REVIEWS OF Statue of Liberty National Monument IN New Jersey

Great boat trip. Great views of the city looking from the water. The Ellis island museum was done in the way that Americans do so well. Informative wide ranging and air conditioned. Picture from manhattan Bridge.

Tomasz Czado

Amazing feeling when you can be there and you realize you've seen this place hundred times in movies, documents, etc. My recommendation is to buy the ticket that allows you to get to the pedestal. That gives you a chance to see how Statue Of Liberty is built and gives you a chance find a better view on Manhattan then when you only walking around statue.

Senthil Acs

Spent a wonderful time there. There was a long queue to get into the ferry but it was worth the wait. The ferry ride was amazing because of the cool wind and the view of the main land. The one World Trade center was looking great and majestic from the ferry. The statue was worth the visit. You get eatables there as you will get hungry spending hours Here. An overall beautiful experience.

Matthew Rogers

Much ad you would expect. Really amazing to see this iconic statue in real life and up close. With amazing views back across to New York and from around. For New York this is also one of the better value attractions, as you get a ferry ride each way + going up the statue. Then a walk around Elise island. All for less than most towers charge just to go up. I would say this is a must to all visitors.

Rohit Mullick

Amazing! Everyone needs to go at least once. The new museum is included with the ferry fee. My teens loved it. There was enough to be entertaining and they enjoyed the interactive displays. Lady Liberty stands tall and dignified, which is breathtaking from any angle. What a beautiful beacon of hope!

Shenika Smith

The tickets were about 19 dollars per adult if my memory serves to be correct. You go through airport style security, even though it's very quick, but that makes you feel safe while on the island. It's a short boat ride over that stops at Ellis Island and boats you past the scenic New York landscape. I loved it!! Also, there are professional photographers there that take pictures of you for 9 dollars a piece. We got 5 pictures for 45 dollars! Sooooo worth it!! The food there was good but pricey as you would expect. It was affordable though. The souvenir shop was one of the best in New York, only thing is that most of the souvenirs located within the shop we're pertaining to the statue of liberty. It's a nice outing for the entire family. We enjoyed it!!

Flavio Bonacordi

A must see. Very interesting. The museum in the Liberty Island is very interesting. The ferry that depart from the NJ is way less crowded than the one that comes from NY. Same for the return. Go back to the NJ it's way easy then go back to NY.

Mark Wishnia

Well for those looking to see the Statue of Liberty, this is it. It's worth noting that Liberty Island doesn't particularly have too much to offer. Other than the statue, there is a museum which has a lot of great information and artifacts but it isn't super large. You can spend a decent chunk of time there but don't expect to spend all day on Liberty Island. You'll likely spend more time on Ellis Island than Liberty Island.

Andrew Bolton

We had booked our tickets before leaving home. Even though we had a time we got on the ferry early no problem. Get there early if you can as obviously it's busy. Well organized though. Enjoyed the museum on both islands. Value for money all the way.

Thulasi Kashyap

Icon of America is a must see. Nothing like seeing Lady Liberty up close and personal. Must take a ferry from Battery Park. Arrive prior to your ferry ticket time as you will have to go through security (airport style). Boats are wheelchair accessible but must purchase a special ticket. Wheelchairs are not provided at battery park. The boat ride is quick to Liberty island where you can spend as much time as you want. Then the boat will take you to Ellis Island. Finally the boat returns to NYC. Wonderful experience.

Mirlene Charles

Historical site with the statue of liberty from France they have these phone that can translate captions under pictures and give a brief summary into different languages when you press the number, it can be very crowded and you can only take the ferry that you have to pay for based on age to get there. There is a gift store bathrooms, museum, telescopes to look off the island. And if you want to enter the statue you'd have to pay many months in advance (like 12 tbh). And the prices are higher if you want to get into the crown and a little less if you want to go on the pedestal. But you can take pictures at the base with the statue behind you.

Tip: Even if your ticket has a time slot, you can go earlier which I recommend. Our ticket was at 12:00 and we were let in at 11 am (Security didn't mind and happens often). Due to the sheer size of the crowds going to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty and the rides in between go as early as you can.

Jeanmarie Arman

A must visit when in New York. We took the Statue Cruises which gets you right to the island. Excellent ferry! Very nice. Worth every penny. The statue is absolutely beautiful. If you do get pedestal tickets I advise to take the elevator. We took the stairs and we are in decent shape but it made us exhausted the rest of the day. The views from the pedestal are beautiful. Highly recommend! Also GO EARLY! It gets packed really fast. We took the first ferry.

Joan Stearns

It was a great experience. Since it's been on my bucket list for a while, I was not disappointed. Seeing it up close was fantastic. While we didn't have time to go into the pedestal, it was still awesome. The Statue Museum was also very interesting and gave a very good understanding of the Statue's creation. My mom was in a scooter and things were very accessible, including the ferry.

Destinations Untold

The Statue of Liberty was really incredible to see. With your ticket it also includes Ellis island and guide. If you have limited time you can get to the Statue of Liberty and back in around 2 hours. In my opinion $23 US is definitely worth just seeing the The Statue of Liberty, but if you have the time definitely do Ellis Island which you'd need to allow 4 to 6 hours for both depending on how busy it is. Also included is one amazing view of the NYC skyline.

Mark Cha

freedom is not free. it's $18.5 to take the cruise from Manhattan. but seriously, get here and take the time thanking to people who had bled to achieve the free world that we are enjoying to live in and walk around slowly listening to Akon's freedom. it's truly amazing.

Ileana Madarnaz Ho

Awesome place, very organized, food was great! Try the onion rings, is a must! Need to check the schedules for the ferry and which ferry is the one you need to take, one is for the Ellis Island and another one is for the Statue of Liberty. 2 gift shops, one restaurant. Lockers cost 0.25 ¢, you have to leave almost everything in the lockers to enter. Had a blast! Totally recommended!!!

Visiting New York for the first time I had to go see the iconic landmark. I would never forget the experience I had when visiting. It’s a must to do if your ever in New York. Reasonable price too and you get to have a mini ferry trip to the island where the Statue of Liberty is based. Part of your ticket you get to go the museum where people used to come before entering the United States. Overall had an amazing experience.

Andrew Dawson

An incredible monument and symbol of liberty in the USA. Having seen pictures and videos of this icon in books, TV, film all my life, it was amazing to actually come and visit for myself. We didn't go up to the crown, but went to the level just below and that was absolutely fine. The stairs up to the crown looked rather cramped and wouldn't suit anyone with any degree of claustrophobia! The views from the balcony level were absolutely fine.

Chris Reed

Every self-respecting American should visit this place. Well, tourists, too, of course. It is a symbol of the independence of the United States. This is a world-wide monument. And the view of the city from a height is impressive. Must visit!

Carrie Natale

Amazing! Everyone needs to go at least once. The new museum is included with the ferry fee. My teens loved it. There was enough to be entertaining and they enjoyed the interactive displays. Lady Liberty stands tall and dignified, which is breathtaking from any angle. What a beautiful beacon of hope!

2dope 4ya

Great place to take your family and learn from where most people originated from lots of history and historical memorabilia had information. Strongly recommend you take your kids to this place and there also is a go kart place on the way so you can convince them with that lol. I strongly recommended and would be a beautiful time to go in the fall or spring seasons. The only bad part is it takes 6 months prior to going to get inside of the Statue of Liberty most people don't know that so sure if you want to go to the inside of the Statue of Liberty you call him up and find out all the information and facts you need.

Edita Bailey

Great value for the price. One of the best and most affordable attractions in NYC. Highly recommend. Took the tour for $18.50- beware of other ticket and tour sellers for a lot more, such as $31.50. They try to get you on the street before you get to the ticket office at the main pier.

Rabeea Jabbar

Such a lovely touristy attraction. A classic, timeless place for locals and tourists. The view of lady liberty is incredible but so is the view of surrounding areas. It's so nice. Definitely check out the gift shop, they have some cool stuff.

Chris Haynes

It's the statue of liberty! What's not to love. I highly recommend booking a time to climb to the top if you're physically able. It is close to 200 steep steps, but what a view once on top. If is quite interesting to see the inside of the statue too. There is a new museum on the island with a lot of interesting tidbits as well.

Babs Learoyd

Fantastic trip out and went up to the pedestal. Stunning views of Manhattan from the boat as we went to the statue. The statue certainly is more impressive to look at close up, didn't wait long to get into the pedestal however be warned if you take the lift there's quite a queue, and not many in the lift at a time. The view from Lady Liberty herself was great as you walk around her. Definately put on your list to do if in NYC.

Neil

Iconic statue, it was worth the wait and the ferry ride to see her up close. The site is a national park and is run by park rangers, on the island there are toilets, cafes, gift shops and a couple of museums. If you collect national park stamps, then you can get your national park passport stamped in the main gift shop for free. You aren't allowed to take food or bags into the statue but you can deposit your belongings into lockers outside. You deposit 25 cents to use a locker but you get the money back.

Riol Matamoros

Excellent place to have a great day. I love everything. I get the ferry in Liberty Park and everything was fast and easy. You can get food in the ferry and in the Island and there the Lemonade was amazing

Bill Lau

Really cool to see it in person. Nice ferry ride. Beautiful park. Plan on the whole day at the statue. Nice Cafe for lunch. Can get busy and long lines. Great views of the city.

Sem Ekkelboom

What a lovely place to visit. The statue is absolutely beautiful and the museum next to it is fun to visit and free. You'll understand more of the history of this statue. I haven't been in the statue because that was pretty expensive.

The museum is a very modern building designed with intention inside and out. The outside of the building serves as a place to rest on it's bleacher like structure. If you venture to it's peak, you will a great vantage point offering picture perfect vistas of NYC as well as Ellis island. Inside the building you have the chance to learn everything you need about lady liberty, from inception to modern day. The way they laid everything out is quite captivating and doesn't require much time to experience.

Francisco Gallardo

Amazing! I have the opportunity of visiting Start Island, after my first visit 18 years ago, this time I brought my wife and kids. I love the new museum. God Bless The USA

Nice place to visit!! It may take an entire day to complete travel and enjoy this place with family and friends !!! It is important to understand the timing of tickets and ferry to and from the station to the island and the Statue of Liberty. Those who are interested in learning more about the history, the museum on the island is the best place to learn. Subsequently, another ferry ride will be needed to the Statue of Liberty from the island. This place has gift shops and food court along with many nice spots to take family pictures. For visiting to the actual monument, you need to put all your baggage into the locker box. I would definitely recommend this place as must visit but please have sometime at least 4 to 5 hours to fully enjoy this experience.

The lady well known through out the world..... Our Lady of Liberty.... A witness to the centuries of struggle, freedom and prosperity. The monument itself is very meaningful and beautiful. It will appear even more meaningful if one goes through the happenings a century ago. A must see and learn Historic and Iconic place. The audio tour is great. Well maintained.

What a great experience. Take the time to see the Free museum and talk to a park ranger. You will learn a lot. Well kept. Gorgeous views from ferry.

Cassie Newman

Beautiful Weather. Amazing Views of Downtown NY. The Statue of Liberty is breathtaking! A must for everyone visiting New York City. Lady Liberty represents so much and there is so much history you can feel it.

Aaron Dias

One of the coolest monuments to see live. We did the guided tour which covered the Statue of Liberty. It was well worth it. There are lots of things to do around New York City but doing the guided tour is well worth it. The service was excellent and our host was the best and very funny.

Visakan M

One word to describe? Breathtaking. Its on Liberty island next to Ellis island. Took the ferry and visited both islands in January. Awesome place to look at. The statue is huge and looms above you. If you have a clear day the scene is breathtaking. Since it was winter, we escaped the crowds but there are lots and lots of people. Heard in Summer its wall to wall people. The souvenir shop has so many nice stuff we couldn't resist buying lots for friends and family members. You could spend hours here. Minimum you need at least 2 hours in the island. The statue is spectacular at every angle let alone from the ferry. Very memorable visit.

Poonam Mane

This is the best place I have been to in my NYC trip. It's on the liberty island which is accessible by ferry from battery park. There is a security check just like airport hence please make sure not to carry any food item apart from water bottle. You can purchase ticket before visiting island . There are two types of tickets 1.pedestal view 2 . crown view You can purchase crown view ticket which provides amazing views of the city through statue's crown. However it involves climbing a lot of stairs inside. There is a new museum started on the back side of statue. This museum is awesome

Giuseppe Passalacqua

The statue is impressive. Really amazing! The point of view from pedestal is simply amazing! Worth a visit in New York!!! Pity for cruise management...long queue under sun to take the ticket and to get in boat... In add we bought the city pass some day before, but this it was not enough to save us the queue and the sun..unlucky we found one of the most sunny day of 2019 summer in NY...

Helen7178 Holmes

Lovely place. Lots of history and very informative. Excellent audio tour included in the ticket price. A word of warning if you want to go inside you need to pre book months in advance as only a limited number of tickets.

Keith Roussel

I have seen photos of it all my life and was delighted to finally visit this great symbol of liberty. I was able to obtain tickets with pedestal access the night before. Buy tickets direct from Statue Cruises because all other sites seem to charge as much as 30% more. You don't need to show up more than 15-30 minutes before your ferry's departure. Be prepared to go through a security checkpoint before boarding. If you have pedestal or crown access you will need to leave backpacks and drinks in a locker at the base of the statue. Take photos of the Statue as you are cruising to it and take photos of Manhattan as you return. There are so many great views. I took the stairs up tot he pedestal instead of the elevator. Even with my bad knees I was easily able to handle it. The pedestal balcony is very slim, so it can get crowded quickly. There is a nice museum to visit that discusses the history and construction of the statue.

The Statue of Liberty was a joint effort between France and the United States, intended to commemorate the lasting friendship between the peoples of the two nations. The French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi created the statue itself out of sheets of hammered copper, while Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel, the man behind the famed Eiffel Tower, designed the statue’s steel framework. The Statue of Liberty was then given to the United States and erected atop an American-designed pedestal on a small island in Upper New York Bay, now known as Liberty Island, and dedicated by President Grover Cleveland in 1886. Over the years, the statue stood tall as millions of immigrants arrived in America via nearby Ellis Island; in 1986, it underwent an extensive renovation in honor of the centennial of its dedication. Today, the Statue of Liberty remains an enduring symbol of freedom and democracy, as well as one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks.

I loved it!! I plan on definitely coming back again to hopefully go inside the museum, the pedestal, and lady liberty herself. Whoever is going to the Statue of Liberty please stay awhile on Ellis island and learn some history I strongly recommend it! And if you want to go in the pedestal and lady liberty I was told you have to plan it 2 weeks in advance and buy the tickets online it's the only in the statue and pedestal. Have fun people!! Its definitely a beautiful experience!!!

Jessica Galvan

We went on a day that had almost no lines (only had to cue to get on the ferry, and the elevator for the pedestal as we had pedestrian passes). Awesome view from it and from the fort. The museum was alright, not the most interesting one. Would recommend to visit at least once!

Allan Valentine

Great to be on the ground under the gaze of the famous statue. It's a great short boat ride with many photo opportunities during the journey. A large cafeteria provides a wide range of food, hot, cold and alcoholic drinks and lemonade and ice cream is available from another concession behind the statue.

Not A Yeti

Wonderful tribute to freedom! I loved the video series. The history of the artist's idea, its development and actualization is much different than common stories. The concept of placing a massive Lady with the Torch of Freedom in America by New York City came to the artist amid the French revolution and from a dearth of human freedom around the world. His hope was that placing his Statue of Liberty where it is would spread liberty and human freedom throughout the world. Wonderful experience.

Cody Firestone

Must see and do if you have a WHOLE DAY in NYC. If you want to go up in the crown or inside you need to plan early and buy you passes 6 MONTHS in advance!! The ferry ride is a lot of fun. I suggest you get on the right hand rail on top for the best photos. Definitely go inside the museum and head left for the video show. Fun and informative! With swooping images of the lady herself and interesting history about her construction. It’s worth every bit of the 12 minutes. The concession food is actually pretty good and not too crazy expensive. The gift shop leave a lot to be desired, but it has an air conditioned cafe. On the second part of the trip get on the left side of the ship for pictures of ELLIS ISLAND. If you felt that a bit tired after part 1. There is a very air conditioned theater with a 1/2 hour show. It’s great for a cooling nap! Take your time at Ellis Island. There is an immigrant “gate to the Freedom” self guided tour which is included. Totally worth it!

Tapas Sasmal

From the moment of its dedication, the Statue of Liberty has been an enigmatic monument, a powerful symbol of the tensions between national independence and universal human rights. The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designated as a National Monument in 1924. Employees of the National Park Service have been caring for the colossal copper statue since 1933.

doretha hancock

I love American history. So i like to visit historical land Mark's. This is certainly a time tested one that has been taken care of. A real lady of beauty. Enjoy your trip to see our lady of liberty soon.

Michel de Ligt

The most iconic part of New York. There has been some changes over the years. You can't go on the grass next to the statue. Fences have been placed which makes the pictures less nice. They did make a nice improvement with the museum on the island. Food court could have some more indoor seating.

Prashant Nagda

It’s really beautiful place. The grand Statue of Liberty is awe inspiring and humbling. It’s equally beautiful on all days and any time of the day. If you plan to take lot of pictures, then a sunny day would be best and the statue would look beautiful against the blue sky. The New York skyline is also visible from the shore and that is breath taking too. The audio tour they have is very informative and adds to the experience. The ferry is very convenient and has good frequency. When you wait in the queue for your ferry, make sure you are in the right queue. There are separate queue for new York bound tour and New Jersey bound tour. It easy to get confused and reach a wrong destination. Ellis island is also covered in the ferry tour and it has a good canteen too. The gift shop at the monument has great stuff and you are sure to find something in your budget. We took the ferry from New Jersey and it’s has ample paid parking close to the ferry. The 9/11 monument at the New Jersey ferry station is worth visiting as well.

Perhaps the highlight of any first visit to NYC. A trip that everyone should make. You won't be disappointed. It's not an expensive trip but do book as early as you can as you might be able to gain access to the pedestal, or even the crown if you wanted to. I was not able to get into the crown as the tickets are very limited. I think its not a huge space hence the low numbers. Liberty Island is a lovely setting. The boat trip is around 15 mins and the statue looms up as you approach. Make sure you take the right hand side if the boat for the best view but you can't miss her. The exhibitions are very informative and you get a real feeling of affection that the Americans have towards this landmark. It's a real beacon of hope and freedom. Allow at least 2 hours to see everything, and take a picnic. You could spend the whole day there just taking in the monument and the view back over to Manhattan. Worth every cent.

Amazing!!! We were there for a quick trip and made a last min plan to see the statue and Ellis island. It was amazing and well worth it!! I would suggest planning ahead of time and plan on most the day. The ferry ran every 15 min but it takes a while to get on due to crowds. There's not much options for food and drinks and definitely take some with you.

Richard Musgrove

The Statue of Liberty was great and the museum was wonderful. You should definitely take the time to walk through the theatre. The videos were a perfect walk through the Statue of Liberty’s history.

Rick Jewell

Wonderful to be able to be so close to this iconic statue. We travelled in September. The crowds were not huge. The ferry over was half empty, but the ferry to Ellis Island was crammed full. The Ferries are very regular and the queue to board not huge. Lovely Coffee Bar to sit and observe the New York harbour.

Glen Mc Call

A great trip! There is plenty to explore here on the island even without going into the statue. Make sure to get the audio tour of the statue - it is free. The story on this audio is fantastic and guides you around the entire statue giving it's history and personal stories of those who's lives have been touched by her. If you have children, make sure you stop by the National Parks building before doing anything else. Ask for the Junior Ranger booklet. Children who finish the booklet while on the island can then turn it in for a Junior Ranger badge.

Shelley Myers

Awesome place, all the people that work here are amazing. From the elevator guy to all those on the ferry minus the one girl behind the snack bar who obviously didn't want to work but other than that definitely worth the buy. If you can buy tickets to go up to the pedestal or crown, only 500 available yearly!

John

Absolutely stunning and beautiful I think everyone should try visit at least once, stunning views, brilliant museum. The ferry over was relaxing and swift it's a big statue and it rightly stands very tall and proud. Had a brilliant time. Very educational and very good your. Brilliant history lesson I totally recommend to all.

Very organized . Ferry ride was great. The museum was so informative. Clean. Great all round experience. Had a fun time with family

It's a must go place if you visit New York or even US. You can feel the spirit of America and also the history. The park is beautiful with great view to the ocean and Manhattan. Make sure come early or book online if you want to go up inside the statue.

Pravin Charles Vaz

Probably one of the best museum experiences ever! Even though it was small, it has been done really well. To get up the monument and torch you need to prebook tickets. Go late September and the queues will be shorter. Ticket includes ferry ride. Make sure to stop at Ellis island on the way back.

Ryan

Great bit of American history. Not trip to the island is complete unless you have crown tickets (book well in advance, tickets sell out very quickly) the views are amazing from the crown. The park rangers are very friendly and helpful and answer any questions you have. The new museum on the island is now home to the original torch from the statue of liberty, a must visit and get up close to the original. Only one way to get here and that's by the only official boat that's allowed to dock on the island and that's statue cruises, can also book your crown tickets on their website too.

Jill Harwell

Nice ferry ride. Beautiful park. Plan on the whole day at the statue. Nice Cafe for lunch. Can get busy and long lines. Great views of the city.

gaurav jain

Don’t take the free ferry as you hardly get to see. Spend few bucks and enjoy the breathtaking view of statue and do book the tickets in advance else you won’t get it especially over the weekend. There is one garden which is well maintained and one can witness amazing view of Manhattan, New York bridge. It’s important to visit to put a tick mark on your bucket list.

Andy Ng

Beautiful and enjoyable visit at the Statue of Liberty Monument. The $18.50 entry fee gets you round-trip ferry ride along with the pedestal access. This level offers stunning 360 degree view of New Jersey, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. Your visit includes the indoor exhibit space that documents the history of the statue and it's making through time. Well worth the visit!

Malhari Madane

Main attraction point in New York. Very Inspiring Statue ahead. A must visit place during New York visit. Worth each and every penny. Very Good experience. Overall great location. One can enjoy each and every moment to the level best !!!!!!

Luis Quintero

Lucky that we had an amazing sunny day (9/15/19) lots of walking & those steps do get you tiered all the way up the crown (buy crown tickets months before if you decide to take that walk & very narrow steps, if your tall it would be a bit more tiresome having to duck down) also make sure to have Quarters for the lockers if your walking the crown they don’t allow bags taken up to the crown) (Gift shop has a ATM if need be ($2.50 ATM Fee)

Darshita Patel

A monument every American must visit. The island is so clean and the vibes are just so peaceful. You can feel the real meaning of liberty in its air. We didn’t get a chance to go to the top of the crown due to waiting list but definitely we ll visit it again. Highly recommend.

Katie Castaldi

SO COOL! She's so iconic so it was truly amazing to be right there to see her. We paid extra to go up the pedestal and it was neat! You can't see her better but your view of Manhattan, etc is better. You also get to see up inside the statute. Truly humbling to think what this beacon meant to our ancestors. To finally see here after weeks on a boat. A view that meant freedom was near!

Clément Waldbusser

Incredible place. Very efficient crew at the battery park dock. There is a boat approximately every 20 minutes for the Statue and Ellis Island. The visit of the pedestal of the Statue is very nice with a small museum explaining the story of the Statue. Recommended

This was a great place to see up close - really interesting, and very good value. If pedestal tickets are available (or even crown if you can), get them - it's worth the extra couple of dollars to see up inside the statue itself. All tickets on Statue Cruises include audio headsets, and my only criticism would be that the numbers you use to get the information on the audioguide, were not frequent enough, and often not displayed prominently. That said, the walk around the base of Wood Fort (that the statue is placed on), has plenty of places to stop and listen to the guide. Views of Manhattan are worth it too.

For everyone that supports our horrible anti immigration president this is a must visit. You can appreciate how our country grew and became a world power on the sweat and tears of immigrants. Incredible place to witness first hand how anyone can make it here without having to blame foreigners.

Such a beautiful symbol. Would recommend visiting. Go online to Statue Cruises. For $18.50 you get to Liberty Island for the Statue and also Ellis Island with audio headphones for both places. Amazing to imagine as immigrants entered the NY Harbor coming from the Atlantic Ocean from far away places traveling for days and weeks and see the Statue of Liberty. Looking at the buildings at Lower Manhattan my mind focued on how terrible it would have been to watch 9/11 from Liberty Island.

The only reason I don't give it five stars is because I was disappointed with their souvenir selection. There were much better Statue of Liberty souvenirs to be found in New York itself. Other than that, everything else was wonderful!

Alejandro Romero

If you go to NY, the visit to this historical monument it’s a must. The whole experience starts with the ferry. You can enjoy the view and see how this icon starts to get close to you. The magnificence will blow your mind! I had the chance to walk around and feel the energy and good vibes in here. The Statue of Liberty will be an icon of freedom no matter what. Great experience!

Linda Evans

Can't miss this even if your family didn't come into this Harbor when they immigrated to America. So nice if you can go on a tour of the statue. Don't skip the gift shop they have so many interesting things. Even the cafeteria is fun to eat at.

Joseph G

Still as iconic as ever. However, I do have to say that the little museum they have inside is quite outdated. The newly opened museum on the island more than makes up what's run down inside the statue monument itself.

Susan Sisco-Berry

You'll need to book well in advance--think a year!--if you want to go all the way to the top, but whether or not you're able to snatch those tickets, GO! You absolutely MUST see this wonder up close and personal! However, she also looks spectacular from a distance, and the boat ride tour that takes you over and back is really fun!

Vincenzo Prestera

The most important US symbol! You can admire the Liberty Statue taking a cruise from Battery Park (Castle Clinton office tickets) and reaching Liberty Island in just 15 minutes. On the Island you can enjoy and relax thanks to many restaurants, fast foods and souvenirs shop. From Libery Island there is also a stunning view of NYC skyline. Super suggested if you go to NYC.

Hafiz Mohammed Haneef

An iconic tribute to liberty and the concept of freedom. You might have seen countless photos and movie clips but a face to face meeting is definitely a must do item if you are in NYC or nearby. I took the beast boat and the thrill and fun on the boat made the trip more enjoyable!! Highly recommended.

What does the torch represent? The torch is a symbol of enlightenment. The Statue of Liberty's torch lights the way to freedom showing us the path to Liberty. Even the Statue's official name represents her most important symbol "Liberty Enlightening the World". The Statue's current replacement torch, added in 1986, is a copper flame covered in 24K gold. It is reflective of the sun's rays in daytime and lighted by 16 floodlights at night. The original torch was removed in 1984 and is currently inside the lobby of the monument.

I was delighted to see this beautiful statue. You could see a beautiful skyline of New York City. It’s the Statue of Liberty, what else can I say about it. You will love the statue of America. Thank you for reading and have a great day

Lisa Mitchell

Fantastic interactive tour. Worth it!!! But, beware the bike taxis. They charge $6.50 per minute. Friends got stuck paying $120.00 for a 4 block ride back to hotel. Empire State building is wonderful. Go see for sure. I will go back!

Paul Kyle

Wonderful place. The audio stories are great. I had never taken time to learn the history of the statue and island itself. Great stuff.

John Kennedy

Have to go if visiting New York, plan ahead and get the pedestal or crown tickets it really adds to the visit. If they are sold out sometimes if the check the night or two before they will release extra tickets even if you have to pay admission twice it is worth it. Taking the climb and looking into the interior of the statue. Easy subway ride to Battery Park and a well orchestrated operation. Probably the best value tourist attraction in New York

Michelle Hartwig

Great time at statue of liberty. We took the ferry from new Jersey to the island (I highly recommend this as it is less crowded than the NY side). We got tickets with the pedestal access, which was a great view of the surrounding area. Also, I highly recommend trying the lemonade!

Kirk Blake

Liberty enlightening the world was awesome to see in person. Our kids enjoyed it. They also liked the audio tour for them. We learned a lot. Used the city pass to get on the boat and to Ellis island

Jeannie Culbertson

Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, especially for my mom who uses a walker. It was our first time there and we brought my mom who is in her 60s, so we could knock it off the bucket list before we all get too much older. They told us to skip the lines. They allowed her to sit on a bench then put her on board at the head of the line. It was a very wonderful and breathtaking experience, however, very crowded and still a lot of walking but definitely worth the trip!

Statue of liberty well goes without saying a unique monument between the Heart of Manhattan...Hudson river. One must visit at least once in life span... Not to be missed at any cost. Well maintained, good crowd control system and strict law and order makes it a safest place with kids and family.

Angel Angelov

That was an experience to remember. One of the most iconic monuments in the world didn't disappoint. Great view from the park around the statue and food view of Manhattan from the pedestal. The ferry was exactly on time and quite a frequent service was offered.

xeia world

Is a great place to go but sadly is very expensive, they don't make it easy for people who has low income and wants to explore more about the history involve I'll suggest who doesn't have that much money to spend to bring with you some food or snacks specially if you traveling with children's Just to give you an idea is small bottle of orange juice Tropicana will cost you $ 2.49 That is just a small bottle of juice Talking about that fruit smoothie all-natural it is not all that is the machine who does it Is already premix in a mixer To go to the top you have to make a reservation ahead of time ( understood too many people wants to climb to the top ) and the prices " well the prices" it's all about the money

Kristy Eubanks

What an awe inspiring place. Just to be that close to something so breathtaking is beyond words. If you get the chance to see her take it

Anne Fernandena

If your in New York this is worth a visit !I’ve seen it 3 times so this time I wanted a different experience so I booked tickets to go up it !!! If you don’t look small spaces this is NOT FOR YOU I’m a size 10 and felt that the space was very tight ! Once you go up there’s no going down ! We got to the crown and it was tiny I wouldn’t recommend this experience ! I think going past it on the ferry and marvelling at the sheer size of her is the best way ! Especially when it’s fogging and the sky clears it’s a great time to see her !

Chance McNeil

This was such a Beautiful sight. I can imagine the immigrants coming for across the ocean and seeing this Beautiful tribute to the land of the free! My family and I enjoyed walking around the square and in seeing Lady liberty stand straight and proud! It is Magnificent opportunity to see this Iconic piece of America. God Bless America!!

Solymar Fernandez

If you visit New York you must visit Liberty Island. It's a great experience. You learn a lot of the history of our great nation. Make sure to buy your tickets early so you can go to the top of Liberty as entry is limited. Always make sure to buy your tickets from National Park and not from street vendors.

Olivier Nimeskern

Is it the most famous monument in the world? Or is it the Eiffel Tower? Both French and both designed by Eiffel! In any case this is a must see. It takes some time to reach it and it is quite crowded, both on the boat and on the Island. But it is worth it, to be able to see the Statue so closely from below (you can even climb the stairs inside). Really worth the visit, you can do a picnic there.

Jeanne Kroutil

There is nothing like see this beauty up close. I regret not having the stamina to do both Lady Liberty and Ellis Island but to be on the boat ride and stopping off to view Lady Liberty was wonderful. They also have, for free, audio that you take with you as you walk the island and it explains the history

G Kevin Gifford DC EdD

Wonderful tribute to freedom! I loved the video series. The history of the artist's idea, its development and actualization is much different than common stories. The concept of placing a massive Lady with the Torch of Freedom in America by New York City came to the artist amid the French revolution and from a dearth of human freedom around the world. His hope was that placing his Statue of Liberty where it is would spread liberty and human freedom throughout the world. Wonderful experience.

Chuck Stehney

New museum is well done. Nice to see so many people inspired. I have never seen so many people snapping selfies in one place. Great views all around, great history, always glad you visited. BTW- Going up into the Statue, requires advanced reservations, about 6 weeks out. You don’t need to do that to enjoy an hour or two here.

Steve Myers

Looks taller than we see in movies or news. The sight is very beautiful. You can see Liberty from far away your way to this statue. I can imagine the immigrants coming for across the ocean and seeing this Beautiful tribute to the land of the freedom. . There is one garden which is well maintained and one can witness amazing view of Manhattan, New York bridge. Before going there. just read the history about it.

Nadia B

Great place to take the family, very educational, and exciting to see the historic monument. Kids enjoyed it very much. The ferry ride over to lady liberty was amazing.

Arlene Scotto

An incredible monument to American spirit and perseverance. Be prepared for a full day trip as it takes a good amount of time just to get on ferry to go there. Give yourself even more time if you wanna go inside. That said, it is so worth the time. We loved our trip here.

William Purnomo

One of the most well known landmark in the world. You’re going to get unforgettable view of New York City here. Great atmosphere, and decent price to come to this landmark. One tip that you have to remember, never ever go with or accept any kind of offer outside Liberty Statue because they’re there to scam you! Go straight to the Liberty Statue ticket booth near the shore, and you will see a line of people waiting to buy the ticket there. The average price is about $20 per adult to Ellie Island and Liberty Statue. Don’t hesitant to visit Ellie Island if you have plenty of time. One more thing, you could go up to the head of the statue if you want more view of the city, but you have to pay a bit more. Lastly, Enjoy your trip!

Heather Barton

We had booked our tickets before leaving home. Even though we had a time we got on the ferry early no problem. Get there early if you can as obviously it's busy. Well organized though. Enjoyed the museum on both islands. Value for money all the way.

Deidre Dechira

Our 1st time in NY and we went full tourist mode! Lady Liberty is amazing up close and personal, the museum gives a ton of information about Liberty Island, the artist, inside structure (I never knew Eiffel was responsible for the inside!), as well as a 3 part movie about the process of funding, creating, transporting and building of Liberty. Tickets to Statue Cruises are purchased and include Ellis Island. If you want to enter the pedestal, plan in advance, tickets sell out a month in advance and tickets up to the crown sell out about 3-4 months in advance. It was an amazing experience!
