Highly enjoyable! Make sure you take the GUIDED tour. There is so much to see and read it would take several hours to do it all. The guides (we got THREE, not sure why) were very knowledgeable and entertaining. Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes!

Scott Thompson

My family and I went to this Museum and it is simply fascinating some of the items that this family has accumulated over the years are simply amazing it is so worth the admission price to go you will see things such as the original Batmobile and other vehicles from movies that you probably have even forgotten about plan on spending some time when you go here because there is a lot to see in my opinion it is something that everyone should take the time to go see if you're a car enthusiast race fan or movie buff there is something for everyone here hopefully you will get the chance to go and if you do I know you will enjoy it.

Paradise for Car lovers. Even 1 whole day is not enough to witness this meticulous documentation of America's love affair with the auto.

Brad The Volfan

Mary Coleman

One of the best museums I've ever been to. My husband and I are total gear heads. If you are into cars this is for you!

Tommy Newnes

This place is awesome. Easily the best car museum I've ever been to. Lots of very impressive cars and displays, as well as dozens of very interesting engines, and the single greatest collection of Miller and Offy engines ever. I've been bummed that the last couple times I've gone through Nebraska the timing hasn't worked out where I could stop. I'd go back every chance I get.

Julie Ingham

This is amazing! So so interesting. It is so well done and very informative. The tour guides are very knowledgeable. We were there 4 hours and still missed some stuff.

Richard Schmidt

Tour Friday Jan 23 in the afternoon. Tour lasted 2.5 hours. Tour guide very knowledgeable; but there are SIMPLY TOO MANY NEAT THINGS THERE to take even a small part of it in! Wall to wall, and ceiling to floor, exhibits, cars, collectibles, and LOTS OF SIGNS describing the things there. If you are interested in RACING CARS, you can see quite a few. PEDAL CARS...hundreds!!! ENGINES...bewildering array! You would have to go back there every Friday for a year to see and absorb it all....but that's the fun...you just HAVE to go back!!!!

XENA JOHNSON

Worth the drive

One of the best hidden gems in Lincoln. So much to see that multiple visits may be needed.

Josh Sloan

An excellent museum for car or race enthusiasts.

Christopher Ovrebo

I'm someone who will stop at any and all automotive related museums and I have to say this place is well worth going out of your way to see, especially if you like any kind of racing or even engines by themselves. I managed to get there at the wrong time, but someone in there staff saw me disappointingly starring through the doors and was nice enough to give me a personal tour (don't come expecting that, I got lucky) Make sure you check open/tour times. My visit will forever bring a smile to my face; As the museum employee stepped out of site to turn on a rooms lights, I got to place my hand on a Tucker 48' with no one around.

Jeff Nun

Any motorsports, speed, racing, automotive and history enthusiast will have his or her expectations exceeded, regardless of how high those expectations may be. Such an incredible display of history and presented in a grand professional manner. Proud to have this in my hometown.

DW Dw

$15 a person kind of high but it is a well design Museum didn't get to see it all because we didn't get there when it first opened which was kind of a shame because we weren't told that we only had an hour and a half to go to the museum at $15 we got the times messed up our fault but a warning that we only had an hour or so would have been nice and maybe we would have done it at another day but obviously the museum is not the important part by showing so much history to the younger folks it's the money they get from their Museum

willam hoskins

Worth the effort to see.

John Ulrich

One of the best! Sort of an unknown gem in Lincoln Nebraska.

Ely Roy Arevalo

One of the best automotive museums I've been. Worth a couple of visits to study all the exhibit history or facts. 3 floor of memory, innovation and awesome collections of racing, hobby and American automotive lifestyle.

Donna Noble

We took some Canadian friends that were visiting and Dean Dumler gave us a wonderful tour. He was very knowledgeable with great stories about drivers and cars. Our friends had been at other car museums around the country and thought this was one of the best. Even if you are not into racing, you can enjoy this museum.

Bob Burton

Wow! This far exceeded expectations! So many cool and historic cars, engines, and stories to go with them! As just one example, here's the first car to use a seat belt in the Indianapolis 500. It was in 1941, and it wasn't there for safety. The track was so rough, the driver was bouncing and couldn't keep his foot on the gas. He borrowed a seat belt from an airplane so he could keep his foot in it!

Bonnie Wenners

Unbelievable! So much variety. Racing cars to unusual ones, pedal cars, lunch boxes..organized and docents available to answer questions and guide us! Cars just kept coming in. Sat under a shade tree and watched them! Great to have NSRA group there!

Tyler

Absolutely phenomenal, best auto related museum I've seen! I could have easily spent a whole day there. Definitely recommend for any gear head!

Samuel L dickerson

I don't have words to describe how much I love this place, first because I'm a fan of cars and second because they are very good exhibitions that are here

We had no idea this museum was part of Lincoln! It was a great experience with 3 different floors to see all of the automotive speedway history! We had a tour guide named Pete and he did a fabulous job explaining the history behind the museum. Would definitely recommend going here and experiencing it for yourself and family!

Amazing!! If you are a car lover, you will love this museum. Plan on 4 hours or more to take in all 3 floors. Just amazing!

eli baker

If you like anything with motors or wheels you'll love this place! I could spend hours wondering around

Ellsworth Racing

Absolutely amazing and extensive collection of race cars, racing memorabilia and auto history. So cool. I've been to a handful of museams of similar style and nothing compares to this place. I only wish they had concessions and a gift store. Bring comfortable shoes and make sure you have plenty of time to burn. We took about 3 hours to wander through all 3 floors and we kept up a reasonable pace I think!

Jack Taff

Loved it they welcomed our Nomad Group with open arms.

Sheila Derrington

Lived our visit! Fun stuff to see & a reasonable price! Staff was very friendly!

Michael Adkins

WOW... Just WOW... Incredible collection of vintage racing...

Freddie Roberts

Great place for race fans and car enthusiasts. But they don't really have much for young kids to do there. Nothing to interact with for them my 4 year old nephew was bored really fast. The older kids and adults enjoyed it.

James Holder

This museum was well worth it. There are so many stories tied to each vehicle and every piece in here. The tour guide was fantastic and passionate about everything he talks about. If you have 4 hours to kill do yourself a favor and do the full tour!!

Rich Barrientos

Maryam Ahmad

Highly recommend this place and the guided tour. We had Pete Peterson as our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and told us very interesting stories. We wanted to tip him in the end but he did not take it. He just did it for the pleasure of it. Highly recommend this museum with a staggering collection of 160000 cars!

Linda Wilson-Weichbrodt

If you are in Lincoln, Nebraska this is a Great place to go ... Even if cars aren't your thing there is so much more ... Plan to stay for awhile ..

Dale Vogel

Amazing I'd give it 10 stars if you are a gear head you will love it. Some spaces were a little warm, but I didnt care. Its more than cars. Its lunch boxes, guitars, motorcycles, petal cars, bikes, petal planes, vintage slot cars, dicasts, diaromas, engines, everything you'd want in a automotive museum.

Robert M

Very interesting place never knew it existed

Tina T.

Hidden gem! Not only does the museum have a well-displayed, clean, extensive collection of anything car-related, but lots of other non-car items, including hundreds of old lunch boxes, taxi cab items, pedal cars, etc., etc.! Our group's tour guide, Avery, was exceptional and extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all the questions asked. The only complaint I heard from my group of active seniors was that we weren't able to stay as long as they wanted! We could've stayed at least an additional two hours. Overall, it was a great experience and well worth the admission!

Richard Westling

Unusual and large display of race car items, cars, lunch pails and other things. They also have a dusenberg on display. It is the only place I have seen a Tucker on display.

Sara Bailey

Rachel Scott

I have no interest in cars but this place was really interesting to walk around. It is very clean and well staged. Huge display area what allow for you to spend a half a day or more looking at their exhibits...

Janelle Green

Nice clean place and a ton of things to see. I would have rated it a 5 but my family and I are not huge car/motor/engine people, so a lot of the displays didn't speak to us, but still work it and AD miliary gets in free too!

Sondra Braunwalder

amazing 3 floors of unique history

Alicia Letsche

David Dow

The BEST car museum I've ever seen! The historic cars and speed equipment are world class with items you won't see anywhere else.

Keren Sunblade

Very unique and complete collection of racing cars and history.

Maxime Ducharme

Very impressive collection, staff was helpful and very knowledgeable

John Romanowski

Shiny chrome and race cars. 3 floors of Awesomeness!

Erik Phelps

What a hidden gem ... can't believe all of the cars, engines, and parts that they have both on display and locked up in windowed storerooms and workshops. There was one entire wall full of flathead intakes, no two alike.

Paula Dalby

Plan to be here a while. This place is huge. If you like to read about what you are looking at, you could spend all day here. They have every genre of race cars and then some. Guitars signed by famous racing people (on the ceiling), pedal cars, album covers from music featuring cars, classic toys, lunch boxes and much, much more. Three floors jam packed. They had to kick us out when they closed for the day.

Rodney Turner

We had a group tour the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln NE. on Sept. 12, 2019. Duane Starr was our tour guide, he was the most knowledgeable guide I have ever encountered in my 7 decades. Duane knew every detail on every display.. A very informative day and the collection is one of the best if not "The Best in the World." We all thought it was a great way to spend a day and looking forward to going again real soon Way too much to see in a day, even two days would not be enough, so much to see and the history of racing is right in front of you from day one to the present day. !!!! The extra collection of pedal cars, bikes, and every thing else is amazing. Thanks So Much !!!! Rodney Turner

Joe Pina

The most cars, pedal cars and car paraphernali i have ever seen under one roof. Tour was a bit long, but very informative. Highly recommended for an afternoon with the kids.

It was an amazing place to go to because you could see engines in half to see how they worked and they showed different cars and how the progressed and everyone there was amazing and they would answer all the questions you had

Raymond Ellsworth

If you have the chance, stop and take a look. I've been many museums at this point and every time I come through Nebraska I stop here and go through it again. 15 bucks per adult if I remember correctly.

Mase Driskell

Very fun place to visit. This would be a great place for a kids birthday party.

John Louvau

Amazing car museum, this is a huge collection. Liked being able to see production of racing parts. I have never seen a peddle car collection that large. Model T timeline was very informational. You need a full day to fully explore this museum. Staff was very helpful.would recommend to all ages.

Kay Beaman

Oh my ! We went to Lincoln to visit another museum and found this Speed Museum ! It is AMAZING...if you are a race fan..you MUST go..you have a guide who is so informative it adds to the experience. Make Lincoln, Nebraska a destination.

Debbi Walling

I’m not really into car racing but I thought the museum was interesting and liked looking at the cars. If you are a nascar buff, this is the place for you.

Beautiful display of vehicles of all kinds,

Ethan Frankamp

Such an awesome place!!! You could spend hours here and still not see everything. Must see for every motorhead, I will definitely be back.

Christopher Douglas

This is one of the best automotive museums in the U.S. Two floors of racing history with a third of memorabilia. Incredible antique, racing, custom, and land speed vehicles. This facility provides guided tours by appointment or do a self tour. Restrooms are like a visit to a country club. Interesting other collections in-house as well. If you found this useful please give a thumbs-up. Thanks!

Airbrush Mike Art Garage

Dont get me wrong I really enjoyed looking at everything in here but it was disappointing that they charged $15 per person and shut the lights off immediately at closing time. We drove 2 hours to see it. So take it from me if you want to enjoy it more be ready to pay and give yourself plenty of time. And no guide for the $15 on weekdays. Might be more of a 5 star experience if the guide was there and they let you know how much time you have or maybe schedule it for people. Idk. It is really impressive what this company does, did and will do. I will probably go back!!! Thanks.

Neil Waddell

Allow plenty of time, a lot of very good history.

Caitlin J

Took my boyfriend for his birthday and we both had so much fun! The place is huge and the staff was super nice and very knowledgeable. Definitely a great place to visit!

Ege Özcan

Huge museum with lots of cars and lots of stories. Anybody who is interested in cars should visit this place. For the full experience you will need around 2 hours in this place.

Denny Wohlers

Eldredge Money

We spent two full days at the museum. We only made it through the first floor on the first day. So much history and it's all there in real life. We own an auto parts store so the collections of aftermarket add-ons was very interesting to us. Also, we are vintage racing and dirt track racing addicts. We also do engine building and rebuilding at our business. The variety of unique and one-of-a-kind engines really got our minds going. We spent a total of 9 hours here and we would have liked to stay for one more day.

Michael Huntley

We loved spending a morning there. A ton to see so allocate your time.

Jeffrey Wilson

Amazing. A real hidden gem.

Carlo Emanuele Barbi

Which words describes this place the best? Amazing? Fascinating? Awesome? Incredible? Magnificent? Mindblowing? Unique? Great? Cool? Well take all of these words and you have only 1% of what you will see!!! This museum rocks! It has so many cars, engines, models, part, toys ... you can spend here days (!!) not hours. There is so much to read, admire and discover that time flies by. There are three floors with tons of models in extraordinary shape. If you have fuel running through your veins you will cry when you see this place. I guess that it is one of the biggest car collections in the US. So many beautiful cars - simple incredible. The staff is very nice and friendly too, but be aware: They have much to tell. So if you ask a simple question you get the history of the car - which is simply fantastic! Great job by all the people working there. Thank you for the incredible day. Highly recommended!!!

Ryan D

This is an amazing collection of racing and performance history! If you have any interest in automotive history, you need to check it out. I've been through it 6 or more times and each time I see something new. There is also a huge pedal car collection and lunch boxes too. Something I think most anyone can relate to from their childhood.

Paul Iwan

Great place to go.lots of history . Plan on spending a few hours here . Very knowledgeable and friendly people. Inventory always changing. Had a great time.

Kenneth Calnan

This is one of the most expensive and most Awesome collections of cars I've ever seen. This collection goes from the first cars ever built to show cars, classics, and of course all different types of race cars. They are well kept up and taken care of for all to enjoy. 3 floors of lots to see. There are lots of pedal cars and models on display that little kids just love. We also sell all kinds of different pedal cars you can buy for your kids. They even have stuff you wouldn't expect, like as you walk up the stairs you'll see hanging on the wall a huge collection of antique lunch boxes. Every character from your childhood. All I know is not only is the Museum Awesome, but the owners actually care about all their employees and customers. So whether you want to browse the cars, start a restoration project car of your own, build a race car and do some timed runs, or just enjoy some good food and good people Speedway Motors and the Museum of American Speed is where it's at!

Joe Beaman

Damien Emery

Absolutely sensational.....you need more than one day. An over powering exhibit with so much to take in, cannot say enough good things about it. Cheers speedy bill and speedway motors.

Stan Meinders

A lot of meat cars and engines. Not too interested in the toys though.

April Morrison

The exhibits are great and the staff was very knowledgeable and had a lot of stories about the items in the museum. There is also a great view of the city of Lincoln

I did only a couple of things while in Lincoln, Nebraska and the visit to the American Speed Museum was far and away the most exciting. I'm not a gearhead and have not watched Formula 1, Le Mans, or any of the other great races (although I do like NASCAR). There are many race cars on the first level (its a 3-story building) but I liked the quirky Studebaker Streamliner, the stately Bucciali, The Duesenberg, the Tucker, and a funky hearse the best. For me though, the real treasures were upstairs: a display of hundreds of hood ornaments from famous and not-so-famous car makers: Pierce-Arrow, Bentley, RR, Pontiac, and others. Some were elegant and stylish while others were really pedestrian and odd. My thanks to Jeff, the docent who took time to show me around the museum, answer questions, and describe many of the cars and paraphernalia. Additionally, he had been a friend and admirer of Bill and Joyce Smith, the founders of the museum, and Jeff told a few anecdotes regarding their family. Admission was $5; no food or beverages allowed; there was a coat rack for jackets & coats; the restrooms were clean and nice; and there is a small gift shop.

Henry Parker

Best museum I have ever seen.

Trevor Hinze

Best museum in Lincoln. The size of the collection in unbelievable and so is the quality of the displays.

Bryan Martin

Cool place to visit. So much to see. Highly recommend this one

Bonnie Hamilton

We will be returning! Loved it!

Lukáš Civín

Surprised how rich the collection is and how clean and shiny it is. We spend nice time here..

Charley Carlin

The Museum of American speed is quite a conglomeration of some small medium and large collections of various things. Yes there is a bunch of Indy and open-wheel race cars that are displayed wonderfully and laid out in a very spacious Museum it must be several hundred thousand square feet. Then there's a nice collection of model T era stuff including the five millionth Model T ever built. The museum is built with lots of love and includes collections of children's push carts I should say pedal carts and they are an overwhelming collection. In the stairwell they had a collection of over 600 lunch boxes. What that has to do with speed I'll never know. They had a wonderful collection of hood ornaments it was impressive. They had an unbelievable collection intake manifold. Never have I seen so many manifolds wall mounted on the wall several hundred in a minimum. Then they say they have a Bonneville and a drag racing section, but with only three or four Dragsters and four or five streamliners I think it's just a small grouping. Let's see and then there were the midget racers they had an interesting collection of midgets and that was nice. There was another room that had soap box derby cars and a short video of the finals in the 1936 I believe World Championships. I'm sure I've left off many things as this place is overwhelmingly huge, and I had to stop I couldn't take any more Museum that day after a couple hours of walking around being incredibly overwhelmed. I think it's a must-see museum for any enthusiast they'll be something for everybody and be prepared have lunch first and then go for it

Josh Leber

Really neat and hope to come back when in town again.

David Brown

Erica Thomas

To all families with children, avoid this place!!! We had the worst visit of any place we've ever been! Completely family UNfriendly and very rude staff! If this place hates children so much they should just not allow them! Ruined our father's day outting!

Timothy Rowden

I thought I had died and gone to gearhead heaven! Even my wife enjoyed it. We would highly recommend it to everyone.

Monroe Bonnard

This hidden gem, located in the industrial area of Lincoln, Nebraska is by far one of the most impressive automotive museums I've ever seen. Collected over a lifetime by "Speedy" Bill Smith and his wife Joyce, if it was a "speedster" or made a vehicle go faster you will likely find it here. From Indy 500 Race Cars, Dragsters, and Nascars to Pedal Cars, Hot Rods, and an Impressive selection of Rare Model Ts you will need several hours to see all three floors. Among the surprises I found was a 1950s Kid's Car Wash Kit complete with Simoniz products in metal cans, a collection of Tether Cars - had no idea these existed, and some very detailed Auto-themed dioramas. The lunch box collection covered three walls in the stairwell, autographed guitars covered the ceiling of a room that had auto-themed record albums all around the walls. If you are in the area, put this museum on your must-see list. It truly has something for the entire family.

ROD Husk

Very neat displays. From model cars to modern Nascars and everything in between.

Shane Goertzen

Awsome museum goes on and on

Lanny Ropers

Some really cool stuff here and a lot of history some people would get a kick out of!

Shirley Baucom

This museum is definitely worth visiting even for non drag racing fans. There is tons of stuff besides motors and cars, but the one flaw is it is a guided tour and they do not give you enough time to look and read other stuff that you may be interested in. They need more leniency towards the accessibility to view items that you may want to stop and see but the tour guide does not share that info. The tour is 2 1/2 hours but the guide does not allow any time to really study and see other stuff besides what he wants to show you. Maybe allow people 10 or 15 minutes to take pictures, read what they choose or just rest before moving onto the next floor. And it would be nice if there were morning tours available as well. Also for people who work it would be nice to have one tour available on a weekend day. But all in all it was a wonderful, clean and fun experience. Thank you.

Tom Lococo

Awesome! This place is an unknown secret that needs to be let out!

Barbara H

Do not miss this place Amazing huge collection.

Dale Johnson

This place is awesome nothing else to say, if you get a chance to visit be sure and go.

Marcy Reisdorff

Fantastic automotive museum! Mostly relevant for those with an interest in vintage racing equipment. There are multiple areas with numerous examples of flathead-based speed equipment, as well as purpose-built engines from the turn of the 20th century on. There are also areas that showcase collections of pedal cars, toy cars, and glow fuel racers. One afternoon, whets the appetite for a return trip.

Rita Buschle

If you like cars, and racing, this is a good place to visit.

Ronald Hess

Shawn Timoney

A must see!! I was amazed all the neat stuff to see and the staff was so friendly can not wait to go back

Randy Swenson

Great displays and educational reading material. A collection like no other. Appeared to be transitioning some displays as reader material didn't match the displayed item in some places.

Colby Coleman

My favorite place in Nebraska. It's 3 stories, full of cool stuff

Eric Johnson

Great museum, some of the most rare engines and cars of the racing world you'll ever see. Truly the beginnings of today's racing is in this place. If you appreciate speed and the card that go fast you'll love this museum. Some of the very best and cordial guides as well.

Ramona Bessler

My grandsons (8 & 11) said "This place is amazing!" My daughter claimed it was a "hidden gem". The volunteer named Jeff answered all of our questions but gave us plenty of space for our family tour. We had a wonderful afternoon!

Virgie Hoselton

This is a must see place, plan on staying a long time , alot to see and so clean and we'll displayed

Dustin Fierstein

Roger Fischer

It's a great time,if you love cars it's a must..

Cara White

Oh my what a great Museum

William Parsons

Very impressive displays of the history of racing.

Brad Hodgin

It's hard to describe how great this place is. A collection so large that you can spend days (plural) just walking around and you probably won't be able to see it all. Rare sports cars, race cars of every class from about every era, motors on display, etc. The memorabilia showcased here is without a doubt the best in the world. If it relates to cars or racing, you can expect it to be on display here. HIGHLY recommend checking this place out.

Greg Gilbertson

If you have any interest in cars you should go here! Also thanks to our guide very knowledgeable. Thanks

Doug Dillard

Fun place.
