On yet another of my many road trips, I visited this location. Before I proceed with the review, I have to say it is dedicated to the good Samaritan that stopped to help me when my vehicle stalled in traffic. We eventually got it off to the side of the road after "most" of the traffic stopped immediately to let us over. We discussed what was going on and I said that there couldn't be but one thing impacting it as he agreed from what he heard, the gas I'd gotten on my way through or my gas pump. So, I asked if he knew of a store where I could get some started fluid so I could start it (as it is carburated) and being the gentle he was he went off to find some with no luck at his first stop. He came back to find that another helper had arrived and thankfully he did since he advised him where to find the started fluid. He left again; came back with it and I unlocked my hood and removed the breather cover and sprayed it down into the carb's throat. She growled a coupled of times before eventually giving us that sweet sound of success! I let it run for a bit and gleefully thank him - Shephard - his name a soon found out at the end of this ordeal; then took his advice on a store to locate the fuel additive I needed to clean out the gas we suspected was causing me problems. In Shephard's words, he stopped because he didn't want to see someone stranded and he knew that this could be him one day and hopes that some one would help him if he needed it...Shephard, I don't think you'll have to worry about that good begets good!!! So, as a tribute to all that is good about the Delta and the South in general...I'll share my thoughts on this local natural gem in MS. It is a wonder springtime and early summer fishing location that one should definitely venture out to on lazy days and get in some good crappie fishing. If you are an "out of towner" make sure you have your state visitors pass/permit. If you just want to enjoy a stroll along Deer Creek, it's great in the evenings and early to mid-day. The town decorates the decorative floats for certain holidays so if you like sight-seeing check that out during that time of the year. We are the Delta, some times called the Dirty Delta, the Dirty South, the Flat Lands, what ever name you want to call it, it's a place filled with kind people doing kind things and it has natural treasures that you should take the time to enjoy - Loving the South for all she has Southern Outdoors Unveiling True Humanity!!!
