It's definitely worth the drive to be able to witness this standing work of art. I went during the day in the middle of summer and the sun was beating down on us so we didn't spend a lot of time here but still got lots of pictures. I look forward to seeing this place at night.
To see the huge clusters of stars overhead, away from the city lights, I suggest arriving here at night. There is a clear path to walk on but you must provide your own light source as there is none at night. It's completely dark at night, no street light or anything. Dark photo but it's for the shadowy effect.
Dusty parking lot. Find your own space, no lines. There was enough cars there to see the pattern in there. No attendant to bother with. Went during sunset so it wasn't as crowded as I've seen in pictures so it was nice and chill. Vibe was nice going later in the day. Beautiful. Nice, free place worth visiting in Vegas
Crazy weird place in the desert. The drive is easy and not really out of the way too much. Worth a quick trip to see.
Plenty parking... no service at all. People usually spend 20-30mins. Good spot to check in if you want to see something different on Vegas. It's about 20-30 mins from Vegas.
Wear covered shoes, expect to get dust on your clothes and car mats/interior. Cute photo op spot near Vegas.
Especially beautiful in the early morning. It's faster to get to on foot from the informal southern parking area. Just be careful when hopping the fence, because its made of barred wire, and there can be scorpions in the bushes!
Its a bunch of rocks thay are painted... Still nice though see before its gone
I liked it here. With plenty of people around it felt safe to walk out into the desert. Brushing ahead of you with a stick helps keep any critters away too. This is a must see if you get the chance. Inspiring.
Pretty cool! Learn to wide angle or 360 on your cell b4 going. Short walk from where you park. There is a small section of makeshift parking directly in front off street but, you will need to sqeeze thru barb wire. Photo wise worth the stop!
This place is neat to say the very least. If you haven't stopped to see it up close you must make an effort before it's removed as there are legal proceedings going on to do so.
The human mind just amazes me!! This is a Beautiful (free) HUGE work of art!!! It was just too hot & windy outside. 112° but there were still so many people there.
Unique. Adventurous. Quick and easy trip. 30 minutes from main strip. Go early in the summer of course. Let your personality stay colorful. ;)
Amazing pieces of Art, had fun taking pictures. My wife and I decided to rearrange the 7 magic mountains, I think they look better now.
You've seen one rock you've seen them all. However it was colorfully and attracting from the highway
I’m glad I finally made it out here to see the seven magic mountains desert art. It’s amazing how a little color out in the desert can bring so many people together! Great FREE thing to do on your trip to Vegas. Come out and see it before it’s gone!!
Amazing place. Best time to be there is 7:30pm because of the sunset!
Cute little spot to stop off at going to or coming from Vegas. Bright painted rock formations to take pictures around. There were lots of people and the background makes for a great pic!
Nice experienced amazing colored rocks worth to visit here in Nevada
Colorful rocks. Half hour from Las Vegas strip to seven magic mountain. Good for photography!
The pictures speak for themselves. A great road side oddity and a must see.
Go to this place just for photos. They have these attractive neon colored rocks in the middle of nowhere! But you can go and take a pit stop for pictures!
Unique artistic oddity that's a must see. Marvelous structures and picturesque photo ops.
Weird and wonderful attraction. Great photo opportunity and a beautiful burst of colour in the Desert.
It's absolutely worth the stop when traveling on I-15 ... make the detour to see the most fascinating juxtaposition in the desert. Beautiful, gigantic art of neon colors against the natural landscape pastels. Really fun to take photos! Then stop at the world's largest Chevron which is a whole other site worth seeing ... and since Seven Magic Mountains has yet to offer even a port-a-potty, you may need it. Enjoy it all!!
A must see spot in Las Vegas. You can spend time click some great pictures and shots. It's located in between deserts on the way to red Rock grand canyon.
Cool but hard to get a picture because there’s not many tourists.
Great views and amazing art in desert. Kids will love it. Many people stop by so get there early to get a clear shot. Kids will love this place. Free parking, close to I15, no restrooms.
Great attraction that's off the highway. But you have to exit at the correct exit or you'll pass it and have to back track. Also there were some people who brought their dogs but didn't pick up their waste so please be careful when you walk on the dirt roads. It tells you to watch out for rattlesnakes. I say you should watch our for dog poop.
It was amazing art in the desert. Shoes will get dusty so be prepared. Restroom (port-o-potty) cost 1.00to use private owner on site
Having been on my bucket list for a long time now I was finally able to see this art piece in real life. It was so surreal & I loved it. It was very windy, but that didn't stop me. I went at about 10 in the morning & there was about 15 other people there as well. Cool thing to check out if your headed that way!
A must stop off the beaten path. I travel quite a bit between NV and Cali. I've always seen these rocks in the far distance and always wanted to stop. I finally got my chance. It was worth the 15 min detour. My advice before going out there is think of some ways to be creative with your pics. It's not every day you see colorful rocks against a desert landscape! Make the stop!
Stunning outdoor art exhibit! It was so pretty and not even that crowded if you go early in the morning! It was so pretty I had to go back the next day to get more photos without anyone in it! I would highly recommend going if you’re tired …
It was pretty cool to see the art pieces. It would of been nice to see a sign of history behind it.
This desert art installation features 7 painted boulder totems up to 30-35 feet high. There is no public transportation since it is in the middle of the dessert. Parking lot is about 1/8 of a mile from the sculptures. You have to be careful …
A quick thirty minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip, Seven Magic Mountains is definitely one of the most unique and colorful art pieces you will ever let your eyes feast upon. Created by a Swiss artist, it's off a remote section of land that's easy enough to see from the highway but distant enough to not be distracted by it. Once you park and take the short hike to the seven rock pillars you will instantly be amazed by how the colors pop out and draw you in. This is certainly a social media or photographers dream spot, and a equally just a wonderful spot to take in regardless. Whether you're a local or visitor this is one spot you should make the time to visit.
Interesting attraction. Worth visiting! Before visiting we read that you should remain on the paths, specially because of potential encounters with wildlife. Also be mindful to enter via the correct entrance.
This was such a cool installation. I visited during the summer so the heat was pretty intense. If you are anywhere near this it's a must visit.
1st time there and the love the down to earth cool art! Nice place to visit and get great photos.
Stumbled across these 7 colorful mountains of rocks while avoiding traffic on the 15fwy. Beautiful site, you can walk around the area, but don't wonder to far. Free parking on rocky dirt road. Then walk towards them. I suggest comfy shoes, because you'll be walking on a rocky walkway. No services or restrooms.
Soooo cool!! Finally got to see these up close! And wow such a cool experience!! Such art and imagination, and these colors are just awesome and amazing over all, a must see when you are heading to Vegas.
It's a bunch of painted rocks stacked on each other. It was a very popular place, but I don't see the appeal.
Cool kittle pit stop on your way to vegas
This place is just stunning. Not only do you get to see the seven magical art installations, but you get to be surrounded by the most amazing view of the Mojave desert. This place is not busy during the weekdays and in the morning. This place is a must see if you're visiting Las Vegas.
This was such a great installation to visit on the way home from Las Vegas. Take exit 12 off the I-15 to get there. A bit of colorful whimsy amidst the austere beauty of the desert. We went at midday, and there were lots of people there. When I return to the area, if it is still up I would go early in the morning to get a different experience (they are looking to get it funded so that it can remain up for longer than originally planned). FYI - There was a fabulous gas station/big store on the northwest side of the road at exit 12 that had great food/clean restrooms before heading out to the installation.
Beautiful picturesque location in the middle of the desert. It's on a side road easy to get to. Parking area had a little snack truck and port a potty.
Cool attraction. Near the highway right before getting to (or leaving) Las Vegas on I-15. Worth the 5 minutes detour if you want to take some out of the box desert pictures.
Good place to just and take pictures. Lift your air suspension all the way up and don't expect your car to be clan after parking.
So beautiful! Driving from LA to Las Vegas. Stopped for photos without any inconvenience.
Definitely woth stopping to see. Is really close to Las Vegas and a beautiful place, art full of color and life
Great quick detour leaving Vegas. Highly recommend the stop. Aside from the Seven goddesses the desert was a pretty amazing backdrop.
Someone painted rocks and stacked them in the desert. It's a tourist trap plain and simple. But they do like nice in pictures...
There were more people here than I would have liked and I would not recommend hitting this spot at noon when you can't get away from the sun, but the exhibit is great to experience. If you get a chance to stop and check it out, take it. It might not be here past 2021.
The Seven Magic Mountains are an art installation of rocks balanced a top of one another. Ugo Rodinone is trying to make a statement about the relationship between man and nature (there is a photo slide of the description). The rocks were being repainted and it was cool to see them doing that. It's neat to know that it needs to be maintained because as nature would have it, the elements will play their part on what man has created.
It's cool. Something to go see instead of the strip the entire visit. Under renovation in May/July 2019.
We've seen it many times as we go to Vegad, and this time we decided to stop on our way home. Very easy off and back on the freeway without making us backtrack and lose time. Very cool art piece. We liked reading about it as well while we were there.
Really nice for a photo shoot. It’s so hot in there but it’s also beautiful ❤️
It was hot and windy today. Make sure to park at the correct parking area. If not you will have to cross a barbed wire fence. Wear closed shoes because you will pick up a lot of dust on them.
The idea behind this installation, mimicking naturally occurring rock towers is interesting but . . . it's kind of a tourist trap. You get some pics and that's it. Maybe bring a picnic lunch to have here, but it's more of a stop on your way to somewhere else thing. They're cool in photos, but not a super exciting stop off the highway.
Very cool place to visit, about 15 minutes away from the strip. I believe it's only open for another few years. Make sure you check this gem out before it's gone forever!
It's stacks of painted rocks so... I guess it's cool? It's definitely something to stop and see
I like all forms of art including this brightly colored 30-foot-tall totems that light up the desert sky which is just outside Las Vegas. This is a cool place outside of the city that’s worth the drive. I recommend going very early when it’s cool and there are less tourists.
Neat stop in the middle of the desert! The rocks are beautiful and the kids enjoyed checking it out.
It was a neat place to experience. I'm an uber driver & this was one of my runs from Vegas.
Intersting road side stop. A splash of color in a dry desert scene. If you are looking for something different to see it is worth the quick stop.
They're painted rocks stacked on top of each other that only attract visitors for being instaworthy. But if you're with fun people, then really anything can be fun. Rocks 3/5, friends 5/5
Spectacular view of an amazing art simulation in the desert. Selfies are a must! So interesting. Parking was free on a dirt road no big deal but be prepared to get a little dusty. The crowd was light when we were there. There was no cover charge and nothing else is around like (no bathrooms, eating places, hotels) worth the trip? Yes!
Neat art installation in the desert. Good photo op, nice place to stop before the long drive home. For best photo results, come in afternoon and have your subject face into the sun and shoot against the desert background.
It's under some kind of refresher. Not all the rocks are painted. The ones that are painted are chipping away of color & rock seen through. Nonetheless, still a great place for a quick stop photoshoot and you've got that desert view in background. Blue skies on a great weathered day. No dust storms during the time I went. Not crowded at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. June 1st.
I remember what it was like to drive to Vegas before this place existed and I honestly don’t know what finally made me want to come here, but I figured I might as well! First off, you’ll need to exit where the Terrible’s hotel and casino is located in order for you to get to this location. Second, there IS a small paved parking lot for you to park your car in so please choose that lot before deciding to park in the dirt area with barbed wire like we stupidly did. The art installation is essentially just a bunch of colored rocks on top of each other. Depending on when you go, you’ll probably end up getting a bunch of tourists in the shot unless you’re super lucky. There’s really nothing else to add to this review except it’s become one of those to-do things on your way to Vegas from California so I recommend checking it out at least once if you’ve got time to spare!
Seems cool ... Kinda odd gotta step over a broken down barbed wire fence. And unfortunately when I went, it was being repainted, and couldn't get to close to them. So hopefully next time.
This is a cool place for all ages to see the rocks stacked in different formations! I can't wait to being my kids to this landmark!
For a bunch of stacked rocks in the middle of the desert it draws quite a crowd. But it definitely is worth the 20 minute drive from Vegas. We arrived just as a tour bus pulled into the dirt parking lot.We rushed over to the artwork and took as many photos as we could before the group made its way over. There already were a lot of people posing next to the colorful towers of boulders. It really is spectacular and quite a contrast to the natural beauty of the desert. There are no facilities here, but the town of Jean is just a few minutes down the road.
We got here before the sun came up. Watched the sun rise and as the sun came up the magic mountains looked cooler and cooler. Recommend coming early so you can enjoy them and take pictures without crowds.
Much better experience than I anticipated. The sculptures are huge and well kept up. This was fun, quick side trip.
Was such a fun little side trip on the way home from Vegas. Good place to stop, stretch our legs and get some Instagram worthy pics.
Some dude painted a bunch of large stones then stacked them high in the desert just to the south of Las Vegas. Itaccess is on the north bound side if Interstate 15. I don't know why it was done, but it is fun. You can stop and walk around there, take pictures, and other things.
It's interesting to look at but was hot and need better parking set up.
I was lucky to get there early before the crowd arrived. It’s a great thing to visit for photos and to get outdoors while in Vegas. They just repainted them so now they’re brighter than when I saw them.
Its bright whimsical colors are lovely - especially against the desert backdrop - and walking among something so massive is always humbling. Also recommended: the YouTube video about the making of this art installation.
Super cool glad we went out to see close up
Horrible! Apple maps takes you to a terrible road for absolutely no reason. If you are driving a sedan please use Google maps or look for alternatives roads. The place is reallly nice for pictures I'm disappointed because it should be sings guiding you to a easy road.
Great place to see something different. And liked that there was a small area where people build there own rock statue my kids liked it
Definitely a side road worth turning on...make sure ya read the signs when you get there before you explore
This was one of our first mini day trips as a blended family. It's not horribly far from Las Vegas and is a neat little stop off for all ages. All 4 teenagers had a blast during this part of the trip.
I got beautiful maternity pictures here. Those neon-colored structures became a good background under strong sunlight.
super hot outside but the rocks are so pretty and bright up close!
It was so cool to see this off the highway and give the Vegas drive more adventurous route. Great place to see so many people gather together for Art. Having a little snack stop and bathroom stop also added a good touch.
7 pillars - 33 massive painted rocks, interesting...
Better to travel in winters. All you get to see is 7 pillars of painted rocks. You can have good pictures clicked though.
A free attraction to visit. 2 parking lots (one north and the 2nd south of the monument). Can be very hot but a short walk to the 7 rocks. Stay on the path and mind the venomous snakes if you don't. 20 minutes from Las Vegas.
Loved this place! My boyfriend and I took so many pictures. The rocks were really bright and colorful. Fun place to stop by and stretch out your legs while enjoying beautiful art.
Interesting place to stop.. keep going south on south Las Vegas boulevard until you're out of town and you can't miss it. Not sure why anyone would stack a bunch of painted boulders in the desert. The kids liked it
Very interesting and pretty! The rocks felt so cool to the touch I need to know what kind of paint that was and cover the whole house with it! Beautiful place, hope it stays longer. Easy walk. Easy drive. Fun place to visit
If you're going to Las Vegas and have a car, I highly recommend driving about 20-30 minutes out to Seven Magic Mountains! It is a super unique and colorful public art exhibition that I believe was only supposed to be up for a short period of time, but the exhibit showcase has been extended. There is a small parking lot, I was able to find a spot quick (there were only 3 other cars) and people don't spend all too much time there. I just walked around and saw the rock formations in different angles. It was a cool site to see!
Photo point on the way to Vegas. Usually crowded. It's on the side of highway, need to take a small detour. Ample parking near the spot. I would suggest to go early morning so that you can avoid the crowd and the light would be perfect to get some nice clicks.
Beautiful location for photos very colorful. Recommend stopping by when your in route but no bathroom
This is a very beautiful area. Has a very natural, untouched feel. That being said, weather u make it a stop to appreciate the natural beauty or the wonderful man made stone abstract which is one's personal representation of the las Vegas tall buildings. We all ask you to please respect the beauty of it and leave it as u seen it or better. By better don't step over a bottle or piece of paper. Simply do u part to keep it a beautiful as it is and please place in the barrel by the parking lot . And the art work is to be visually appreciated. So take note of the signage and do not climb. I agree would be a spectacular photo op. But if everyone has one person outta every group it will eventually be defaced. U can get just as spectacular photo by standing in front.. definitely a great place so absorb the earth's beauty.
Are you ready to be Instagram fabulous? Here is your chance to get the backdrop people pay good money for. Just know that everyone else has the same idea so you will be sharing your time here with at least 100 other people and a few drones flying around for good measure! So you know it's good
Visited this site after a shuttle driver from the airport mentioned it. Cool and interesting art installation and when I was there there were over a dozen balancing rocks by visitors to the side leading up to the installation. Neat place to take pictures. Unfortunately someone has already decided to tag on piece with graffiti. When visiting, please be respectful of this area!
Unusual, fun quick side trip to see and do photos with friends.
Worth a visit only if you're on the way. Basically a Swiss artist decided to stack a bunch of colored rocks here. Cool to see while stretching your legs a bit before moving on
We stopped here on our way out of Vegas and I'm so glad we did. It's so much more beautiful up close than at a distance. Definitely worth stopping to see!
it's awesome have to stop there on your way to Vegas or on the way back!
Very awesome!!! No facilities other than a parking lot, but a cool thing to look at for a brief stop. It's absolutely AMAZING that the guy was able to find the right stones with flat sides so he could stack them in this way!
Great energy Interesting instillation Family friendly Refreshments on site Free parking
Great art for pics. Family loved it...wish they can have a better freeway exit.
It's a fun little spot just outside of the city of Las Vegas. Depending upon the month of the year, the experience can vary to a great extent. The vibrant colors are a great spot for pictures and kids. If you're going in the summer months, remember to wear a cap and get water. There is no water fountain. One ocassional food truck can be seen standing there. With the beautiful desert landscape in the back, the colors glow and come through as as a much needed splash of color and entertainment. A must visit if you live in Las Vegas area. If you're visiting friends and family in Vegas, you can visit this too if you have time. Right off if I-15, you can take a quick detour to or from Las Vegas to California.
If you're a fan of modern art, The Seven Magic Mountains is an art installation you will not want to miss. This is a limited event, that was originally only supposed to stay open for a year or two, and due to popularity has been extended for at least another couple of years. While some have described them as "painted rocks in the desert", others see them for the beauty that they are. The colours of the rocks, against the colours of the desert, really are captivating and inspiring. Another way of thinking about them is modern day, rock formed totem poles. This is a popular location for those travelling on I-15 to or from Las Vegas. Finding them was easy thanks to the multiple signs pointing those who are interested in the right direction. Note, that there are no bathrooms.
This is a great place to take out-of-towners, or someone who is just looking for something unique. It's a bit of a drive out of the city but absolutely stunning if you can get there at sunrise/sunset. The mountains and desert surrounding is beautiful.
Saw this on the way out of Vegas going to Los Angeles. There was a parking lot and we could see this / people in the distance so we decided to check it out. It's nothing I'd go out of my way for, but it was definitely nice to see on our way to LA. The colors are so vibrant and it's literally in the middle of nowhere so getting good pictures of it isn't hard
I actually liked it seven beautiful color and very photogenic places
This is truly a hidden gem. I love gambling and having fun but you must take in this wonderful site. I was truly amazed by the colors the large rocks. This is a totally a family friend location. Great fun and great pics. Bring your professional camera if you have one!!!!!
Small parking lot to walk over to 7 Magic Mountains. Nice scenery! Artful!
Nice retreat from the madness of the Strip. Really close and easily accessible using rental car. In the middle of the desert of the highest so it gets HOT and crowds show up in the afternoon. Wish I went first thing in the morning...
If you are looking for a break from gambling, twenty miles outside of Las Vegas are 'Stonehenge' like boulders. They are very interesting and everyone seemed to be having a fun time.
I always wonder what this place was. I finally had the chance to visit. I absolutely loved it. Scenery was amazing. My experience was so great that I even wrote a story about it on Vocal Media. The only downside is that there are no restrooms so be sure to use it before you head out. And make sure to wear proper shoes.
It is a great place to take beautiful fun pictures with friends and family. It is interesting to be there because it is a huge work of art.
colorful rocks. Nice scenery, No public restroom. Just watch out for Mexican guy with the food stand trying to start problem or scam u.
It's creative. Nice place for a head change especially if there's a lot of traffic.
Stack tall rocks and paint them bright colors in the middle of the desert and you get "art." It is a funny little tourist stop on the way to Las Vegas. It's a photo op basically.
Just take a picture and get out if it's very hot! Just snap and go. There are a good amount of people at the site ND you have a lot of people trying to take pics for social media so it can be frustrating waiting for them while they hog the picture places. You can definitely get the las Vegas experience without coming but if you want to.
Magical and surreal place in the desert. Just a great place to take pictures and perhaps reflect. Best time to visit is in the afternoon when the sun is no longer beating down and there is a nice desert breeze.
It's worth seeing. At least once. The colors are bright and beautiful against the Nevada sky. Its free and there is space for the little ones to run around. The area is clean and well kept. Nice place to stop on the way to Cali from Utah.
This place was created just a short few years ago. It’s a little out of the way from all the main tourist spots in Las Vegas. There are plenty of parking spaces just in front of this place. Once you park, it’s just a short walk to the colored rocks. Because it’s located out in an open desert, you can visit this place pretty much any time and day you want.
Very cute stop to make before reaching Vegas. Highly suggest going there first rather than going on the way out of Vegas.
It was quite satisfying watching those colored stones. Picture that I took was amazing. I loved that place and colored rocks. Any time in a day is perfect to watch it and you can take great pictures. You will love it. It is just half hour located from las vegas stip. Have a look at what I have taken. I have taken some sunset shots. Looks amazing.
Absolutely stunning. The desert landscape is beautiful and this area is no exception. This is a very cool art installation and I would not miss it if I were anywhere near Las Vegas.
