REVIEWS OF Leila's Hair Museum IN Missouri

Pedro Navarro

Quite an interesting place, if rather small. I had no idea that people would weave hair in such intricate patterns and shapes. It costs $15 for adults and $7.50 for those 17 and under. It consists mainly of framed wreaths made out of mostly human hair, as a tribute to family members.

This place is utterly fascinating. A little quirky and certainly a bit odd but totally worth the trip.

Linda Clifford

Totally awesome collection of art made from human hair.

Robert Shirley

Educational but this hair weaving custom of the Victorian age is not my cup of tea.

Kylie Cronin

Totally great place for the kids

Krystal Royal

Uhh.. nice

Rosie gave a great tour of the “museum”. No politics, no religion (besides descriptions of religious art). The museum is worth seeing because it’ll stick in your mind forever. If you’re like most of us, you had no idea that hair was used as a genealogical database before DNA and detailed family trees. Besides the record-keeping aspect, the detailed tatting-like work that was performed using hair is incredible. The tour is just long enough because at some point you’ve seen it all, but the details are incredible to see. The Smithsonian will have this stuff at some point, but I recommend you see it here first.

Just amazing! Leila is amazing. Full of historical and fun information. Will be recommending this to many and will be going back!!!

Grace Chin

Bizarre experience, and Leila herself is as interesting as her collection. The oddities in this place aren't limited to Victorian Hair art - there are a few other items that she's collected. There's no other place like it - would highly recommend if you've got the time to go there.

Before there was photography, there was hair.

The Celtic Viking

It is a weird but awesome place. Good enough for Ozzie and Jack Osborne to visit here this week.

Tim Sullivan

Here is just one example of the racist crappy things they have posted when you try to go to this museum. There is an actual picture of trump and a police lives matter sticker not pictured. Guess don't come here if you're not white. (for future generations, as a reference point, I am typing this after Trump's Helsinki press conference and after his family separation BS and these are still up)

Aimee Christian

Way too expensive for What it was.

Kate Laukhart

Jamie Everitt

Food was great. Service sucked.

Arnold Davis

Edifying experience learned things I didn't know before

I loved all of the hair oh my and i also loved how she brought politics into it TRUMP MAGA 2020

Mike Sewell

Great tour. Leila is the reason not just anybody can put hot wax on your body to remove hair. Museum is pretty cool. It's crazy what people could do with hair. They also offer classes four times a year.

Unbelievable of what you can do with hair. Amazing

Lize Smith

Such a unique place! The owner was full of information and personally lead our tour. It was a great experience and there are also classes where Leila will teach you how to make a hair wreath. One of a kind museum.

Helen Maringer

An in-depth look at the strange world of hair wreaths, hair jewelry, and other historical hair art. Housed in an unassuming building, you'll see hair of ex-presidents and immigrants and lots of anonymous families. Leila even offers classes on hair art techniques. Expect religious and and colonial undertones throughout the museum.

Alice Muzzey

Fantastic. I have a picture of a baby with my sistershair and baby items . The picture is done by artist Adelaide Hiebel in 1931. The name of it is "Sweet Baby O Mine". It is beautiful, my sister's hair was natural curly.

Very unique museum about the ways people used to keep hair to remember each other. If you're a history buff, this place is super interesting. They also have reliquaries with relics of the Virgin Mary's hair and her mother St. Anne's hair, if that's your thing.

Leila is a living legend. She has had so many extraordinary experiences. The exhibit is varied and fascinating, but doesn't compare to the life story of this amazing, strong woman.

Sara Lahue

I was very impressed with this museum! I love it

Museum is interesting, the only let you take photos in the lobby. We got a personal tour. Leila is a conservative Trump supporter. Save your money and just google.

I knew that they did rings, and watch fobs of hair of loved ones that had pasted buyt did not know that it was also something given as a present wife's hair to husband as a wedding gift.

Norma Orton

PACKED with items to view and the owner is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

Leah Bockhahn

A very odd and eclectic place. Leila is full of knowledge and has an amazing interest. The beautiful hair wreaths were something worth seeing and she has hair from some familiar and famous faces. She offers classes a few times a year and is writing books, too! Admission is $15 for an adult, which was much more than I had anticipated but it truly was a one of a kind place.
