REVIEWS OF Cave Vineyard IN Missouri

Beautiful Winery and grounds. Covered pavilions for partys or large gatherings. The cave is a unique experience, I've never seen any other wine setting like it. The wines are very fresh and fruity, just like I like them.

Know before you go. We had a great tasting and then bought wine, cheese, sausage, and biscotti for a table in the cave which was damp and dripping, but comfortable (it's a cave people)...temps outside were 90+ degrees with heat over 100. There is also seating indoors and outdoors under a covered patio. Great people.

This family is so sweet and courteous. The grounds are impeccably clean and kept. I went here for the first time 4/28 but I felt as though I go there all the time. They have an awesome set up too! Our group started off in the back dining area we had the pleasure of tasting five different wines. I liked 4/5 which says a lot. The room was filled with the wonderful smell of fresh baked biscotti made by the mom. There were over five different flavors to choose from. After tasting we were offered to borrow our glass and drink wine on the property. There is an amazing cave down a scenic path which they have set up plenty of tables and seating. We didn't have to walk to the cave because there's a golf cart that holds about five to transport you. We were right in the entrance of the cave so the temperature isn't much different than outside. We had lunch and drank the wine we purchased. They have conveniently placed wine glass returns and trash cans in the cave. I cant wait to go back!

Beautiful Place If You Haven't Been You Should Go..

Very cool winery. The cave was a neat place to sit and drink wine. Hospitality wasn't the best. I felt like every customer was treated like a thief before even walking through the door. The hike down to the cave wasn't bad, but the hike up was tough! Be sure to take as many rests as necessary. There are plenty of benches on the way up. I think they run a shuttle too, but I didn't see it the day I was there.

Korey was a delight! The Cave Red was our favorite! My dear friend from PA wants to return, before going back home.

A very interesting winery. The wine was good. We liked the cave rock white. The employee came off rude at first but then was very pleasant. To visit the actual cave you must purchase a bottle of wine~It is well worth it.

The wines here are very nice (I liked the Cave Rock Red and the Cave Rock White) but the real attraction of this winery is that they have an old saltpeter cave on the property. You can go into the cave with your wine and snacks and hang out. The cave is very clean and has a few lights and some tables so you can see to eat. It's very romantic. If you aren’t into caves but for some reason you came to a place called Cave Winery, there's a hummingbird feeder by the tasting room which is always surrounded by cute little hummingbirds.

THE WINE IS TERRIBLE! I really cannot explain the taste other than bad. It had a metallic taste, which they use steel tanks for aging. I can enjoy and appreciate wines that are aged in steel, but not this wine. My friends and I were unable to choke it down and ended up dumping it. Also, the cave was so,so. This was a gimmick to pull people in. I don't understand the other reviewers on here. My friends and I had an awesome experience at Chaumette, Charleville, and Crown Valley. This one was a huge disappointment. Also, the cave has a "spring" in it, but the water was disgusting. We chose to sit on a picnic bench located on the walk to and from the cave where bees decided to run us off. No impressed and will not go back... EVER!

Deborah Becker

Nice location. Wine was good and you could take a bottle of wine to a cave. Some people brought a lunch to enjoy in the cave.

Treff LaPlant

Don't waste your time driving here. I went to check it out for a family event and as soon as I exited my car and began to walk down the hill to the "cave area", some employee ran out and told me we had to come inside the shop before we could look around. Fine. After entering the shop I was told I couldn't look around unless I bought a bottle of wine. Needless to say I'm not interested in having my event at a place who wants to immediately extort money from me before allowing me to see the venue. Maybe business is poor? Anyway, it was tacky and there are several other more professional establishments around. Don't waste your drive out there.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! (AND one on one attention, to boot!) This was the ONLY great winery in all of Farmington and surrounding cities! (In all of Missouri is more like it!) We had HORRIBLE experiences at Chaumette and Crown Valley and had given up all hope until we met Carrie at the Cave! She was amazing and she TOTALLY redeemed the wine experience that we were hoping to have. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, the the Cave itself is unbelievable! It was so much fun to walk down and the atmosphere and listening to the natural spring / drops of water in the cave, makes me miss it already!!!!

Employee not friendly.

What a great family run Winery! We had a nice visit, tasted some delicious wines and ended our vacation sipping in the cave. It was just the two of us and we celebrated a great find on the last day of vacation! The wines are delicious and our bottles we purchased arrived home safely and in a day or 2 of our return home. The bottles were well packed by Carri and due to restrictions we shipped them ourselves, others from most states should not encounter this snafu. We were treated very well, loved the wine, the company and the smell of the Biscotti Bakery so lovingly attended by Mary Jo, Thank you Cave Vineyard we love you!!! We purchased the Norton...YUMMMMM!

Leslie Bramble

Great location. You're truly out in the country away from all the bustle to escape the wines were all very good and we had a hard time picking a bottle. We choose their Chambourcin 2012. We had the bottle a few days later with Aston Symmetry cigar. It was an excellent pairing. The staff was inviting and friendly. Beautiful country.

Went here on a date with my husband and it was nice. The cave was nice and cool and a fun place to drink wine and eat our Subways sandwiches! I didn't think anyone was rude, but the only issue is that the hill back up out of the cave is a doozy...make sure to have water and rest along the way.

Katrina Matney

Atmosphere was great and so was the staff! Be sure to try the homemade biscotti while you are there. I can't wait to visit again!
