Interesting sculptures. Some beautiful, some different. If with kids of reading age, stay clear of the marble benches. Not all are family friendly. But overall nice place to walk around and spend an afternoon.

Fun and free! If you're a MN native or just passing through the sculpture garden is a must see. It's a great way to experience art and nature. It's close to downtown Minneapolis and uptown so you have tons of options for lunch or dinner while you're out. I'll probably pack a picnic next time.

The modern art on display at this museum was absolutely some of the greatest things I’ve ever seen. I have never before appreciated art in such a way. There were moments where I was brought to tears, moments where I laughed, and moments where I just stood there trying to understand. Some of which I could not, but it was still a beautiful experience. However if I could convince the group I was with about how modern art is not just strange, then it would’ve been perfect. Yes some people who would see a replication of a car from a fatal accident, or body parts set up in a crate, or CDs stuck to a wall with honey dripping down would be considered strange. But the art behind the pieces is everything. I only wish I had more time to understand every single piece. Also if you are in the military you get in for free!!! A member of our group got all 4 of us in for free. Also the gift shop has some really cool books and overpriced souvenirs, but what is a great gift shop with out that? Will definitely come again, but most likely by myself so I can appreciate the art in a different way. But YES make sure you visit if you’re in the area!!!!

Quality, big city art museum. Very manageable. Easy parking, super kid friendly. Fun ten hole mini golf, great for kids or those on a date. Nice, but pricey (the jewelry especially for what was on offer) museum store. Combine with visit to outdoor park and sculpture garden makes for an excellent day.

Natalie L

Love the rooftop golfing and the expansive city views! Beautiful building and impressive artwork.

Masha B

I’ve rewritten this review too many times because I don’t know how to adequately describe what I experienced. Not good. Monet is rolling in his grave.

Manuel Gonzalez

Great art museum but not for everyone. Very modern. If anything it’s worth going for the outdoor sculptures.

Emma Cole

Super delightful staff, fascinating architecture, though provoking exhibits.

Dj Quick

Pretty neat place to explore alot of history in the arts

Hunter Schouviller

Excellent exhibits and the sculpture garden out back is phenomenal on a nice day. The cafe inside is a bit more spendy but has great food.

Ru Kov

Who doesn't love big fun and some interactive art?!!! Peaceful, enlightening, and entertaining. #KovoTravel

Phil Smithback

A rather full collection of modern pieces.

Ibraahim Yuunus

Full of arts, beautiful place for family and friends. Loved it.

Emily Johnson

First of all, the prices were way too high. Then, they have terrible security. There were so many people just walking in and not paying. The restaurant was the worst! We just wanted a glass of water! They sent us to the counter to order then back to the front then to the counter then to a high top than back to the counter and then they said that they had a table ready!!! We were so annoyed we just left. We are coming back.

Danielle Henry

Nice place to check out some huge outdoor art. The walking path was good. Nice place to take the dog for a walk . Will definitely recommend.

Gayle Astleford

Free family Thursday evenings. It's a good family activity

Amie Michels

Excellent venue for events. Indoor and outdoor spaces are top notch.

Neal Breton

Such a great museum. Appropriately priced. Amazing selection, if you can see everything in one day you probably didn't take a good enough look. Cafe was good and parking was easy.

Logan Overturf

Most of it's free. It's all good except the mini golf. Don't do the mini golf.

Lemon Dude

It's pretty but would like more sculptors :)

Cris Croissant

Went to the rooftop minigolf. 10 artist designed holes, but few were very creative, and most were designed in such a way that the balls frequently fly out of the play area. Kind of a gimmick to lure in those who would otherwise not go to an art museum.

Durran Felton

Excellent space in the city. The day we went it was free. The at exhibitions were amazing. The outside landscape we very well done.

The Walker Art Center has been a STAPLE in Minneapolis and my Life for the past 29 years. Annual Attendances to the BRITISH ARROW AWARDS, Frequent trips to the World Renowned Sculpture Garden, and most recently a Unique and Inspirational Performance “ On Hesitation” and the interactions of Time and Space written by Allan Watts, and Directed by Garcia Torres. The Walker is a PLACE of Culture, experience, and a QUALITY attention to detail unseen in many establishments. Am Grateful for the continued operations by the Walker Art Center, and always enjoy their wide variety of shows, speakers, and culture displays! Even though it was a POLAR VORTEX and -10 degrees in Minnesota, the Walker continued to be a Sanctuary of Peace and Presence that can be lost in the modern Hustle and Bustle! Highly Recommend if you can Slow your Breath, Feel the Energy, and Channel your Inner Curiosity!

Jeremy W

Amazing museum. Free on Thursday evening and the first Saturday of the month. Usually a great selection of work on display. The permanent collection has a ton of amazing pieces when they are on display. The newish parking ramp is super convenient. The adjacent sculpture garden is always worth a visit, and is great in the summertime.

Christie Jones

Awesome!! Could have spent way more time.

Maria D

Lots of modern sculptures and nice grounds to go for a walk. They also have covered areas. There's metered parking on the street and a lot, not sure if there's a free parking lot close by

Mark Melius

When it very hot outside there seem just enough water in the air to keep you cool.

Laura Bieder-Anderson

Must see while in MPLS. Bring a picnic and enjoy the sunshine after a long winter

Michael Hirsch

Love the atmosphere and architecture. Its presence undermines the liberal zeitgeist of Minneapolis. Always pleasant to spend time in the Walker.

MJ Zell

Amazing sculpture walk and cool modern art museum! Modern art isn’t my favorite art style, but it is always fun to spend time walking around the museum and appreciating the art.

Jack Parrott

Really cool sculptures in a serene park. I would recommend going during the week

Ron Brandt

Walked the sculpture garden. Had a great time viewing all the sculptures. The wind chimes in the tree was a favorite.

Thomas Clough

Great place to spend a leisurely Saturday. Wonderful sculpture garden in the heart of the city

Carlos Figari

sculpture garden is great in nice weather. Visit on a weekend or before rush hour traffic on a weekday. The sound of cars can be distracting. Good food options in walking distance. Sculpture garden is not very kid or stroller friendly. The museum itself is expensive, especially compared to alternatives in the area.

Walter Pleasnick

Very interesting pieces to be viewed and read about. I wish we could have spent more time here.

Marianna Klochan

A beautiful place to walk around and check out the art sculptures. Good place to take pictures or shoot videos.

Kyoko Nakazawa

Disappointed. Not worth of paying $15. Mini golf and a chalk room are fun for kids.My son enjoyed it. I like MIA a lot better.

Justin Dahl

The outdoor sculpture garden is a fun place to visit. Many unique items to see. Inside you'll see modern artwork and artifacts.

MikedaHog

Very creative place and had a great tome with my wife while on our little vacay in Minnesota.

Zeina Harb

I love this park. Theres always something new to do there during summer. You can spend a beautiful day there with family where kids can play and they have dancing bands and other events on Sunday too

Clara Casanovas

The entrance ticket was so expensive that I refused to enter. I cannot imagine how a humble family of 4 or 5 can ever get to see art at these prices! The donnors can pay regular taxes instead of donating to their pet projects and the city or state or federal government can run the museum and make it free or low paying entrance all the time, not just a couple evenings. I want art for everyone all days at all times!

mary durbin

Waste of money and time. Pretentious is our description. Employees are standing near each exhibit which I understand, but they look like guards, not one smile returned. The Sculpture Garden is worth seeing and that part is free. For a fascinating and fun day go to the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

littlewhoowl .

The sculpture garden is neat, but I personally didn't like any of the art inside the museum except for the chalk room. I usually try to be open minded about art because art can technically be anything but this museum took that to new level and not in a way I found interesting. It was also extremely short I feel like we had seen everything in a half hour. Overall I was really disappointed.

Annie McPherson

As always, I have a great time at the (free) sculpture garden. Great, inexpensive way to entertain your family while on vacation. Always good to get away from the commercialism of other tourist areas. Fantastic art and a nice walk.

Noah Ogburn

I love it, the images and sculptures are quite attractive, besides the climate is ideal inside, I also love the atmosphere of this place, although sometimes there are many people is still very quiet.

Jenni Castillo

Great place to have fun.The sculptures are amazing and very intriguing. It is def worth a visit!

Zz A

There is a beautiful park across the street you can walk and take pictures.

Nick Sheridan

Great park to walk around and look at some art. Was recently remodeled.

David Deckert

Stopped in to play a little Skyline Mini Golf but before that adventure we needed to try out Esker Grove for a pre-game snack. Definitely worth it and enjoyed it very much. Would highly recommend its great food and service.

Irma Zandl

Great museum, beautifully installed. Plus it includes the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden which is open to the public without an entrance fee for the museum.

Karina Marin

Great place to have access to art. They have free arta events on Thursday nights. And Saturday family art once a month. Check their web page for details.

Joann Stewart

This is one of the great venues in America for looking at art, large scale, 3-d/video/delicate and immense, or intimate close-up small engravings/photographs/printed matter. I took in an important exhibition on Cuban art since the Revolution (1956 to the present), - dense, magnificently placed, huge number of examples in just about every medium, but primarily, the highest quality of work. Excellent docents particularly useful for this show. The Walker is a destination point and worth jumping on a plane from anywhere to visit. Proud to have such a great place in our country for art.

Pat Clusman

Great public space for an afternoon stroll. Contemporary art and nice walking paths. Place to sit and or have a picnic. Hosts events throughout the summer.

Angella Hanson

Attended during Free Thursday event. It was not overly packed. The museum felt smaller than I had anticipated. The exhibits were engaging; the sound/painting and the video exhibits were my kids' favorites. Interactive chalk room was fun too. Mini golf on the roof is overpriced and a very small course.

Douglas Mejia

Creative art, modern, asks the big questios, definitely coming back in the near future.

C Tang

First free Saturday is great with lots of kid activities. Many artists and exhibits to see. When you are done, stop by the gift shop or grab some food at the restaurant or take a stroll outside to see other exhibits.

Konrad L

Very cool diverse collection of modern art. Curated well and presented well

Jenny Dawn

It was interesting but I would say for middle school age kids. They can't touch anything but if you go over the bridge (highway bridge) you get to the pond, walking path, park area.

Erik Black

Great place to visit and see some cool sculptures be in the outdoors and it's completely free

Tirzah McPherson

I like the events more than the museum but the museum is nice too... i love the cafe, they give a good amount of food for your buck. My one dissapointment is the gift shop overpriced and underwhelming. I like leaving with something to remember my visit... nothing was worth it.

James Gilbert

Just A Really well planned Lay-out of the grounds and Exibits.

J Kuehl

Great staff, sculpture garden... Sad that the solarium is disassembled and fish fountain/palms gone. Was a great oasis in our cold winters.

Brian Larson

Great way to enjoy part of a day walking through an outside sculpture garden on flat easy paths to walk on. Some sculptures are interactive.

Nina Groß

Well... there's a huge cherry on a spoon. I love it!

swamiji Kalihatti

It is contemporary art museum. Few of the art works are good. It is yet to be developed

Tori K

Interesting exhibits, much more abstract forms of art and the layout of the building is somewhat confusing. We still enjoyed ourselves but probably won't go back again.

Tennille Gibbs

Interesting place, if you are in the area take a look! You will not be disappointed.

Mary Nath

My friends and I were visiting Minneapolis for a weekend and i ran across Walker Art Center while searching for something fun to do and it looked interesting. It definitely delivered! It was very interesting indeed. A little weird, and I loved it.

i Derp

I came away distressed and perplexed. There is little in the way of art here. I would have had a quicker go of it paying $15 for a homeless guy to kick me in the balls. Plus the homeless guy would be able to eat tonight.

Isadora felling

Great place to have fun. Especially in the summer. Just walking in the sculpture garden is free and mini golf is really affordable. The galleries are year round and always amazing.

Olive L

It's one of my favorite art museums! It's kind of a maze and it feels like it's made for a very specific audience. The art is very beautiful though. Go for the art, not for family friendly. EXCEPT!!!! They have free first Saturdays targeted towards families! You have to scratch the surface in order to get the real experience :)

Daniel Garcia

Odd to review a museum on a one off basis as the actual content rotates fairly often, so the below will be modified on occasion accordingly. Five Ways In, currently showing, provides a wonderful opportunity to spend time with a diverse selection of works from the Walker's Permanent collection. That said, the breadth can be exhausting if taken all in one dose, so I suggest reserving your tee time for put put on the roof to break it up. Taking in one or both of Elizabeth Price's witty and subversive video installations when the feet get sore is a must prior to leaving (the bumpy rumpy music will keep you aloft). Exit through the gift shop? Well, no you must make a special trip to the rear of the museum to visit that. Doing so will give you one of the Twin Citiess best kept secrets for tourists and locals alike seeking conceptual inspiration for your contemporaries (or just go bonkers on yourself). Thursdays afternoons are always free.

Charles Chip Mc Neal

This is a brilliant museum. I would Call it a world class museum. They have a variety of installations, artwork, presentations and performances. I attended a wonderful performance here and was quite surprised by the diversity of people attending this event. Apparently this is typical. The workers are welcoming place for diversion programming and people from all backgrounds.

Chris Lim

Great museum, architecture, and exhibits. Spent a few hours here and worth the time

Tej Mehta

Wonderful place to spent one half to a full day. We walked around the outside sculpture walk (read the writing on the benches), grabbed lunch nearby then came back and went through the museum. There are many excellent pieces in the museum and it is more approachable than many other modern art museums tend to be.

Blake Nelson

oh wow I love art so much because its a great way for me to stay engaged and enjoy Minneapolis art center and the walker art center is a great place to hang out with friend and enjoy art and it is really great weather outside and inside it is also really great temperature and the restaurant is really great and really great.

Jennifer Fisher

First impression was clean, welcoming, and friendly. Wish they had more for younger children, 3-5yo. But overall was pleased with the experience.

Edgar York

Great views from the restaurant, amazing exhibits and beautiful building.

Cathy Haden

GREAT spot in the heart of the city! Unique, beautiful and is kept up well. Bring your out of town guests here!

Brandon Irish

If you want to read a lot then this is a place to check out. There is lots of interesting art and such. My biggest complaint is that its way to political. I rather not have politics in looking at art.

Ryan Nordaune

New gems of artistic creativity around every corner

Joshua Brackett

This place is ok. It's progressive modern art, and for me it didn't really make since. But if your into this perticular kind of art it's definitely worth a visit

David L Smith

Absolutely loved it. Excellent place

Maria Luna

I love Target Thursday is there free go enjoy the museum this round is kind of weird but that's what makes art ....art..!#

A-Dubb Morales

Definitely check online for deals, they have specials all the time. Definitely worth going.

Jesus of the Gym

Tiny but really interesting. I am excited for the expansion.

Alex Pellegrineschi

Trendy, stylish Art Museum. We visited this place for the first time during the Stomping Ground event, and it was a very fun experience: on the sculpture garden just in front of the museum, a mix of circus artists, giant soap bubbles, and other activities created a magical pop art atmosphere. Inside the well curated exhibits are dedicated to contemporary art with artist using all kind of media. Highly recommended.

Robert Erwin

Walked over a mile from downtown, through a beautiful green walkway, across a stunning pedestrian bridge, to these amazing outdoor sculptures. What a wonderful place to stroll and take in the sights and eclectic collection of art. Don’t miss!

Heather Alderink

Great community art events - many free and adjacent to the beautiful Minneapolis Scupture Garden. Make sure to get out on the rooftop terrace if you go on a nice day.

Moriah King

You have to really like art to enjoy this place.

Ol’ Bear

Very clean, minimal fun, pat for parking. Certainly a needed experience for new Minnesotans, but once you've been, you've been.

Elizabeth Mae

This place is so beautiful, day or evening. They have chairs by the spoon bridge and cherry fountain to just relax in. They have numerous sculptures to take pictures of or around. Tons of natural flowers for the bees and also planted for color and beauty. They have lots of parking and if you don't mind a little walk you can always find free parking. Loring park is also across the bridge and would be a great addition to an evening stroll. There is a pavilion there that they have tons of entertainment at throughout the spring and summer. Overall just a spectacular addition to the many enduring landmarks that make up Minneapolis.

Dave Burton

You really need to like modern art - frankly a lot of it just not my thing - Definitely worth visiting if you haven't been there but you need to understand you won't be seeing any old masters

Monstuer M. Herring

I always enjoy going to special events at the Walker and seeing the fabulous displays that's the Walker has for the public.

Marianne Ellen Spevak

Loved it! Go on Thursday nights for an inexpensive but thrilling date night! Always something new to discover.

Eli Robinson

What a great way to expose art and be free. I wish the weather will be a little warmer. It was an amazing walk around the center. The kids had fun running around in the park.

Dave Dyer

Well worth the visit. I was also pleased to find a parking spot for my RV.

Kwame Amporful

Great family venue and great addition to sight seeing list for out-of-towners.

Andrew Maleson

If you love modern art and great people watching.... This is the spot!

Tyler Sippl

very good curation, nice selection of films in the mediatheque, helpful and friendly staff

Brian Sorenson

Strolling through the sculpture garden after dark brings about a while new appreciation for the art as well as the surroundings. Great views as well as relaxing.

Faical Rayani

Art inside can be extremely esoteric(up its own a$$). Not worth the money unless that's what you're into. Good news it's free on TH evenings and first Saturday of every month! Sculpture garden is free year round too and has a lovely bridge leading to loring park. Great spot to just hang out with friends.

Brian Isles

If you want art that will challenge you in a building that has plenty of room for surprises, this is your place. I'm constantly surprised with their collection, the inventiveness of the art, and their bravery to take risks with what they curate. I highly recommend that you try the artist-created mini-golf there! It comes with a pass to the museum, and it's a lovely way to have fun and take in the beauty of the Minneapolis Skyline.

Artemis Winchester

I think the only way to understand this place would be to walk around high on mushrooms or something. Unfortunately I do not do drugs and thought it was weird as hell.

Sarah Depp

From my experience of visiting various museums in the world, this museum is blunt...I don't feel passion & consideration for displaying each wonderful work.

Eric Gurrola

Amazing and beautiful definitely worth my time and will be back

David Plourde

This is a great place to take your family or a first date. The sculptures are amazing and very intriguing. It is def worth a visit!

Juan Ochoa

Museum offers outdoor free exposition and indoor pay exposition, both are interesting, outdoor has exculptures and beauty gardens with spots to rest. Indoor has a lot of art to see and to connect to. Also there is a roof mini golf to spend fun time. At the main entrance there is a nice restaurant .

Nathan

Interesting presentations on contemporary art. Well worth it if you like contemporary art.

Olufunso Oresanya

Eclectic collection of contemporary arts. Also offer exhibitions periodically. Great place and parking off-street

Brenna

Love exploring both the sculpture garden and galleries are well worth the collective 20 bucks parking and admission cost. Do something new, expand your mind and see some artwork!

Sarah Fox

My favorite part is the sculpture garden, it’s open late at night and lit up at night as well so I can take a beautiful walk around there any time of day. The walker art Center has more strict regular business hours but I believe they still do free days for students on Tuesdays which is awesome. I’ve actually had a small animation compiled into a group screening that was shown here at the Walker once thanks to my high school, Perpich Center for Arts Education so that really do support local and upcoming artists. You know that’s something I get to put on my CV forever now, albeit small it felt really good! This is my favorite art gallery/museum in all of the twin cities.

Judy Jones

Great place to go on a date. There is also the sculptress garden nearby. If you are looking for food, there are many restaurants nearby as well. I often come here on the weekend as I work during the week but also weeknights are also a great time to come.

Laura Hoke

Always an adventure of the mind. I love getting fully list in mind and body. Suspend logic and reason, a lot won't make sense this way

Scott Fuchs

Hated the idea the wife drag me down there from my small town, redneck projects. I didn't understand the quotes on the granite beachs but started seeing the beautiful bridge, the swing and saint so-and-so in the open silo. NOTE: lost my work van keys rolling down the hill and someone turned them in. Love you much, thanks. Glad I went.

Josh H

I've always appreciated that the Walker doesn't take itself too seriously, which is a major problem with most galleries and museums. That isn't to say there isn't some pretty thought-provoking material here, just that it's more varied than you typically find. Free Thursdays are the best way to see all the galleries, plus you get to be in there at night, which makes it more interesting and feel less stuffy. The crowd here skews very young compared to places like Mia, especially if you're here on a Thursday night. All in all it's pretty fun.

Kara Applebee

The sculptures are a bit different..a purple chicken?! Lol..great scenery.

Dawn Capistrant

So much fun to walk across the Stone Arch Bridge across the Mississippi River. Need information knowing that it was funded by James J Hill around 1880. And also it is the second oldest Stone bridge on the whole Mississippi River.

Elliott Zabel

Rock the Garden was a great time! Bad Bad Hats sounded fantastic on the garden stage. :)

Erik S

Its okay, guess art just isn't my thing. Nice area though

Ashley Kalenian

Lots of variety in art, well kept grounds. Greatly enjoyed our stay. Parking was somewhat tricky for a Monday, but there is a paid lot close by.

dan erickson

This is an amazing museum in Minneapolis. The art in the museum and the sculptures in the garden make thus one of my favorite places.

Kristie Carter

I was on the hunt for ice cream when I stumbled upon the Walker Art Center. Though I was running dangerously low on my cell phone batter, I saw the sign for free admission Thursday(thanks, Target) and decided to check it out. I loved it. There's an amazing collection that's beautifully curated. I loved the mix of multi-media displays and full room experiences. Art was placed every where - it was truly immersive. An adorable little girl even pointed to an elevator sign and said, "That's art, mommy!" She wasn't wrong, everything about the building felt like part of the displays. I've never been a contemporary art fan, but between the Walker Arts Center and the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, MO, I'm definitely becoming one.

Mike Bird

It is a great building but the exhibition when I was there was average

Michelle Peterson

Inexpensive way to gain knowledge and enjoy all the sculptures along with the readings that you will know the history behind the sculptures.

Giuseppe Galletti

I only visited the sculpture garden so my experience was limited to that, nevertheless I can say it's a nice walk among modern sculptures and eye-catching pieces of modern art. Enjoyable especially during a warm and sunny spring day as the one I was lucky to have!

Gail Doore

Outdoor sculpture garden is the best I've ever visited. Spoon with Cherry is iconic, a must-see experience. Many other great works too.

CeeCee D

Beautiful and unique artwork. This place is truly one of a kind

Chiamaka

Great place to hangout and take beautiful pictures. Beautiful scenery. There is a covered car park opposite the park that costs $5 and an open car park beside the park that costs $4.

Adam W. Dorris

The best center for the arts I’ve had the pleasure of spending a lot of time at. And they use their space so efficiently to punch so far above their weight that this is frankly one of the best and savviest art centers in the country. The sculpture garden is, of course, one of the great icons of the Cities, and that alone is cause for celebration. But they also do a huge variety of great events. Phenomenal music — including some of the best adventurous jazz in the region, among other great performances. Their various dance and film series are also superb. Great lectures and presentations. Oh, and the larger theater for performances is simply a stunning space. The actual gallery space always strikes me as a little smaller than I wish it was, so there’s not as much visual art to explore here as you might presume. But that said, they use the space to great effect and bring wonderful exhibits. All in all, one of the best supporters of the arts and culture in the nation, with a remarkably rich and varied assortment of delights. If you come here even three times in a year, it’s completely worth it to become a member. (Or if you simply love arts and the Cities, you owe it to yourself to join.) A few more notables: Esker Grove, the restaurant, is stellar, and their annual Rock the Garden festival costs too much for a one-day event, but it’s so much fun in such an awesome space that it’s worth it if you chalk the rest of the cost up to a good deed for the arts. #LoveTheWalker

Allison Plummer

a lovely place to visit for art! exhibits change pretty frequently so there's always new things to see. the sculpture garden is amazing in the summer.

Shelbi Patterson

I would recommend skipping the actual museum and just walking around in the park outside. The cherry and spoon is iconic and you can walk on the large bridge that goes over the road. While the park area is cool, the actually museum is pretty weird. I didn't understand most of it (I'm almost 23, so not old). I almost wanted someone to just explain some of the stuff to me because I wanted to understand. In general, many things were just bizarre. They had a whole exhibit called The Body Electric and it was trying to show how people and electronics combine, among other things? I just found it creepy and I didn't connect with it. They also showed a video of a lady demonstrating kitchen supplies? And they had old tv's everywhere showing random stuff. It also didn't take us that long to get through everything and it was $15 dollars for each of us. The MIA (Minneapolis Institute of Art) is the best place ever and it's FREE! Overall, some things were cool, like the giant chalk room, but it was weird and I wouldn't recommend it. The feeling of the place was just off.

PandE McKenna

Excellent modern collection. Very nicely curated. The sculpture garden is awesome. The cafe is tastier than expected. Plus, military ID gets you in FREE!

Deanna Dresher

Love the variety of art. Chalk room was cool.

Brianna Lyn

They took a bunch of the cool sculptures out and now it's bare, and there's only a couple really good sculptures. The parking lot costs $4 for an all day pass and that's the only option. I think I only spent an hour there and that's probably an exaggeration..

Debra Burrell

Great arts center. Wish I had more time to spend there.

Luke Dulgar

Always outstanding, love the gift shop as well! Rotating special exhibits with great collection of local, national, and international art plus the incredible sculpture garden. Not to be missed. Watch website for special events, Arrow awards are a family tradition. Restaurants are good, ADA access is easy with elevators and mostly wide broad passageways and smooth floors, although there is some brick flooring. Ramp and street parking. Uptown coffee and dessert pre or post visit.

Scott Berglund

Always a fun place to roam around with a camera in hand, and there is always something interesting to see too.

Noel

Very powerful displays. The Grand AM display had me in tears. Then there was the black history display that did a great job teaching me about the racism that existed in society and am sure still lingers around.

B G

It's not like the typical museum(s) I'm used to. Best way I know how to describe it is it's 'artsy'. Lots of abstract and interpretative pieces. Recommend go on Thursday evenings (5-8) when free admission. Also sculpture garden is across the street.

michael danko

This was my favorite visit here ever. Thanks for the great day!!

swiggly puff

Really confusing place to navigate. Honestly the art work is okayish. Some are really nice others are okayish and others just suck. It is free so that's a plus. I honestly think the park near by is better

Rachael Kozlowski

Always love the Walker. It’s not huge but it has a great collection and even better programming! Really fantastic different artists come in for performances and talks and Rock the Garden is my favorite concert of the year

Doreen Johnson

We went on Thursday evening where admission is free for all ages from 5pm to 9pm. The exhibits were very interesting, intriguing, and beautiful. Then there happened to be a 2nd annual fashion show! Was awesome!! My 8 yr old really enjoyed himself, staff is courteous, and nice. One gal even got into showing him about an art piece of blank dog tags shaped as Afghanistan, with record of fallen soldiers from 2010-2014 (I may be wrong on the beginning year). And other staff would answer his questions or pique his thoughts in response. Was really neat. Also has interactive art pieces which is great too.

Francisco O

Very cool and unique place to visit. Went there with low expectations and had a great time

SPD

I like it fine. But that classless lumber gallows shamed us all for decades to come. My family moved to the area exactly the year it happened, where it happened. Revolting. Disgusting. I should have burned it down when I first saw it. That would have been proper. The gallows were taken down because it made everyone irate. We should have had a burning man, Minny style

Kimi F

Very interesting place. The art here is neat

John Thomas

I find the hole modern art thing very boring! Go to the MIA!
