REVIEWS OF Battery Park IN New Jersey

Patisa Kielau

It was nice to lounge around in a bit of shade while our 9 year old was enjoying the splash pad. Although it was more of a sprinkler area, she loved it. We also liked walking around the waterfront.

ehizogie imasuen

The park is beautiful. The views are great, you can see Staten Island and the Peeks of New Jersey. An amazing attribute of the park is the East Coast Memorial which adorns the names of the thousands of individuals who lost their lives in the Atlantic Ocean while fighting World War II.

Eduardo Mercuri

Beautiful view of Manhattan, and great walk along the East River. People go hang out in the sun during summer.

Ran Kam

Great area to visit, relax, and pick up some souvenirs from the street vendors. Much cheaper than Times Square but didn't hit Chinatown in Brooklyn.

Amr Mo

Nice park and view. The statue of liberty is a bit far from this spot. I recommend heading to a closer spot if you want better pictures.

Prakash Jha

Very lively place. We went to this place to take Staten island ferry and have a view of statue of liberty ( FOR FREE). Only hassle is that you have to go Staten island . We went there did some shopping in mall near ferry stop and then came back to NY.

David Owen

Battery Park is an amazing park. One of my friends was living there and we were going there to run in the morning at sometimes at late night. Great spot for taking pictures because the views are amazing. The park is very clean all the time and full of people. You go there for long walk or to run, if you are going there to run just go early in the morning because the weather is going to be better.

Mr. 1985

For it being the first time going I figured I'd be pulling up to an actual park.. since that wasn't the case I went in a circle twice driving trying to figure out where it's at I finally said let's just park we all know parking is crazy so I end up using a paid garage nearby which only took credit cards.. The park is really huge lots of attractions we did a fairy ride to the statue of liberty and also to Ellis island I believe is the name they have food on fairy little very pricey but the do have a so called restaurant at Ellis island

Sashikala Babu

Great place to wait for family who go to visit the statue of liberty or Ellis island. They have good shade and chairs for those who would like to rest. There are many food carts around , restroom facility and a small water fountain for the kids to play during the summer.

elizabeth labbe

This place was beautiful! And there’s a bike trail that goes through a lot of Manhattan! I didn’t get to ride all of it though! But there’s also a ferry which you can take to Staten Island and back for free! The Sea Glass ride was very inexpensive and just awesome to watch! Sunset here was great too!

Preston Gibson

Parking is ridiculously expensive, but most attendants are nice and take good care of your vehicle. Contrary to popular belief, there are a lot of friendly & helpful people in this area.

Amy Young

Very clean, lots to do and see. Beautiful views of the harbor and the statue of liberty. Only drawback is being constantly approached by pushy "vendors" selling ferry tickets.

John Joannou

We had a lovely time here on a hot sunny day. There are great views of the river and the ferry boats coming and going. There was a tourist information point where we picked up some very good city maps and leaflets of local attractions.

Inesa F.

Very beautiful family park. Filled with monuments and talented artists. For a nicer experience buy a ticket to the Statue of Liberty. At $18 you will be a able to have a rich historical experience and see what USA is all about.

Azmat Alvi

Beautiful park in the lap of NYC. You can get ferry to Statue of Liberty from here. The sea carousel is worth visiting if you are with kids.

Tywanda Ligon

Enjoyed the scenery! So many cultures intertwined. Nice shade and seating. Great place to spend time.

Rebeka Stander

Amazing park with amazing views. Great for taking pictures, long walks, running or you can walk you dog. You even take the ferry and it is for free on every 30 minutes.

Alicia Reeves

Battery park is one of my favorite parks I the city. The park is with great location and view. There are a lot of people all the time. It is really clean. You can go there for a early walk or run. A lot of people are running in the morning in the park, so you can even make friends.

victoria Bellu

Nice large area with the River view. Very mind relaxing area. Just find a good shade and you will be safe from the sun. Wonderful water fountain/sprinklers for the kids.

Andrew Dawson

Cute little park at the bottom of Manhatten, provides a nice respite from the concrete jungle that you've got to get through to get to it. Also looks really nice from the boat tours that you can do around the city. A good place to come to sit and enjoy the sunshine or a sunset. Places for the kids to play and the adults to nap ;)

BRY Enterprise

It has been so many years since we were here last. It's still nice and beautiful! Great picture place.

Anna Elizabeth Couch Superville Sealey

It was a beautiful day after all. That I had to take advantage to sit by the bay and see the different shapes and sizes of boats on the Hudson River.

Manuel E. Guillen C.

The Battery (formerly known as Battery Park) is a 25-acre (10 ha) public park located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City facing New York Harbor. It is bounded by Battery Place on the north, State Street on the east, New York Harbor to the south, and the Hudson River to the west. The park contains attractions such as an old fort named Castle Clinton; multiple monuments; and the SeaGlass Carousel. The surrounding area, known as South Ferry, contains multiple ferry terminals, including the Staten Island Ferry's Whitehall Terminal as well as boat launches to the Statue of Liberty National Monument.

Joseph Canlas

Good starting point if you want to explore the city. This is where you can get tour packages to hop on hop off bus, see the statue of liberty. This is also near from other tourist spots like ground zero.

T C

I love to walk along the Hudson river in Battery Park City to reach Castle Clinton early in the morning, when the city is still asleep (at least this part of the city... you should have heard that it never sleeps!!!). If a trip to Liberty and Ellis Islands is in your plans, try to depart earlier and reach the pier through a walk in Battery Park City.

Jessica Hash

Very mind relaxing area. Just find a good shade and you will be safe from the sun. Wonderful water fountain/sprinklers for the kids.

Tearsaint

Amazing views on the water steps away from the Ferry. Amazing sunset and spend sometime watching local fisherman. Next to a couple restaurants. A very long walk way that you can go for a stroll or jog.

Farzana Haque

It's nice place, Small Baby park here, Anyone can freely move Staten Island from here, There are lot of fountain for amusement, Lot of Speed Boat Ship start from here, U can observe Statue of Liberty from here by riding on Liberty Cruise,There r lot of Food Vendor vending food for Tourist, Open Place, Nice Fresh Air u can take

Deanna Copeland

Very busy.Loved watching the birds & squirrels. Bench seats if you need to rest a bit. Statue of liberty / Ellis Island ferry lines seemed like would take a while but not too bad & expected because of security check.Loved the musicians by the lines for entertainment.

Cornelis Lamers

Was there for 1 week had a great time very friendly people not just places we were spending money at but people on the street. Will be going bay so we can see the rest of New York.

Michelle Houston

This park is cool you can get a good glimpse of the statue of liberty from here. You can also take the FREE ferry to see the skyline as well as the statue of liberty. I love going as sun sets the pics are amazing of the skyline lit up on the way back. They also have someone selling souvenirs for really cheap you can get I love NY shirts for 10$! Do not buy souvenirs in times square.

Shannon Gearhart

Great place to hang out with friends/family, people-watch, relax on the chairs/table and enjoy a quick bit. Has many fun events in summertime (small theatre presentations, yoga, movie nights) on the large lawn. Holiday market with ice skating rink during the wintertime.

Saimon Schwartbaumalwitzburgmanstien

It's a lovely park, right on the Hudson. There are some interesting sculptures. Look for the sculpture that has crystals set in steel. It's quite dazzling. There is a pretty tree lined walkway with plenty of benches. A very romantic place in this park. Here are some photos from a dance performance I attended in Battery Park last Monday evening.

Moshe E

Wanna nice time out to chill? Wanna see a beautiful view? Look no further, Battery Park is the answer what you were looking for!!! Nice Grass and beautiful view, take a few minutes off of your day and go chill at the beautiful park you won't regret it (unless you'll get fired... Then don't do it

Austine Man

It's always clean and you get a great view of the Statue of Liberty. The Staten Island Ferry is close by and is a great alternative to the Statue of Liberty boat tours if that's not within your budget and if you don't have any desire to actually go to the statue itself.

Blake Haffner

A gorgeous view of liberty island and a nice walking path with street vendors. Access to local tours and ferries... definitely a must see location in NYC

Darren Kilbury

This area has changed so much over the years. Definitely worth a visit for NYC newcomers and longtime residents alike. Although some things have become a little too polished, it is still a beautiful area with an interesting history.

Maulik Patel

Always a beautiful place to visit. Lots of history to see and absorb. You can catch the statue of liberty cruises from here. Subways to go uptown Manhattan or to Brooklyn. Many restaurants to eat at. Shaded park to sit and relax.

Minoshka Michelle Velez

Beautiful day with family and friends. Expected it to be super crowded and although there were a lot of people it did not feel that way. Wonderful!

Elizabeth VanValkenburg

The park is a prime place to see the bridges and enjoy the skyline of Manhattan. It's popular but beautiful enough to be worth braving the crowds. Walking across Brooklyn bridge is an priceless experience, too.

Jeffrey Barrus

Very pretty, quiet place. Nice to walk through during the early evening

Desert Eagle.50

I live coming here to enjoy the sunrise, and sometimes sunset. It's a very nice place to relax and ponder upon your thoughts, I recommend this place to everyone who likes to outdoors.

R L

Nice entertaining gateway to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. If you look closely and look beyond the tourist view you will see a wide variety of street entertainment right before your eyes! The winner is a guy with his head on a …

Adrian Thern

It's a lovely little park, many places to sit down but there are many people coming through because of the statue of liberty rides that depart and arrive here. Also you might see a couple of rats here and there.

Poonam Mane

Nice urban park. This is the place where you get ferry to visit Statue of Liberty. There are food trucks on the side of park and Starbucks on the opposite side. This park has some historical statues and sculptures. There are great historical buildings on the opposite side of road.

Will Koehrsen

The nicest place to walk in the financial district and one of the many wonderful green escapes in Manhattan. This is a great place to enjoy the outdoors, go for a walk, catch a boat to the Statue of Liberty, or sit and marvel at either the river (looking south east) or the buildings of downtown Manhattan (looking north). It's amazing how quickly you can go from glass canyons to a marvelous park right on the water. The Staten Island Ferry and Governor's Island ferry also depart nearby making this a great place to stop by before catching your boat. I'd highly recommend visiting the Park for both tourists and long-term New Yorkers.

Vineet Yadav

Nice location with skyline view. You can see statue of liberty from here. Park has benches, chairs and shaded area to relax in summer. Lively place. Next to it is Staten Island ferry port for free boat ride if you are just looking for skyline view from water. It doesn't go close to statue of liberty.

Keith Roussel

As parks go, this one isn't overly impressive. It is a nice oasis in a concrete and steel jungle though. There are a few monuments to see and the Statue of Liberty can be seen in the distance. Viewing the Statue of Liberty from Battery park should not serve as a substitute for visiting Liberty Island. Ignore anyone here trying to sell you tickets to attractions. Buy all your tickets online or directly from the ticket booth.

Douglas Barbosa

One of the nicest areas in NYC to be. Lots of green areas, restaurants, shops, food markets and more. The view is one of the best. Spend 2-3 hours to visit the entire area.

Thomas Jose

Very nice park. It has a nice merry go round for children. Nice views of the river and a great place to take a walk.

Paul Turzio

Great place to people watch and get hounded by the ticket sellers. Buy tickets on your own at the window. Go see the statue on the boat guaranteed to get you sea sick. Nah. Gotta do it!

Kristoph Cles Aban

I went to battery park on a warm sunny day. I was expecting to see an amazing view of Statue of Liberty but I ended up people-watching a sea of protesters advocating for better policies on climate change.

Faisal Hafeez

Being A New Yorker, I Have Passed Through This Place Many Times But Never Got A Chance To Visit. Visited The Place Few Days Back And It Was Fun Especially The SunSet At Hudson Was Amazing......

MAX MELENDEZ

This is a good place to go in the summer on a first date cause they have alot going on. from outside movies to nice drinking spot. you can even get a game of chess going.

Michel de Ligt

You can't walk to many step until someone tries to sell you something. But it still a nice place to walk around and see some history. During warm days there's an waterplay area for the kids to cool down. Also not completely unimportant you can catch the ferry to Liberty Island for an up close view of the statue of liberty.

Suvankar Roy

The place we need to be to take the statue cruises. But they have a beautiful park as well with trees providing good shades in summer months. Lots of people spending their lazy summer afternoon and evening time

Kathy Cevallos

Battery Park never fails. It is quite lovely to visit at anytime if the day. I prefer afternoon into evening for a sunset view. The gardens of remembrance are lush and beautifully kept. The walk along the river is just right with that special person or for a family excursion. Make it a point to visit and allow a few hours to enjoy all it has to offer.

Lisa Törnqvist

Love it! Great view of the city. Bring a good camera. I was here last year celebrating Swedish midsummer. It was so nice!

Rick Jewell

Great place to access transport. Buses and ferries. It has the only ticket office for Ferries to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Very helpful staff.

C H

This is the perfect time of the year to visit. I have come here over 100 times with friends, family and guests from abroad. Picturesque is the way to describe this park. One of the best sites on the Manhattan Island to visit. The park faces the ocean and Statue of Liberty. Behind the park is the downtown skyline filled with beautiful buildings built as far back as 100 years or more. The architecture is beatutiful. There is a nice grassy area to relax, a pier to shop and a fine restaurant to indulge by the water. You can view downtown Jersey City too. It is very close to the financial district. There are some interesting pieces of art work displayed throughout the area, so take pictures, especially the huge guitar just before the park on the right side, near the restaurant. The view of the schedule of liberty is breathtaking. It's quiet and peaceful here and it's a place to visit at least once. It's a beautiful day for the park. The restaurant is good too!!

Danago

An easy walk across the park to get to Castle Clinton where you get the ticket for the ferry ride to the see the Statue of Liberty. Quite a nice park with lots of benches. Bask in the sun and watch people go by. The name of the park refers to artillery batteries positioned there for defense. Yep there are no huge batteries here in the park for charging... just in case.

Arthur Murden

me and my wife were in new york February 2019 on a small holiday we booked the ferry ticket for the statue of liberty so before we left home we live in England I had a look on the website to see we're abouts we would get the ferry from And I saw the name Battery Park I just wished we would have had longer to have a look around the park I hope we will revisit New york some time and then we will take a longer look around this lovely place

Jennifer Hudson

For a first timer to the Statue of Liberty, this was confusing. Maps need to be posted, and accessible; itineraries and ferry schedules too. Basically Ferry ride #1 takes you to the Statue. Ride #2 takes you to Ellis Island. Ride #3 returns you to Battery Park.

Robert Paul Laschon

Wonderful park, incredible views wit statue of Liberty, New Jersey skyline, free occasional organized shows. Easy to reach, good transportation. Very recommended.

charan Pal Singh

Lovely place at the bank of Hudson, cool breeze and some lovely sculptures. One can enjoy little bit of crowd or one can sit on a bench and enjoy his own thoughts in seclusion.

Shawn Huffman

My first visit to the City of NY. I absolutely loved every minute spent on our adventure. We are definitely coming back to this amazing city.

RICHARD TAUB

Battery Park and Battery Park City along the southern tip of Manhattan is my favorite Manhattan neighborhood. Gorgeous views of the Hudson River, New York Harbor the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Governor's Island and the Jersey City waterfront skyline. The neighborhood has beautiful modern residential buildings, public art, public parks, a marina, the Winter Garden and the World Financial Center.

Anthony Bachtiar

Battery Park, a park located in the southernmost Manhattan. This park is very beautiful because it directly faces the sea, full of green trees and comfortable to walk or just listen to the sound of birds and enjoy the fresh air. While …

Blanca Edna Velez Young

Lovely relaxing place. Great views. Lovely memorials. Great foods selections although expensive.

Brayden Mora

Never spent much time in this park but went to take the freight to Liberty Island. However, we spent a little bit of time to walk around the park when we returned from visiting Statue of Liberty. It’s quite nice to have this green area (park) next to Big Apple’s busy finance district such as Wall Street. It would be great to walk in the park or just sit and watch the water to feel the relaxing atmosphere to recharge and refresh yourself. I surely will come here frequently if I work in this area.

Stephanie Gamez

If going to the statue of liberty please avoid the tourist guides, they will offer so many things but in the end is not worth it. Buy your ticketsn directly at the brick Castle is on $18.50 per person (adult)

joan duca

Loved Battery Park and finding the Labyrinth to walk on. Please put signs to explain about the Labyrinth to encouage people to walk the prayer path. Beautiful and I enjoyed it very much. I only wished more people knew about it.

eva signore

Beautiful park and gardens. Great place to stroll and enjoy the sights and sounds of lower Manhattan. The sea glass carousel was so pretty and different.

Clinton D'souza

I would describe this as a beautiful and amazing place to spend time. You can lie down in the park and just rest, or you can enjoy the street food. You can have the view of the beautiful sea with the statue of liberty. Also, on the other side you can see the skyline with towers. It's a great spot to get amazing pictures. Worth the visit.

Edy Hatcher

Gorgeous park! My husband and I went here when it was snowing and it was absolutely beautiful. We can't wait to come back here with the kids, especially when it's a bit warmer out.

Jeff B

What can you say except great access. I was able to park right across the street for only $22 all day then pick up the Grey Line bus that takes you all around town in a big loop; how convenient! The park was the place to pick up a float to the Statue of Liberty and a close walk to the World Trade 3.

Nate Miskimens

Go around sunset, you’re in for a treat. Watching the sunset with the view of the Statue of Liberty and Coney Island is absolutely stunning. And of course watching the fireflies as you walk through at nighttime is magical. A Park is a park but this ones well kept and my experience was great. 10/10

Fahad Kashem

One of the most beautiful parks in NYC. The park is at the the southern most tip of Manhattan, and is a great place to sea beautiful views, walk your dog, go for a run and or bike. Love walking along the water while chatting up with close friends. Highly recommend it to anyone. Local or tourist.

saivikas reddy

Near to the world trade center and probably the place which gives you the most amazing view of the new york city. There is always a lot happening around this place. Even a free ferri ride across the Hudson river with a beautiful view of statue of liberty.

EBH

Sea Glass Carousel, luminescent at night! All sorts of fish bobbing up and down look like they are made of sea glass. Lovely at night or early evening. Right near the Staten Island Ferry!

Justin Regis

Very cool waterfront park. It's amazing to consider the history of this location. Be sure to look into hopping on the ferry boats from this spot. The water views of the shoreline are very cool.

Mariela Edwards

Love, love Battery Park! It is a well known tourist attraction. If u want to take pictures with the Bull, I feel the best time is prior to 10 am. Any time after that there will be a wait. There is so much to do like visiting the stock exchange, trinity church, world trade center and of course shopping, shopping & more shopping.

Amaresh Rajaratnam

It's the beautiful park in the middle of the city. Surrounded by big buildings and it is more beautiful during evening time. There is a boat deck and a nice restaurant around. You can enjoy a chill full time during evening.

R. Carta

Always a fun place to spend the day. There's always something going on whether you walk around and just watch street performers or catch a FREE ferry to Staten Island or the statue of liberty

Jason Warner

Great location to see the Statue of Liberty. Be sure to get on the clipper city tall ship. Way better then going on a ferry. This is amazing to do

Vatic Foundation World PTSD Awareness Tour

Battery Park offers so much to everyone. It provides views of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and the shores of NJ. Monuments range as you will see dedications to the lives lost during the world wars and immigrants who move to NYC. Battery Park also offers places for you to relax on the grass or play in a small water park to stay cool. It's a perfect spot to stop when travelling to New York City.

Jack Daniels

Battery Park will always be my favorite place in the city. You can escape the noise from the city and relax and mostly enjoy the views. I love to go there early in the morning so I can get a long walk or run. There are not a lot of people in the mornings this is why I prefer this time from the day. It is great place for cool pictures and just to hand out with your friends.

Denise Wilson

I love sitting by the water here. So peaceful

Mark B Borg Jr

Love this place. It's like being at the very end of the Earth. Looking out across the river, seeing the Staten Island Ferry, imagining the vast history of this island...loving it hear. The fact that a monster Climate Strike was held here yesterday--and 1.1 million kids were released from school to converge on this place--makes it all the more exhilarating!!!

Anne Fernandena

With beautiful views of the Hudson River at sunset this is the place to be. After a very hot day of walking around Downtown we walked in to Battery Park. Our friends’ kids jumped in to the splash pad to cool down. There is a small cafe next to it selling alcohol and other drinks. There’s a memorial for the marines who served the country at various times. There’s also a lovely fish merry go round - very unusual with colours and movement very much like fish. We sat at the cafe watching the sun going down whilst sail boats passed by.... what an amazing view!

Ibrahim Hammouda

Battery Park is the best place for a family hangout. You don’t have to worry about strollers passages. A big green spot area that overlooks Statue of Liberty. The view is spectacular before the sunset. There’re many seating areas and you really should go to the fountain to take some pictures, especially when you stand and make it behind you with the background of the Statue of Liberty. Very easy to go to New York Water Taxi to go on a tour to Brooklyn Bridge then go to Liberty Island where the statue is. There’re other companies there that have boats to go there as well. What I like is the old fashion boats there. Make sure you keep hydrated and locate some restrooms around the area (sometimes they change them). The one I’m quite sure of is the one at Pier A. It’s a restaurant/bar (see me upcoming review of it). Enjoy!

Jane Kim

Nice place for a walk. Not that crowded. The weather was nice so that made the walk around the park even better

Patrick

Great park and very open. Great to walk during lunch time and see amazing views of the Statue of Liberty, Governors Island and Jersey City. The summer they have beer gardens in the park which is great. Only complaint is the Statue of Liberty boat ride ticket venders that constantly pester you to buy a ticket even though you tell them you’re not interested.

Davey Parekh

Nice place to visit. Easy access. They have a number of interesting things to see here for free.

Gregory Black

Actually went down there to play Pokemon Go, as there was a special gym raid going on. Comfy, relaxing setting with a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty and a far off view of Staten Island. Free wifi in the park, would definitely go back just to hang with friends.

DAVID WEISER

It's a beautiful park that would otherwise earn four or five stars. Unfortunately the park has been overrun by scam artists selling fake tickets to the Statue of Liberty (Warning to tourists / only the US Federal Government sells tickets to the Statue of Liberty at Castle Clinton at the ticket booth/ do not buy tickets from runners - they usually are wearing red vests/shirts and roaming around and will approach you trying to sell you a ticket - the government does not sell tickets with runners). Unfortunately you now cannot take a nice walk without being faced with marijuana smoke.

Eugene Thomas

Battery Park is one of the most scenic parks in NYC. That's sayin something. Always a lot of great things to do. Always a good time. Enjoy it like I do.

Vanessa

It's a beautiful place to be on a beautiful day. The view is spectacular. Seeing Lady Liberty and all the different boats in the water. Absolutely breathtaking. The diversity of people hanging out and having a good time. Definitely visit this park!

Dicken Doe

Nice little park, but mostly where folk get on and off the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Plenty of coffee options and a few historic sights, but mostly teeming masses and a longish walk to the metro (the line closest not operational at the weekend).

Mike and Shawna Hual

This is a very nice park. We walked around and took pictures of the Statue of liberty. Made sure we knew where to pick up our tickets for the crown.

DwAyne Dunbar

I love this place, Because its beautiful and clean... And no other places far as parks.. Have a clean bathroom like the one in battery park... To the people that work there.. Great job

Békési Dzsenifer

We were taking a walk there with my boyfriend. A lot of green, fresh air. We sat down by the docks and watched the river, it was very relaxing.

what to say

Over looking the water, great 1st date walk... maybe sit in the grass look at your date, she's wearing a sun dress ! Let's go!

Helle Heredia

Almost got tricked by people in the park claiming to sell boat tickets to the statue. Be aware! They wear t-shirts that makes them look very creditable, but they will over-charge! Go to the authorized ticket place!!

Ruth Wallace

Try to get up here on a clear day and the beauty will leave you breathless. The air is so fresh and clean. I felt very connected to nature.

Thomas Mchugh

I love battery pop a lot of history a lot of history see the Statue of Liberty from the 9/11 Memorial Governors Island Ellis Island beautiful girls beautiful women beautiful people hanging out having a good time

Steven Eisenberg

Battery Park is a wonderful, beautiful public space. However, tourists beware! As you approach any part of the park, you will encounter and be accosted by "ticket agents" who are loud, officious and intrusive. Appearing to be friendly agents of nearby attractions, happy to dispense information, they will approach you directly, point at you to get your attention and, more often than not, follow you as you walk. They will shout, "Statue of Liberty??" and ask, formally, "checking into the statue or the ferry?" Or, "do you have your tickets ready?" They will say that they "work here," producing some form of ID. I can't stress this enough: They are in no way associated with the Statue of Liberty or the National Parks Service. They are in no way associated with the Staten Island Ferry. They are attempting to lure you into buying harbor cruises that are expensive, out of the way and DO NOT go to Liberty or Ellis Islands. The only place to buy tickets for Statue and Ellis Island is at Castle Clinton (or online). I can't stress this enough, either. You don't have to listen to these people. You do not have to engage with these people. Do not let them stop you or block your way or in any way pressure you to deal with them. Telling them "no thanks" and walking on is strongly advised. Telling them to mind their own business is acceptable, but it will trigger a sarcastic, often aggressive, nasty and/or vulgar reply. The National Park Service and the NYPD are present, and they do what they can. They are friendly and will help with questions. I personally try to help one set of tourists every day.

Sophia Greb

A wonderful park for walks. A cool view of the statue of liberty. Beauty!
