REVIEWS OF Gulliver's Gate IN New Jersey

While on Times Square, we visited Gulliver's Gate, Ripley, and National Geographic. This attraction was by far the favorite for both the parents and the children. By NY standards, the interior space is not crowded with people and there is plenty of room to walk around and check out the exhibits. The attraction takes about 90 minutes to enjoy fully. Our favorite two exhibits were: Airport - This is a fully operational mini version of an airport. The planes actually takeoff and land and there is even a television with arrivals and departures on it. The planes and vehicles actually move around! Panama Canal - This exhibit features boats moving through the ocean and then going through the Panama Canal. It was complete with actual locks that would fill up and empty. Absolutely amazing! Our children really appreciated the small keys they were given to control the interactive portions of each exhibit. For example, the child would place a key in the keyhole and turn it and the miniatures would come to life and actually chop down a tree, or fly a hot air balloon, etc. There are probably 100 or so keyholes with interactive elements. I would not hesitate to go back again or to recommend this place to others!

If you and your kids need a break for the crowded Times Square to catch a breath, this is one good place to go. It wonderful to see all the miniature exhibits and how they have been segregated geographically. They have quite a few interactive models which keep children interested and occupied.

This exhibit is an amazing window to the world in general, and to the world of modeling specifically. There are many models of famous places all over globe, with intricate details in every one. The models have working parts with airplanes, trains, boats, trucks and cars moving around appropriately. Of special interest was the working airport, with planes landing and taking off regularly. They also can scan visitors, and make 3D models (in varying sizes) for sale, in case you ever wanted your very own action figure! We had a great time, and I think this would be interesting for a wide range of ages.

I am a life long New Yorker and not to many places surprised me like this one did. Gulliver's Gate is fantastic for kids and adults. When first visiting my jaw just dropped, I was pleasantly surprised by how beautifull the place is set up, and how intricate the detailing in the models and set ups are. I suggest this place to any New Yorker or visitor, you will not be disappointed.

Angel Daug

We were amazed by the details each city had. It was fun to do the scavenger hunt and made you focus more on the intricacies of each and every landscape. Definitely worth visiting.

One of the best museums in the midtown, it has models with lots of countries and cities from around the world. They have New England, Manhattan, Israel just too name a few. There is also an airport with a380s taking off and more. You are given a key so when the key is turned it will activate something. Lots of Easter eggs to go along aswell. There is a small gift shop downstairs but it’s not that special it’s where you can buy the tickets. You can also be put in the attraction or they could send you a 3D model of yourself too you House for an extra price. This is a must have when visiting Midtown.

Gulliver’s Gate was a whimsical surprise right in the midst of Times Square. In my group, kids and parents alike loved the detail and stories found in mini scenes set around the world. After browsing through once, we went back through a second time to find hidden gems and delightful surprises (be on the lookout for ghost busters and super heroes). Highly recommend!

Olivia Harley

This was fun not just for the kids. It was like playing Where is Waldo with Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Spider Man & Batman to name a few.

Scott Layton

I love models and this did not disappoint. Very large space with lots of engagement for the kids...probably spent about two hours there.

Kanval Tikku

What a beautiful place. The dedication of the artistes shows amply through the exhibits. You can also have a distant look of the workshop area. Highly recommended

We were looking for a way to spend free time between dinner & a show when we stumbled upon this gem. I'm so glad we did. VERY neat place! We ended up purchasing our own "action figures" (lol), which I am very excited about. It looks like they are still working towards their ultimate vision. I want to come back in a few more years and see all of the new things I'm sure they will add. Definitely worth a visit!

It was interesting to see how talented people are to make these miniature replicas. Very popular highlights of places we know or heard of. Lifelike almost. Lights alternate to reflect different time of the day/night. Interactive activities mixed in. You get a key that turns in certain locks. This allows certain activities such as chickens getting fed, bull fight, dancing in the displays. Theres one where you can take a photo of yourself and see it in the Niagara Falls. You also get option of making a replica of yourself to be shipped home for a fee if interested.

Great interactive miniatures from around the world. Fun Easter eggs to find also. Even have a chance to be apart of the exhibit with the "model citizen" program. Very fun.

Vibhav Mehrotra

Great place to take kids. All exhibits are very detailed. Absolute joy to go.

Kaeleigh Moore

It was wonderful to see some of the cities around the word miniaturized in such detail. One of the staff I believe her name was Maya pointed out some hidden surprises such as Peter Pan . If you are interested in doing a scavenger hunt there is a list of things to find. A great way to spend a few hours.

Krunal Shimpi

One of best attractions in New York. Place for visiting with family. Here you will see small model of airport with aircraft flying and landing demo. You also see miniature forms of all wonders in world like Tajmahal, Great China Wall and all.

Akshay Agrawal

Highly detailed - best miniature world I have seen (among a few others).

Cristina Dragoi

Interesting but quite small exhibition, not very interactive. Very good ideea with the activating keys that you can take home as a souvenir. Too high admission fees for the scarce offering.

Guy Zimmerman

Fantastic exhibition for kids. See the whole world. Amazing miniature models! Interactive.

Vijay Geddam

Never been to a Miniature world. This place is awesome. Every piece is built in detail and you can see the effort of craftsmanship . Super like and recommend to everyone.

Hila Naus

A great museum to come with friends, family and kids! Highly recommend it if you’re looking for an activity indoors. I spent there around two hours. Staff is also very nice.

Whisper

This is an awesome miniature museum. Don't miss it. The displays are room size, different countries, all made by people who live in that area. Make sure you look for the hidden scenes of things like Ghost Busters, flying saucers, transformers and many more.

Light Spark

I went there as a field trip for school. It was a fun experience with many fun things to look at. As my first time going to a miniature structure museum I rate it five stars because how they made it fun to see Easter eggs and or spiderman, batman, the Ghostbusters and much more included in the miniatures. The first thing that you see is a miniature model airport with working planes that fly.

Its a great place had a blast everything miniature. Its incredible some of the things you see there. They give you a key to activate the attractions to bad you have to return them at the end of the day. Its lots of walking half a day event. They have little countries. They also have s machine to make yourself into a miniature. Its over 100$$.

This place has amazing sites from all over the world that look real. Some of them even come to life! The place is a little pricey but I would definitely return.

Michel de Ligt

Didn't know what to expect, it's very nice and bigger then expected. Just steps away from times square. The world in miniature and the option to interact with the display with a key they provide. Our 6 year old loved it here and did two rounds in the museum.

Amy Landa

Cute activity! I went with my husband on a rainy day to kill some time and we enjoyed looking at the miniature representations of cities all over the world. I would say it’s definitely more of a place to take kids, as adults we got bored pretty quickly but it was still a nice experience.

Thomas Engelthaler

Easily the best attraction in New York. Miniature worlds put together by people who clearly love their craft. I was swept away by the attention to detail.

Anup Sunny

This place reminds me of the Gulliver's travels story when I was a kid. Must visit if you are in newyork and close to times square. well the ticket seems to be a bit pricey but the models were amazing. They actually have a live working airport model where flights I mean real flights take off and landing and taxi and go to terminals. Kids would absolutely love it. You can spend as much as 1 hr to half a day in this place.

K. W.

The place is so impressive!! Absolutely worth the visit!! Interesting to go with or without children. Well organized and wide place. Upon entry, you are given a key to use in the boxes available throughout the exhibit. The key makes some exhibit items move. The place has a breastfeeding booth for new mothers, this shows how the place cares about the smallest details!

Austin Lunn

Very cool, great for children. The scavenger hunt is fun for the whole family and even provides some challenge finding pop culture icons and other stuff in the scenes. Some of the exhibits have parts that animate upon turning a key, unfortunately majority of these keys had been twisted so far (probably by kids) that they snapped rendering them useless. They need a better system for those so everyone may get the full experience.

Anat Sharir-Elperin

Amazing attraction. Allow at least 90 minutes. It may look not too big space to cover but there are many little details to look at. Very friendly staff. Search for discount on Groupon.

Roger K.

This place is awesome! You can spend literally hours, and you will still find new details everywhere. Know that childlike feeling of wonder? That's what this place does.

Kim Hazlett

Awesome exhibit. Technicians willing to share the mechanics and technical knowledge of the build. Great place for children and includes a scavenger hunt. Amazing how they miniaturized 31 cities of the world. There is a working airport, as well, compete with planes taking off and landings. Also, you get a key to the world!

Terry Gitnick

This was an unexpected adventure. The rooms of miniatures are beautifully detailed and fascinating to explore.

Ariana Pavon

What a magical time we had!! Well worth the admission fee and I can't imagine how much work must have gone into making this place. My 8-year-old loved the interactive experiences with the key.

asl nirupama

Unique experience of enjoying miniature version of so many beautiful things/places in the world. We had a group-on deal. It is a mini- world tour. Highly recommend.

anupama rohira

I loved it.coz may be I am fascinated about miniature world and I used to fantasize about it even before I read any books or watched any TV or movies about it.. It was beautiful n mesmerizing, very detailed n lovely. I wish there was a way for them to make the unveiling more dramatic and mysterious

This was my second trip to the Gate, first time about 2 years ago. At that time the airport was not functional, therefore warranted another trip! I enjoyed that first visit obviously, but wish I had not gone back. Note: Any videos in my review that include operating trains are from my first visit. The staff was as friendly as usual, willing to greet you and handle any questions you had about the dioramas. However, there was stark inactivity on the layouts, and the main reason I regretted returning. While the street vehicles were operational, only two trains in the were running in the entire place, for a total of 8 cars. To top it all off, the working water locks on the Panama Canal(?) were broken, as well as a couple of the mini displays. I’ve seen hobby store windows more lively than this. Oh yes, the airport I went back to see? Half the time the planes got jammed or knocked off track. I saw the operator almost as much as the planes! So this place might be worth your time if you are visiting NY and have some time to kill, alternately if this is your thing, especially if you haven’t seen anything like this before. The cost is high for what I saw today. I will not go back unless something significant is added. One last thing, go shopping around for the tickets, I found some that were 20% less than even GG's online discounted price.

Very interesting place! You can travel around the world in minature form. Beautiful details

Aviran Mordo

Wonderful experience, you get to see and interact with the miniatures building from all over the world. Recommended for the entire family. It is a bit pricy though but if you have an hour or two to spare you should go

Frank Rice

A really fun set of exhibits. The ones they have at the door and the first ones you see the airport ones upon entering made you feel like it was kind of tourist trappy. But then once you got into the Asian area after those initial areas the place became really amazing. Highly recommended. Perhaps not for really little kids though.

Anne Fernandena

Our family, ages 10 to 65, enjoyed Gulliver's Gate. Great idea giving us keys to operate several of the displays. And it was awesome to see a replica of some of the most famous buildings in the world. Much better than just seeing a picture. I can't even imagine how much work went into designing and building these cities. And I laughed out loud at the departure schedule posted in the airport room and of course the hidden Yoda. Can't help but wonder what I missed.

Erin Cummins

Brilliant time well spent here at Gulliver’s Gate at Times Square, New York!

Jenny Somerville

Very cool displays. It is a great place to check out with kids especially on a rainy day in NYC. It is fun for adults too. Like an I Spy book looking for all the tiny things in random places like Yoda and Luke Skywalker in the woods at the airport. Very well done and you can pay to be scanned an turned into a miniature but that is a little pricey but a great souvenir or,choose a cheaper version to be part of the display

Richard Rosenfeld

This is a very special set of exhibits. They are interactive and constantly turning from day to night mode. It is pricey. VERY pricey. If you go with a school group it's a gamble. You might be the only group and have a much better …

So amazing. Not sure why this place isn't more known. Cant wait to take my daughter.

Maurice Glover

If you're a miniature fan you'll love this place Very detailed and a lot of it is interactive They have two sample miniatures in the lobby if you're on the fence Seemed short for the price so really take your time in there There's a secret superhero figure hunt too Also wished the gift shop was a little more robust

Sandip Ray

A real wonderland right off the Times Square.. Self guided tour through the miniature world. Completely Indoor. A place for all age groups.. I would surely recommend to step in here, does worth a family visit. Negatives- no parking (usual for NYC) but lot of paid parks are around.. no food courts just a soda vending...

Samuel Murphy

Absolutely mind-blowing displays featuring famous locations from around the world lovingly recreated by hand. Absolutely worth the price of admission, just be sure to eat beforehand as personally I spent almost two hours in the exhibit.

Brian O’Conner

The employees were very helpful and friendly. The miniature world was awesome! I would definitely come back.

Reading Penguin

I enjoyed this so much more than I expected to. I never go to midtown but I would brave the crowds again if someone I knew wanted to go here. The scavenger hunts are a really neat touch and it's fun to see what types of things everyone notices because everybody seems to see different details. I, for instance, noticed penguins sneaking into the theater in Russia and Hamilton being rowed back across the Hudson after being shot while a frantic Angelica and Eliza wait on the dock. Amazing.

Rahul Kumar

Little kid enjoyed a lot. Good fun for adults too. One problem was that some exhibits are placed quiet high and kids shorter than 50 inches, have difficulty viewing. Getting to keep the 'Key', was the highlight for little kids.

Caterina Ca

AWESOME. This gallery is a beautiful place to go if you want to be impressed. I think that the beautiest thing in seeing the places were you've been. BEAUTIFUL

Jhin

Very cool place to visit once in a life time. Can tell they put extreme effort on making these. Very good details. And get to know how other countries look. Very good experience. Place is little small tho takes about 30 to 40 min to see everything.

Charlie Simkoff

Fascinating place here and Anyone of any age will appreciate it. Definitely happy I went. As a real New Yorker I don't always let myself get involved in the "touristy" stuff but this was good.

Maria Manoela Porto

Great to take the kids for a world travel in mini size! It's a quick attraction, not mandatory if you are visiting NYC in a rush, but totally worth it with kids. Hands up for the work they do there.
