Absolutely wonderful. I brought my 5 year old grandson to see the mummies. I was amazed the entire museum held his interest. He didn't want to leave.

One of my favorite places in Boston to visit by far. Definitely should be on your Must Visit list if you're staying in Boston. They have an outdoor area with chairs and other sculptures where people can relax. There is some good people watching if you visit during their more busy weekdays. It's a very historical place and there are art period/curator quizzes in one part of the museum plus 3 floors full of art and sculptures. They have African, Asian, Native American, European, American, Indian, and contemporary art I'm probably missing a few countries they have so much diversity. It's usually never packed so you get plenty of elbow room. Also the gift shop is nice to visit because of all the books and other trinkets. Only real downside is the 25$ entry fee but they have events where it's free admission. I'm currently a student at massart so I get unlimited free access and that's why I go so often. They also host movie nights and parties and though I don't have the money for tickets all those people look like they're having a lot of fun. It's easy to spend many hours here just basking in the glory of all the classic art pieces there I personally find it relaxing.

Cyndi O'Neill-Dady

My daughter and I enjoyed a fun day exploring the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. I especially loved viewing relics from Ancient Civilizations. The Toulouse-Lautrec and the Stars of Paris exhibit was also fascinating.

Emily Martin

A wonderful collection. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and recommend it to my friends.

Michael Romero

This was an absolutely incredible museum one of the best I’ve ever visited in the United States. The collection was so diverse from paintings and sculpture to musical instruments and decorative arts. The map was very informative on how to navigate around the different buildings and floors. My favorite painting was the ElGreco.

Hassan Warfa

You better visit there. You can't call your life fulfilled unless you visit Boston Museums.

Tim Ball

This art gallery is amazing. Great range of styles and eras with many excellent temporary exhibits. The only thing that let it down was the poor quality of the sandwiches in the side cafe... no one likes cold soggy bread and limp lettuce! :-)

Sherman Hanke

Great exhibits, both special and full-time. The museum is well laid out and thoughtfully curated. Something for every taste!

Mary Phillips Blackshear

Just seeing this bronze imagine staring into the sky tells you what you are about to experience. And you will not be disappointed. Inside is a doorway to the world.

Jose Contreras

Wow so much to see I couldn't leave even though my feet were killing me. Amazing place

Romel Anthony S Bismonte

It's my first time seeing a museum with as large a collection as MFA Boston, but it was impressive to me. The spaces were also well appointed. We were not able to see everything; we have to return.

Brian Liberge

The museum is wonderful and huge. Sometimes walking around you'll swear it's bigger on the inside. Too much to see in one day

C M

One of the best Museums I have visited, you need several days to soak up the huge diverse collections. And a whole day just to look at the paintings that decorate the building itself. Fantastic place, discovered a lot of art you would not see anywhere else.

Chloe French

Gender Bender exhibit was awesome! The MFA is always great, perfect to escape the heat of summer and have some fun.

Wendy Easton

This is a great museum with lots to see. But dress warmly as the temperature is quite chilly in here.

Anna Kaori

Just a phenomenal place I loved the China exhibit and a few others we also dined at the second floor restaurant which was so tasty and elegantly presented. The only negative thing I can say is that the building is a bit hard to navigate and the food although delicious was portioned to chipmunks but the prices certainly were NOT

David Henry

Always something for everyone. Great exhibits from all different cultures. Staff helpful. Check website for free educational experiences.

Paul Medeiros

Huge collection, fantastic works from top to bottom! Not expensive to get in, multiple days needed to fully enjoy the collection in it's entirety.

Isaac James

World-class art museum with more than a day's worth of exhibits. In fact, our ticket let us come back within a week and we did just that. Definitely worth a stop for anyone with a passion for art.

M MacFarland

Amazing collections. An encyclopedic collection. We spent an entire day but only saw a small fraction of the exhibits. The free guided tours were exceptional. They were not crowded. Food options were limited and long lines and limited seating. A new dining option is opening soon on the second floor that might mitigate that some.

Guy Warwick

Good collection, lovely facilities. We spent the better part of the afternoon there seeing one of the travelling exhibitions and the permanent collection. The $25 entry fee is not cheap, but it covers the baggage and coat check (which pretty much every other museum insists upon), and a second, subsequent entry within the following ten days, which is great if don’t get to see everything you planned on for the first trip. There are lots of spots to sit down. The buildings are a lovely complement to the art. If you’re in Boston and like art, it’s worth the trip.

Eleny Mama

A jewel of Boston, the MFA is a definite attraction. You can spend a whole day there, what with the permanent and seasonal exhibitions going on. The food served at the airy restaurant is of high standard. Well done Boston.

Aaron Measer

Fantastic museum in the heart of Boston! Incredible collection of American, European and ancient art that really leaves you in awe. The Greek sculpture exhibit was one of my favorites, the beautiful pieces are amazing! A must for anyone who appreciates the arts!

shiva goel

I didn't think I would enjoy as much as I did here. This is my first visit to a art museum in the US and was blown away by the detailing and conservation of the art. I only had like 2 hours and promise to come back to this place and take audio tour. They had the largest collection of Monet outside France. Very interesting place.

Scott Petersons

this is a great museum with some amazing exhibits to check out. you could get lost in this place with all the amazing things they have to offer

Montse Aguilar

This place is huge! I just wish we'd had more days to properly enjoy it. Nevertheless, the visit is so worth it, as you'll constantly find yourself surrounded by masterpieces if different periods.

Beth Capotosto

Love this place! There is always something cultural and engaging going on. It's a wonderful place to spend time surrounded by great works of art. The cafeteria offers a great selection of food options and a well maintained salad bar. The only down side of that the food can be a bit pricey. That being said, if you love art and feel strongly about supporting the institutions dedicated to preserving that art, get a membership.!

Ellie Biddle

Spent three hours just strolling through exhibits and still didn't see everything. Plenty to look at and something for everyone. I was happy to return to the summer heat once back outside. Very relaxed atmosphere. I found it welcoming with every age/color/gender enjoying themselves.

Katie Stuempfle

Beautiful and big! They have a great permanent collection that spans all corners of the earth, plus they have show stopping and intriguing visiting installations. Definitely worth a trip if you have a free day.

Allan Wang

The regional powerhouse museum with some world class areas in its collection. The venue is very accessible by public transport, and in the area of Boston that is not yet overly congested. The proximity to the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum is convenient. There is a very good museum restaurant/cafe in the spaces atrium, with a composite Dale Chihuly glass spire adding color and scale to the atrium's height. If it's menu doesn't suit you check out the lovely IS Gardener museum Cafe nearby as an alternative. A very fine place to enjoy Boston when it's weather is challenging.

Andrew Dodd

One of the best museums I’ve been too. Great feel and vibe throughout with lots of great exhibits. Amazing canteen as well!

Elizabeth Pellegrino

Always a great day! So much to see and the current Toulouse Lautrec exhibit is fantastic. A good collection of the masters, as well as contemporary works and photography.

Jaime M. Guzman

I enjoyed my time at the museum the art work and items on display were interesting, they had I believe four mummies on display and some enormous items that surprised me into thinking how did they get them in. A fair warning I would suggest that you not pay for the mobile MFA guide in the reason that the battery life on them is not that good I wasn't even half way through the museum and the battery was already starting to drain to when it only had about 10%, plus some of the exhibits didn't even have an option to use it so again it's just a suggestion but don't use it. In the end it's a good time and expect to be there a good amount of time if you want to visit the whole museum.

Don Saarela

Most people spend 1 to 2 hours here roaming around looking at the many different artifacts from around the world. The Egyptian artifacts dating back 4000 thousand years or older I found interesting because it showed the beginning of craftsmanship and how much we involved since then. *** Every Wednesday, after 4pm, Free admission.

Dani Chahine

I loved the expeditions shown at this Museum. They bring famous paintings along with their local ones. This museum contains wonderful pieces of art. Personally my favorite is the American paintings precisely George Washington standing tall on a the summit of a hill.

David Le

The Museum of fine arts is a must-visit spot for anyone visiting Boston. Such a huge collection and you're so much ground to cover that you would have to take several trips to see the whole place. The exhibitions are always changing and are well curated. There's so much to discover from Asia, Africa, ancient modern to contemporary. I highly recommend the Museum of Fine Art.

Chris Di Paolo

Basically as cool as it gets if you want to feel like going back to ancient times. The nubian exhibit was pretty amazing, feels for a second that you're walking around a 4000 year old city

Meredith Larson

Great museum. Home to many masterpieces. I have always had positive interactions with the employees. I also really enjoyed lunch at the new restaurant on the second floor. Fresh, unique cuisine.

Antoine M

The atmosphere is one of inviting with rich history and fascinating exhibitions. It pays to arrive early or book ahead to avoid the queue. Suitable for all ages especially for children to explore. Wheelchair accessible entrance and parking. There's lavatory and gift shop. It has a lot to make you want to browse through all day.

Ted Crosby

Stunning. Brilliant collection. Amazing pieces in a beautiful building. Some of the galleries didn't have great lighting - making it hard to view some of the paintings due to reflections, which was a shame... But this is easily a museum you could spend the whole day happily lost in!

Levon Karagozian

A truly remarkable museum. The architecture, exhibits, and gardens were so unique and made for a great experience. I would recommend you take a few minutes to plan out your tour otherwise you can jump around exhibits very easily. Some exhibits are spread out among two to three floors.

Kylie Moyer

Love to bring my visiting friends and family here. Great tourist destination without the crushing feeling of being stuck in a tourist trap. Plus they have great artist socks for anyone in need of a clever gift! Always clean & staff are polite. Wonderful artwork too!

謝沛宏

it’s a great place to go because there are so many things to watch super clean classification is the best part of the museum

S. Joseph Hernandez

The MFA is a key institute in Boston. It is a core for community art education, exploration, and exhibition. Its programs and exhibits provide abundant opportunities to engage with a global art community, sharing cultural knowledge that enriches every aspect of life.

Abner Gerome

So much history to learn from around the world..arts..music..poetry... great food and even more amazing exhibits.. can't go wrong..and great staff all around.

Sara Choi

One of my favorite art museums. They're constantly updating and replacing their exhibits. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and thought it would be quiet, but there was actually a medium sized crowd. I enjoy seeing something different every time I visit.

Pragadeesh Kumar

One of the finest art museums in the world. They have collections from throughout the world. best part was the American collection and the ancient Egypt exhibit. Art enthusiasts can easily spend an entire day here, even more.

Nicholas Cichocki

Amazing paintings, other art and artifacts Included in goBoston cant go wrong

Calvin Do

Superb collection of art ranging from ancient art all the way up to contemporary and modern art. Each exhibit in the musuem tries to encapsulate what it really feels like to be within a certain era. There are pieces that are interesting for all ages, many of them also provide a substantial amount of history too. All exhibits are very well maintained, and there are new things brought in frequently. You can get a student discount and sometimes get a re-entry ticket.

John Haley

Vast. Informative. Neon lawn furniture open to the public. Free admission past 4pm on Wednesday’s

Calvin Olson

Huge museum with a ton to see. Well curated collections. Could easily spend 2 days inside to see it all.

Robert Hendryx

Great museum! Egyptian artifacts, early American art, Monet....see some of many era's of art. 1 day isn't enough to see it all.

Yolanda Hernandez Santa Cruz

Amazingly good and huge. It can take you more than a whole day to walk it entirely. I recommend splitting it in a minimum of two visits. Must-see of sure.

dhanya raj

The fine arts museum is a masterpiece of its own. Night or day, it stands out. The beauty, the intricacy and the vastness.. All in the same place. There are relaxing chairs in the front yard, where you can sit and soak in this magnificent beauty ..

Robert Brauer

This place is massive and has so much to see. Love that you can return on the same ticket within 10 days to see more. I’d say my favourite was the Buddhist section and Asian collection. Nice gift shop and don’t forget to visit the Japanese Garden

Janice Zohn-Watson

One of the best museums in our country! It is a wonderful experience for people in their 90's down to 1 year olds - things to see, do and learn about for everyone. One can spend the whole day and not get bored...and there are places to sit and rest, get something to eat or just watch people go by. Love love love this museum and it's art exhibits, special programs, special displays and the educational discussions. So much to learn and enjoy.

Maria L.

Beautiful building inside and outside, great number of very interesting exhibits, functionally structured, with cafés and spots to rest in between. I could not have enough of it, so I entered a second time the next day with the same ticket (you are allowed within 10 days from first visit). A great museum!

Alison Kan

Huge museum with lots of variety of art pieces from different countries and time periods separated in different wings and sections. Great place for a rainy day or to just explore if you love art. They have days/times for discounted or free admission, student prices, and some universities have free admission, but generally adults are $25.

Chris Gohman

This place is huge. We spend nearly 5 hours and only got through the basement and floor 1... There's another whole floor to this place. Plus the fact that you can visit one more time again for free with your ticket stubs makes it all worth it. Highly recommended

Jessica Fuller

I went to the MFA with my mother and grandmother and it was very accessible. The art was excellent, I enjoyed the variety of European art in the hour before they closed. If I was staying in Boston I would certain go again, I was even told that the tickets work for a second visit within a 10 day period, which is very nice as there is a lot of art to view. The elevator situation is a bit weird, there is an elevator that only provides access to the bathrooms. We were looking for the cafeteria and asked three different employees only to get three different sets of instructions. We found it eventually, they were closing up but we were able to get a prepackaged sandwich, which was alright, and a soda.

Ian J.

Unfortunately I only had 2 hours there. Wish I had more time. So much to see. Definitely will be back. Love the collections here.

Benny Hamblin

My Boy Crazy Jeff told me they had an exhibit of carrots that looked like celebrities. They DO NOT! Though they do have a nice collection of random stuff to look at and the floors are clean for a building in Boston.

katelyn bouzane

Who could rate this less ? This is a great museum with wonderful staff and great events. Weds nights are free by donation. This is one of my favorites spots in town. Please go and enjoy all it has to offer. If you only have five bucks to spare go on a weds , art is for everyone !

M Langenderfer

Fantastic art gallery. A great range of eras and styles. Plan to visit a couple days to see everything, and follow on visits to see the rotating exhibits.

Sooryun Lee

Had a great time enjoying all the artwork. It's worth a visit.

Erica Fossati

My favorite museum in the area, always impeccable. Great variety of temporary exhibits and always arranged beautifully. The bookstore is amazing, I would buy everything they have, they have also a great selection of artsy toys for kids. The garden cafeteria has the most amazing view on the garden (and unfortunately the ugliest food). Food and movie theater could be better but you can't have everything ;)

Jeffrey Brigham

So much to see, and so pleasantly arranged. They give space for all types of art from around the world, including famous works even a non-art-buff would recognize. World class.

John B

This is a great art museum, for locals or visitors... While this is a pretty big museum, it's not intimidating in how it presents work. Art is divided neatly into categories and time periods whit exhibits that capture different cultural and period themes. Visiting exhibits are frequent and are always top of the line, with meticulously curated displays, and professional tours to enhance the expierences. The MFA is constantly hosting programs and events to engage with everyone, from young children and school-aged teens, to adults both with or without extensive art knowledge and interest. Something new is always happening.

Nicole Sheldrake

Enormous! With a ton of great art and a lovely building in itself. The food at the little cafe was terrible, we had to return our salads because they were soggy and smelled funny. The wraps we got in exchange were not much better so that was disappointing. Am definitely recommending it for the art part though!

Maarten Oosterbaan

Went to late night fine arts. Wine food and art. Perfect atmosphere and a DJ was there. Great night to spend. Look out for next events. Get tickets in advance so you dont have to spend an hour in line like a peasant

Nidhi

I love this one! It will make you fall in love with art. The section with paintings steal the show.

Travelling First

Great selection of artworks all around the world with covering different cultures. They have a great statue collection. Our favorite was the ancient greek sculptures. They also have a pretty good collection of asian art works. Cafeteria was bit expensive when compared to the portion size they give. We spent 2-3 hours and didn’t get bored any single moment of the visit. We highly recommend this place in Boston. Definitely worth visiting and one of the best museums we have visited by far!

Hagen Finley

A collection at the level you would expect from such a distinguished city.

katzen freund

Great place,we joined the free guided tour that takes place every Wednesday (I think), and enjoyed the insightful and interesting presentations and explanations tremendously. A huge THANK YOU that a place so absolutely worth visiting exists!

Shanan Edwards

The Egyptian exhibit here is spectacular, I look forward to spending the whole day here every time I go and I still haven’t seen all that there is to see. There is always something new to discover/learn and it seems like it never ends. I love this museum.

Greg M

Something for everyone. Curated 'shows' of the collection, early American, impressionist, Chinese, instruments, fashion, jewelry. Nice cafes that run the price gamut from $ to $$$$. A great place to pass a hot, rainy, cold, day. Go! Often!

Dr. J

Loved it. You need at least 2 days to see the entire museum. Live jazz. Movies in the museum. Free on wednesdays

Alex Reganata

Great day trip! Wednesday is free or your chosen donation amount - no excuse not to come! Saw a fantastic exhibit by Kay Nielson - guy does good art.

Kathy Fox

Wonderful permanent collection. Always interesting temporary displays Very good restaurant and gift shop.

Ara Kusuma

A one day visit is not enough to explore the entire collections! One of the most comprehensive museums I've ever visited. Do check for their free guided tours.

Kristen

I grew up in Boston and made sure to visit the MFA at least once every year or so. I live overseas now, and still find the time when I’m in Boston to visit this amazing museum. The museum has plenty of space to wander around and there’s something new to see each time I go. The gift shops are the perfect place to find a unique gift for someone special.

nilay patel

What a awesome place . So much to learn and get inspired . One visit is not enough to take in all the different art on display . Was lucky to catch the murakami collection

Timothy Booker

There's just a ton of great and priceless artifacts in this museum. I hadn't been there for years and was blown away by the diversity of content offered by the museum. I was there for three hours and saw 15-20%. And I plan to go back because I can use my ticket twice within one week. Can't recommend highly enough.

Bob Moran

Great collection. Do their "Top Ten" map, if you only have limited time!!!

Kristin Rowley

One of my favorite places in the world. They have an extensive Egyptian collection, an amazing amount of Monet paintings, and the building itself is a piece of art. A great way to spend the day getting lost in the art and learning some more history.

Chris H

They really do have such a great collection of pieces. I came to Boston on a day trip and was here (gladly) only for hours!! It really is a beautiful place and I am so so very thankful that they provide discounts to students throughout New England.

Dennis Errichiello

Great museum. So much art in one place. Totally worth the cost of admission.

Margot C

One of the best museums I had the chance to be visiting in Boston. I'd recommend without hesitating.

Iuri Gavronski

Great museum. A bit too cold for my taste. Take a light hoodie in Summer days.

Melissa Squires

Beautiful museum with lovely galleries. Enjoyed the photography exhibit and the eclectic exhibitions.

hyllaerye ford

Wide assortment of treasured items of historical importance through out the span of human existence.

Lily Vincent

One of the best museums I have ever been to the artwork was beautiful, the staff kind, and very clean. If going I recommend bringing a bag that can be worn at your side as backpacks are not allowed.

Rick M

Recently moved to Boston and signed up for a yearly membership. The museum is amazing. From the architecture to the exhibits to the restaurants, this is truly a world class art museum.

Mr Comeau

Excellent and diverse exhibits. Well appointed with a lot of ground to cover. Could spend a day and a half here easily. Also, they have dining options on 3 levels depending on your taste and preferred atmosphere.

Dante Orsini

Waaaay more than you can experience in a single day, this is a high quality and high quantity museum. Docents are knowledgeable, and exhibits are beautiful. If you're busing Boston, this is a must-see.

Elizabeth Keller

One of my favorite art museums. They have the largest collection of Japanese art and prints outside of Japan. Also a huge collection of John singer Sargent. They have amazing special exhibitions which usually include Boston artists from all time periods. They also have many classes and special events - every one I’ve been to has been extremely high quality.

Annie Wood

Great experience! We spent only half a day, but could have spent many more hours. Well worth the visit!

Marcus Hamblin

This museum has provided me an art-filled refuge from the time I was a design student to now as a professional. The recent Gender Bending Fashion exhibit was incredible! More art like this please!

Timothy Sarette

Really a fine space to enrich your imagination and refresh the appreciation for the creativity and vision of the human race. Top notch afternoon.

Foozieh Mir

I bought a first day ticket and I ended up changing it to an annual ticket after my visit. Amazing collection of Monet, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Renoir and so many other Masters. Truly enjoyed it.

Noah Langford

One of the greatest art museums in America or perhaps the world. Love the collection of silversmith works by Paul Revere and the portraits of him, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton, Dr. Joseph Warren, Henry Knox, John Quincy Adams and George Washington. Was not aware that the museum has one of the largest collection of artwork by Claude Monet outside of France. And also one of the largest collection of John Singer Sargent’s art

Maritere Amy Moreno

Beautiful museum!! Always very nice & interesting art excibitions, they also have concerts in the garden with famous artists. I love going there!!

Cheshire Cat

Top quality museum. Not so large you need multiple days to go through it, but has many and varied sections stuffed with amazing art. Their rotating exhibits are always interesting and extremely well thought out. In short, well worth a visit or five.

Davide Donati

Huge museum with hundreds of superbs paintings. I really enjoyed both the European and American expositions. Given the size of the museum though, one day is clearly not enough to really make the most out of a visit. I would advice to go at least twice.

Sebastian Leakos

Lots of amazing art. I enjoyed the 2nd floor quite a bit more than the first. You might say that each floor is better than the last.

Oliver Ehlers

great Museum one of my favorites I must if you are in this area.

Tony leahy

This place is amazing. Make sure you come with a full day in mind because it'll take a while to see everything!

Upasana Sridhar

The little bits of extra information were great! The staff were really courteous. As an added treat there was some live flamenco style music today. The MFA is a great place to spend a good chunk of your day.

David Yaeger

This is my second visit to the MFA. I happily returned after a great first visit. The collections are well displayed and curated. Unfortunately such large collections require long walks, a necessary evil. A whole room full of Monets is an amazing treat for this art lover. Of course there are many other artists such as John Singer Sargent, Renoir, Matisse. Most everythingl I could ask for. Hope to have another visit on a return trip to Boston. A must see.

Antal Keszthelyi

This museum was amazing. They are doing many thing for upcoming exhibits, which is exciting. The museum is huge, HUGE, but that is great because there are so many pieces to look at. My favorite was the ancient exhibits, amazing history. Great descriptions and introduction by each exhibits. I would recommend splurging and paying $6 for the audio tour. They were great. Only complaint would be that I wished there was more audio guided exhibits. Overall loved it. Beautiful building friendly staff, will be back to see the rest.

Gina Chen

The MFA is amazing! There are so many interesting exhibits and sections. The architecture of the museum itself is so impressive. I spent nearly 4 hours there and didn't even finish looking at half of the museum. You could easily spend an entire day here. The food offered at the cafe is also pretty tasty! Definitely a place to stop if you're visiting Boston. Admission is by voluntary donation on Wednesday evenings, so you can get in for as much or as little as you like!

Christopher Belcher

Wow. So many interestimg things to see here. From mummies to samurais it is really cool to visit. You can honestly spend a whole day here just looking around.

Helene Fried

A wonderful museum with soooooo much to see. We needed more time. The introduction tour gave us a jumping off point to start.

Inaya Robinson

This is my favorite museum in Boston, by far. I have always been a fan of classical art. Because the museum is so large, I always discover something new with each visit. I also appreciate the many cultural events hosted by the MFA.

Matthew Brady

Not all days in Boston are fine and sunny, haha. The tickets are valid for ten days so plan a couple of trips. This because the exhibition is so extensive. There is parking near by and on site, watch for game days as there can be crowds. There is a nice cafe/bistro to grab a bite and reflect.

Bakhtiyar Karimov

Great place for anybody with even slightest interest in art and history. If I had time, I would spend at list 2 half of days there, but I only had one. So I had to skip certain sections of exposition to concentrate on my favorite ancient art and European impressionism. I also found cafeteria pretty good for taking a little rest and light lunch. Parking lot is just outside the museum, although pretty expensive. I found a spot with parking meter on Museum street across from parking lot. 4 hours (maximum) cost $8. If you lucky to find a space next to the museum on Fenway, it's free, just make sure you read signs carefully.

Chunchun Fang

Amazing museum with wide range of arts collections across different continents, time and forms. Paintings, sculptures, metal work, glass work etc. You can easily spend hours there immerse yourself with the art collections. Ticket is a bit expensive at 25 USD but it also gives additional admission within 10 days.

Art NY

I finally had the opportunity and time to come in an visit this lovely museum. One time visit is 25.00 so I recommend the membership at 75.00 if you are planning to come a few times a year. The museum is Huge with many exhibitions, I am mot and Art teacher, I am learning myself, so I will let you find the knowledge, definitions of all these lovely Art in this museum. I loved the contemporary Art and the old style ones. I loved walking through all the rooms in a free style rather than following instructions or the map. Lots of amazing cool Art here. Yes, this is a must see for all, family and Art lovers.

Haydeé González

My local museum keeps me returning. The Hyman Bloom exhibit was tight. Thanks for the introduction. MFA, you rock!

Elizabeth Vongvisith

Always worth a visit. Fascinating permanent collection and lots of world-class special exhibitions throughout the years. Good guest amenities. Recommended.

blur tum

Awesome place. If you want to go through everything, consider it is going to take more than 3 hours. They have a very nice and quite garden as well. Really enjoyed the day.

Michael Bach

A Boston must do. Fine Arts professional atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Arles V.

Place is huge! You'll definitely need to visit multiple time or spend an entire day to see everything they have to offer. They had some really great works on display during my visit, specially the European/Old World wing of the museum. Highly reccomend it!!!

bee

there’s an amazing collection of everything you can think of! definitely save an entire day for your museum visit though, there’s so much to see that it can’t all be done in one day. when i went, several exhibits were under construction, and i still wasn’t able to see everything in the time that i had. if you’re visiting boston and love art, this is a must-do location for you.

Deborah B

Wonderful artworks, both traditional and contemporary. The maps are excellent but navigation is not intuitive. For this visitor from NYC, it felt like a maze. It's an old museum that has grown organically. Better signage could improve the visitor experience

Julia Dobson

I love this place! Such a beautiful museum.

Stephen Irvine

A fantastic collection of art from around the world, including ancient artefacts from Egypt and middle east which I didn't know. For me the highlight was the European impressionists, some wonderful, famous works in the collection, but the arts from America was also great. You can spend a long time here! Excellent.

Francisco Alcaraz

This museum is incredible. The price may be a bit much at first, but once you step inside, you'll see that it is more than worth it. There is food inside that is actually pretty decent, and there are a lot of fascinating exhibits that will keep you busy. In order to see 99 percent of the exhibits and such you'll need to be here for around 5 hours. This place is ginormous. And that is an understatement. The more we explored this place, the bigger this museum seemed to get. It was huge and a bit overwhelming at times. Some people will come and will probably need to come back another day. I truly recommend this place.

Cathy Young

Amazing museum with a huge variety of exhibits from paintings and statues to musical instruments. The collection may be smaller than some world-renowned museums but is still superb. Especially recommend the impressionists. Also, if you can catch the exhibition of works by Danish illustrator Kay Nielsen (on until January 2020), definitely do. It's fantastic.

Christine Lyons

I have been going to the first Friday dancing event for the past few years. They had good DJ s in the past but last nights was horrible. He did not finish many songs and it was hard to figure out how to dance to his terrible mix. We even tried to make requests but he refused to take it. Before I go back again I want to make sure this DJ is not providing the music. My friends and I were so disappointed.

The museum is amazing! There's plenty to look at. You could spend a whole day here and you still wouldn't see everything. This is more of a place for adults and older children though because of it's quiet atmosphere.

Beautiful and imaginative. Bring comfortable shoes. Don't expect to see all of the exhibits. Too many to see in one day.

We went on a rainy day, but would happily have visited on any day! The art is varied and beautifully divided into rooms that are easily navigated. We felt comfortable letting our teen girls roam together on their own. Not only is the art wonderful, the architecture inside is another reason to visit. Several cafes and gift stores scattered through out. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed and happy we experienced. Highly recommend if you are one who loves art museums!

This museum is without a doubt one of my most favorite in the Boston area. With such a great variety of art, it is extremely difficult to ever get bored in this place. In fact with so much art available, you couldn't possibly see every piece in a single day. This allows for numerous visits to the MFA with an experience just as unique as the first. What's more, the MFA is always holding fascinating special exhibits that originate all across the art world. As for the technicalities of ones visit, the actually museum building is beautifully built. There are elevators, wheelchairs, audio guides, and excellent air conditioning for those hot summer days. The gift shop, food, and drinks all present an abundance of options at reasonable pricing. The MFA is a world-class museum that everyone must experience! And you don't manage to see all the art in one day, not to worry, your ticket will last another 10 days. Highly recommended!!!

My Mom used to take me here as a kid, so I have very fond memories of this museum & we went back again, years since our last visit. This museum never disappoints! My Mom & I have a fondness for the impressionists, but every display is so educational & entertaining! You really do learn something new with each visit! The museum itself is spotless, the staff are scattered throughout, available to answer questions & help you find specific areas & it truly is an amazing place for both vacationers *and* locals!

Doubt i'm going to say anything that hasn't been said as of yet but man this is one hell of a museum. I spent a solid five hours here checking out a variety of exhibits. This museums got something for everyone. Its definitely an entire day event if you like to really read about each exhibit. 25 dollar admission is worth it in my opinion. The food prices aren't great I have to say. Its not very good and pretty costly-

Beautiful, inspiring art. And not overly crowded! A wonderful experience.

My absolute favorite museum! It is very large with a variety of art. They always have special exhibits going on as well as permanent artifacts and art. They have all-gender bathrooms in addition to traditional male/female bathrooms. There are elevators, wheelchairs, and audio guides provided. The food and coffee is absolutely delicious and prices are what you would expect. Entry is $25, $10 for ages 7-17, free for under 6, and $23 for students/seniors. Your town's public library probably provides discounted tickets- mine provides two tickets at $10 each. Definitely worth it! Parking rates vary, but to give you an idea it is $18 for 2 hours and $24 for 3 hours.
