We enjoyed a perfect fall excursion today! We have done a few other scenic train rides, and this was the best by far. Most noticeable was the cheerfulness and high morale of every one of the employees we dealt with. Also notable was how organized things were. There were multiple excursions with lots of people coming and going, yet things ran very smoothly. We took the dining car lunch option and enjoyed delicious food (real mashed potatoes!) in an authentic railway dining car atmosphere. And, oh yes, the tour! That was great too; loved the iron bridges and the high trestle, and the music!

Yowza! I can't say enough about the entire staff that we interacted with at the Conway Scenic Railroad! First, Susan, who arranged our trip with a handicapped individual made our trip seamless. All of the staff in the yard assisted us to get to our seats expeditiously and with so much compassion. The view from the train was spectacular but even better was the narration during the trip out and back. The sound system had great quality and the fellow that narrated sprinkled in lots of humor which made it fun. You can bet I'll be recommending the Conway Scenic Railroad to all my friends back home! Thanks everyone.

My wife and I were married on September13th, and we stayed in a cabin in Lincoln for the week. Conway is about a 23 mile drive from where we stayed, and the Conway Scenic Railroad was well worth the trip! Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The sunset ride was so romantic and the food was great! We had an amazing time! The only thing I would critique is that my wife said her food tasted like it was cooked with alcohol, which wouldn't have been a big deal if she wasn't a recovering alcoholic. A little more transparency in the menu would be nice. Other than that, great experience! I will recommend!

We went on the Bartlett excursion and paid extra to ride first class on the Gertrude Emma a beautiful old sleeper parlor observation carriage from the 1890s which had been beautifully restored. For the extra we got a spacious, airy carriage and sat on comfy wicker chairs which faced the open windows. Snacks and drinks were available for purchase on the train, and there were rest room onboard too. The guide provided an interesting commentary, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and clearly enjoyed his job. The scenery was perhaps a little underwhelming as there were very few wide open spaces along the journey to look right out. The track is mostly tree lined. That said, the train ride itself is a great experience. Conway itself gets busy, so leaving enough time for getting there and parking is important at peak times of the year (North Conway is worth visiting too - five and dime, country stores, restaurants etc...).

Lori Horta

This was a fantastic time on board the Gertrude Emma Car. The commentator was very informative and it was interesting learning about the car and the railroad. We will be back to try out the longer ride next time we are in town. Thank you for a great vacation memory.

Excellent train ride. Had a lot of fun. My daughter had so much fun on the train. Will Recommend to everyone.

North Conway Scenic Railroad The station dated back to 1874 and is in downtown Conway Village which is not too far from the North Conway Community Center. You can travel along the scenic routes and cross rivers in the vintage locomotives to see some distant mountain views and valleys. It is nostalgic to be inside one of these old fashioned trains with different seating choices. It is an authentic railroading experience.

I have been on the Conway Scenic Railroad before so I am very disappointed that my last experience was so poor. My sisters and I planned this very special trip with our elderly mother because she has been asking to see the foliage in New Hampshire for so many years now because she does not live in an area that has beautiful foliage. We also knew she would love to take a train ride so this was the perfect opportunity to give her a special treat. For starters, I followed the link on the website to book a “dinner train” because I knew we wanted to have a meal on the train. I was then given the opportunity to pick “my car “. You would think that no matter what car you pick you would get a meal because you picked the dinner train option, but this was not the case, the car I picked did not serve a meal. That was a big let down but decided we would just do dinner a bit late when the train returned at 7:45pm Then the night of the train ride we boarded the train 15 minutes early and waited and waited. It was a 6 o’clock departure time to see the sunset at the trestle bridge and we did not leave till 6:40pm. Almost the entire one hour and 45 minutes on the train was in the dark. No view and no meal... We did get drink service - $12 for an 8oz drink. You would think they would have at least given us a drink on the house. We were starving by the time we got back after 8:30pm. It was very disappointing overall. I think that the Conway scenic railroad should rethink their schedules when the seasons change because no one really wants to ride a train in the dark just to ride on a train.

My family and I had a great time in the Dome of the Rhonda Lee..The Staff was amazing, very accommodating, pleasant and hard working.. The downside was the food and price of beverages. I guess I expected for the money we paid the food would have been much better . Steak tips and fish were overcooked and the broccoli and potatoes were luke warm at best.. The strawberry short cake was very dry. The alcoholic beverages we ordered were over priced . We will definitely ride the train again however, we won't do the dinner train again.

Ronald R Erickson

Crawford Notch Lunch Excursion, really nice to see the valley and mountains without driving; and have a meal along the way. The White Mountains from a different perspective is well worth the time. Being in an older railroad car is an added bonus.

Patrice Bédard

A perfect place to take a break with the family, the time stopped for the time of the trip, the 55 minutes ride, and we all got to leave a great experience together. For a few more bucks, I strongly recommend the upgrade in first class for the convenience of sitting facing outside and for the ambiance inside the car; it truly brings you back in time! Our kids are too young to join us on the longuer trips or the dinner experience, but this is now on our to do list for my wife and I.

Eric Larson

The North Conway Scenic Railway lived up to its name. It was a very beautiful trip through spectacular fall colors and sweeping views through the Notch. We were very happy that we were able to bring our dog along with us to enjoy the ride as well (though she slept through a lot of it:-).

Dan Volpe

A unique experience. We had dinner, the food was fine but there were no free refills on the soda which was unexpected. Had some great scenic views. We were meant to pay for the meal on the train, but the card reader was "finicky" so the server took our card and put it somewhere until we reached the station - which isn't something we would typically like to do.

Michael Curran

Conway Scenic Railroad has an eclectic collection of engines, cabooses and passenger cars. We rode first class seated in wicker chairs aboard a restored 120 year-old car, departing from a real period rail station with a functioning turntable and active roundhouse adjacent to the switch yard. Add to that unique views of the ledges and mountains that make this part of New Hampshire so special, and you have a recipe for an experience that can't be duplicated elsewhere. There are three regular routes with options for most tastes.

April Doherty

Beautiful ride in the perfect amount of time to enjoy a delicious meal while feeling the times of the olden days as they were. The gorgeous backdrop of the mountains, rivers and streams to top it all off! Thanks again! We really enjoyed our trip!

Peter Rakowski

Rode the dining car with my son and his family and had a great meal and a fun trip for everyone. My dad and I both worked for the Boston & Maine for many years. He was a crossing tender before they had electric gates at road crossings and I worked the tower at the freight hump yard before moving to the ticket office at North Station. I rode the trains to and from work and this trip brought back memories. Thank you for all the effort you put into the experience.

Lynn Lizotte

Love the ride, but sitting in the open car could not really understand what was being said over the speaker about what we were seeing. Also would have been nice to see the mountains more on the left side, but too many trees blocking view mist of time. But for the most part was a nice relaxing ride.

Craig Petosa

We enjoyed the unique experience. The atmosphere takes you back in time. Food was excellent. The staff was very pleasant. We will definitely go again. We had dinner on the Hattie Evans a beautifully restored dinning car.

christine plaud

Wonderful experience all around! We missed the train in North Conway because of traffic. The staff at the station directed us to the town of Bartlett where the train would stop for us so we could board. My husband and I thought we had to forgo our plans and eat the money we had spent. What a pleasant surprise that they would accommodate us so that we wouldn't miss out on such a lovely and beautiful train ride. We highly recommend this train ride to all. Well worth the money!!

Austin Taylor

My fiancee and I greatly enjoyed the Barlett First Class with dining option. The food was great (appetizer, entree, and desert) that was included. The chef stopped by and asked everyone how they liked their ride and food, which I though was very sincere. We had the best view in my opinion, Rhonda Lee upper cart that was 21+

We visited the Conway Scenic Railroad to ride the Santa train. The town of Conway is picturesque with lots of shops and restaurants. Highly recommend the German chocolate shop. The train depot has souvenirs for sale and a little museum with interesting displays about the trains and local history. We were in the top of the dome car, with glass all around for best views. It was a beautiful trip and we enjoyed visiting with Santa and Mrs Claus and all their elves. We look forward to returning in fall to see the autumn foliage!

Sophie Marshall

Great experience - very nice operation. Very impressed with equipment and staff. Open back platform on Gertrude Emma was a great ride! Had a wonderful experience with Cullen - very knowledgeable and a great host for a great day!

Barbara Breuer

Nice ride but unless you are in the dome seats, difficult to see vistas of fall foliage except for small vignettes. Otherwise the train travels in the trees. Lunch for 50 in the dining car was a 2-hour event however the food was very good. Although they don't tell you, seating in first class is assigned. Don't need to rush to find a seat in the car.

Martha Dean

Great train ride with my parents who are 91. Took the Notch train ride for their 68th wedding anniversary. The crew was terrific -- friendly and very helpful. The scenery was fantastic, once the train climbs out of the valley -- especially as the leaves were starting to turn. Snacks offered, clean bathroom, comfortable seating, and a great tour guide with interesting facts and a sense of humor. All in all, this was a delightful way to spend a way to experience the beautiful mountains that my parents used to hike in their younger years.

Tony Beyer

We didn't like the trip. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! We couldn't have asked for a better day. Scenery was beautiful. The staff, particularly Michelle, Jodi, the gentleman that narrated the trip, and the young young who gave us the snack, were AWESOME. We we lucky enough to be able to book the 8 passenger screen room. The car was very comfy. We also had a great time getting to know our fellow passengers from Boston. If we could change one thing, we would raise the height of the super comfy chairs. Will definitely recommend to everyone we know.

Ron Webster

My wife and I did the 1-hour, 45-minute ride on the Bartlett Dining Car. Old-fashioned station and trains were very cool. We had the turkey meal on the train and it was pretty good. The scenery on this ride was not great. Mostly goes through residential and business areas it seems as opposed to remote areas. If you have the time, I would recommend going on the 5-hour ride.

Martha McLellan

We spent the extra few $ to get first class seats on the Gertrude Emma. The train ride was fun, seats all faced the open windows, and the weather was beautiful. Nice scenery. Probably not as spectacular as going on the Notch Train but this train was not 5.5 hours and did not go over any scary mountain bridge. Great time, we would ride again!

Michael DeNapoli

Bartlett tour was not as scenic as we expected. Our guide and all the staff were terrific, and the car was historic and beautiful. My only complaint is the scenery, I would probably change this route or remove it.

Eric L

I've ridden the Conway Scenic before and love riding trains. I have a great respect for these types of operations. It's not easy taking equipment that is 50+ years old and delivering an experience that satisfies modern travelers. We took the Crawford Notch train and had a very nice time except for two issues. We rode coach and were in the last car on the train. The entire time up to the notch there was some metal component on the train car at the front of the car which several times a minute the whole trip would let out a screech. It was ear splitting, similar to if someone was dragging their finger nails on a chalk board. Additionally the PA system was not working properly, we could not hear the person speaking giving the tour. The system cut in and out. Leaving us to guess which words we did not fully hear. It was disappointing to have experienced these issues on what otherwise was a great day. Scenery was great. Well worth the $60.

StL John

The train ride was very scenic, and the narrator was interesting and informative. We did not opt for the box lunches when we bought our tickets, and realized 2 hours into the 4.5 hr trip that we were starving, and had not brought along any snacks. Also the temperature on the mountain was colder than what we dressed for. Better preparation on our part would have enhanced the experience.

ANTHONY CARRIER

Started out in sunny 83 degree weather at bottom, and ended up to in 50 degrees swirling blowing windy fog at top. So cool. The fog cleared away after a bit and had a comfortable fantastic view of mountains extending to Maine and beyond

Ramona Calkins

We went on the glass domed dinner train. It was such a wonderful experience. The food, service and ambiance felt like you were in a different place of time. It was a lovely experience and would love to be able to come back again. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and train excursion.

Jeff Mitchell

Trip was supposed to be an hour and forty five minutes. However at the half way point we stopped and sat for forty five minutes. All of us with little kids had a nice time keeping them from going mental. They also switched engines to go back and the horn at crossings was absolutely deafening in the car with open windows (conductor confirmed it was a much louder horn), and it was blowing every 3-15 seconds. Fun on the way out but the lasting impression is the miserable trip back.

Sam Iospa

Interesting experience. We the narration needs to be a little better. The level is good for 10 year old kids but for adults its too basic and not very informative. Otherwise it is well organized and a fun way to spend 2 hours. Keep in mind its not air conditioned so make sure to go in mild weather, early in the day and bring cold water with you.

Miss Frugality

It was my Husband and my first time going on a rail trail like this. Gene (at the ticket counter) suggested the shortest 55 minute ride for us. It was a great chance to get to know the beautiful mountains in New Hampshire. I do mean get to know, because on the trip, we had a gentleman in the rail car explaining where we were, and what it all was. It was a great experience!

Jim Rowlan

Excellent experience. The fall colors were not in full splendor, but the train ride was excellent. We almost passed on the lunch, but changed our mind and glad we did. The menu was new for the season. 2 in our party chose the Thanksgiving dinner and 1, the Mac &Cheese. All meals were excellent. Well worth the experience.

diane rezaii

We were staying at a local Bed and Breakfast so were able to just walk over to the railway station. We bought our tickets just two days prior to our ride so all that was left was the coach seats. At first I was disappointed, but we sat in the very last car in the train and ended up really enjoying that coach. It wasn’t very crowded and we each had a seat to ourselves on both sides of the train. The commentary on the train helps to tell the history of the area. We really enjoyed the Notch train trip to the Fabyan station. Such beautiful country. A must do if you are in the area. We did not buy the dinner or the box lunch as we had a huge breakfast at the Inn where we were staying.

Madelyn Haussner

Chance to sit back & relax, learn about railroad history in area along with local stories. Unfortunately, the A/C was not functioning on the trip up despite the efforts of railroad employees. However, they tried their best to make the best of the situation, handing out chilled water bottles. Trip back to Conway Station was better. A/C was fixed, plus dining car was very relaxing & cool. Food was delicious, too.

Patrick B

If you get a clear day you'll have amazing views. Still even with cloudy weather it's a beautiful trip. The crew is nice and add a little education to the trip. The notch train can be a little long if they run late

David Perrone

Was a fun experience. Trains on time and clean. No hassle in reserving. Staff friendly. Was a good time overall. Would do again. Maybe the longer trips too.

Jeanne Noonan-Whitely

We had a lovely time. Our guide was charming and informative. All the staff was pleasant and helpful. We are looking forward to riding with you again.

Karen Scrivano

Have taken this train in the past always enjoy It. This year tried the dining car for lunch. Made a lovely trip even more lovely. Great food awesome staff.

Cheryl Heal

If you’re planning a special occasion in New Hampshire, you may want to consider the Conway Scenic Railroad to be your host. On Saturday October 5th my new husband and I took our families on the Notch ride to celebrate our nuptials. On the way to the notch we rode on the Dorothea Mae dome car and enjoyed so many splendid views along the way especially the great fall foliage. Then on the return trip we took the Hattie Evans dining car where we all (16 of us) enjoyed some of the best lunch meals we’ve ever had! The service was great and our special events coordinator (Gay Howe) was absolutely top notch to deal with! Gay was able to come up with ideas we didn’t think of at all that certainly made us even more appreciative of the whole experience. We highly recommend the train for a special occasion or just a great ride through the white mountains.

sasha cbsevenfifty

That was the most boring ride. All I saw was getto houses and some trees. You call it a scenic railroad?? We drove 2.5 hours to get there. I was extremely disappointed.

Erin Ginter

Great family train ride! We’ve done this a few time in both the notch and valley trains and they are both wonderful. Highly recommend if your up in the area!

Joseph Ward

Woeful attraction. Admittedly we only took the valley trip to Conway as we thought it might give some alternative views of the beautiful NH foliage on a grey day, but the short trip consisted more of concrete and car parks than trees and valleys! The 55 mins was actually 20 mins either way with a 15 min turnaround in the middle. You can get much more scenic views by car or on foot!

Jane Finn

It was all very enjoyable but my only complaint was it’s too short of a ride! We booked the long 5 hour trip in November for the truly scenic enjoyable ride!! Staff was great! Very friendly, attentive, and professional and the luncheon was great! It just went by toooooo fast! Lol

Peter Durnan

What a great find, glad we decided to take the dining car option. A great relaxing way to see the Mt Washington Valley. Seats are comfortable food and service excellent, great way to spend a couple of hours.

Matt Couture

We took the Conway ride with our 3-year old. The old train station was very well put together with all kinds of old artifacts, and the train was very nice with comfortable seats in coach. The views were great; our one criticism was the PA system on the train was very staticky and we couldn't understand what the narrator was saying most of the time. Overall, it was a great time for the money spent and we highly recommend it.

robert mackey

Gay was very helpful booking our tickets. Service was great. Lunch and cocktails were very good. The views were magnificent!

Angela Dobler

What a BUST! Paid extra for the sunset Upper dinner Dome ride and well let’s just say we sat at the depot for 15-20 minutes. Not only missing the sunset but it was dark before we finally left. Couldn’t see a thing. We brought our friends from Texas to show them how beautiful the train ride would be but it was the complete opposite. Very upset and extremely disappointed!!!

P. J. Murray

Nice experience in an old train car. I opted for the first class ticket. Cool old train car. Guide was informational. Some interesting history but not a lot to see. We did the Bartlett run. I'd have liked to do the longer one but didn't have time. Overall a nice relaxing sightseeing trip. Cool old train station. Parking is scarce if it's busy. I lucky found a spot in the back near the repair garage. Allow extra time to find parking. I recommend.

Sara Papas

The train ride was great, and the staff were wonderful! It was obvious that they love what they do, and gave a great tour of North Conway! The views on the train ride were beautiful!

Christine Martensen

Very scenic ride especially with Autumn leaves. Adults will enjoy, I think children would get bored (unless the Christmas train). Especially if in coach, dress in layers. The open car got quite chilly and we wished we had a blanket. Snacks are reasonably priced but next time we would pre-order the box lunch.

Al Warner

We took a first class car to the notch from Conway (round trip) with no dining service. Food selections at the notch are limited but if you want to forego the dining car you can reserve a box lunch ahead of time or get a hot dog from the on board snack bar. I also saw a number of coolers on board and there are tables under cover during your hour at the notch. It is a fantastic ride with a ton of info along the way. There are some great views but you do spend a lot of time cruising through the woods. We will definitely do it again.

Denise Dembkoski

We went on the dinner train, sitting in the Rhonda Lee, upper dome. It ended up being a rainy night, so our view was limited, but there was nothing scenic to see. The train travels in a wooded corridor, and there is nothing to see but trees. In addition, our service was not great. The train was not full, but we had to ask several times for things, and when they were brought to us, things were incorrect. The server was extremely friendly and chatty with other passengers, but was not friendly towards us or the table next to us. We ended up sharing resources across the aisle. Finally, I didn't like the taste of my $9 cocktail, so when I said something, I was told the bartender was in training. I didn't drink any of it, but they still charged me for the drink. The food was good, we both got steak tips. The bread was delicious and warm and we had our own oil and balsamic on the table, which I also liked. Overall, I would want to try it again, maybe the longer, lunch, notch trip, where there would be something to see.

Jennifer Figueredo

Just finished a ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad. It was a wonderful experience. The weather was perfect. Our seating choice was the screen room because of the panoramic view from the swival chairs ( very comfy and only 8 passenger seating), however we went out to the back coach open air car because of the fresh air.It was most enjoyable and where we met Bill, a staff member who gladly conversed with us. When we initially booked our reservation, we opted not to do the lunch in the dining car but when Bill told us about the experience, we really wished we had done so. Bill was more than willing to call and see if it was possible to get us a reservation. Luckily for us, we were able to have this wonderful experience ( thanks to bill) and the food was worth it. We had the pumpkin &carrot soup, Thanksgiving dinner and tried both desserts! Everything was good including their homemade salad dressing. All staff are so friendly! Whole experience- from the reservation desk to the order of operations was first class and we would highly recommend it. Would try to do it at peak of foliage if your able to get seats would be my only other recommendation to make it even better.

Gail Labrecque

We took the 5 hour ride through Crawford Notch. Except for R&R, it's the only thing on my wish list for vacation. And it didn't disappoint! It was relaxing. The views were spectacular! The food (we had lunch in the dining car) was delicious. And the staff were great! Every one of them, from the woman who gave us our tickets, the guy who cracked all the jokes as we were preparing to board, and the guide giving historical information. They were friendly, attentive, helpful, and made the trip that much better. Thank you to all, and especially to Gage and Tyler in the dining car.

Tom Whearty

Had a wonderful time on the Conway scenic railroad! The train was very interesting and the guide was super informative, would recommend to any of my friends.

Thomas Stillson

Sat in upper dome of Rhonda Lee for 5 hour Notch excursion with lunch. Great meal and great service with Lisa. Enjoyed the hour break at the Crawford Notch depot by circling the pond and visiting the gift shop. Wish we could have heard the narration from the conductor but a wonderful time overall. Will recommend this trip to friends and family

Nancy Snow

My husband and I recently enjoyed a wonderful trip on the Conway Scenic Railroad. Our favorite part was having lunch on the dining car. We experienced not only a delicious gourmet 3 course meal but the staff was hilarious, attentive and informative. The views were spectacular. Well worth the cost of a first class ticket.

adam rogal

Great adventure to ride on food cart. Food was great. Only thing I wish they will change is longer ride. Definitely worth $40 per person for dining cart ride

Bruce Wilcox

We had an excellent time on the train. The highlight of the ride was the dining car. It was nostalgic to be able to eat a meal while thinking about the people and history of the area and the railroad as we dined. We would recommend it to people considering the 5-1/2 hr ride. The history of Hattie Evans and her family was also very interesting.

Chandra Edwards

Nothing better than train nostalgia and a great lunch on a beautiful day. My six year old is very picky about activities and she adored the surprise lunch on a train. Can’t wait to return!

Earl Burlstein

Went for the Thomas the tank engine.(2018 ) grandson and friends loved it had a great time.train ride face painting. Arts and crafts. Model Train village.right next to the playground and walking the main st.fun for all

Mark Bishop

Such an enjoyable ride to Crawford Notch in the fall. The train has snack and dining cars, as well as bathroom facilities on board. Well worth the money and can't wait to do it again!

Ryn Thompson

My family took a ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad with our senior Doxie mix and it was a lot of fun! We took the shortest ride (about 50 minutes) since we weren't sure how our dog would react but she did great, and they even gave us a wicked cute dog ticket just for her! It's definitely on our list of places to go back to when we go back!

BRYAN WILLIAMS

What an awesome time. My 14 year old daughter wanted to experience what it was like on trains years ago so we decided on the railroad because of the reviews. We went with the First Class because it gave everyone a great view. One secret for anyone who reads this. For and extra $2.50 per person you can sit on the back deck of the car. Gives you an open view.

Mahima Srivastava

We booked first class tickets to Conway scenic railroad. Gorgeous day on memorial day weekend. Had a great time enjoying the ride and savoring some nice views. There are single chairs facing each window in first class which was very nice. Every person had a view. Bar and snack area within the compartments.

Ken Boeck

My wife and I loved riding the notch train. 5 hours of gorgeous scenery. I'm sure we'll return over and over again.

John Bellerose

Very historic building with great artifacts. Store/gift shop has items for children of all ages, as well as things specific to railroading. There is a wide selection of things that are technically correct, such as scale model trains. The shop has a good selection of printed materials including books, posters and puzzles. I love the shop.

Denise S

We had reservations in the upper dome of the Rhonda Lee which is a dining car. The meal was very good as was the service. We go through the notch and the views are very nice, but the speakers are not set up yet so we can hear the descriptions of what we are going through or what is coming up. Hopefully, they will fix that soon. Also, the windows on the upper dome need to be cleaned. The seats were very comfortable. On the way back, they have you switch with those on the seats across the aisle so everyone gets both views. I thought this was a good thing. A few more housekeeping announcements would be nice, like where the bathrooms are and if you can walk around the cars after we stopped. Our waitress was Michele and she was very attentive. Thank you Michele.

Russ Auclair

The trip was AWESOME, weather was juust right and the crew on and off the train was fantastic. Definitely going again soon. Probably upgrade, tried coach, now time to try other seats but coach was great.

John Roy

Wife & I looking for something to do on a Saturday ,decided to check out the Conway Scenic Railroad online. Easy to navigate website with choices (length of excursion, price point, activity) allowed us to book a late afternoon one hour ride. Upon arriving at the station we found parking and walked into the beautiful depot to grab our reserved tickets. Staff was friendly and helpful, and told us where to go for boarding. Conductors and train staff showed us to our train, and kept us informed during the trip. We enjoyed the ride, from the clickity clack of the train along the tracks to the views of the distant mountains. One could easily imagine what life was like back in the last century while sitting in your seat. The one hour ride was perfect for what we were looking for, and at some future point I’m sure we’ll be back for the longer five hour excursion.

Ketki Joshi

We took the 55 min train in the first class. It was a big disappointment and a waste of $23 for us. There are absolutely no scenic views during the ride. You see better views while driving around North Conway. I saw in the reviews the 3 hour ride has good views. I did not travel in that one so I don't know if thats true. I don't understand why keep this 55 min ride. Just keep that 1 long ride and stop fooling tourists by giving them the option of short ride which is absolutely worthless. That being said I will give 1 star for the train itself. They have maintained its historical charm.

Bernice Rogers

The server, Mike, was very good. The food was average. the coffee was good. We did not realize the views that we were expecting Over all the trip was nice but not spectacular

Katie Delany

The only negative about the train ride was the loud music in between the narrative. I wasn't expecting the music. I was looking forward to a peaceful ride among the foliage where I could chat with my husband but the music was so distracting that it completely took away from the ride.

Rita Gerenser

We chose the Dining Car trip, the food was quite good, and the staff was excellent. The train ride was very relaxing, but less than ‘scenic.’ Mostly the view consisted of scrubby trees growing along the tracks, obscuring what was probably beautiful landscapes.

Steve Senato

The wife and I rode on the dinner train, it was really great. I've always wanted top to do this and was not disappointed. The food was amazing as was the service, the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately it was a bit foggy, but it did not hinder the experience at all. If you're thinking of taking a ride on the train, do it it's awesome. Thank you Conway Scenic Railroad.

Icculus

The train car and station were nice...scenic views? Maybe if we took the longer trip. Saw a bunch of trashy trailers with junk and a waste treatment plant. Too bad we had to see all that. But very nice trip and experience with our guide. Very knowledgeable young man in the 1st class car.

Joy Fox

Wonderful experience in every way. Comfortable carriage car, and was surprised how nice the dining car was. Our turkey dinner was delicious, and you can be proud of your efficient, friendly staff.

Louis Yacono

Had an awesome time on the Conway Scenic Railroad. The gentleman who gave us the tour along the way was knowledgeable and very kind. My wife and I loved it. The staff was amazing including Cathy who works the will call window. She was so pleasant and very informative. We are coming back in 2 weeks to do the 5 1/2 ride. Can't wait

Debbie Seifert

It was a beautiful day In the White mountain area. Absolutely stunning. Wonderful experience from beginning to end by all employees on this train. Thank you for a great time.

I love train's great ride amazing views. The crew was very friendly and accommodating. A must do! I highly recommend.

The train ride is neat but if it's later in the year it will be dark a decent portion of the trip. The dinner service was a let down. Portions were tiny and only one plate came out at all hot. Which probably had to do with the fact that the wrong meal was brought out for them first. For over $100 per person once you get drinks and gratuity, I guess just expected better food.

Dining car experience wasn't really worth it. The car itself was very classy, but the food was almost cold, far from spectacular for the price paid. Our waitress was almost non-existant until it came time for the check. Train ride was OK but I guess you need the longer ride to really see nice sights. The whole experience could have been much better if the company would have put more effort and thought into making it something really special.

This was a lovely afternoon in North Conway! We were going to do the Bartlett trip, but the train was cancelled, so we ended up going to Conway and back - and an hour on the train was plenty. It kept our three year old entertained for a bit. The trainmen are very friendly. You can walk around the train yard, see the round house, and There is also a great playground right outside.

What a fun day! We loved the ride and it was so fun having lunch in the dining car, an experience that was new to all 4 of us. The lunch menu gave enough choices that we were all able to have something that we all really enjoyed and the staff on board was really fun and sweet to us. Thanks for the fun and unique experience. We were in the CR Reed car.

We took the Bartlett train today and it was a nice distance and enjoyable trip for our kids (ages 3.5 and 6). The employees are kind and helpful. We will definitely take a Notch train when the kids are older!

Conway Scenic Railroad is awesome. It’s an awesome concept, an awesome adventure, awesome staff and an awesome undertaking to keep our history alive and running for future generations. I’ve been riding since I was in a stroller and I have so many good memories. Racing to the round house every night to watch “47” go in for the night, chasing the trains through the valley, begging the engineers to blow the whistles. 7470 is legendary shes a mechanical wonder of years past and a marvel to watch. If you are in the area you are missing out if you miss a visit to Conway Scenic.

It's an authentic train experience with New Hampshire scenery and a rustic, rich, old school environment. What's not to love? I'd give it ten stars if I could. Great for train and scenery lovers of all ages.

Though the train it’s self was nice.... the overall experience was horrible!!! The train left the station 45 minutes behind schedule so we were not able to watch the sun set as it was a sun set train ride nor were we able to see any fall colors!!! Next the food was HORRIBLE and the service was nothing better. The chef was the bar tender because the chef was not available for our train ride. Then the manger tried to contact me and tell me we left late due to a train coming back to the stain late when the staff said it was due to trouble linking up..... one you would like they would be better at linking up since their trains go all day and you would think there would be better communication between staff and management to what to tell customers!!!

Great train ride my brother in law loves trains and I was glad to surprise him with the train ride. We got stick in traffic and they held the train for 5 no idea that gave us just enough time to get on the train. Cullen the young man give info of the train and the info about the ride was very knowledgeable of what was going on. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. I thank them for that. You should NOT pass up the opportunity to take the train, you will not regret it. Kathy Smith Portland, ME

The best train ride is the notch train. If you are looking for a screening room with temperature control, a camera view above the train, waitress service, lunch or dinner option, and swivel seats, then I suggest the Dorethea Mae car. The shorter trips are best for children.

From start to finish, Larry, did a superb job of keeping everyone abreast of everything happening on the train! He had some funny anecdotes and stories to share, which lended an intimate appeal to the trip, much as a friend would, traveling along with you! My husband is a West Pasco Model Railroad Association member, and has been for many years. He is an avid railroad buff and rates this adventure a 10!!!! I wanted to do this for him and was thrilled with the tour. Thank you for making this such a special event on our jaunt to New England!!!!

A fun ride with our grandchildren. Took a picnic lunch. Wish we could have spent some time looking at the old engines and railroad cars. Next time.

Huge let down. Most of the views were of peoples backyards and some guy washing his truck. The staff was great and friendly. The drive up was way more scenic then the train ride.

There is nothing about this trip that wasn't perfect! We loved the clever, informative narration, the beauty of the train and the incredible scenery! We will definitely be returning and bringing more friends and family.

My two boys loved it. (4yr & 2yr) The steam engine was perfect and made their days. They loved the steam whistle and of course getting ice cream in the dining car.

We absolutely loved our excursion ride. The scenic views on the Notch Train were breathtaking. Our lunch was in the beautiful Hattie Mae car and was every bit first class. I've already bragged about our trip and would recommend it to anyone who asked. We took a dinner train a few years ago and enjoyed that one as well. We have great dinner companions then as we did on the NotchTrain. Everyone should take this ride. It is an unforgettable ride accompanied by fabulous scenic viewd.

Great time great ride great staff. I think there was more behind the scenes last night then was told but there were 6 or so items that our group ordered that they ran out of. Would still go again, most likely for a day time ride.

Staff was very helpful helping us board a relative in a wheelchair. Ride was pleasant. Worth the extra for first class.

What a great experience! My family and I took the 55 min tour. Our 3yr old and 5 yr old loved it. Perfect time on the train for these two.

Great train ride, great price and great staff running the train. My family really enjoyed the trip and though we only did the coach and shortest ride it was a lot of fun. I imagine all their trips are similar. Perfect for a small kids and adults who like good scenery.

Great train ride and your. Tickets were ready at the ticket office waiting for us. Parking was also very convenient for catching the train. We will return next year to ride the train again.

We left for the "scenic dinner trip" after dark because they were running late and then had issues hooking the engine up to the cars. We finally got going and found out throughout the ride that they were out of Apple Cider, Steak, Chicken, and one of the two dessert options. Our meals were awful, including the hard and cold apple crisp we had to get. I feel bad for the wait staff there... they did the best they could with what was happening. So many other people were unhappy as well. Really a shame it wasn't what we all paid good money for.

We had a wonderful experience aboard the Conway Scenic Railroad. All train workers were friendly, knowledgeable and very dedicated to their jobs. This made the experience great during our trip.

Roger Bernier

Enjoyed it very much. I thought we would stop a few times to take pictures but that was fine. Couldn't hear the announcements on the PA. Not sure if it was the PA system or the people being loud.
