REVIEWS OF Forest Park IN Missouri

Katherine Langdon

What a wonderful common space! There is so much to do here in any season, including a world-class Zoo. Visit! The only downside is parking during big events: it's very slow to get everyone in and out, and if you aren't early you can have an arduous hike from your car to your destination-- not a small place!

Alaric D'Souza

Forest Park has ample venues for entertainment coupled with beautiful walking paths and open grassy areas. The museums are mostly free and full of educational content presented in family friendly ways. There are also frequent free events including concerts and plays. I would give the park 10 stars if I could.

Adithya Naresh

Very peaceful place in St.Louis. Great place to go for a stroll and enjoy the greenery. There is also a kayak and boat rental place plus a nice food court area so one can definitely spend a half a day or more there.

Farrakhan Muhammad

This place is pretty cool. Nice big parks covered with trees as far as you can see. Tennis courts, hand ball courts, a cafe that serves small items for high prices, and that's about it. No basketball court for some reason. Not sure why parks shy away from our demographic, maybe they fear competitive activity between urban folks(can't really say "their racist" anymore without starting a riot)

Nadia Haywas

The Jewel Box in the park is a most unusual greenhouse. It is very small but one of a kind. There is a fountain down the middle which is rarely turned on because the greenhouse is often used as a wedding venue. The surrounding area offers a reflecting pool and beautifully landscaped walkway. The Korean war memorial is a short walk away.

Roger Shively

Hopefully I remember to come back and edit this the more I visit. But it's shear size alone gives it 5 starts in my opinion. It's well maintained, plenty of mixed open space and foliage coverage paths, I believe a golf course and a museum hidden in there, plus a zoo. Just to name a few things I plan on exploring when I find them.

Zena Tapuro

This is the best zoo I've been to so far. Their exhibits are pretty extensive and I wish I took more pictures. Their indoor exhibits include the penguins, birds, primates, herpetarium, and more. These were the only indoor exhibits I visited. The park is free but the parking is $15 for the whole day. Highly recommended to visit for families due to its friendly children interactive events and train tour.

Sue Anderson

The zoo is all decked out for Halloween & looks spooktacular!! :) Great way to spend the day - walking around the zoo!

Tamas Nagy

Huge park, prepare for a long walk if you want to cross it on foot. Maybe better to bring your bike. There are a few nice buildings too, some of them housing museums and exhibitions.

Kathy Ferguson

Well kept. Parking can be a challenge overall just a wonderful place. Plan your trip so that you are not trying to navigate traffic between 5 & 6 pm. Traffic just doesn't move

Michelle Young

I attended the annual family health and fitness run walk. I love how all of the Forest Park area is being upgraded. It's starting to look beautiful, again. I'll visit there now more often, for serene walks, and all of the wonderful attractions. Please, keep up on the improvements; it makes St. Louis look great!!

Deedee Chatty

We walked along the Park prior to going to the Zoo. Forest Park is beautiful in its early morning glory lol before it gets packed with tourists and locals. My 2 year old loved running along the trails and thought the Zoo was the best thing to ever happen to her!!!

Brandon Lippie

This zoo was absolutely gorgeous and free... And the prices for things were not outrageous. I really wish we had more time here to check it out, it will defiantly be a place to visit with my family again. We did a quick stop in while we were traveling through as we had to see the polar bear. Glad to see it was doing well and getting an icy treat as it was a hot day.

Wrighter Awn

Forest Park and the St Louis Zoo are in the same area and are connected. We loved the whole experience. Parking in forest park is free or you can pay $15 to park closer to the zoo in the zoo's lot. Everything about the zoo is a great destination when in St Louis. It's free and concessions are moderately priced. Very open and enjoyable for both children, 3 and 1. Penguin and bear exhibit were a family favorite.

Claudia Vaughn

The grounds and fountains are lovely. The original Padua was used for concerts, it's a shame that they don't do that with the one that was built in its place. with such beauty surrounding it, it would be relaxing to sit and listen to live music

NATALIE REDMOND

This a a St Louis treasure. Lots of things inside our park. The zoo, the History Museum, the Art Museum, the Muny and the Boathouse and also a great place to have family fun on the grounds. It hosted the St Louis World's Fair years ago. We love our park. There's the favorite Hippie Hill with the huge water fountain.

Erin Goodenough

So much to do and very relaxing. I love all the views and history throughout the park. All the culture and the museums, the zoo, the Muni, the science center, the ice rink, the walking paths, the golf course, the fountains, and everything. It's a wonderful place to be.

Helen Montgomery

Had a great time at the zoo. Got there before 9 and got to pet the stingrays and the sharks for free (normally around$4 a ticket). We also got into the children's zoo for free. The only disappointment was more animals were not out in their exhibits due to cleaning. Overall we had a great time.

Humaira Ikhlaq-Rosinski

We always pack a picnic basket and a game. My favorite spot is the Art hill the view is gorgeous, kids love rolling down. If you get board or if you don't like picnics there is a lot to do for free. Zoo museum the boat house or just walk.

Angela Hahn

The Art Museum, Zoo, and Science Center are some of the main attractions in this park. It is beautiful and filled with entertainment. The parking isn't great but you are able to bike along the bike paths.

Jihad Bey

What can I say. Absolutely Loved it Daughter Loved it. She had the time of her life there. So much to do there. Great Place to visit.

Lewis Johns

Looks nice have not seen the entire park yet. The first hour of walking around is peaceful, therapeutic.

Sebastian Patel

Loved the zoo. All the animals seemed happy except the big cats. The food was good and not crazy expensive. The flow is the zoo was great band helpful for feeling like you’ve seen everything. The Art Museum is walking distance from the zoo and free. Definitely worth going.

Tom Imel

Love this Zoo! Just a great place to take the family. And the day we went it was just beautiful. They also have a lot of fun things for Halloween

Mandy Ross

I absolutely love this park! I have been coming here weekly for the past couple years and it never ceases to amaze me. I love to go on runs in Forest Park or ride my bike on the bike trail that runs along the exterior of the park. I have also attended numerous events hosted within Forest Park that were a lot of fun and easy to get to. There's an abundance of activities and opportunities to partake in every single day so you can effortlessly find something to do. Whether you're looking to check out a museum, hit up the zoo, get a round of golf in, or even ice skate, there's always something in Forest Park to keep you entertained. Additionally, the landscape here is gorgeous and it's a wonderful place to relax and have a picnic or BBQ. Forest Park is the perfect place for a family outing or even an intimate stroll through the park for a first date. The only negative thing I can say about Forest Park is that it is huge and easy to get lost. Luckily, if you keep walking in one direction you'll eventually make your way out. Forest Park is my favorite park in St. Louis and I'm sure that if you visit it'll become yours too.

Mark Wilkins

Beautiful place to enjoy the day. Lots of activities throughout the park to do. Such as the zoo, space center, art and history museum. Ect.

Gabriella Hymbaugh-Sparrow

It's gorgeous. The lake is so pretty and they have paddle boats! It's close to the zoo and it's easy to find parking. There's also a boathouse restaurant nearby that is family friendly!

Bob Anderson

Something for everyone at Forest Park! Motto should be "Yeah, we got that!" A wonderful free zoo, trails, golf course, Science Center, art museum, history museum, the Muny, Jewel Box, Boathouse, paddle boats, tennis courts... and plenty more I'm sure I'm missing. Get your exercise, family time, date night, intellectual time, and relaxation time on. 5 stars of FUN!

Bernardine Stevens

You don't have to do anything here to enjoy yourself. Parking on the street is free. Park your car, spread your blanket and just enjoy the beauty of nature. After driving around and admiring the park, we visited the zoo. Although parking on the street is free, there is a parking lot at the north entrance that costs $15. If the zoo is not on your list, there is an art museum, a science center, golf courses, gardens, and 1904 World Fair things to see. Or, as I pointed out, just go there, park your car or bicycle, and enjoy the beauty of the park.

Dawn Leuchtmann

Some of the greatest free attractions in the country, in a beautiful park. You can visit the St. Louis Zoo, The History Museum, The St. Louis Science Center, and The St. Louis Art Museum, all within the park and all with free admission. I always make a point of going to one of these places every time I'm in St. Louis, and will occasionally plan a trip just so I can go to the zoo. Definitely one of my favorite places!

Cody Hurt

I love Forest Park. Always something exciting going on, and a beautiful way to spend a day. I will say I went for a night stroll through the park years ago. One of the most beautiful and serene experiences of my life. If you ever get the chance take it!

Jonathan Govias

The exhibits and enclosures are designed so that they are spacious for the animals, but close for the purposes of walking. It's also possible to get in very close proximity to some of the animals, like hippos and bears. My children were entertained and energized, not fatigued by the experience.

Denton Lunsford

Forest Park is beautiful. All the attractions are free admission, so there is no reason not to go! The museums, the zoo, the park itself, are all great. You probably wouldn't be able to see the whole park in one day. Also stunning at night.

John Brasher

What's there to say, this park is eye-popping and it has just about anything your crazed little heart could desire. Not to mention free Science Center, Free Zoo, free Natural History Museum, you get the point. Without doubt this is one of America's great public parks and a superlative achievement for any City.

William Minley

So it's not Hollywood magical, but pretty darn close. The special effects are real. Flowers really pop out of the screen at you. The sights, the scents, the poignant scenes! They can stay with you forEVAH! no kidding!

Sammie Brison

Great, had not been for 4 yrs or so, they have done a lot of new enclosures for the big cat country. New Bird garden beautiful. Enjoyed my visit.

Geoffrey Ferguson

I love the diversity of the park. Boat house great food. The Zoo is world class. Golf and ball fields. The Muny of coarse always fun. The Art Museum is forever changing.

Ricardo Santacruz

Best park in the country. So much to do and very well kept. Museums golf courses ball fields and the best free attraction in the country...The St. Louis zoo.

Talise Swoope

Beautiful park. Lots to see and do. Catch the events for even more fun

runner 3367

The zoo is classic STL must go to locale. Safe, secure family fun. Highly recommended

Katie Dasenbrock

Such a big park you can find the perfect spot to read or draw. It's the perfect place to get pictures done depending on the time of the year. You can rent paddle board or kayaks. But don't forget to visit the zoo for free.

Doug Mamroth

Well kept safe public park providing recreational opportunities all four seasons. The upgrades over the past five year put polish on the park to become a bright shinny object in St. Louis recreation

Eric W

actually went to Forest Park for an event that was being held here for a food festival. This wasn't necessarily my first time being in this park of course but it was definitely the first that I was actually actively there for a an event. Best thing about this part is that it's extremely large and has different things going on at all times throughout the day. Great place to go for a walk. Amazing views of course for those that are into photography this is probably like a photographer's playground essentially. It's also right next door to the St Louis zoo. And literally I Stone throw away to them. So you get the best of both worlds you can always walk the park or you can go to the local zoo

Paul Webb

This park is a massive park that is beautiful to walk through or even just to ride through. Forest Park also houses a lot of other places like the Saint Louis Zoo, the Muny, and several museums and other historical places. This park also played home to the 1904 Worlds Fair and a couple of buildings from that fair still stand. The best part of this park is that it and most of its attractions are free to see and go through.

prajakta kulkarni

This place is huge! We visited this place as it was one of the top rated in St Louis and indeed it is. The pictures do not do justice to this place. It is dog friendly and has wide variety of people doing different things.there are many spots for good photography so get your cameras and plan on spending 3-4 hours if you would really want to enjoy this park!

Ray Lewis

They have gone to great effort to give these animals an appropriate and safe environment to live. Shame it was just way to hot. Spring or Autumn would be a great time to visit!

Amanda Sweetpeach

Forest park had lots of activities free and ones you pay for. Its Huge and Beautiful... Best place to spend the day in st. Louis with family, friends or by yourself

Ian Lever

Not only one of the best places in the city, but one of the best places in the country. One of St Louis' treasure chests with many gems inside it from the free zoo, gorgeous grounds, tons of fun events, and so much more. A place where all are and should feel welcome!

Kevin Stjohn

After 115+ years, this park is still attractive. We love walking around among the lush scenery. Plenty of people for people watching. It is a great destination for time in the fresh air and the hustle of St. Louis.

Bill McKenzie

So many things to do here. Free zoo, art museum and history museum. Skating rink, bike and walking paths. Golf courses, wild areas, planetarium/Science Center. Boating, sledding, open vistas. Big! Fantastic! Surrounded by interesting neighborhoods. Unbeatable.

Alex Van de Riet

Zoo, Saint Louis Art Museum, Saint Louis History Museum, Saint Louis Science Center. These are the big cornerstone places to visit, but the park as a whole is a great, fun place to be whether you're with kids or by yourself. Great for running/biking/rollerblading/whatever. I'm born and raised in STL, so I'm 100% biased, but it truly is one of the true highlights of St Louis!

Buster Mcdaniel

Fabulous park in St. Louis, Missouri. If you go, a must to visit in the Art Museum and the History Museum. As you are that close to the St. Louis Zoo, which is free by the way, you should take a visit to it also.

Crissyanna B

We went to the St. Louis Zoo in Forrest Park. The grounds after beautifully maintained, lots of green space. The animal cages were clean and well looked after. We loved the historical buildings on the premises. The hippo area was the by hippo display I've ever been to. All 3 of the girls had a chance to see the animals they truly love, even though we only had three hours to spend there. The zoo is well worth the price to park for just a few hours to a full day there. I honestly think that even if we had been there from open to closing time, that we wouldn't have had time to see it all. We can't wait for a trip back to St. Louis just to go back to the zoo.

Delmor Donald

The Jewel Box is a magical place to get married if you enjoy history and a story time wedding. I have attended a couple of them and weddings done both in the day and evening are gorgeous. The history museum and the zoo are to not be left unseen. Both are free attractions! In fact, the whole Forest Park area is free! Imagine how busy it was during the 1904 World's Fair with nearly 20 million visitors to the area from April to December of that year

Amado Reyes

I love this place! Only been once but unfortunately got caught in the rain - luckily we took a shelter in the museum which was free entry. Hopefully I will visit again before our holiday ends back in the UK.

Erik Staggenborg

Enormous. There is something for everyone here. We chose this spot to get married in due to the beautiful scenery, but it is so much more than that.

Colby Parks

Beautiful large city park with something for everyone. Great for running. Biking is sometimes tough because the path gets over run by pedestrians. Zoo, museums, golf, nature all in one place!

Jason Dyck

We had a great time walking around enjoying the animals. Clean for the most part and we'll maintained.

Mike Buck

Went to the Guagain exhibit and my wife had an injured foot. The guard at the main entrance got a wheelchair for us. The girl at the desk to the exhibit was very nice and friendly. I can't believe this is a free museum. After the exhibit we looked around s little more. Some great pairings for this Midwest museum!

Allison Weiss

I spend a lot of time in Forest Park when I'm in St. Louis riding my bike. The bike loop is really nice and there are so many things to do in park for so many people. The zoo, the planetarium, the history museum, the art museum, the muni opera, restaurants, tennis courts, pickle ball, hand ball, waterfalls, lakes and ponds, and the list goes on........... definitely a must see if you're visiting there!

Joseph Tucker

Awesome park with tons of activities. Zoo always one of the top in the country and is FREE! Awesome science center with fun activities for kids. Free art museum that gets some really cool exhibitions (not always free). Awesome Shakespeare performances during the summer. Great soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, and handball courts. Don't forget the awesome paths and boathouse!

JoAnn Moser

We had a great time as usual. There's not enough time in the day to see all of the animals. My only pet peeve is the rude visitors walking all crazy. PLEASe people, two-way traffic stays to the right. That applies to sidewalks also.

Catrina Lynch

Forest park is the best place for family fun! The Forest zoo is the best zoo I've ever been to. The zoo is huge and has free admission! Get there early because this is an all day adventure. I've never seen such a variety in animals.

Kenneth Krumsieg

Forest Park is one of the coolest things about Saint Louis. It has so much interesting history from the 1904 worlds fair. Alot of the existing buildings are left over from the fair and are used to this day. Art Hill is breathtaking and a great place to have lunch or a picnic. Wonderful for a casual date or workout or even just a afternoon walk. The Zoo is Free also! Forest Park has a little bit for everyone and it's a fun place to experience even if you're just passing through. Highly recommend it to any first timers in Saint Louis.

Karen Garnett

Such a beautiful place to come and see a large variety of plants and trees. Kids always enjoy feeding the giant koi fish in the pond at the Japanese garden. My daughter and I had lunch here and it was tasty and not too expensive. This is a nice place to kill a couple hours.

Bette Glynn

Best burger and get this pineapple coleslaw. Wonderful. With my family

Kellie Null

We visited the zoo! Do not recommend going on weekends but week days if you could! But it is a very nice pretty place! The animals are adorable and well taken care of!

Sarah Myer

Very pedestrian friendly! Bring your cellphone if you are trying to go from one end to the other! Loved the sidewalks and walking trails. Great walk through the park on our way to dinner. Loved seeing all the sites from the world fair.

Anthony Raynor

It's quite a beautiful place. To be in the middle of city, it's hard to be beat. Many animals and other attractions. Plenty of walking spaces. Beautiful foliage. Please don't Miss it.

Andromeda Jones

We visited the Zoo and the St. Louis Art Museum. So much fun! There is pay parking for both, but also lots of free parking if you don't mind some walking! We spent a whole day here and still didn't see it all! Great visit. The zoo is so interactive and there's plenty for little feet to explore! The SLAM is a little less little kid friendly but was able to push a stroller through.

Millie Kwan

Gorgeous park with lots of green space. Larger than Central Park in NYC! Many trails and small gardens within the grounds as well and nice public space at Art Hill. The view looking up at Art Hill and the vista from the top are both very picturesque both during the day and at night. Although I've not been to any live events here, friends have sent pictures and it looks like a blast. Also museums are within the park and they are free. Definitely a must see if you're in St. Louis. Parking seems plentiful but may be challenging at peak times.

Lupe Gonzalez

Forest Park has a great history. And the city took the history and made a large green space that everyone can use throughout the year. Shakespeare in the park in the summer, world class art museum for the winter months and a year round zoo. Go, wander, have fun. What a gorgeous park! I am so impressed with the mix of museums and outdoor features here. We arrived before the flowers were in bloom but I can envision how gorgeous that will be this Spring. I highly recommend this area!

Joan Dewey

Larger than Central Park in NYC. This is a fabulous park. It has the best zoo...entrance is free, an art museum, jewel house, golf course and an out door theater. LOVE THIS PARK.

jonathan hunter

This place is one of a kind. Not only is it beautiful but brilliantly placed where there are several free activities for families. The zoo is so big it's a day event, the science museum, the art museum, botanical gardens, parks, biking, whatever you want to do.

Meredith Deem

Love Love Love this park!!! Always clean, so many different festivals and events that are FREE, beautiful place to watch the sun set... they have lighted side walks at night. They have trash cans which is convenient and lots of parking.

Ederson Mendez

Great big open area park, many different activities to do, many paths to take a stroll on. And many great attractions within the park to explore too like the zoo.

Andrew Schmidt

One of the best things going for St Louis. It has great picnic areas and has the free zoo. If your visiting Stlouis its a good place to stop. You don’t hear of too much crime except maybe some cars getting broken into. It’s is centrally located and is near Clayton and the hill so you have good eats near by.

Quinn Kazanecki

There are amazing things to do here and most are for free!!! Welcome to land of the free entertainment: Free History Museum, Free Art Museum, Free Zoo, and Free shows (Muny has free tickets on a first come first serve basis). There are beautiful trails to walk. And if your feeling up for it a walk around the country's largest City Park. There are horse stables, an ice rink for the colder months, fishing spots, and lots of beautiful places to hide away for a nice afternoon.

Chris Herring

Went to the St.Louis Zoo. Employees were very helpful and friendly! Animal displays were nice however some like the sloth and others were too small. Somw of the animals were also alone. I have no doubt they are getting world-class care, but some could use companionship of their own species. The sloth, orangutan, rhino and others seemed sad. The grizzly, polar bears and hippos on the other hand seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely. The concessions seemed reasonably priced. Train car seats for anyone of size and or height were too cramped. Overall good visit.

Andrew Schwartz

Our niece loved the zoo. Penguin area is great to go to to get relief on a hot day.

Ghiska Ramahdita

Huge park with never-ending beautiful spots! Art museum, historical museum, they're fabulous.

Karen White

Great Family Fun, found a good parking spot, Zoo keepers patient and informational. Hot but worth it. All shapes and sizes enjoying each others company. Thanks St.Louis Zoo. I'll be back.

Sal Miano

Hands down the best urban park in America. Lots of great free things to do for every type of person. Would recommend 12/10

Jim Ernst

Absolutely the best zoo we've ever been to, it reaches incredibly high levels of professionalism and the price is free Amazing what St Louis has been able to do! Much respect all involved it was extremely enjoyable.

Mickey Pietrzak

If there is one thing for St. Louis to be proud of, it's Forest Park. There are very few other places in the world that offer so much free entertainment and experiences. Free zoo, free art museum, free history museum, free science museum, even free theatre. Add to that a beautiful backdrop and it's obvious why so many St. Louisans spend their time here. My only gripes are limited parking and convoluted roads (hard to know how to get in/out).

Charley Clarissa

Beautiful open area includes; the Zoo, Art Museum, Jewel Box Green House, Missouri History Museum, Botanical Gardens, lovely grounds, statues. There are other things that I forget. It's a main attraction of St Louis and has been for over 100 years.

Cara Eplin

Blessed to live in a city with a park this beautiful. So many different things to do. My FAVE place to run!!

Dave Chadwick

It’s lovely to have such a wonderful green space in the heart of town. From the zoo, to the art museum, to the golf course...there is something for everyone. (They should put the Jewel Box back like it was, I think)

Zane Hrubey

Forest park is a beautiful and expansive outdoor space right in the middle of St Louis. It's gorgeous, well kept, and green. Inside you will find both the Art Museum and the Zoo, which are free. I loved spending the day here and would love to come back.

Melisse Fowler

Great park with lots to do in the heart of St. Louis. Wonderful free zoo, art museum, history museum. There's a large paved trail wrapping around and through the park for walking, running, bicycling. Outdoor theatre for world class musical performances. Golf, a small lake where you can rent paddle boats, free concerts, etc., etc..

Omar

The Park is lovely and exceptional especially during twilight hours. The best scenic location that I have discovered is right at the hill that sits across from the Art Museum on the hill. The exact location rests directly behind the statue of King Louis IX. Unfortunately I haven't attached a picture to this review for you to enjoy. The zoo is amazing and I appreciate that the admission into all these locations are free for everyone to enjoy. What I disliked about the park which lessened my ranking is two main items. The first is the trash and lack of upkeep which takes away from the beauty of the park. I have seen first hand people throw trash in the streams and streets when a trash receptacle only a few feet away. The second issue is the the parking in the parking. It is very limited and hit and runs can be an issue when you park along the curb. I would highly suggest that you take note of the vehicles that park around your vehicle. I was at the science museum and witnessed a silver Acura back up into a Volkswagen and then speed off when they saw that my girlfriend and I witnessed them. I hope this review helps and remember that this is a subjective review and is only based on my personal experience.

Fitness Savage

Zoo was very well done. In few cases you can get shockingly close to animals. Some were because if design but some I think were due to happy animals. There's one penguin that splashes you. Reflecting pond area, like you se in DC, was beautiful! Museums are interesting and well done.

Karmen Christlieb

Some of the rangers by the zoo can be unfriendly but most of the time they are very helpful and informative. Easy free parking. Very scenic and spacious. Lots of places to explore. I always enjoy my visits to Forest Park. Walking trails, bird watching, art museum, history museum, zoo, fountains, unique buildings and sculptures, Ice skating in the winter, paddle boating on the lakes in summer and free events year round!

Amit Athani

The lungs of Saint Louis. Has so much to do over the summer with most of it being free or very low cost. You can do anything from taking a walk in the park to visiting the museums or the Zoo

A1driver4 Hire

I am at the Forest Park Balloon glow! Lots of fun! Even the rain showed up..but the lighter side,so did a RAINBOW!

klesyd

Beautiful park. I love the view from the Grand Basin looking up on art hill. Very relaxing area.

ian bone

A beautiful park with lots of open space to relax. Almost always some event going on here and this is really the hub for museums, the science center, and the St Louis zoo. Lots of paced trails for walking and biking of course and some nice gazebos.

Bill Stoll

Magnificent local Saint Louis park. Perfect for walks, running, biking, hiking.... 100% family Environment. Nature at its best. Venue for the 1904 worlds fair (exposition). Meet me in ST LOUIS!

Cherry Berry

Great place to hang out, walk, run. Nice family place as it have different options for everybody. Zoo is nearby and great Art museum.

Melanio Enero

a great city park. one of those wise decisions many decades ago to dedicate public space for the people of St. Louis. from the free zoo to the planetarium. there's many things to do and many events hosted throughout the year. a gem for sure. best of all its a great place for a walk or a run.

Iryna Bondar

Visited St. Louis for the first time. Beautiful park, has both Saint Louis Art Museum and the Zoo in them. Both are free, ! Has free parking as well. We were hoping there could be a bike sharing system nearby, because the park is just huge, but we couldn't find any unfortunately. In front of the museum there is a beautiful and peaceful pond, alone it could be a great reason to visit the park. Will definitely come back or stop if driving through St. Louis!

Robert Conway

Wow, what an awesome time me and my family had at the St. Louis Zoo! The whole area was so well put together. The zoo itself is absolutely free, but you do have to pay to get into certain areas of the zoo. And, believe it or not, they offer alcoholic beverages and beer at stands throughout the zoo. I mostly only saw these near the entrance, but wow, I can walk around sipping on an adult drink while enjoying some zoo time with my family? That is pretty awesome if you ask me! We had a great time, the animals were out and the temperature was perfect. There was really more zoo than we could see in a day. I would to go back next time I am in that area. Thank you for providing a wonderful place for people to visit and enjoy. There were so many creatures to see and so many environments that were setup to see the different habitats of the animals. My daughter loved the penguins and the otters. They were very active and were great to see. We hope to go back soon and see the rest of the zoo. Also, get a train pass, because it is good all day and helps you get around the zoo easier.

sarah steadman

The park is so big, and so close to the zoo we visited both. Parked in Forest Park, attended the zoo and ate under a pavilion in the park before leaving for home. Other than gas to get there, the zoo is such an amazing experience and there is no entry cost. A few attractions, (carousel, train, etc) do have a nominal fee, as do things like stroller rentals. We especially love the tunnel under the seal pen where they swim overhead and the aviary for wetland birds.

Isaiah Davidson

Forest Park has always been great, ever since I was a kid. Great for picnics, family outings, a visit to the amazing zoo or the infamous science center. 5 stars all the way

Mary Ann Carlson

This park is just beautiful! We are so lucky to have this gorgeous haven in our city. I recently celebrated my birthday with some of my family by having lunch at O'Connell's and then going to Forest Park and the St. Louis Art Museum (couldn't trust the weather to stay outside). Looking out over Art Hill and the view from the lookout is just awesome. I will never tire of it. And the best part is, this was just one corner of it. Tomorrow I can come back and find another precious piece of it. The Zoo. The Jewel Box. A walking trail. And on and on and on.

Rolando Greenfield

Serene and beautiful. An oasis in the middle of St Louis offering a welcoming respite, especially in the waning hours of the day. Looking forward to many repeat visits

This park is gorgeous!! I was visiting St. Louis, and up until then I didn't think there was anything so gorgeous in the area. There was too much for me to see in ove visit, but I definitely have something on the list to visit a few more times to get the art museum, science museum, planetarium, zoo, boathouse, and yhe other magnificent sites that were there.

I always enjoy the Muny. I do feel the muted colors were not what I would of chosen! A more art deco look. Black and gold or silver with a touch of one more color would of been nice. Missed the trees! The show was great! The singers and dancers did a great job!

We visited twice this week while on vacation. This park is beautiful! We ate a picnic lunch both times and let our kids play at the playground. They LOVED both the playground and water play area there! So much fun!

Loved the zoo. All the animals seemed happy except the big cats. The food was good and not crazy expensive. The flow is the zoo was great band helpful for feeling like you’ve seen everything. The Art Museum is walking distance from the zoo and free. Definitely worth going.

Living next to the park enables me to visit it twice a week. Museums are free, zoo is free, boat house, world fare pavillion, grand basin..there are so many places to hang out with friends and family. Golf course, ice rink and bike/running tracks add to park's charm. A complete package.

I love the feeling of "getting away" while yet still in the inner city. (That would be 5 stars) I gave 3 stars because they're steadily removing those quiet and serene areas

The St. Louis zoo is so beautiful. I was really impressed with the grounds and the care given the animals. I don't understand how it can be free, museums too.... I'm from a large city and nothing here is free here. Anyway, lovely aviary, beautiful reptile house and super impressive arctic animal house. Wow, that is how it should be for those critters.

RICK ETTERLING

Loved it. The park is looking very good. Great place to enjoy the day. The museums are spectacular and the zoo never disappoints.

We only drove through the park on our way to & from the zoo but it was gorgeous. The park was very well kept with tons of walking trails ; plenty of people taking advantage. I would love to come back & really see what this park has to offer.

A truly beautiful park. Safe, well maintained, with lovely walkways and picnic or family locations. The roads are also impeccably maintained and yhe numerous facilities make the park itself a valid day location. The only thing of note is while parking is more then available, the roads layouts ate a bit confusing and locals often speed on narrow and often difficult to see blind curves, so drive cautiously and responsibly. My last trip there I heard 8 police sirens in the park and saw 3 fender benders

Ryan Winner

Great park. Lots to do here. I had no idea how big and how much stuff there is to do at this park.

Best zoo EVER! Free entry, you can pay for parking OR park for free if you walk a little. Food and drinks are super reasonable. If you go, ride the train around the park to see all the neat things! 10/10 would recommend!

Gary Hammen

Beautiful place to run or walk, peaceful off beat paths, explorable ponds and paths . If you go for a run around dusk, watch out for the gnats, especially this time of year, because they love beautiful weather too. The southern side is a bit noxious around AM and PM rush traffic.

billy hancock

Zoo is free, close parking is not, a soda is$4.00, a refillable cup is $10.00 with the refills being $1.00. the food is expensive. However I know that the extra money is going to the zoo. Many of the animals were not out. The kids enjoyed the day with Grandma and Grandpa, We found some free parking, but had a little ways to walk. Second time we have been there, will go back.

Joan Wagner

It was beautiful with the full moon out! Street signs could be have bigger print and more advance notice. The park was lovely and clean. We have been away too long.

Megan Dougherty

Fun and relaxing. also a great way to avoid the traffic of the highway during drive time!

Zerk Clinseales

Not our first visit but has been several yrs to pay a visit. We love this place!! From a pond/lake where you can dine or rent boats to taking a stroll along forest paths, to riding bikes on trails to visiting a free zoo or admiring paintings in a free museum housed in gorgeous architecture leftover from a worlds fair, to golfing , to fountains , to playing games on massive green space, to picnicking, to just watching the statues stand tall as the world goes by this place is just hard to beat. Dont miss if you are in downtown St Louis area. What a treasure.

Tim Jewell

Amazing park with lots of free attractions, the Jewel Box greenhouse foyer is a great place to cool off on a hot day. It is a small greenhouse, the.architectural style of the building is impressive and the surrounding grounds are great!

András Benke

Loved the mini railway and the cleanliness of the place. The best part was the reptile & bug exhibition, with the many different spiders available. There even was a lady showing a leafbug out in the open which I've never seen in my life. The only dissatisfaction I had was with the big cats as their cages were built in a way where you could not see them at all Other than that, a great exhibition - only take the train if you don't want to see other parts or walk a lot.

I live here yet this was my first visit to the Boat House Restaurant located in Forest Park . We picked the perfect day a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. The staff are friendly and professional. The scenery is perfect if you love the outdoors . The waitress read the menu to us with a smile and quickly we made the choice to this beautiful ice cream for two dessert. (I don't recall the real name ) Oh my goodness it is delicious! Eating in this restaurant is a delightful experience for family and friends so please you just have to visit one time to experience a welcoming and sensationable feeling .Thank you for allowing me to share my experience!
