Good description of a pretty bad place

We went in the summer. Not well marked. After we found it, we realized it was totally outside. There was no shade. No place to sit. None of the information could be read from the car. Not a good set up for a summer or bad weather visit.

As a Natchezian, I was not aware of how much of America's history started right here at this monumental place. I love learning new things about my history and culture and the Forks of the Road taught me a lot about that.

Michael Mensi

No trip to learn about the history of Natchez would be complete without spending some time at this important historic site.

So much history in that spot that you could feel what was at that particular spot. The actual chains that held slaves.

I love Civil War History. It's sad, but it's real. So many details here. They've done a great job.

The sale of enslaved African Americans took place here, just on the edge of what was then the city boundary of Natchez. There are historical markers and informative plaques at the Forks.

Such an important place to remember. A shame the state hasn't made more of a feature, maybe trying to hide from the truth!

(Translated by Google) Zone in the middle of the road where there was before Natchez's slave market. It is a parterre with 4 explanatory posters. Useful if you come across. (Original) Zona enmig de la carretera on abans hi havia el mercat d'esclaus de Natchez. Es tracta de un parterre amb 4 cartells explicatius. Útil si us ve de pas.

Wonderful information about the slave trade. May be more reading than most would prefer. It's a quick stop, no more than 20 minutes. Much of the information seemed to center around places other than Natchez

A reminder to the inhumanity that happened here on this soil. It makes yourself crawl to sit there and read what our for father's did to other humans.
