Here you will be able to see all the feddbacks of people who have information of the products of C. M. Russell Museum (Tourist Attraction) in the area close to Montana.
At this moment the firm gets a rating of 4.7 stars over 5 and this rating has been based on 363 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is virtually the highest, and it is based on a very high number of opinions, so we can think that the valuation is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to write tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction is included in the category of Museum.
Absolutely amazing. And they have a display of some of his best works on display until September. Great Falls sucks, but stopping here when you visit makes it worthwhile. Enjoy!
Wonderful, beautiful and breathtaking paintings by Charles Russell. This is a wonderful museum with much to see along with other artists. This is my third year visiting from Canada and love it every time. Not to miss. Life is Good! :)
The Russell home and log cabin studio plus a massive museum with art and displays well laid out. What a great tribute to America's best western artist!
We had a team building experience here for work and got a guided tour. It was very educational and fun! I plan to go back on my own in the near future and explore some more. Definitely give yourself plenty of time, there is a lot to see! Great for all ages!!
Of the countless museums around the Great Falls, Montana area, CM Russell Museum is my favorite. If you're interested in art, history, or CM Russell himself, the CM Russell Museum is a great place to visit! Such a unique museum, with a comfortable and homey feel. I definitely recommend the museum for anyone living in the area or just visiting.
I was looking for a certain kind of special gift but I could not get any help. The young man was too busy with his phone. It was more important then helping a customer or making a sale!
The Russell is a gem of a museum in Central Montana. One of the best Western museums in the country. Very unfortunate that many of Russell's artworks made their way to a Texas collector. The artwork should have never left Montana.
One of the best western art museums around!
Good art, just not my taste
Amazing. Such a laid back and relaxed crowd. Beautiful art and the employees know so much about it all.
one of the best museums of western art! place is awesome! One of the first great western artists who actually lived the life of a working cowboy before there were fence lines in Montana.
I like the museum
A GREAT museum, and a great " studio" to your and a beautiful redone home to your. 2nd trip to this beautiful museum and a wonderful city
Robt McClure lead us thru the museum sharing a great history of Russell's work. Fabulous work.
Great place to visit in Great Falls. The museum was much larger than I expected. Don’t forget to go downstairs and that you can open the drawers!
Wonderful exhibit and we liked being able to see his studio. Bucket list check off!
This place is awesome. There is some really good art in here. The stories that go along with it makes the whole thing enjoyable.
Awesome museum of the world of CM Russell, with much native American memorablia.
If you are in Great Falls MT you must visit ... love the exhibit and fun gift shop
The lady at the front Sheryl Foxman was a complete witch, rudely commenting in a derogatory fashion about my mothers weight when I kindly asked her about whereabouts. My great grandfather was friends with Mr. Russell and both would roll over in their graves if they knew this wicked lady was running such a travesty of a "show" at the front desk. Hopefully they get someone in there with some bloody manners or I will never return. Rude is an immense understatement by the way.
Super interesting!
Great place to research. Wonderful Western Art.
Well-done museum displaying the cowboy/artist's many works. In March, the museum was turned into a sales venue for Western Art Week, so most of the galleries were closed. However, I was able to get a heavily discounted ticket to tour the galleries that were intact.
I love the holiday activities they for the kids . I love the giftshop. They have an amazing history about what happen In the day before montana existed
Worthwhile. Takes two plus hours. Super cute gift shop.
Great art work and informative tour.
The guide we had new absolutely nothing about Charles Russell waste of time, the museum has more artists works than Mr Russell's, I initially thought this was a Charles Russell museum they should at least have copies of his work if they can't have the originals. Hard to find the museum
Wonderful art and info on an extrodinary man.
Great museum depicting how the west was. Art and statues.
Western Art Museum. Absolutely First Class!
Loved this place I like to see history and art. To see them together is was even better.
I am a native of great Falls return today for a high school reunion. The Russell museum was a mandatory field trip for all elementary school students when I was a kid. It has grown dramatically since then and has some of the best western art in the United States, comparable to the Booth, the Amon Carter and the Gilcrease. If you’re in town be sure to see the Lewis and Clark heritage and interpretive center out on the river on the northeast side of town.
Great place to go and enjoy with family.
my Grand children loved playing with all the dress up stuff... very fun..
Beautiful museum. A great tribute to Charlie!
A highlight to tour during the Western Art Weekend thanks to Pepsi. The restoration of the studio was incredible, to see the notes & unfinished works, a true pleasure.
Highly recommend a stop!
Interesting art, interesting stories about the art and the artists. Real glimpses of the west of 100 years ago.
A nice and interesting museum but 14 $ for about 90 minutes is a bit steep.
A wonderful collection of western art. Make sure see the Return to Calgary exit. Outstanding show of some of Charlie's best work.
Interesting museum with a wide variety of western paintings, sculptures and artists of the west. Tough on allergis.
A tastefully beautiful tribute to Russell and to the American West. I've already recommended it to people who've told me they'll be going through Great Falls.
Nice area
Wonderful collection of CM Russell and other western artists. The Trigg exhibit and the lodge screens allow a view into the artist's personal life.
Plan to spend some time here.
Thank you DJ McKay
Wonderful Western and cowboy art museum. Events here always well done
Beautiful old western artwork. Definitely worth a visit.
Very well run museum. They're always having special events for the kids. I never knew that Western are could be so cool!
Lots to see. I couldn't believe how big it was inside.
About 1/4 Russell art, the rest other western artist's work. All work nicely displayed. Nice setup of later in life home and adjacent studio.
The new Contway bronzes out frount
Very well-kept museum. Deceivingly bigger than the outside of the building leads on. The gift store has a lot of unique gifts and replica paintings. Very family friendly and a wonderful piece of Great Falls history.
Didn't have enough time to drink in all the information and and wonderful art. Particulary enjoyed seeing how his art grew from early beginnings.
No way a person could take everything in in one day. The gift shop is awesome too. A place to revisit & revisit.
Love this museum
In answer to the question how was the CM Russell Museum, two words: world class.
Overpriced for what it is. Almost seems like it is trying too hard to be a museum but just seems lackluster. Much of the art isn't art and/or isn't Charley Russell works. Photography (even no flash) isn't permitted, which seems ridiculous. Spend your time and zero dollars at the History Museum instead, which was more interesting.
Great little place that showcases art fron Great Falls own C.M. Russell. Good for an afternoon trip.
Worth a visit. We stopped in while passing through. Figured we would spend a half hour or so, which turned into two hours. Lots of great paintings and history, along with some museum pieces. My only complaint is the lack of direction of how to progress through the museum. No theme to follow, which is partly why it took two hours.
Great place. Beautiful artwork
Really enjoyable and large collections. Time well spent
Very educational, calm, and even has a play discovery room for kids. People are kind and informative.
CM Russell was so talented. The details are what draws you in to his work!
Very well done. Well worth the fee to get in.
Great museum if you like Western art. Worth the trip.
Great place to see Montana history and how our state and people were. If you like cowboy or wildlife art, this is the place to go.
love art do art
Outstanding CM Russell Museum. A must see.
Very intimate museum covering all facets of the artist's life and times. I especially liked the section dedicated to the women in Russell's life.
Great museum and friendly staff, be prepared to see a lot of C.M. Russells work.
Fabulous display of a great cowboy artist. We had a great experience and would recommend the venue to any visitors to the area. The staff went friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Well done Great Falls.
I thought this was just going to an art museum but it's so much more! I love the Russell home with it's character and antiques. I loved the Cabin Studio and imagine watching him paint there or coming to check on him and finding him sleeping on the cot. And the museum with it's variety: Western Art, displays on Western life, so much info on bisons, native American items, saddles, hats and a hearse! The museum store is also pretty awesome. They have nice gift items.
Fun, huge and informative. Small fee.
I like going in and looking at everything they have.
Loved so much that now I'm becoming a fan of western art.
Beautiful museum. Very clean and very well layed out
Amazing! Very interesting learned a lot of history and facts. Could spend two whole days there.
Nice just not great.
We only had an hour so the receptionist made recommendations of what to visit first. She was right on. This is an amazing place and will definitely come back when in town.
As with many other mostly-self-taught artists or musicians, Russell has been underappreciated. Do not miss this - and you will develop a thirst for more of his work, such as his mural of the Lewis and Clark expedition meeting Native Americans that is in the Montana Capitol Building.
I LOVED the Russel paintings. I wish there were more of his works there. Whole family had fun. My only complaint is in one of the exhibits there was graphic nudity on one of the paintings, right at eye level of my children. Not something I was prepared for going to the Charlie Russel Museum.
Charles M. Russell paints Western sunsets in a manner only paralleled by God. The cool part about the Great Falls CMR museum is that many of Russell's cowboy paintings were sold out of state, but most of his Indian paintings remain in state. He's a legendary Indian painter, captured a wonderful way of life as drastically changed with the closing of the frontier.
My favorite part of trip.
Great showcase for a fabulous collection of Charley's diverse art. Well told stories and art descriptions. Galleries and map could benefit from numbering or lettering, perhaps I missed the guide. I had a hard time flowing through the large impressive exhibits. Mostly high ticket items in gift store, westernish, not all related to Russell. Much better selection of books and moderately priced items related primarily to the artist in Montana historical museum in Helena. Russell museum in Great Falls new modern building, Helena museum old with friendly staff. See both! Stay in Helena, much more modern small city with more to offer; large famous Russell hangs in state Capitol building directly across from the museum.
Love this place! I find something new each time.
If you're a Charlie Russell fan then this is your Mecca. You really get the feeling he's there, hiding.
Enjoyed being able to walk through house and studio. Interesting video in studio.
Really I treating place. I would like to go back and see it again
This is a "must see" Museum. It has something for all ages. A true feel for the past.
Awesome
Great art, great Montana history - all smartly displayed.
Friendly and Full of Treasure
Great adventure.
It was exciting to learn about Charlie Russell's life, his friends, and his art work in Great Falls, Montana.
Love coming here with the family.
The C.M. Russell Museum is a tucked away, western secret. Galleries of art depict cowboys experiencing the world from a whole different point of view. The display of traditional, Native American wear is quite amazing. Models of miniature, wheeled transportation is fun to see and there is even an area for the kids to dress up and imagine they are living life out on the range.
Very best gift shop unique selection top quality merchandise
A wonderful museum for western and particularly northern Rocky Mountains and plains art and art history. A must see for any visitor to Great Falls. The Charlie Russell story and the collection of much of his work on permanent display provide real insight to how the west evolved and grew from wild to settled and civilized.
Very friendly staff Good museum very interesting
Amazing art work and the newly renovated/restored Charlie Russell house and studio is a must see.
Amazing history and artifacts!! Great for families!!
Awesome...
I have been a fan of Charlie Russell at for most of my life and couldn't resist stopping at the museum when I was in the area. The care that has been taken to restore, care and preserve his legacy is highly commendable. It is also kid friendly for a museum. I took my four-year old through it and he really enjoyed the visit.
Kids love it
I think this park is very beautiful
Great art exhibits of the well known artist. They’ve added quite a bit recently, worth a visit!
I was glad to finally visit the museum, it's a nice art collection and nice to walk around and learn about it. I'd like to come back when I'm around.
Excellent museum and alot of American history
Neat place dedicated to a neat person!
Comprehensive collections. $4 for students.
The museum was surprisingly large and the variety/complexity of the exhibits were outstanding. Highly recommended!
Great place to go and enjoy the art and life of Charlie .
You need at least 3 hours. Great museum.
Great place to learn some heritage of Great Falls. The museum has art pieces coming and going all the time so visit back a few times a year to see what is new. The tour for the school kids is the best field trip they get to go on for the year! The outside house is only open during the summer months so plan your trip around that. There are a ton of original works you get to see in first person. This museum is a first class place as you get to see it up close and personal no ropes and glass you have to look through. The tour guides are very informative as they know a lot of details others would walk right past. There is so much art that you could spend days so plan for at least one full day to take it all in and not be rushed. It is fun to see and hear the kids talk about what they are seeing as they travel back in time looking at the works of art by Charles m Russel! It is also a great way to see the old west in a raw unbiased way as c m Russel saw it and heard about it. I want to personally thank the museum for offering such a wonderful experience and we will be back often to help support such a big part of our great town.
Great, educational, artistic don't miss this place if you are ever in the area
This museum was a great experience!
Nice place to go and learn but rather pricey to get in and look around, also not enough parking.
If you are interested in the history of the old west, told by art work and artifacts, this is a must on your travels through Great Falls. Be sure to take a tour the the original cabin of Charlie Russell as it does show the character of the time.
Clean, and well kept museum. Not a big fan of Westerns, but this museum kept me fascinated.
Lots of great peices!! The house was Amazing!!
Great place to learn and experience Western US art. Has few, but qulity, things for kids.
Staff was very polite. Really enjoyed the great collection of art.
Amazing artwork collection and history lesson too. Well worth the small price of admission. Gove yourself a couple hours at least to see it all
Very nicely displayed and informative! I would go back... Fantastic Gift Shop as well! Reasonably priced admission. Plenty of parking.
The woman at the front desk (Ms. Foxman?) was terribly rude! I went to the museum with a group and everyone else had their university student ID except mine was in the car- she would not take my word I was a student and made me go out in the pouring rain to get it. Once I handed it to her she said in a snarky, condescending voice "I hope that was worth saving $5!" She was so nasty to all of us the we almost left, and in hindsight should have. Be prepared to have museum staff hover and follow you around awkwardly- yet have no knowledge and not be able to answer any questions. I have never been to a museum anywhere in the world where the staff was so rude, disinterested and generally clueless. The bison exhibit is well done and worth seeing! The postcard station is also a fun and interactive.
A must see museum. We spent 3 hours viewing everything
I work there in Security.
A terrific exhibit of the man who best captured the American West of the 19th century. His best known oils, watercolors, and sculptures are all on display, but I especially enjoyed the many small illustrations/sketches he included in correspondence with friends.
Awesome loved it but under reconstruction not many pictures in upper area
Great attention to detail
I enjoyed the history, the story of Russell, his artwork. The museum is laid out strangely, though, and the map they give you is difficult to follow. Also, the building seems to be way more space than needed with lots of empty rooms and unnecessary open areas.
Our family loves the sculpture garden out front and we walk there almost every evening in the summer to see the moose and elk. The museum has a lot of great exhibits and activities for kids. It can be a little tone-deaf at time with its romanticism of the american west and its treatment of natives.
I didn't know Charley M Russell actually joined a local tribe and went through their ritual to become a full member. Not much about it is known. When they removed his statue with him all dressed up in the native cloths he wore I thought I'd better make a note somewhere to remind me how the museum changes stuff around.
Great Western Art Exhibits. Definitely worth the stop.
They don't tell you before you purchase your tickets that the "Studio" is under renovation and not available for display. They also don't tell you that many of the exhibits are either empty or only partially filled. Very expensive for the little content they actually have and only half of it is C.M. Russell art. What they do tell you is to visit the expensive gift shop and a very long list of snide don'ts as they look down their noses at you, while glaring at your children. ( our youngest is 10) We had a better time at the disc golf course or the giant springs state park. the only positive is the post card making station.
This is an outstanding museum dedicated to C M Russell and the American West.
This museum was well planned with a veriety of western art and many works by CM Russell. The history lessons alone we're worth the trip.
The museum puts on events throughout the year aimed at bringing people in and in particular youth so that they can become drawn to all that the museum has to offer. Really, a lovely place to visit.
If you're interested in history your review might look different. It was interesting enough, well put together and easy to follow. Security needs to work on attitude though. I missed the sign saying no drinks since I went in the exhibit from an odd direction, the lady at the desk didn't say a word about my water bottle. But oh my god, when I took a drink from my water security was sure to come over and yell at me for bringing it in. His behavior was on the level that I was acting like I was spraying the pictures. Very rude. I left right after that.
Love CM Russell art work, but could not find any of his sculptures. Limited numbers of his paintings sketches and water colors are there. Many excellent works by other artist on property. Beautiful buildings, art work and grounds including Mr. Russell 's home and studio. Very worth the time and money to visit.
I am happy that I was here. I like to see more interest place
Love going there randomly.
I'm getting myself introduced to Western Art. CM Russell Museum is a really good place to see artworks of Charlie Russell. His works include sculptures as well as paintings.
Fun museum. Might be a little boring for non artsy people, but you can do your own pace and it's definitely worth a visit!
Great place. Not over whelming. Excellent collection
Very nice art museum. My wife studied his work while in college and wanted to go to the museum.
Great art collection and experience.
