Such a great family outing. My kids enjoyed their scavenger hunts as well. I am not crazy about tight places but went through all the caves except the Lemon Squeezer without any panicking.

Theresa Koski

So much fun!! I felt like a kid again crawling through the caves. The views are beautiful.

Kate Torborg

Was about $21 each to visit but I think it was worth it. Lots of stairs and fun places to crawl in. It's a different experience than just a hike. The birds nest addition is awesome!

Wayne Walk Jr

Loved it. Went through every cave with the boy except the Lemon Squeeze... LOL. We did this as a stop on our trip back south. Nice place to stretch the legs and definitely the rest of your body as you squeeze through the caves! An awesome experience! They offer a Military Discount, thank you!

Bill Hayes

We had such a good time we can't wait to go back. I seriously considered doing a 2nd loop when we were there. Friendly staff and very clean building and gift shop.

Mark Bernick

Fascinating rock formations and the water running through it.

Patrick A. Wilkinson

Bridget champlin

I love the challenging caves to which you could even try again if you wanted. I also found the walk on the paths to be relaxing. In all I'd go again.

Dianne Green

Awesome place ... we checked out caves, has beautiful scenery. We had a great time

Bruce Davis

Nice scenic walk, a bunch of caves to crawl through, fun scavenger hunt for the kids. Great time for adults & kids of all ages.

Nicholas Wong

Always a lot of fun for kids and adults of all ages. We went early this year, so several of the caves were flooded and we weren't able to go through them, but there was still plenty to do. (Sadly, our favorite 'Lemon Squeeze' was among the closed). It's a bit pricey for a 1-2 hour activity, but worth it if you only go once every couple years - And you could always walk around again if you have the time.

Matthew Zupka

Great place to explore and stretch the legs after a long drive!

Zae Magoon

Excellent family destination for those who enjoy adventure.

Christine Silva

Good time and great workout. Very pretty.

Ashley Arnone

Nice little hike and beautiful scenery. We had our 2 year old in a back carry and couldn't go into the caves since they are tight spaces, but the trail was enjoyable enough it didn't hinder our experience. Bring your own snacks as there is a small shop, but nothing substantial.

Josh Lima

Another beautiful area to check out while in the Franconia Notch area of NH. Lots of neat little caves to crawl through, beautiful sights to see, it's a great experience!

David O

Reasonably priced. Great time with the family. Lots of walking, but great views of rushing water, ferns, and boulders. Enter the lemon squeeze if you dare

Alliesha Brewer

Love it! Great exercise and awesome way to tire the kids out!

Silvia Alejandra Herrera

It's more of a children's thing to go and explore the caves, it doesn't require a lot from you and they are not too deep.

The Gerbil Sisters

It was a great hike, very fun for everyone!

Amber Lavallee

Absolutely spectacular! I was so pleased I found time to go here while I was on vacation. So many caves to explore (weather permitting) and the area itself is just gorgeous. Wear sensible clothes and your waking shoes. Many of the caves required crawling but are optional through the trail. One of my favorite places I've ever visited!

James J

lots of fun spent 2 hrs lots of small caves along the boardwalk(trail) some are very challenging

Mike Krasinski

Beautiful place. Caves are really fun to climb through

Kimberly Boyle

Great NH visit for the whole family. Especially great in hot days as the gorge is cool.

Nelson Amaya

I've been coming to the white mountains for a long time as I own a Cabin up there, and I have never gone to the lost River gorge. What a gem, we had a completely unexpected fun experience with my colleagues in a work retreat up there..

Ol Akinrimisi

There are not enough lovely things I can say about this wonderful place. It is honestly a mix between a scenic path and an adult playground. The natural caves, mossy paths, unobtrusive wooden ladders and bridges really evoked a Middle Earth feel for me. Water echos over stone and you can hear bird calls. At times the trees overshadow you; sometimes you find yourself overlooking them. There is a wonderful sense of stillness that helps to heighten the surrounding natural beauty and can be hard to find at times when you visit popular natural spots. The area provides a great workout without being overly strenuous. This is definitely a hiking spot, so wear hiking shoes or sneakers, wear clothes you do not mind getting wet or dirty, and carry water. There are also fun obstacles which allow views into the underground caves and streams. Tickets were $21 and there is also a gift shop which sells cool trinkets. It was a great experience I look forward to repeating when the weather becomes warmer.

Shannon Fuller

This place is amazing! Loved exploring the caves with my girls!

Eric Zimpfer

The glacial caves are very cool and most are not too difficult for most people to get through. If you do find one too difficult you can bypass them all. The whole thing has well-maintained boardwalks and guardrails so there's no danger of getting hurt or lost. Going through the gorge is unguided but informational signs give you lots of information. We went to the lantern your this year, which is guided and at night, and the tour guides were very nice and knowledgeable.

Marie Gavel

Beautiful day at the Lost River Gorge. Spectacular views, take your time

Jayden Kitai-Sangero

There are many caves throughout the trail and they are very fun to go through. I wouldn't recommend coming if you can't fit or crouch to enter the caves (some are a very tight fit).

Chiranjeevi

Fun walking in here , loved those caves. Squeezers are amazing.

Rebecca Kinn

We had a great time at Lost River Gorge. My boys, ages 5 and 7, loved the caves and had fun exploring all of them. Unfortunately, I sprained my ankle descending into one of the caves, but the staff's response was fantastic. Multiple employees were on sight to help me out within minutes, and provided ice, an Ace bandage, crutches, and any other help I could have needed. Thankfully I was able to walk out under my own power, and a staff member walked along with us to make sure I got out ok. Great job. Thank you!!

Scott Osterhuber

Great hike, but come prepared with good shoes and layered clothing. Bring hydration. The "loop" is a little over a mile but descends and ascends 300 feet, and has a boardwalk structure with over 1,000 stairs. Many great photo opportunities along the way. Check the website the morning of your visit to get the latest conditions, especially for the caves.

laurie Davis

Very cool walking adventure on boardwalks and staircases that take you along a beautiful windy river. Along the way there are small caves made by boulders to go through. Most of them are very short but require crouching or even crawling through. Definately not for the less agile or senior citizen. Beautiful natural waterfalls and cool rock formations can be viewed along the way. At the highest point you can see a beautiful birds eye view of the treetops and mountains. Lots of stairs but also many built in seats and benches to rest along the way. I don’t recommend this if you have bad knees, or tire easily. I’m 59 and in decent shape and found it easy. If your a nature lover this is a nice walking tour of something you would not normally get to see unless you are a Rock climber.

Theodore Haynie

This place is a hidden gem deep within the white mountain national forest great place to bring a date or the kids.

Vickie DiStefano Barrile

A must visit for us when we're in NH. We love the caves and the trails. They keep adding to the boardwalk trails, amazing carpentry work. Just beautiful! Great gift shop too.

Kevin Anderson

Amazing formations. Well maintained. A fun hike.

Anahi Michalowski

What a great place to visit!! The kids loved it and a lot of adults will be surprised to know they can make it through a lot of the caves. A fantastic afternoon!!

Zachary Magoon

Great place for the family, a little expensive considering how fast you can go through it.

Felicia Daughraty

Much better than expected! We were here for about 2.5 hours and went through all the caves, which were a blast. It is a LOT of walking but worth it! Plan to come and take your time and look around and read the info signs. Make sure to wear clothes that can get dirty and maybe a change of clothes for after. We came in September and enjoyed having the area mostly to ourselves!

Ehud Zion Waldoks

We had an amazing time here. The whole family loved it. It's a walk on a boardwalk with a series of caves that you can climb through, some of which are a tight fit for an adult.

Jason Rand

Lots of fun. The caves are great for kids of all ages. Lots of nice views along the way.

Rick Chase

Fun walk for the family. The optional caves are interesting. Mostly shaded throughout which helps on hot days.

Lorrie B

Great family outing. Really enjoyed our visit. Signage regarding the landscape was great. We had a lot of fun.

Michael Currie

One word, AMAZING!. My family had such a fun time here, even if the lemonsqueezer was closed for repairs/renovation. If you are reading this BEFORE going... wear good athletic shoes, bring a water bottle, a headlight, a snack, and your camera/phone. Dont wear a dress unless you like people looking up it. Make sure you stick around to view their garden at the end/beginning.

John Woodhull

Expensive hiking trail through a gorge with some small caves. Worth going to see once

Ken Battle

While staying in N. Woodstock with my older brother he took me to visit Lost River Gorge. It was with great pleasure and fascination rambling through this site when I was only about 10-11 yrs old ( about 68 yrs ago.) Fond memories here.

Jaime A. Leon

Very good place to walk. Some small caves to explore.

J P

This place was spectacular... I don't think 20$ a person is too pricey I'm sure there is a lot of upkeep that goes on. Staff was very friendly.. bathrooms were clean. All around amazing time to spend the day. I do suggest bringing a change of clothing if you plan on crawling through all the caves. The one fella we talked to said he was going on 9 yrs of working there ... that says A lot about a business. Can't wait to go back!!

Keith Zielinski

What a find! Our twelve and fourteen year old girls loved it! Cool caves to explore and loads of exercise climbing and crawling. Tennis shoes are a must. You may get a little dirty but nothing crazy.

Benita Dykeman

Amazing how the way you hear water running through the walls while in the caves.

John Thongs

Lots of fun, and a bit of a workout. The kids loved it.

Lynnette Monk Dezan

We enjoyed the walk through the gorge and exploring the caves.

Shannon Johnson

Such a beautiful place. My kids had fun climbing in and out all the caves while I enjoyed the waterfalls

Erin Williams

Our kids (and the adults) in our group LOVED THIS PLACE. The boardwalks are very sturdy and well constructed and you can tell they put a lot of thought and care into the caves as far as not only their interest and difficulty, but most importantly safety. The pricing is reasonable, and there’s a very cute store as well.

Gregory Rosic

Really fun for the whole family! I think my 3 yo had the most fun and he could do all the caves! My wife said "this is the first time I have seen him having more fun than you". I would have given it 4 stars, but I like to hike up Mt. Washington but my wife, 3yo, and baby can't do that, and on this we all had a good time.

Stephen Dycka

The lost river gorge and boulder caves was amazingly fun. My kids had a blast climbing through all the caves and up and down ladders. Some spots with spectacular views. Overall my family had a wonderful time. I would recommend getting there right when it opens like we did because by the time we left it seemed pretty crowded (Sunday morning).

Holden Parrent

This is an awesome and fun place to go for a hike up in New Hampshire! The short 1-1.5 miles loop is fairly easy to walk as long as you are okay to walk over 1,000 stairs. The views in the gorge are amazing (I have attached several photos), and the caves are a cool aspect. The only issue with the caves is that some of them aren’t big enough for the average person, but I’m sure the kids will still have plenty of fun! Overall, definitely a good place to go for a couple of hours of enjoyment for the whole family!

Tim Foley

Well maintained. Lots of caves and waterfalls along the path. Beautiful views and plenty of photo ops. This is a great place for all ages my children have enjoyed exploring the caves and finding another waterfall around every turn. All natural well other then the decking but without it you could never get to the caves. Not a long walk but there are lots of steps so come prepared. They place first aid kits all along the path if anyone scraps a knee or anything. Over all it's well worth the money.

Brian Comstock

Excellent family visit! Option to crawl through some small caves, or bypass them. My 10 year old daughter went through a few of the caves. Well marked trail. Overall great experience!

EP Vt

This is such an amazing place for kids and adults. Great walking paths, caves and scenery. Store has great selection and prices.

David Miller

Absolutely spectacular natural area. This narrow gorge is deep and would be difficult to navigate, but the amazing network of wooden catwalks makes it possible. There are so many boulder caves to explore. Also, for those who are interested in native plants, there are many beautiful specimens to be seen! If you love nature, climbing and exploring, make sure that you allow yourself plenty of time. You won't be disappointed!!!

Kathy Guevara

It is a lot of steps, but worth it! We had a lot of fun and laughs. If you're in the area it is worth taking the time to go there. We are all exhausted (the following day) from the heat and physical energy it took--LOL!

David Overstreet

Well worth the price. Great place.

Brad Greenstein

One of my favorite places to visit. A real natural wonder. A great place to go with the kids. It can be challenging so get ya hiking shoes on. I am 225 pounds and was able to squeeze through everything. Lots of fun.

Mary Medico

Great family outing place. Well maintain ed trails and plenty to do for all ages to enjoy.

Katelyn Prosnitz

Lots of stairs! Glad I've been working out, specifically leg work, so my knees were able to handle it.

Andrew Coyle

Great place for kids, an outdoor adventure. Even us oldsters enjoyed climbing thru the caves.

Trisha Basford

It's ruggedly beautiful here, and easy to get around as long as you can handle stairs. It would be a great place to bring kids, lots of climbing and caves for them to explore. Fairly pricey, though.

Jessica DelGrosso

Loved exploring the caves with my children! The lemon squeezer and the dungeon were exceptionally fun! We loved the challenge!

Matthew Johnson

Great natural wonder. Beautiful waterfalls and cave. Great adventure and picture spots.

Elizabeth Foley

Lots of caves to explore with some beautiful views. A must see for the area!

Tiffany Krause

A great adventure for kids and adults.

Natalie Kfoury

Great attraction. My group had a lot of fun here! Very well maintained and beautiful.

Rich Alix
