great experience to see all the skyscrapers in one place. I always watch this view in some movies now got a chance to see it in life. Thanks to my wife who gave me an Anniversary trip to New York, Manhattan city.

Souryadeep Sen

Crowded and bustling! And spectacular. The lights have never been so bright and lively! You cannot miss Times Square!

Trooper Long

Eye-catching color, in all directions. I enjoyed my time here. I can see how this is the model for similar squares in Toronto, Tokyo and other world-class cities.

Raul Anthony

This place is literally buzzing with electricity & people everywhere!! it’s one of my favorite places to go when I visit New York because it’s so alive and bright and it doesn’t matter you get lost in Time Square and the best time to go is in the evening it’s so dynamic to great place to people watch because there’s a mix up locals and visitors and homeless people and everyone in between it’s really beautiful.

Ashli Cubitt

Definitely worth going if you've never been! As a small town girl from Texas, I've never experienced anything like it. Can't wait To Come back!!

Madeline Salmeron

I love Times Square. I’m from NY and barely go when I go feels like I’m one more of the tourists. That new bar in the middle of Times Square is highly recommended, love the environment and the night life.

H. Liu

Time Square is the must-go iconic place in New York. When entering Times Square, you are surrounded by countless big screens, which makes you feel in film scenery. And there are full of tourists, from all over the world and it's hard for you to move smoothly in peak time.

Marc Dilinila

Times square is one of those places where it's better if you go here during the night time rather than during the day. It's a completely different place and it looks great at night Extremely crowded though. Didn't enjoy having to bump into tons of people but that's something to expect with that many tourists.

Faisal Mobarak

Love this place specially in night. you will enjoy the time even you can't understand how time is passing here. I love to visit this place at night. You won't feel the night. All the time it's looks very busy and lot of camera flashing all the ways.

matthew perella

Awesome tourist spot if you're in town it's a must see. So many people though so prepare yourself for the crowds. Tons of stores to shop at and iconic views. Everyone should see where the ball drops right?! Food wait times are above average here. My recommendation if you want food is walk a couple blocks away from the square and find a smaller place if your tight on time.

Brynell Owens

Me and my daughter went to see the Harry Potter play. It was really good and we had a fun time walking the streets after it was all done. Very enjoyable and would definitely do it again.

Naman Brahmbhatt

One of the best and iconic places. Love to visit it any time of the year sun, rain or snow. Always happening place and never feel alone. Must visit place in the US.

Darren Kilbury

I've always loved Times Square, but it's become a tourist trap. All of the smaller, mom & pop and interesting places have been driven out. Still worth visiting if you're a tourist.

Ian Dunn

What a remarkable center of a city. Locals avoid it and tourists love it, but even as a local I still go through from time to time to marvel at the lights and all of the people. Stop at the M&M shop or the Disney store, or even at H&M and just take it all in!!

Nathan Carroll

Loved it. Everything I expected and way more. Food, people watching, loud, crazy, and perfect! The world at its best and most diverse. We will come back for sure.

f m

The "city that never sleeps" at it's best, at Times Square as a perfect example. No matter what time of day or night, Times Square is filled with energy, locals and tourists from all over the world! Every tourist needs to experience our famous Times Square, where you can grab a late night bite, drink, amazing Broadway and Off Broadway shows or just relax at outdoor seating and people watch!

Brandewynne

Definitely bright and not many places like it I guess? For me, it was overstimulating but I am glad that I was able to see it! There are much better things to do in NYC

Grant Cox

Amazing experience. Loved the bus sight seeing package we purchased. Including a boat ride out to the iconic statue of liberty. Several shows on Broadway " Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera and the Book of Mormon on Broadway. Outstanding experience. By tickets late to get them cheaper. The smell was the only part that wasn't the best.

Elaf Mohammed

i dont think times square needs my humble recommendation but i ll share my personal experience. first of all this place is iconic and it the playground of many events films and many many other things i recommend to read about this place before or at lease during your trip to it it will make the experience more fruitful i know this awkward but i recommend to touch the walls of building their you will the energy of NYC wish you great time there please try to visit during day and night because its different experience

Wesley

The entitled say to avoid it, but it is one of the most famous free sights in the city. Last Saturday, we got great street food right there on Broadway. We passed through several times during our week of exploring, averaging 12 miles a day. Everybody should ignore the naysayers to some by at least once.

Chris Hale

If you want the "City that Never Sleeps" experience, this is the place to go. Definitely gives you the feeling of being at the center of New York. But it is too crowded and busy for my taste. Generally a safe and fun area, and if you are visiting New York for the first time it is worth checking out, but if you are not a fan of crowds it can be rather overwhelming.

Chris Joyce

Still a very popular tourist stop in the city. Even after visiting many times over many years, I still like a quick stroll through when I am in the city. But make sure you venture off in the other vibrant parts of the city to really experience the character of New York.

J Stevens

Absolute madness but if you’ve never been a NYC must do. It’s a happening lively place with excessive amounts of people, hoopla, lights and chaos but it’s also super cool just to see and be in that experience!! Tons of restaurants, shops and things to do!

Melissa Lester

What an amazing place to visit. A must if you're in NY. So iconic! The energy there is contiguous! Definitely visit at night. Literally felt like I was inside of my TV

Nataki Petty

It has been about 15 years since I last visited time square and my it has really changed. It is more pedestrian friendly and a lot cleaner. There were lots of places to sit in the center to just absorb everything in. NYC never disappoints!

ramesh rochwani

Lovely place... Can spend a few hours watching people paying by... Tourists from all over the world... Funny characters putting up shows... Place lits up in the evening... Open till late in the night..

Walter Whitt

Super nice people! Great food! Had an order I couldn't eat because I forgot some of my medications and they offered to take it off the check. Really kind and considerate. Didn't even have to ask. Definitely will be going back when I'm around midtown.

amit laddha

Lovely please to charge you up. Four stars because very difficult to find public toilets. Tip: In case of emergency you can use Hard Rock Cafe restroom. Very friendly staff.

SoloTrekker ExplorerStanley

Born and raised in New York City, I still walk around Times Square as if I was a tourist visiting NYC for the first time. I’ve been to the New Year’s Eve celebration 8 times and I still get excited thinking about and planning for next December 31st. I love Times Square, I love New York. I may not always live here, but it’ll forever be in my heart.

Dileep Kumar Olibiri

One of the very busiest place I've seen in United States of America. Lot of happenings and fun to be place, but staying here would be a great challenge to-be place.

Sara Boyer

Highly recommend!!! Its such a sensory overload but its so cool to see all the signs lit up! there is great shopping and restaurants all over Times Square. Cool place to visit!

hummerguy 16

Honestly this is a place that's always been built up as amazing. To me it wasn't really that special cool to be in a historic place but beyond that it was okay.
